The Second Griffon War (Casual Thread - All welcome!)

Leper would wave a hoof, "It doesn't bother me if you needed help, I don't mind." She'd say, nodding to him, "The war has been making problems for me... My family isn't doing very well anymore, and my father got drafted..." She'd explain, looking at the ground, pawing at the tile with a hoof, "I hope he's alright..." She'd mutter, thought still loud enough for him to hear it.

Leper would look at Whisper, giving him a flat look, "He was drafted into the Gryphonstone Military." She'd say simply, then look away, focusing on something else, "I was raised by Gryphons." She'd explain, not looking back to him.

he would shift uncomfortably
"Oh. Oh....."
Whisper felt sweat on his neck, though he tried not to judge.
"I'm not sure how to think of that."

Leper would stand, shrugging, "Feel however you want about it, it's my parents, not yours." She'd say, looking away, then down to her sword, "I'm heading off, I need to start getting some supplies for my travels, and I'm not waiting around longer to get dragged into the equestrian army." She'd continue, before picking up the sword, redoing the sling.

When Trixie woke up, she'd find Starlight asleep on the chair next to her hospital bed. She had cme here with the Clrics, not leaving Trixie's side for a second except for when they had to operate. She had stayed awake and watched Trixie a lot while she rested. Thinking, as she had plenty of time to think, about Trixie, and about her and Trixie. She wouldn't propose again so soon after the last attempt was such a failure, but she would make it clear to Trixie that she would be in love with her for life. She was also thinking about the Griffins, and the war that started this, but she didn't dwell on these as those thoughts were nothing but rage and pain, and the desire for vengeance.

The moment Cadence's magic returned, she had taken over the role of supporting the shield from her husband, allowing him to recover. After the city was deemed safe, with the Princesses on standby in case another shield was needed, Cadence went to find her husband, when she ocated th room he was in, she shut the door, and took a deep breath. She looked into Shining's eyes with her own reflecting the pain and loos, as well as the guilt she felt in having to break this to her husband.

"They took Flurry. The griffins took Flurry."

Exhausted from the pomp and ceremony of the past few days with no time to wash the bittersweet taste of loss from her mouth, the new Solar Commander sat in her office. With a leader who respected Luna both as a military leader and a Princess, the Solar and Lunar armies looked to be united now more than ever. Any friction between them was reduced to a rivalry overnight, especially as gossip spread that as a rookie, their new leader had a crush on the Lunar Commander and sent him a Valentine's card several years ago, something the new Solar Commander would very much like the soldiers to move on from as she needed to be treated with respect from now on.

Arcus sighed. This is what her family had wanted. What she'd been aiming for. But now she was on a level above her friends. She was now the boss instead of one of the soldiers. She lost almost all of her friends overnight, It felt like. Plus she was now expected to practice herself instead of be drilled. It was...lonely. Maybe Avedon was right. She should get herself a secretary. The ease of workload would be nice but the main reason would just be another pony to talk to.

Princess Luna stared at the changeling hard, and slowly nodded her head. "... I believe you. I've seen firsthand how bad those hives can get, and I certainly don't blame you for trying to escape. I trust fully that, given your current situation, you aren't lying to me. I can't sense that you're lying, nor do I believe you would have any reason to if you have any instinct of self preservation."

She sighs and rubs her eyes tiredly, just shaking her head. "But that still doesn't help me get any closer to my children. Not your fault, obviously, you can only know so much. But why would the Changelings ally themselves with the Griffons? There's only, at most, a few thousand of those Changelings left... the rest all converted and follow King Thorax. So why now..."

Tyrus would shrug, "I don't know, it could be for the love, and the hive did it for survival..." Tyrus would shrug again, "Maybe the Gryphons have something the Changelings want?" He'd ask, looking to Luna slowly, before drinking some more of his tea.

"Protection, perhaps?" Luna tapped a hoof to her chin and simply shrugged her shoulders. "Their population is low. Perhaps the griffons offered them protection in exchange for serving in the war? Or perhaps Chrysalis found a source of food within the Griffon Empire? It's hard to say for sure." with that, Luna stood up and the lights came on in the room. "You may go now, Tyrus. You will be watched, but otherwise just go about your business like you normally would."

Tyrus would nod slowly, going about putting his earrings back in, looking at her, "I'm... Sorry, that I wasn't of much help..." He'd say, looking down as he finished, slowly getting out of the chair. He'd look at her, a smile weakly, "You scare the hell out of me." He'd say, giving a weak laugh, and a feeble smile.

"...Stay safe. And try to stay out of this war. We don't need good ponies or griffons or whoever dying."
Whisper said sincerely.
"You seem really nice, and I'd hate to see you hurt"

Leper would look back, waving, "And stay safe in your travels!" She'd respond, before leaving. When she left the hospital, she thought to herself, Why do I get the feeling I'll be running into him again...

Leper would be sitting in a hospital room, looking... well, maybe she was upset, it was somewhat hard to tell honestly, she didn't have a face, as her mask was sitting on a bed table. A doctor was currently out in the hallway, yelling a guard for his rude behavior towards those born with defects, though Leper couldn't care what the guard had thought of her, she did find it funny at the fact the Doctor had the guard reeling from the medical pony's anger, it was impressive.

Either way, Leper would let out a raspy sigh, laying down on her back against the bed, making sure to keep her hair off her flesh, "I still can't 'elieve thishhh... A wasssht ah tiiime."

Translation (I still can't believe this. A waste of time.)

