Earth has been visited by extraterrestrial beings that declared war on humanity days after arriving..
Small cities and towns have been wiped out almost entirely. Large cities like New York, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago have been tuned into what people call hubs. These Hubs are where humanity has gathered and hid, the US government build walls around these cities and used the modern AA guns to keep the alien ships from entering. There is a division of the United States Government that is called the "United States Space Corps." But Citizens just call it "The Program."
Many parents enlist their children in at a young age in hopes that they become a "Pilot" so their family will be on a ship to depart earth, very few people get this privilege. The Hubs are surrounded by outskirts that are filled with people who were unable to get in after the walls were sealed, the thousands that live in the outskirts live in fear and pray that their close proximity to the Hub will protect them.
Outskirts of the Hub..
Earth was once a place for humans to prosper at the top of the food chain, a place for humans to invent and do as they please. Earth is a place of horror, a place of pain, a place to leave. We’ve all seen movies where aliens have attacked Earth, in the movies mankind would eliminate the threat. In the movies man was able to do anything. In the world we know today man is forced into walled off cities, we are forced to adapt and adjust against our will. Mankind was conquered by extraterrestrials. Humans always theorized that we are not alone in this universe but many never thought that we would ever see anything living that wasn’t created on earth in some way. Without a warning these aliens attacked with waves and waves of ships. Governments around the world did what they could to protect Everyone. Now the government is lost and the controlling power is know as the Project. They are dedicated to sending mankind into the stars to find a new land, they protect the cities now called Hubs from the extraterrestrial threat using a mix of old and new world tech, everything from Anti-Air cannons to high powered lasers. These Hubs are the last stain of humanity on earth. No one knows if there is life outside the Outskirts of the Hubs, no one dares leave the areas. As for the Project, they communicate with other Hubs around the world, they work together to organize some form of government.
The Project has multiple branches, the most renowned is the Pilots. These men and women are commonly start training at a young age and are the leaders of the groups of people that are sent to find life on other worlds. Other branches consist of Mechanics which are trained how to maintain and repair ships, the Gunner who are trained how to use an array of weapons, everything from a handgun to a mounted cannon on the ship, then there is the Technician, like the Mechanic they are trained on how to repair and maintain the ships elections instead of the hardware like piping and armor that the Mechanics take care of. Then the ship is filled with citizens or family of the Operators. These are the people that no one on earth will ever see again once they are sent off.
