"Oh, what is this? Dear stranger, are you perhaps curious as to who I am, or where I am going? I will not bore you with detailed introductions, however I will tell you of the land that I seek to travel.

As you probably already know, this world contains traces of magic left by the gods. Within the kingdom, where as my destination lies, a single method of utilizing these traces was once banned to the people. 'Daemon Summoning', it is called, which, though powerful, is quite dangerous to those who are not strong of will. But, unfortunately for the old king, a pack of Neanderthals sought to bring this danger to the masses. He tried to deny them, he did, however it did not go entirely well. In the end, they killed the royal family and usurped the throne, allowing all individuals to have access to this magic. Killers are born by the day, as the summoners are not always found with good intentions.

However, distant rumors state that the princess still lives. Hiding amongst the masses, raised in secrecy. Coming of age, a party of adventures may appear on some mighty quest. The days ahead do look fun, don't they?

Perhaps even the throne will shake once more in the not so distant future? "

- Alexander the Cleric

Welcome! Excuse the exert from Alexander, I wished to have a little fun.

Within the world, there is little magic to be found, but the presence is still there. One of the stronger magics, Daemon Summoning was kept within the castle walls as to prevent the common populace from receiving it. Displeased with this 'greed', individuals rose up in attempt to free the magic for all. However, this resulted in the murder of the king, the queen, as well absolute chaos within the walls.

Our story takes place 12 years after this, where Daemon Summoning is now a part of the world, freed from it's narrow confines. However, in order to obtain such a power, one must find the stones before summoning. As such, adventurers appeared, in search of this power, some with good intentions, others not. Within these adventures comes an assortment of classes, Tank, Priests, Beast Masters, Weapon Masters, and a number of others. But what's more, on top of these adventures, what is to happen when the former princess is found alive, and seeks to take back the throne once more?

Thanks to @Kel Vas for the wonderful introduction to the world of Solis.

Check the overveiw tab for plot information, and stuff on classes, and whatnot. Also, you must read the rules. I will know if you don't.

It was a bustling beautiful early summer day as Xander had finally finished putting Chef Dulce's job fair stall together. The others had finished putting theirs together long ago and young men and women where sweeping through the field from one stall to the other enquiring about the type of work done their. It taken twice as long for Xander because of course Chef Dulce wanted his stall to standout so it was twice as big the others. Chef Dulce, a hefty man waddled out of the back of the luxury carriage he had been waiting in. The carriage creaked loudly as he stepped down releasing his weight from it. Regardless of how Dulce looked he was indeed a grand master chef with impeccable skill. He had proveno to Xander more than once, in the kitchen as well as at the dinner table that food was indeed, the focus of all his efforts in life.

"Are you finally finished, Xander. That looked terribly difficult to do. I'm surprised you could do it all by yourself. Well here is the pay is the pay i promised you. Shooo now, I have much work to do finding a new apprentice, ever since you abandoned me years ago." He said hastily throwing a pouch of coins at Xander and rushing him to be off.

Xander stopped solid as a statue as Chef Dulce fumbled hard into the him.

"Wait a minute old man. These don't feel right." Zander said opening the bag.

"We agreed on twelve golden coins. These are coppe coins. Copper coins!? You cheap greedy old bastard you could have at least tried to fool me with silver!"

"Alright, alright, pipe down, or you'll scare my job seekers away. I must have given you the wrong pouch is all. Simple mistake. Here." He said handing Xander the full bag of gold coins.

"Now there, satisfied." Chef Dulce says.

"Very" Xander says.

Dulce turns around for a split second to organize his stall when he realizes, Xander still has the copper coins as well. But when he looks around he realizes Xander conveniently has vanished, nowhere to be found.

A solemn beat echoed throughout the numerous trees, hooves striking against the forest floor in a decaying fashion as the narrowing path forced a trot. In days of old, this path was said to be used as an escape route for fleeing royalty. Hence, the narrowing path was truly the entrance from the other side, masked within the trees as to hide it's presence before widening within the forest to provide more sight. However, it is also said that the path existed for times of war, as it would essentially funnel the opposing forces who unwittingly followed the path. Perhaps the use of the trail was never really confirmed, but it was amusing to think of possible reasons for it's undisclosed existence. All that can be found completely true is the peculiarity of it's shape, as well it's current use for travelers and bandits alike.

