Prince Vane sighed as the beautiful girls flashed before him, smiling from their applications. He knew he should be excited, but he couldn't help but feel a flicker of uncertainty. What if they disliked him, or, even worse, what if he disliked them? As his emotions flared, a sudden burst of flames erupted from the prince's hand, causing him to incinerate an application. Pull it together, Vane, he chided himself. This system had worked for generations,and it would continue to do so. It had too, for the kingdoms sake if not for his own. He wanted to be a good king, and every good king needed a good queen beside them. This is my chance, Vane thought; my chance at proving myself. I had better take it.
