The Torn Banner

Cool, so that helps

The gasses would be less on the ww1 steam punk side and more on the magic realm side. Probably a hallucinateive gas more that strait up "kill you" gas.
You do know using these is going to be worse than necromancy for people, right?

Chemical weapons got so bad during WW1 that most countries signed an international rule made against it.
Necromancy, in most universes, is considered illegal by all of the land, usually killing those who use it (hell, even my realm dubs it illegal)

Considering that we are independent realms, there would be a possible chance for a faction to develop a weapon for more... sinister purposes, with government approval.

Well, reading my history, you know the centuar were oppressed as animals and slaves throat he great wars....so yea, think I have the motive.

Air superiority is going to be so satisfying once I start mobilizing the Eternal Confederacy.

Are airships more technologically advanced in this world than our's, and, if so, in what ways?

So yep, iv decided that the soldiers suits would have a built in gas mask (one of the ones that require filter changes and such, so the old ones). The poison smoke bombs would release a toxin which would first make the person's body cool, then they would expirence random numbness is random areas of the body, leading to full numbness, then leading to severe weakness (it would be at this point, they either pass out or fall to the ground paralized and in haze). Those affected would remain affected for about 2 hours, though it wouldn't matter (because that plenty of time to either capture of kill said enemy, it leaves options). The process would take around 15 minutes to come full circle, and requires constant inhaling (meaning simply, if they were to disperse the gas, run to clear air in time, or filter it in time, they would be safe, though would probably still be left with a high feeling and slight numbness).

As in the actual year itself in the lore? 1409 A.B.

In lore, the airships of these times are capable of holding cannons and other forms of heavy munitions, in contrast to our versions of airships. Essentially, imagine a warship in the sea, and now imagine it in the sky.