Light shone within from the edge of the forest, clad in blue cloth, as if dressed for formality, the rider could be fully seen. An air of light-hearted nobility danced around him, due to the contrast of his attire and the lax nature that exuded from him. However, with the gleam from his horses side, one may note the lengthy shield holstering a sword. Despite his youth, this made it obvious that has was not some unknowing traveler who would openly prey into danger.

"Well well," He spoke, bringing his steed to a halt before dismounting himself. Keeping hold of the reigns, he proceeded forward, breaking the forest wall on foot. The land before him sheened within his eyes, as it was land he recognized. "It really has been too long, hasn't it?" A light chuckle escaped him as he took the moment to draw it in.

The forest was quiet very quiet. The sun shone in through the trees, trying to give this dark forest a little light. But the darkness was perfect to hide in, especially when hunting. At that very moment that's what Starfire was doing. She sat in the tree quietly watching over her prey, which happened to be a deer. Her village was a mile away from where she was. It was nicely hidden, so no one could ever find it. No one ever had, the only way they could would be for someone of the tribe to show them. She steadied herself in the tree, watching her prey. She pulled out her arrow and got her bow ready but she never took her eyes off of the deer. She then got ready to shoot. She aimed it carefully at the deer and then she let it go. The arrow flew but unfortunately, there was a noise and the deer moved out of the way. Instead the arrow hit the tree and just a minute later, a strange pale faced man came walking by with his horse.

He might notice the arrow, and know someone was there. But at the moment she wasn't really worried about that. She would watch travelers come by and always thought how different and strange they looked. He had long blond hair and strange clothes. She was always curious about the strangeness of how these people look. By mistake she made a noise, which made a bird fly out of the tree she was in. Shoot. She hoped he didn't see her. Then again she was hidden, so if he did see her maybe he would think it was animal. Hopefully. She watched carefully to see what would happen.

It was to the light of daybreak streaming through a gap in his curtains that Val woke up. He yawned, and when he stretched the movements were slightly stiff. He looked outside and was greeted by mostly empty streets, the night crowd moving back to their places as it grew lighter. Val was currently in a rather spartan inn room. There was a simple single bed, a small wardrobe, a desk and chair that he had fallen asleep in, and two doors, one leading to the hallway, another to his bathroom, which had a shower, toilet and sink. He rubbed his eyes as he shuffled over to the bathroom, grabbing a change of clothes on the way. He performed the daily necessities then went back to his room, wearing a plain shirt and pants. He shot a glance at the calendar pinned to the wall. It was the job fair today, he had been waiting for it for a while and decided to go out early so he could have longer to look around. He grabbed a hooded cloak in case it became colder, swung it on and set off.

On his way to the fair he went into a small family-owned restaurant, where he was greeted warmly by the owner, who he had helped out before. He had a nice breakfast of buttered toast with a glass of fresh orange juice before leaving. The job fair was set up in the main square and then it branched off into side streets because of the amount of people from age 18 onwards searching for their calling. The fair was really a bit of a festival of sorts with many stalls set up by people looking for workers or apprentices of all sorts, from chefs and tailors to merchants and warriors. He had even passed what looked like an circus, with clowns and jugglers.

There were several areas with chairs and tables where weary people could rest and some stalls sold food and drink, advertising their businesses. He had been walking around idly browsing the many stalls for quite a while and after a filling lunch he decided to take a nap. He walked over to a table with no one at it, set under the shade of a tree, and after a glance around confirmed there was no way he could be attacked without someone noticing, or him waking up. He sat down, folded his arms and hid his face in them, soon drifting into a light nap.

Xander had been walking around observing the people all day. He had eventually found a stall that sold his favorite snack. Fried thin cut potato sticks, man he loved these things. After finding another stall that sold mugs of homemade ale, he was in heaven. The sun was high in the sky and beaming down its heat. He noticed a nice shady tree to sit under but didnt quite notice the guy sleeping beneath until he was right up on him. He looked around. Their was no other trees around and he was desperate to eat the potato sticks now before they started to lose their succulent salty flavor. He decided it would just be a minute and plopped down next to the boy as he began to maul the heft sack of oily salted sticks and gulping his beer. He normally he had more reserved manners but he had skipped breakfast this morning, being rushed by the fat greedy Chef.

Val woke this time to a rather delicious smell and the moving of the table. He stayed still out of habit, keeping his breathing even as he peeked up from under his hood to see who had sat down at his table and nearly fell back from shock. There was a large man at his table taking big bites out of one of those potato-sticks he had likely bought at one of the stalls while also gulping down a large mug of ale. He looked to be somewhere near 25 years old, with a more muscular build then Val, and striking silvery hair. Val decided the man was not a threat and had likely sat down for lack of better place, so he feigned waking up.

