Fantasy The True Strength of The Warrior

Artorias laughs, "I doubt you could do any significant harm, and besides" lifts his greatsword, smiling under his helm, "It would be easy for me to crush you with this greatsword if you tried." Artorias put the tip of the greatsword into the ground. "And why does it matter if you know who I am?"

She gritted her teeth, honest to herself, she was afraid, but she turned to Adrian, "Run... now! I can hold him!" She raised her sword without effort and moved her other hand to the lighter sword to increase her swinging speed, her blue eyes piercing the hostile knight before them.

Artorias chuckled, stepping closer, greatsword shining slightly in the firelight. "Oh, you can hold me? Who do you think you are?" Artorias pulled his greatsword out, holding it steady in one hand, looking down into the blade. Artorias looked back up, meeting her glare. "I would suggest running."

She was no coward who would ever run from a battle, despite her situation, her feet were planted firmly in the ground, she then looked at Adrian once more, "Run! Dammit!" Her grip tightened on the hilt of her sword, her knuckles going white under the ornate-plate gauntlets. Her eyes returning to set upon the Knight, her stomach roared inside her from the lack of food and her body proceeded to tell her she was in no condition to fight, yet her heart wouldn't let her back down.

Artorias chuckled, casually walking towards her, greatsword dragging behind him. "So you're not going to run? Intriguing..." Artorias lifted his greatsword up, resting it on his shoulder, looking down upon her. "Why do you stay and fight? You know you can't win."

"Who says? Are you Myran herself?" She laughed a little as she looked up on the man, her sword was ready to move if he came any closer? She even steadied her grip as the chill bit at her nose, her hood was still up as the breeze ruffled the thick furs on the end.

"I, knight Artorias, say you can't, don't need to be divine to tell that." Artorias chuckled, taking a practice swing with his greatsword, swinging it in a wide arc. "How can a starving cold girl beat a knight? Especially one like me."

She back-stepped swiftly away from the arc as she gazed at him, "Pride comes before the fall, does it not?" She let a faint laugh cross her pale-pink lips as her sword was raised now in a full battle grip. Both hands were tight on the hilt, and her left foot was just a little forward to her right, the blades pommel rested at about hip level as the blade elevated from their, her hips turned slightly outward toward her blade as she readied herself. "There is no just ruler in this world, none, and I despise those that think they are."

Adrian raised his crossbow, looking for any chink in the knights armor. Maybe the eye slits... no. They would be moving too much if the two warriors came to blows. He noticed a small open area between the shoulder guard and breastplate, and decided to aim there if he had to fight. "Anna..." he said quietly. "Fight may not be the best option..."

"Adrian! I am telling you now... run!" She kept her eyes tight on the opposing Knight before her, his armor was indeed thick, but she would not have defeat in her heart, she needed Adrian to escape, so she wouldn't have to worry about two different people, she was going to care for him, but he needed to care for himself and see her to have less distractions.

"For the love of... fine" Adrian grunted, melting into the treeline. But instead of running, he climbed up a pine tree, hidden by needles and shadow. The knight wouldn't be able to climb up the tree in his armor, or reach him with his sword. He muttered to himself angrily as he propped up his crossbow on the branch in front of him. Adrian wasn't about to let the person he just saved die only a few minutes after.

She smiled a little at least knowing he was out of harm's way, her legs were now steady and her eyes were sharp as she tried to read the thoughts of the Knight, tried to predict how he might move based on his size, what he might do after that, it was just part of her to want to think several moves ahead.

Artorias slowly walked to the left, getting closer to Anna, greatsword held firmly as he swings again, missing, causing a solid thunking sound when it hit the ground, lifting it back up, holding it in one hand, stepping forward again, trying to bait her to attack.

"I'm no flower..." She dodged the sword and readied herself again, going forward with a quick overhead slash, aiming directly where his ear would have been if his helmet hadn't been in the way.

Artorias stumbled slightly, not really hurt yet off balance from his helmet getting hit by a sword, lashing out by swinging his greatsword in a wide low arc. Artorias quickly stood back up, holding his greatsword with two hands once again.

She jumped over the blade and evaded in one back-step quickly, the sword in her hand still firm and pointed towards him, "Come now, is this one of the legendary Knights that demand so much respect?"

Isaac was walking around in the town just doing noting but he was fed up with everything he was longing for battle mostly just to lead someone or help in someway so he did what he always did when he was angry, needed money or was to bothered to listen to the people in the down gripe about stupid things he went to hunt in the nearby forests.

and heard fighting going on

Adrian leaned forward, looking straight down the shaft of the bolt. He breathed in deeply, holding the breath. He had never fought a knight before, and his heart was beating at 100 miles per hour. He pulled the release, firing the bolt. It missed its target by less than an inch and glanced off his shoulder guard, landing in the water. Adrian cursed before leaping back into the treeline, taking refuge in the darkness. "This infernal weather..." he was shivering, throwing off his aim.

Isaac broke into a full sprint, he wasn't even thinking as he ran right past the guards of unknown origin and dived straight off the cliff and saw people fighting and landed in the freezing cold water.

Artorias stopped, having saw both a bolt bounce off his shoulder, and then that same bolt splashing into the water, a calm anger overtaking him. "Two on one, eh? That's your game?" Artorias lunges forward, showing that he's not as slow as someone his size would be, mainly due to how strong he was and how determined he was to end this, and brings his greatsword down in an overhead strike.

Her eyes shot to the new combatant, not sure whether or not he was ally or enemy, however, they already outnumbered the Knight, she intended to be the only one to fight him, but her plans had seemed to change as her flaming blue eyes followed the movement, she dashed forward as well, raising her blade to clash with his strike, her back nearly buckling from his strength as she winced, "Damn!" She gritted her teeth tight. "Run Adrian! Now! I really don't want one of those arrows ending me!"

Adrian sighed, shaking his head. This blasted woman... He slipped his crossbow onto his back and began leaping from tree to tree, getting closer to the man who had just leapt off the cliff. He was acting as an ally, but... you couldnt be too sure. Adrian places his hand on the hilt of his hunting dagger, not pulling it out, but ready to attack.

Artorias swung his blade in an arc, aiming towards her legs before jerking it up, planning on cutting her diagonally, panting slightly from the effort it takes to move quickly in the armor and swing his greatsword, yet didn't seem to care much at all, determined to end this fight for good.

Her armor caught with the diagonal strike and absorbed most of the damage for her, however she was thrown into the air and landed violently in the snow roughly 15 ft away. Her blade had fallen out of her hand mid-strike and was now about 6 feet away. Rising slowly from her back however, blood coming off of her lip she painfully got to her knee then stumbled in standing back up, thinking of a way to get back to her sword without his next strike becoming lethal.
