The Vigilante Code

That certainly is not my best piece of writing ever, but it should prevent me from holding things up. I'll have time to post all this weekend so that shouldn't be an issue anymore.

LOL. he thinks of Matthew as the son he never had. He's stayed out of his life though. If anything he finds Matthew amusing. But one thing should never have happened. Nico was Matthew's best friend ... and Hellburner killed him. As evil as Erik has been in his life ... even he draws a line somewhere.

Unfortunately, Erik is not the only Enforcer. And to go after Hellburner personally might be a problem.

Yeah, and Edwin's still gotta figure out Hellburder's identity too =P

BTW, is this a cruise ship where most people on board are rich, well-dressed, criminals or is it less formal? Does it have ONLY criminals on board or does it have regular passengers as well?

I'm trying to get a feel of what sorta ship Johanna Athene is...

No .. it is one of those huge cargo ships. It isn't a passenger ship at all. That doesn't mean it doesn't have any passengers. But those would be people like Muerte, prisoners, etc

And ... added Janice Rand to the NPC list

I think I've come down with something. I went to be super early yesterday, and still feeling pretty bad today. I'm not sure if I'll feel up to writing today. Going to take some meds and rest for a while.

Well, that sucks. Hope you feel better after resting.

Lol, I think I'm the only one here yet to fall ill. Mith still had his cold the last I spoke with him.

Well, once I get a cough, I can't shake it. Sharlene is like a horse. Hardly ever sick.

Lots of fluid, no milk or cheese, plenty of rest, and walk around a bit every now and then

If nothing else, we'll work on the side missions

Are you and Sharlene...married?

I'm good with side missions. Don't want writingman to fall too far behind^^

No, not married. But very similar backgrounds - profession-wise.

My last trailer was overdue for an inspection. Sitting on phone at the moment

Well trailer done with inspections. Trying to see if Dispatch will just have us take time off here ... or what. Really just taking a break after a couple months ... not like I HAVE to get home (ie for taxes or doctor). We just like to get off the truck to avoid burning out.

Quickie question: I take it if she talks, Edwin won't waste too much time getting her free?

Probably^^

@Mitheral

Sorry. I assumed that when sharlene had Matthew blink away, he didn't come back...didn't know you only wanted him to blink away for a second. My bad.

No biggie. Basically Matthew just isn't anywhere near as magically fast at escape tricks as Edwin likely is. He wasn't burned anywhere near as bad as with the flash bang. The lights were bright, but meant to make it hard to sleep, not utterly blinding.

And Matthew also doesn't want to drag Janice around. That would mean twice the porting in each direction. While he could do that, it was precisely why he only wanted one partner.

However, now he really IS thinking about sacking the money container for a 2nd time. The WOULD be ironic. Of course, if the ship doesn't leave port right away, he could do that a different night. Taking Hellburner isn't likely to make them up and leave. He has thought of that at least.

Lol. Edwin would probably go along with Matthew...since it's safer to tag along with the teleporting meta-human than try anything on his own. He's currently in 'take down hell-burner mode' so he'll prioritize important missions first.

However, he could definitely be convinced to go after the money container. He does need the money(for his stage) and he does kinda want to use the money to help Janice(the other one) out.

LOL, well if we could figure out how to get your character involved with this group, that would help.

Here's my problem. The character needs to fit with the group. OR ... be completely separate and have her own agenda - like Dark Knight. But what I am NOT going to do is have her just stumble onto a cargo ship of foreign registry and save the day. Tailing Matthew? Not going to happen. He's pretty much impossible to follow. Besides, on the ship Seo would just be in the way with Edwin and Matthew - more a liability than a help.

Hooking her up with Kassie might work. I would have suggested having Seo returning to the States or some test range in the Southwest. That would give her a reason for not responding to the initial text messages to the group.

IF a completely separate individual with her own agenda, she might be exploring a personal project involving a piece of military hardware off the streets - or perhaps the wreckage of a drone shot down by terrorists. (tactical hardware forensics).

I tend to be realistic with plots (within the RP parameters). There IS a distinct source for the latest military hardware the Hydra folks have on that ship. It is more advanced that the US military (mostly). I even have the names of the engineers and their back stories.

There is an equally dark plot ongoing with the good guys in this global conflict. There is another team of vigilantes out there that "failed" and are now being used to fight Hydra and eventually track your group. (Guess what happens to this team if it screws up?)

On the plus side, I just dangled Hellburner out there ... like bait.

Well, Sharlene and I are taking a few days off from work. So we'll be on and off constantly if anyone has posts or questions.

The level of intricacy and thought you put in this plot is...astounding.

Anyway just wanna let you know that I won't be posting until later today...or tomorrow. It's Easter Sunday I'm having a huge family gathering at my place.

Yeah ... was sort of expecting that. Darned family holidays. My family is scattered thousands of miles apart.

Uh-huh. My family's heavily Christian(mostly on my father's side). So Christmas and Easter are pretty important.

The original version of Hydra had:

7 Inner Circle (Shadowy leaders noone ever sees and they rarely ever meet)

7 Brain Trust (Makes policy and run the organization. Most were sponsored by a member of the Inner Circle)

5-6 Enforcers (... the number has changed. Each is a formidable force unto themselves, but lack the support structure to lead. They show up as villain Justicars to deal with members who stray and take orders only from the Brain Trust or Inner Circle.)

7 Heads of Hydra (Leaders of squads. Muerte is at this level.

For this version I removed the Inner Circle (and renamed the Brain Trust as the Inner Circle instead) and reduced the squads to 5. The original Inner Circle was just way too strong.
