The Vigilante Code

lol .. she was talking about Dr Doom, not Muerte. In Marvel Comics, Doom and Richards were originally friends.

ohhhh...well then that makes sense^^

Dr M-unknown

Scorpia-probably Jaunita

Hellburner-unknown

Iron Man-unknown

Pale Rider-killed Kevin's father.

Hmmm...things are getting interesting....

Just curious, is this group based on the Fantastic Four? nvm

Wait...is she saying that Muerte was like Dr. Doom or Like Richards? Or is she comparing Dr. Death to both of them?

Ok nvm...re-read again and I think I got it. She was comparing Dr. M to altered version of Dr. Doom. Had to re-read three times to get it -.-

As you can see, metaphors and sarcasm sometimes just whiz by me =P

@WritingMan Regarding what to tell Erik, there is the truth ... and then there is the truth. So far, what IS the truth as far as the criminal world knows it? Who are you and Sean? (They separated you for a reason. That is a fact that anyone familiar with interrogation techniques should know. If stories don't sync up ... then one is lying. And THAT is why Sean wanted to get stories straight first. Erica showed up late forcing him to adopt whatever was as close to the truth as possible.)
So far, all Sean and Erica have done is try to join an illegal cage fight. So WHY? What prompted the decision. It isn't as though Sean needs money. The best lies come from the truth.
@WritingMan

Well, I suppose it depends on whether Erica would believe Erik. He is 'apparently' a hired mercenary, is bored enough to make conversation with Erica, doesn't seem to care much for the organization-nor its members, and promised to keep what Erica says a secret. If his words are honest, she might gain his trust more by being honest with him. Of course, this could all be just a ruse/interrogation tactic--pretending to be an ally and getting info that way.

Edwin wouldn't trust Erik as far as he could throw him (he can't throw him far =P) and would probably weave an entertaining, dramatic story about himself that ties somewhat close to the truth(he, really, really needs the money because his uncle is dying from some obscure illness and he needs the money FAST). But that's the type of character he is. Edwin doesn't trust people easily...least of all someone who's working for the enemy, hides his face behind a mask, and apparently goes by the pseudonym 'Phantom'.

FYI, I won't be posting anymore until Matthew shows up...unless you want me to fill the thread with Edwin's flirting with Janice...which is essentially what he'll be doing while he waits for Mattie...

What a day ... okay ... reading and writing as soon as I can

1. I still haven't approved your character. You sort of jumped the gun by posting. I was still waiting to hear back from you. Quite frankly your character design is all over the place. She is a sort of "does it all and needs no group sort of character."

2. English measurements on the CS please.

3. Why is Seo a vigilante? Sounds like she has an ideal life.

4. No clue what to do with your post. It is sort of in left field and has little to do with the plot.

I'll probably be able to post this afternoon as well, assuming class ends on time and I get my lab report finished first.

Well we WERE discussing earlier how to introduce her to the plot, she'd be a vigilante mainly just for, it'd be something useful to do with her time, she enjoys helping people, and she really is just kind of the sporadic, 'Why not?' Kinda people.

She will TRY to do it all, but she can't do it all obviously that's overpowered, she only professionalises in maths and engineering. The only thing she's good at which can relate to crime fighting is her fast moving skill set.

As for the whole not approved thing. I thought since we had discussed it all, it was fine.

Did you read the Code? This group wasn't formed to help people. It was formed to make sure the bad guys get punished - whether the police do it - or the group handles it. Helping people is just a personal thing.

James is the Helper sort. He's not a vigilante. That's why he is an NPC.

Kevin acts a tough line, but he doesn't feel right taking the law into his own hands. He'll put the police on the right trail. That's why he is an NPC.

As to the Do Everything. My main concern here is having a player squashing all the others. (I have to watch myself on this one. Info is one thing. That just makes sense for a GM to handle.) I would prefer her Engineering be specialized. Sean does Civil and Habitat Engineering. James does rocket science and microengineering (hence the codename Micronaut). Lori does computer engineering.

