Ok, sorry for the delay. I've edited the post. Didn't really change too much...just the parts that wouldn't make sense with the scene.
 
NP, pretty sick at the moment. Hard to even sit up. And I have a 10 hour drive to get ready for tonight.


 
Brains are working a little better @WritingMan The pic below is of a 20' double decker container home. Erik used a 45 foot container so that it blended in with all the other containers on the ship when he designed these. In the pic below the bed is on the top floor. In Erik's design things were rearranged - There are no windows, deck, or stairs. In place of the windows and deck are TV screens that simulate views. The stairwell is just a hall. Make a mirror image of the personal area (bedroom and bath section) and move it so that the stairwell sections are connected.


The Entry opens into a security station - with a pair of guards who work for Erik. He will warn you not to attempt to escape. There is a safe area outside of the entry about like a small porch. Beyond that and you will be vaporized. Of course, the same goes for anyone attempting to get in.

Not my best post, but I wanted to get a post in rather than add more to it later. Spent all day today on a project and probably will tomorrow too.
 
No worries. Conversations like this are a little forced and choppy. Erik is one of those egotistical, bored, veteran mafia Enforcer types. Although that is far too much of a stereotype to apply to him. He truly is one of a kind. Is he evil? Probably. Can he be trusted? That would depend on what he values. Find that and you find him. He had had only a very few friends in his life. Most are long dead.


Erica's name is one of the few reasons that he is even speaking with her.


Erik doesn't live on the ship. He lives in NYC. Yes, that means he likely knows about Dark Knight. He may even know about Matthew. Whether he knows anything about the rest of you? Probably not. He has likely heard about Nico though. That was in the news. There are things that go on in the criminal organization that even he doesn't know. Some of them would drive him into a rage. People are very careful to steer clear of permitting that.
 
Janice hasn't replied to Edwin's comment of 'having yet to hear her name.'


Can we assume that she did and move on, or should I have Edwin ask her again? I kinda wanna move the rp forward...
 
Whoops ... yes. I completely forgot. LOL, Erik had the same issue with Erica. Manners.


 
yeah ... Remember, Sean and Erica don't get captured until the evening. They are currently 24 hours ahead of you.


The plans to infiltrate the ship are a fallback plan in case Erica and Sean are stuck. Lori actually considered this when she suggested a two prong infiltration. Of course, rescuing Sean is gonna be tough. He'd too damned big to drag around even for Matthew. For what it is worth, Kevin has part of a backup plan for that already in place. But you'd have to be able to get Sean to the water. (Long drop)

Janice is fun too. Definitely got a personality that Eddie likes--since she's independent and he's not big on commitment.


Lol. So many things for Eddie and Mattie to do: find hellburner, rescue Sean+Erica, find ship logs. Obviously he can't do it all, meaning he'll have to prioritize =P
 
Well, Erik was once a character run by my Ex. But then she took the character from a book. Erik's motivations are very tricky. He manages a rock band on the side that noone has ever seen in the flesh. On stage they look like animatronics. And yet each has a distinct personality and walks around independently. They resemble a cross between Terminator and Grateful Dead art. So far their live performances have been limited to NYC.
 
Okay...I have no idea what to make of him. A rock band?


Lol. I'll leave it to writing man to figure Erik out. Glad I got Janice. Erik doesn't seem to be the type to reveal his life-story easily.
 
Yeah, Erik was bored. He could have stolen all the money he wanted (like someone else we know). But he also loves music. He is more than a little amused that a bunch of skeletal looking things have fans and not a mob looking to burn them.


Really the only reason that Erik came into this so early was that there was a medical issue. Juanita knows medicine, but she was partly the cause. Samuel hired Erik. Samuel was supposed to kill his brother, but refused.


 
Something you guys will find. My villains are often complex. They have lines they won't cross. Some have no limits and do anything they can to prove that point. Hellburner falls into the latter category. Erik could - if provoked. Currently there is a very powerful leash on his actions that prevent him from doing his worst.
 
I have to questions before I post Edwin's POV:


1. In the Kevin/ Edwin/Matthew, Edwin asked Mattie why he would bother keeping track of criminal activity? Does Mattie respond? This will affect what Eddie knows about Mattie.


