The Unstealable Jewel (Exalted)

@Unbridled Originality How much of a Creation Ruling game is it?

I would like to invest pretty much nothing on offensive combat and a fair bit in Linguistics and Bureaucracy stuff, but are we actually going to this stuff?

Otherwise I can make a more combat focus-character.

Yes we are, Bureaucracy and group management will definitely be necessary. I'm playing a little fast and loose with CRM, because the straight rules are kid of dry, but this is a game focused on rebuilding/ruling, in-between plot hooks an adventures.

Yeah, I'm running an empire building game entirely without CRM, I find it a bit too messy.

Ok, I think my main focuses will be Larceny, Stealth, Linguistics and I'll invest also in Bureaucracy and Socialize.

Does anyone have any suggestions about Manses/Artefacts that could fit?

I'll be grabbing War. For secondary rulership Abilities, I'm considering Bureaucracy and Sail as well.

There aren't really a lot of artifacts and hearthstones that help with empire running, but some creative use of the manse building rules in OC can help a lot with infrastructure.

As an aside, for Gracious Word (AKA Cynis Ceral), he had Charisma 5, Bureaucracy 5, Negotiation specialty in Bureaucracy, Jewel of the Clever Merchant, and Savant's Icy Eye. Giving him a whopping 21 dice, before charms, to business deals and negotiations. There might be other Hearthstones out there to help, like Crystal of Legendary Leadership.

Ah, if you're just going for interpersonal stuff, there is no substitute for Stone of Inhuman Beauty. Well, that's not true, there there is anything else that gives you a boost to Appearance, like Infinite Resplendence Amulet or Wings of the Raptor.

I was considering the Gem of the Clever Merchant, but am not sure whether I want Artifacts/Manses at all, they would easily give Eel away as an Exalt.

Stone of Inhuman Beauty is as Obvious as you get... I need a face that doesn't attract the attention... ;-)

I would like to strongly recommend not purchasing manses at chargen, unless it's for the hearthstone, or you can somehow move them to Bumblefuck, the South.

I prefer Cult over Manse in point investment usually. Trying to hash out what to take though to be of use to the group. Is there any way I could make use of the Spies background as a personal investment? Or better off taking Followers to show my cadre of personally loyal agents? Thinking I'll go more with my initial spymaster idea with this guy by his building a personal cult of loyal agents to serve the city and himself. Sort of a secret police/spy agency to help deal with issues.

Three words. Verdant. Emptiness. Endowment.

You can still take the spy background, just like any exalt/heroic mortal, you just don't get the free dots of it from your patron as a renegade. Also the spies probably aren't loyal to Malfeas.

I would hope not when they should be worshiping me. :P

Alia is obviously going for Craft, Lore and Occult, expanding into Investigation and medicine, XP permitting. I want her to make training manuals with Linguistics too, and Archery / Occult are the best abilities for depopulating vast areas :D

Also, I'm planning to pick up Mind-Soothing Anodyne, so we can do a kindness to deranged/insane people we find. Who knows, it might make them our allies!

Not bad. It'd be more useful if we were in the East, though. "Raksiiiii, come here, we have a treat for you!"

Funny, that was the person I had my Dawn use Hastening Night's End on. It mainly revolved around chocolate ice cream as therapy.

Of course, her mate was an evil bastard Twilight who was manipulating her with Solar Charms. The results were... not pretty.

Goodness we are going to have a lot of Bureaucracy going around.

I was focusing on Bureaucracy, Socialize, Presence, Performance, and Occult to reflect an awesome administrator/negotiator. Might need to expand out.

When my old Eclipse picked up Hastening Night's End, the party Night decided to try to use the fact that she could heal insanity to convince her they should dig up a hekatonkheire whose unearthing would drive a quarter of the children in Creation insane.

Since she was the self-appointed guardian of Creation's children, pretty much everyone but him could see he was barking up the wrong tree.

Didn't help that she was a redeemed Abyssal, either. All of the self-righteous anger, none of the Limit.