It is, she's a weapons engineer. A overly enthusiastic one to be more specific. She knows the ins and outs of most weapons, specialising majorly on fighter aircraft but being being well rounded on small arms.

Things ran a little longer than I'd like to this afternoon. I have a four day weekend though so I will for sure have time to get a post up tomorrow or later tonight,

I actually think Seo would make an interesting addition to our team of vigilantes--a brilliant weapons engineer and math wiz who qualifies as super athletic despite her small size (I'm guessing she focuses on more speed than anything else) and uses Taichi martial arts. Certainly not more rigged than some of the npcs. As for lacking a clear motivation, I don't really think characters need a certain history to feel the way they do. She had to have joined the vigilante club cause some part of her agrees with the idea that criminals deserved justice.

Yes, but she just doesn't feel like a part of that group. It would have been easier if she had been with us when the RP started ... or even the missions. Now that she is so far behind ... I have no clue how to get her into this. And the first post doesn't help. I mean ... if she were part of the group that test about the meeting ... And then Nico dead like that.

But I have been giving it some thought. get rid of the first post. Yes, it is good writing, but it really does just get in the way of introducing her. My suggestion would be to have had her in meetings with military folks out of town and unable to respond until around 2300 or later 29 June. Of course, then we still have to figure out how to get her into the missions. I have an idea for that using Lori.

Lori would know the group by virtue of their texts. The group text would ID Seo as a member. Then ... hack her cell, send the Random Stranger App so "he" can speak. ....

Well, maybe once Lori loses contact with Sean and Erica she panics a bit(worried about their safety) and sends a text/Random Stranger App to the rest of the vigilante group (Seo and Kassandra) for aid--who apparently did not get (Caleb's) first 'emergency meeting' text. Seo's in NYU so she might also run into Jennifer whose a professor there.

Otherwise, assuming they are all friends, I can have Edwin text the other members of the vigilante club while at Janice's place...

I'm thinking it would be cool if everyone meets on the ship...Kassandra infiltrates somehow with Seo...

Sharlene is already working on such a post. Way ahead of you. Contact was lost around 2100. One plot problem is that Erica is still being messed with the next morning. Now THAT is something I can adjust. Just have her wake up sooner. But @WritingMan is really starting to hold up the plot. He even has my main character blocked from posts.

Okay, my memory is a bit rusty: Why are the infiltrating the organization/ship again? It's to find a person who is responsible for Niko's death right?

Well, I don't know if we need to adjust anything. We just need to work around the different times.

Maybe Edwin and Matthew run into Erik on the ship prior to when he met with Erica...or maybe they see Sean and Erica brought in at some point, but they were unable to do anything about it until later. Maybe Edwin and Matthew pretend to be room service and enters the conversation between Erica and Erik in an attempt to save Erica^^

@WritingMan

The goal is to capture Hellburner who is most likely responsible for the murder of Nico.

sigh ... yes, Hellburner ... assuming he is even aboard. You don't even know what he looks like yet.

Uhm ... if Matthew and Edwin try to get in there they will get vaporized by automated security. Imagine running into a field of plasma - the sort that can knock out an incoming anti tank round.

That description was for when Hellburner is in costume.

Edwin: What kind of security do they have on that bloody ship!

Lol. That's true. They'll have to do what they can =P

I'm just going to have her tell the truth. We'll see how this goes.
Not the complete truth, right? You won't give out names will you? Edwin will be annoyed if you give out his name^^

LOL .. Quirky .. that is ERIK's security ... not the ship's. He does tend to overdo it. But then he did say that Erica and Sean were under his protection. Basically it is a force field of the variety currently in use in the latest real world weapon systems. The Brits have such a system. The US is working on one.

John Hughes actually ties into the plot with the force field system indirectly.

Ah, yes, Hughes...whatever happened with him? Jen and James were supposed to watch him, I believe.