Val straightened up, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes before pretending to start at the sight of the stranger.

*Yaw-* "A-ah! Who are you?" Val asked, not having to fake his shock at his first proper look at the man.

He was taller than Val had initially thought and his build seemed like a strong warrior who favoured larger weapons. He suddenly realised his first words to the stranger were rather rude and decided to try fix his mistake.

"Oh, I'm sorry, that was rude of me. I'm Val, what's your name?"

"Hmm? Shandwer, icks nysh to meech yoosh." The man said with a mouth full of food and looking around for somewhere to whip is greasy hands on. He eventually just decided to use the table cloth. He took a big swig of ale to help him swallow while pounding on his chest to get it down.

"I beg your pardon Val. I'm normally not like this but I havent eaten all morning and I tend to get rather ferocious when I'm hungry. As I said before, I'm Xander. Its nice to meet you. Would you like some salted fried potato sticks? They still have their flavor."

Xander said with a serious and straight face attempting to be friendly and share. He wasnt really good at being social but had learned a couple things while working customer service for Chef Dulce.

"Ah... I am feeling a bit hungry, but are you sure you want to share with me?" Val said, hesitating a bit.

He had only just introduced himself, and the man - Xander - was willing to share his food with him? Was he trying to get somethi- no, he was just being paranoid. Xander was probably just being nice, but it was a bit hard for him to accept kindness from strangers. He eventually decided to accept before thing got too awkward.

"Then, I'll have one, thanks Xander." Val told him, reaching to accept one of the sticks. It really was delicious, but as much as Val wanted to copy Xander's previous actions and quickly eat the potato stick, he still remembered the manners the Matron of the orphanage, Miss Mari, had taught him. Instead, he took some smaller bites, quickly reducing the salty fried potato stick to just a stick.

"You were right, they really are nice. This is my first time properly coming to the job fair, I just turned 18 not that long ago. Do you have any recommendations on what to look for?" Val asked, licking the grease off his fingers.

Zast awkwardly moves between the crowd. She couldn't stand the jeering, and the looks people gave her. She just wanted to go home, at least there people are already used on it. She's familiar with it, but the people in the city look at her as if she's something that belong to a circus. She don't like it, she never liked it. She glanced left and right, looking for a job that will suit her the most. She has approached a blacksmith stand, and two mercenary stands, but both of them laughed at her and tell her to go away. That she should be marrying a Giant and have an ugly child together. That hurts her, but she's used to it. Doesn't make any sense right? How could someone getting used to a bad treatment she receives from people?

Rylia waved goodbye to Amos, her caretaker for the past twelve years. She approached the adventures guild's stand. She looked at the job board. Nothing too interesting, except a som'reth dungeon box: sheep escorting, a razor claw and the like. She walked forward, and inquired into the som'reth box. Yes, the job was still open, and yes, she was hired. They were still looking applicants, so she went off to find some food. She got a bowl of stew, nothing fancy, and went to sit down under a tree. She was about to perch on the edge of the table, when she noticed the two men already sitting there. One, a smaller, delicate looking man, the other, a large, brutish man, devouring several yellow sticks. She had already spooned a mouthful a stew into her mouth, so she just stared at the pair while she chewed, then swallowed.

@Rigel @Vizriel

After Xander had told Val about some of the things to avoid - farmer's stands and the like, he told him about the adventurer's guild. They always set up a stand at the job fair with many requests pinned to their job board for adventurers to take, individually and in groups. Val was about to ask him more before a girl, who appeared to be around his age, sat down at their table, a bowl of stew in her hands and a spoon in her mouth. She looked up and seemed surprised to see them, but then, the tree did hide part of their table from view. He watched as she swallowed, and seeing as she seemed reluctant to start a conversation he introduced himself and Xander, who was busy consuming the rest of his potato sticks.

"Hello, my name is Val, and he's Xander. Pardon me, but I've never seen you around here before Miss..." He trailed off, waiting to see if the girl would introduce herself.

