The Stolen Thief

(She already stood up.)

Ezra wiped her hands on her pants. She turned to face the knight folding her arms across her chest. "I thought knights were supposed to treat ladies with respect. All proper with manners and everything. At least that's what's told in them stories. You ain't seem like any kind of knight I heard of."

(Oh right I misread the last part sorry <,<))

"In what part of society are you classed a proper lady?" He looked the girl over. "Even if I was to you don't seem the girl to want that kind of treatment. He watched her then went to start walking.

Ezra gritted her teeth walking after the knight. "If I ain't a lady then what am I? A boy? Or am I not even fit enough to be human because I ain't got as much money as y'all. And everyone wants to be treated with respect. If you think otherwise then you're thick. Don't pretend to know what kind of girl I am. You already took the small amount of freedom I had. You ain't gonna take nothin else."

"I will do you a deal. You actually help me and I will treat you as a lady." Jon looked back at her. "Deal?" He was still really tired and getting hungry which was making him annoyed. He would not usually treat any women this way if he wasn't in such a frame of mind. He looked round the forest floor going quiet.

Ezra crinkled her nose in distaste, but didn't protest. "Fine, but if your princess sentences me to death or something like that then all bets are off." She followed his gaze to the floor. "If you're looking for your shadow, it's behind you." she pointed out trying to figure out what he was looking for. "I thought we were going back to the princess for judgement."

He looked back at his shadow and nodded but whispered to her. "I think I saw an animal. More food is better first." He was going to have to give her a meal whether death was the penalty or not. plus a fox was a lot of meat to pass up. He turned back to try and follow the aimal. He was a bit heavy on his feet making sounds by accident, much to his annoyance.

"You going to stab it with your sword?" Ezra asked, following lighted footed behind her. She had practice in sneaking up on things- well mostly people. But it had to work the same with animals, didn't it? "You know food ain't the first thing on one's mind when one is facing impending death." she retorted.

"Well she probably isn't going too. plus do you want a last meal?" He asked back drawing his sword. The fox sitting and resting, facing away from them. The knight was going slow and trying to me more carefully as to not scare it off again.

Ezra shook her head. "No, I don't want a last anything." she replied bitterly. "It ain't funny to make fun of someones death like that." She sat down watching the knight try to approach the fox. She picked at the grass in boredom, not interested in wether he caught the animal or not.

*He didn't after getting close enough to strike he stepped on a twig braking it. He turned back to her and huffed. "I never meant to make fun." He went back over to her. "Let's get back then, so you can find out."

Ezra pushed herself to her feet and turned around walking back to way she came not much int he mood to make another snarky come back. She folded her arms across her stomach keeping her eyes on the forest floor as she walked sure footed back toward the camp silently.

He walked quietly beside her, looking at the ground. The blade still in his hand. It didn't take long to get back. Once they were Arya came over to them thoughtfully, wondering who the girl was and why they were gone so long. The knight took the bag and placed it down. "Sorry for the delay my lady."

Ezra looked up at the princess coming to a stop beside the knight. She shifted her weight between feet. "Yeah, sure we are." She rolled her eyes turning her head to find something interesting about the tops of the trees in the distance.

The princess watched the girl frowning. "What happened?" Jon elbowed Ezra for her comment.

"She stole from us and I brought her back for you to choose what to do with her," he looked at Ezra. "Want to add anything?"

Ezra rubbed her side frowning at Jon. She nudged him back with her elbow while he spoke. "Oh, yes I want to say a lot of things, but you both probably wouldn't approve due to your thick skulls."

Jon rolled his eyes. "Fine, what shall I do with her my lady? Kill her or can you think of another use for her?" The princess' eyes widened at kill she didn't want to do that however this girl didn't want to be stuck with them either. Not that death was the solution to that in her mind. "Well, I think for now just have her in your sight and help you. I am not sure death is the best yet." The girl didn;t seem much older than her.

Ezra stepped away from Job. "Another use for me," she repeated. "Do you think I'm a slave and you can with me what you wish?" she glared at Jon in distrust. "You're going to decide on a punishment and then you're going to let me go. That's how this is going to work. You have no right to 'use' me." She turned to face the princess who seemed to be more stumped than the knight. "death is not the best option- yet. You choose to kill me now or you choose not to. You can't have both."

Jon knocked Ezra's leg slightly. "Well I could practice by killing." The princess frowned at knight. Then looked at Ezra. "Not killing you. What I said before, helping the knight, Jon."

Ezra shook her head. "I'm not a knight. I'm not one to lift a sword for anyone but myself." she stated. "Why do you think I'd be willing to help protect you? Although if you'd give me a knife, I'd be awfully willing to protect you from Jon." she stepped away from Jon again, trying to keep out of reach. "Don't touch me."

{My apologies.}

The princess looked at Jon for help then back to Ezra. "You wont get a sword. You may have little daggers though. You will just shadow him to help when he requests it." She looked more stern however still a little unsure. Jon frowned at the fact of her being given daggers, that would make life harder for him however he wasn't going to question her. He bowed his head to Ezra. "Very well."

Every instinct in Ezra told her to grab hold of the daggers and run. Instead she gripped them and turned to face Jon. "Your princess trusts me with a knife." she taunts. She placed most of the daggers in her trouser pocket, rolling one of them between her finger expertly. "Maybe she too wishes death upon you."

"I would like to see you try." He her growled at her. Arya frowned. "Stop arguing. If i can't trust you with them I will have them back." Arya said sternly. "Now can we start getting breakfast ready? I am starving."

Ezra turned back to Arya. "You should have thought of that before handing them to me." she warned the princess. "Taking them back will be a lot harder then giving them to me. I'm not just going to hand them over."

"I wont be the one taking them. The ~Jon will. He is even heavier with all his armour and much more protected." She said turning to the fire where she had already started cooking. "Now do you want to threaten us more even though it is clear Jon will win when you run and I am sure he would in a fight too. Or do you want to eat with us?" She looked back at the girl as Jon sat facing the fire and Ezra.

Ezra took a stop closer to Arya. "But the thing about Jon. He's all the way over there." she gestured toward the fire. "So he has to make a choice. He can help you or he can chase after me. He can't do both." She explained before slamming her knife into Arya's shoulder and then taking off running.