2. What did Janice do with the ornament? Can't have Edwin try to take a peek at it without knowing where she put it =P

Edwin wants to earn Janice's trust more than he wants the purse. Lori's basically already told him that it's likely something stolen for the evil organization and suspects that Janice's not doing anything major yet. He figures his job is to keep an eye on her...possibly tail her later to determine what exactly her mission entails. Plus he believes in keeping your friends close, but your enemies closer. He thinks it's more advantageous to use the information she might provide.


But he plans on trying to take the purse anyway (Because he's Edwin =P)


His plan to take the purse:


1. Distraction by getting close(flirting...possibly kissing, but nothing more)


2. Using his sneaky sleight of hand fingers to take the case from the purse without her knowing. He only needs her to look away for a second. While he's not Matthew, he's quite good at that.

Good luck with that. She is literally guarding it with her life. It's value is enough to make a huge debt in the medical bills if not give her a chance to leave this life behind. The other contents of her purse .... are going to be unusual. Gemologists refractometer. Spool of 200 pound test line. Wire saw. Plasma torch. Lock picks. The fuzzy pink handcuffs. Certain sex toys, medications (Viagra), and contraceptives, superglue, latex gloves ...
 
Question: Does Matthew actually want to talk to Jake - meaning for Edwin to take Jake and Janice to his free clinic later that night? Would Janice even allow that? Or does that mean he would be returning to Janice's apartment later when night comes?
 
Matthew would need to make a house call. He isn't set up to transport Jake anywhere safely. Matthew figured he'd give you the chance to "seal the deal". (LOL, yes Matthew can be slightly immature about some things. Probably tells you what HIS level of experience is.) Yes, amy travel needs to be done at night. Matthew CAN get around during the day, but it is risky.)

I meant, does Matthew PLAN on returning to the apartment later that night? If that's the case Edwin may as well stay at Janice's apartment and wait for Matthew so they could coordinate the stealing(he'd distract her, steal the case, then pass it to Matthew when she's not looking).


Otherwise, he has no reason to stick around if Matthew wasn't serious about talking to Jake. He'd simply steal then leave after talking to Janice for a bit - well maybe a bit longer because he rather likes her :) .
 
I'm having a tough time deciding want I'm going to have Erica tell Erik. I think she is really torn on what to do.


By the way, at some point we'll probably want to get the characters together right? I've been avoiding reading what is happening with things Erica isn't directly involved in so she'll have to actually ask what's been going on with the other missions, unless we were just planning on skipping having them get up to speed with each other's events.

Where and when does Edwin plan to sleep? There is a spare bedroom - the Master bedroom. Janice will likely use her own room. Both stay maintained in case she has to play the part of her mother, but her parents haven't been around in years.

Lol. I'm totally reading regardless^^


Edwin and Matthew are only a day behind. They'll probably sneak on the ship Sunday night (when Matthew is active)after they report to Lori about Janice and Lori tells them that she lost contact with Sean and Erica.


As for what to say to Erik, either entertain him with a story (about something interesting like your life) or tell him screw you. One might make you friends with Erik...or might make him bored. The other option means you get to meet with Juanita faster.

Oh, yeah. It's 4am and Edwin hasn't slept yet since meeting Lori...well instead of taking up Janice's offer, he'll probably ask for a favor: to stay at her place for a while cause he needs his nap. After he wakes up in a couple of hours(afternoon) he'll find an excuse to keep her company until Matthew shows up. I'll think of something :)
 
@WritingMan Regarding what to tell Erik, there is the truth ... and then there is the truth. So far, what IS the truth as far as the criminal world knows it? Who are you and Sean? (They separated you for a reason. That is a fact that anyone familiar with interrogation techniques should know. If stories don't sync up ... then one is lying. And THAT is why Sean wanted to get stories straight first. Erica showed up late forcing him to adopt whatever was as close to the truth as possible.)


So far, all Sean and Erica have done is try to join an illegal cage fight. So WHY? What prompted the decision. It isn't as though Sean needs money. The best lies come from the truth.