Rylia looked over the two for a moment more, then replied. "Rylia. Nice to meet you." She stuck out her hand, and shook Val's. "It's my first fair, I only just turned 18. But I live around here. I have for my whole life. So if you don't live around here, then you wouldn't have seen me before. it's a really big fair, huh? There are a lot of stands and stuff, but don't work for the thieves guild, they'll cheat you out of everything you own." She stopped for a moment, to suck in a spoonful of stew, then continued. "The farmers aren't much better. They charge really high for crap, so don't buy from them. Have you seen the Consortium's stand? They've got all manner of stones and stuff for sale. It's pretty cool, to see all the glowing ones. Those cost a lot more, of course, since they're harder to find, but they're still cool. Hey, have you gone to the local beastmaster yet? He's got a bunch of cool things, like three hounds, and like five cats, and lots of other animals. That's good for me, since I need a hound. I'm going to get one later...." She continued to ramble like that for a bit, then realized what she was doing and trailed off. "Sorry...I, um, I like to talk."

@Rigel

"Oh, it's alright, this is my first time here as well. I like to learn new stuff, so it's no trouble to me if you ramble a bit." Val said, putting on a friendly smile. He decided that the girl wasn't that bad, as she liked animals, and wasn't staring at him.

He
was always glad to learn things, especially when he might need/want the information in the future, so Rylia was actually being rather helpful. He decided to ask her if she knew more about the adventurer's stand.

"Say, Xander told me a bit about the adventurer's stand and the jobs available, but he didn't tell me where it could be since the stands sometimes change places each fair. Do you know where it is?" He asked curiously, tilting his head. He wanted to see if there were any jobs he could go on solo, or maybe with a team.

(got it. Won't happen next time)

Zast took a deep breath as she saw the Adventurer's Stand in the distance. That's her last chance in the job fair. If she got rejected again, then she'll come back home. And maybe help the smith until the job fair next year. And if she failed again, maybe she'll reconsider her life choice. Becoming a nun is not so bad, thought Zast doubt that she could memorize all the holy verse and prayers like a proper nun. Clutching her hand, she approached the stand. It looks quite crowded, and she had no idea who actually run this place.

"Excuse me?" She asked, quite loud to be heard by everyone. "This is the adventurer's stand, right? I'm looking for a job, any kind of a job that... will fit me."

"It's in the same place as it was last year. I just went there, actually, and got a job. Most of the jobs are awful, like sheep herding, a razorclaw killing, ect. The only good job is a som'reth box, and I took it, but it's a group job, so they need more people. So they sent me off to wait."

Val thought about it for a short while. It was a group job, which he wasn't good with, however, it was his first time going on an official job, so it would probably be better if he went with a group. Besides, Rylia said she had already signed up, so he would know at least one person. He spoke to the others.

"I think I will join your group - it sounds interesting." He told Rylia, before turning to Xander, who looked like he was nearly done with his food.

"Hey Xander, do you think you will join? Or do you have something else to do?" He asked, hoping that Xander would join as well. He did not want to know only one person, and although he could get along with others well enough, he felt strangely comfortable with his current companions.

@Vizriel

Xander thought about it. It seemed alot better than continuing to work for that fat greedy Chef. He was making good money from his escorting and bodyguard jobs but they had little to no action involved. It might be a nice change of pace to do some traveling and exploring out as an adventurer. And although he was a great warrior, he knew nothing about surving in the wild. It would be quite a challenge. And Xander liked a good challenge. But he couldn't forget his true goal. Finding those bastard that killed the royal family. That was his highest priority. Always.

"Alright. I'll join, but only on a temporary basis. I can't say how long I'll be able to do this. I have other important interests as well. As soon as they come calling, I'm out. But until that day I guess we're working together." He responded.

"I think we should head over now, so we can properly accept the request. Well, after you're all done eating." Val said, smiling at Xander. He was glad the other man had accepted, although Xander appeared to have been thinking about something before agreeing. It seemed to have been quite serious, as he had seen an emotion flash across Xander's face, too fast to be sure of what he had seen. Val hoped he hadn't brought up any bad memories - he had only met the man that day, so he couldn't be expected to know what topics to avoid mentioning.

Val was aware he could sometimes appear shady, after all, being so hard to notice (and suddenly disappearing whenever patrols passed by) was rather suspicious. But he could not help that he was a thief - it was one of the jobs many street children had after all, and his light steps and quick fingers had lead to earning a moniker among the other thieves - "The Fox" was his name at night, what he did not allow the people he knew who were ignorant of his 'night job' to know, such as the nice couple who owned the restaurant, and his new... companions. He did not feel fully comfortable calling them his friends yet, as they had only just met, but they were more than mere strangers. He felt they would be important in the future.
