The building was worn down, muted red bricks and a foggy window greeting any curious passerby. However, it was clearly maintained as best as the poor owner was able. The red tulips by the worn out yellow door were fresh and alive, the welcome mat kept neat even if it was missing patches. Inside, the effort was even more clear. Items up for sale were neatly arranged on the wooden shelves and tables in middle of the floor. Any rugs were vacuumed and the rest of the wooden floor was swept and mopped.
As for the items themselves, it was a strange arrangement. It was mostly decorative items, ranging from porcelain dolls that stared with unblinking eyes to lamps to painted portraits of people long forgotten. The only anomaly was the tanned sheet covering a large, thin object hidden in the corner.
The elderly man that kept the antique store was on the opposite side of the room, currently scribbling some notes into a book at the counter. A pencil rested on his ear even though the man already had a pen in his hand. It stood out clearly against his short white hair and pale, wrinkled skin. The man frowned, looking up from his book to the door that rarely opened and breathed a small sigh.
