What's a good idea, exactly?
Why would your character be rude? Seems like a needless flaw that would only prompt more arguments than there should be. after all, the character type you chose are tendentially pioneers, so they could use at least SOME unity and support around them before they screw up without anyone being able to reasonably say "well, he meant well."

Hmm.. Either some kind of moral struggle, i.e. the rogues try to convince the group to join their side, and while everyone else is like "hell no" part of him is like "imagine all the shit that I could reverse"


Ideally I'd like to slip in some sort of struggle with substance/alcohol abuse later on, but Im not sure how/if I could do it. It's a little traditional for me to do something like that with him, as in most variations of him that I've had, he's struggled with it at some point. Though, I dont think I'll make it a point for that to happen.

Like, he'd feel worthless and down at some point and that mixed with his previous anxiety and insecurities would lead to him thinking he doesn't deserve to be in the group of the good guys, which would evolve into him thinking they don't want him around and then that for that reason he should just leave or join the bad guys.

Not entirely sure what kind of character I was gonna use for this to be quite honest. Possibly the stoic, calm, voice of reason type character? You know, the levelheaded one who tries to calmly work out situations or something along those lines. He aspires to be a leader and be looked up to but typically isn't due to his reserved personality and lack of taking the lead on issues. While he attempts to work out situations and find the best outcome, sometimes the outcome that he sees the best is not seen that way by the rest of the group? And while he appears to be collected, he is actually an emotional wreck and has a very hard time balancing his own emotions?


In terms of powers... What kind of powers are present in this world? As in, what would or what not be accepted.

I like the sound of having a voice of reason. So far from what I've seen, we have an impulsive/bold character, a happy-go-lucky character, and an anxious wreck. I think having this kind of character would be a good balancer.

Well, why wouldn't the group be accepting of his ideas? Is he naive, like an "average Joe" character? Is he too cold and distant, failing to understand the emotional aspect of the matters? Is he selfish and cowardly and therefore goes against the moral code of others?


What kind of emotional wreck? I said this before (and again, I apologize if I offend), but I find these kind of characters, arbitrary characters, to be kinda dumb and lazy in the making. Also, there is already one person planning on making a character thatgat takes a "sarcastic and rude" character. Two of those in the same group equals plot stalled or that those characters get ignored after a while.


My suggestion would be that you make your character's flaws be based around the flaw that makes the other character's reject his ideas, and actually made him be calm and collected rather than that being a facade. Perhaps have him a little lost in common sense too? Dense? In that , he wouldn't understand that he was being insulted or that someone was angry at him, etc...Nd would therefore not loose calm, maybe that only happening in a situation where their lifes were threatened and then he'd panic?


As for powers, I think anything that's not OP , metagaming or excidingly restrictive for other players goes.

Sure, that would be a cute idea! My character is going to be 17 yrs. old (because the age range will be between 15-19yrs.). As far as powers go, my Character's power is to be able to spawn anything that she has touched before. So, if she's touched a rabbit, she can spawn as many rabbits as she'd like. If she's touched a weapon, it's the same deal. Just to give you a heads up Currently, the time is 7:05PM. I'm with my family right now, so I will be getting online to finish up around 8:30PM. The Character Apps. will definitely be done between 9:00-10:00PM !


Thank you all for planning things ahead of time! It will make character apps a lot easier.

My original intent was to make him the voice of logic member of the group that attempts to pick what he sees as the most rational manner of dealing with problems at hand. He is supposed to be the "balance" of the group and tries to be the diplomat/negotiator, not really someone who's ideas are rejected. More levelheaded if anything.


The consequence to this personality is he possibly thinks that certain solutions would benefit the group (in very specific scenarios, not all the time) that would be seen as ridiculous by the other members. Things like surrendering or joining the enemy to further achieve the group's goal, mostly along those lines.


The emotional wreck thing can be easily ditched. As with the "aspires to be a leader" trope.


I mean, basic summary is he is the collected guy who keeps his cool when the rest of the group can't. He has great common sense but possibly his morals can turn a solution he thinks is a good idea into a bad outcome or something along those lines.
