The Vampire and her inheritance (Alaross)

Maykiri

Nicest Alien Around
The woman sat across the the man, legs crossed, hand clasped in her lap. The folder of his resume was open on her desk, though she had simply glanced at it, her piercing leaf green eyes as she looked at his own. She didn't seem to move a muscle, simply looking at him, and occasionally breathing. Her dress was strapless, and a dark blue. The man couldn't see that she wore no shoes, something she didn't seem to care about anymore. Her hair was long, and curled, some resting over her shoulder and in her lap.

The room was a more modern room. Her desk was the focal point, being rather large and wood. The room also had some shelving behind her, and was filled with lots of books, though the shelving behind was filled with some very valuable artifacts, and was encased, a lock on the top and bottom of the door. Behind the man there was a case. It would be the first thing he saw when he had walked in. It held a book, that looked fairly old and in a language he didn't understand.

The man, Alex, simply looks down. His hopeful employer's gaze was simply too strong. She exerted some feeling of...importance. It was all he could do to sit there.

His eyes look around the room, impressed with it. After a while, he brings his light blue eyes up to her bright green ones, and speaks in a slightly wavery voice. "S-so...what do you think? Of the résumé, that is. Am I hired?"

Kasey tilted her head the slightest bit. She looked at him more and then cleared her throat. "What job are you applying for?" She unclasped her hands, lifting the folder looking it over, before setting it back down looking at him again.

"It will be a staff job, but I want to know what you want and I will consider it," She stood, closing the folder and moving to a shelf, pulling off a book that was turned, probably the one that she was currently reading.

"Well, Miss, I was...applying to be a butler...but I'd be willing to take any job, I don't mind. I learned housekeeping from my family, if that's what you need. I'm a pretty fast learner, so I could pick up pretty much what else you need me to."

He follows her with his gaze, and looks at the book in her hand, absent-mindedly wondering what the book is about.

She sat back down, setting the book on the end, and looking to him, clasping her hands on the desk. "I am going to give you a trial. Tonight I have an evening ball to celebrate my brother's firstborn's birthday. I want you.. do the job and if I like what you do, then you are hired. Follow me."

She stood and moved around the desk, and heading out the door.

He stands and puts the chair right where it was. "Uh, miss, if I may ask...what is it you want me to do as a trial? What does it have to do with your nephew?"

His potential employer seems a bit...strange. No, that's not the right word, she seems eccentric.

Kasey stopped in front of a closet and pulled out a uniform. She held it out to him. "I want you to be a butler. If you do the job good, then you get the job." She offered a smile. "Unless that's too much for you."

"Oh, that's all? It doesn't seem that hard. I was scared that you were going to make me do something near-impossible." He gives a weak smile in return.

"So, I just need to wear this and be a butler for the party? Should I know anything specific? Maybe some tips on how I should act?"

Kasey rose an eyebrow, tilting her head again. "Have you not worked as a butler, because my advice.. Alex.. would be to act.. like a butler." She frowned a little waving him and moved forward, walking down the hall. "You will have the rest of the day to figure out the walk from the door to the ballroom as well as know the cooks name."

"Oh. I...I think I can do that. I just need to figure out where each room is and talk to the chef. Yes, I believe I can do that. Thank you for this opportunity, Miss."

"Of course. The chef's name is Sasha. The ballroom is about fifty feet away from the front door. Next to the front door there is a walk in closet that is empty. It is made specifically for events such as this. Once everyone is escorted in from the front door, your job is to help the staff. You are the.. messanger between staff and the guests. If there is a problem, contact me and I will take care of it. At an event like this, you are.. head of staff. A butler is always head of staff. You basically my assistant. Think Chef of Staff for the President. That's what you are to me. Understood?" She stopped in the ballroom, turning to him.

He nods. "I understand miss. I'll do the best I can. Is there anything else I should know? And, uh, where can I go change into this?" He holds up the uniform.

Kasey smirked, pointing to her left, to what looked like a door, on this wall it was the only one. "Through the door is a hallway that has a male and female bathroom." She moved the opposite way. "Come through this door when you are done."

He nods and goes through the door. He comes out a few minutes later, wearing the suit. "It's a bit tight, but I think I'll get used to it. How does it look?"

Kasey looked up, tilting her head. "Good. This is Sasha." She smiled and put her hand on a shorter woman's shoulder.

Sasha nodded to him, narrowing her eyes. She wasn't the trusting type.

He sticks a hand out to the woman. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Sasha. My name's Alex. I hope we'll be seeing more of each other."

Sasha simply nodded, before going back to whatever she was doing.

Kasey waved him after her. Leaving the ballroom, she walked down the hall, somewhere deeper in house.

She stopped in front of a door, opening it. "Your room." She offered a smile. "No one today." She nodded and started off. "You have five hours to learn the house if you want."

"Oh, thank you. I'll take a look around and go back to your room when I'm finished."

((Can I ask who's available to meet?))

((Anyone, even Kasey.))

Kasey walked back to the front door, going out and heading to the gardens, time to get to work.

((Well, I meant what the options are, like who else works here?))

Alex walks back down the corridor to the kitchens, looking for Sasha.

Sasha looked up and to him, eyebrow raised. "Yes?"

Kasey went on to do some gardening work.

"I was wondering if we could just, y'know, talk. If we're going to work together, it'd be nice if we weren't complete strangers." He gives her a smile.

Sasha looked at him before going and returning her cooking. She did have to cook for tonight. "What do you want to know."