Expellix also heaved a sigh, rubbing his face somewhat wearily. He'd been at this damn hospital all day. All the white was starting to make his eyes sore, surely they had the money to at least change it to something else for once? He really hoped not all pony hospitals were like this, they could do with a splash of color. Regardless, he had a job to do, so he was going to do it. Healing the wounded. Yay ...

He paused when he heard a doctor yelling at one of the guards, passing by him. The doctor stopped, glancing down at the bunny. "Could you look after my patient for a moment?" He asks, and then, without even waiting for an answer, walks away. Expellix gave him a flat look as he left. Seriously, he was bothering himself with the guard when he had more important things to do? The nerve!

He entered Leper's room. He took a look at her, studied her face for a moment, and ... didn't even bat an eye at it. "Hello. It appears your doctor has decided he has other things to do, like dealing with stupid guards." He mosied around, going over to the doctor's supplies on a counter and hopping up to it, starting to rummage through. "What are you here for?"

Leper would look over at Expellix, giving a dry sigh before motioning to her face, "Eye facsh." She'd say, slowly sitting up. Her greatsword would be propped against the wall in the corner, left out of her reach by the guard. She'd stretch, before reaching over for her mask, "Shaary ifgh it 'others you." She'd say, trying hard to get the words out properly as she put the mask on, which Expellix would notice there has been a wetcloth sewn to the inside of it, likely to put some moisture onto the exposed flesh.

Leper would sit on the bed, looking at him, not really seeming shocked either, that she was now likely going to get into a conversation with a rabbit, "What. Do you w'ant?" She'd ask, trying very hard at this point to speak.

Translation:
"My Face." "Sorry if it bothers you."

"What do you want."

Expellix glanced over in her direction. "Your face?" He echoed, laughing and shaking his head. "Oh, don't kid yourself. I've seen a lot worse than that." He responded, his chuckles continuing for a moment before he fell quiet. After sifting through the tools for a while, he just shook his head and stood back up straight, scratching his forehead. "And don't put the mask on. Since your doctor decided to go screw off for now, I'm going to do a quick check myself."

He jumped off the counter to the bed, landing very neatly next to her. He looked at her pointedly. "Come on, off with the mask, let me have a look. I'm a doctor here ... sort of. I don't have the PhD but I am good with light magic." He was speaking honestly here. Lying just wasn't his thing. "If I even have a thought that something might hurt you, I'm not going to do it. I'll leave that up to somepony more experienced than I."

Leper would lean away from him, hissing under her breath, "I wash 'orn thish way." She'd say, trying to glare at him, though it really looked more like she was trying to pierce through him with a stare. She'd watch him for a moment, before slowly removing the mask again, "Don't do anythin' sstuid." She'd say, watching him carefully as she leaned back towards him.

Translation:
"I was born this way." Don't do anything stupid."

Surprisingly, the rabbit wasn't frightened in the least. Actually, he looked a tiny bit amused by her response, despite his somewhat bad mood. "Born with it or not, it's your face you're here for so that's exactly what I'm gonna be looking at. Unless you have other physical ailments that I'm unaware of?" He raised an eyebrow in question at her. As soon as the mask was off, he floated up in the air slightly, leaning in a bit closer to look. "Do you feel any pain? Swelling?" He asked after a moment.

Leper would roll her eyes, "Only when there is a 'reeze..." She'd say, watching him carefully, her forelegs tensing up. She had one yell of a poker face... Leper would try to smile, the muscles tightening on her face, before she stopped, her eyes twitching, likely from pain, "I can't really do 'uch like thish." She'd explain, shrugging.

Translation:
"Only when there is a breeze." "I can't really do much like this."

Expellix nodded slightly. His paw glowed slightly and gently gave her head near the back a gentle push, urging her to turn her head to the left. "There isn't much I can do for you in terms of healing for this since you've had it for so long ..." he started slowly, "but I can probably help ease the pain a little bit. Was there anything in specific with your face that needed looking at?"

Dumbledoof Dumbledoof

Leper would sigh, "I didn't ung here willing, I was 'rought in eye the guard." She'd say, looking at him, "I lid with this, for all eye life." She'd strain to get the words out. She'd cough, shaking her head, "Iggh you can hel' with the 'ain, then do it." She'd growl, staring at him, unblinking, which she already couldn't do, but it seemed like magic may have already been done to help with that.

Translation:
"I didn't come here willing, I was brought in by the guard." "I live with this, for all my life." "If you can help with the pain, then do it."

GeneralTyrus GeneralTyrus
Expellix rolled his eyes. "You know you're able to tell the guard no, right?" He asked sarcastically, rubbing his forehead. "Just hold still then."

His paw glowed and a warm heat started to radiate from it, along with golden light. He passed paw oveer her face, holding it in a few areas specifically. The magic extended, working into her body to do what it could, however limited it was. He may be good with light magic but he was no Princess Celestia. Using too much of this would burn him and he didn't have the capabilities of healing genetic damage anyway. He wasn't sure if anybody did. She would at least feel the muscles loosen, tension leaving them, and then a numbing sensation come as the pain ebbed away.

After about a minute or two, the magic faded away and he pulled his paw back, nodding. "There. All done."

Dumbledoof Dumbledoof

Leper would watch him, before trying to smile, the muscles tugging upward, and she was surprised that the pain was still there, though not as bad as it had been, and for once in a while, she began to let out a guttural laugh, practically whooping.

She'd stop after a bit, coughing, before looking to Expellix, nodding, "I would say you are the firssht 'ony, 'ut you are a ra'it, sho, I thank you for thish." She'd say, chuckling.

Translation: "I would say you are the first pony, but you are a rabbit, so I thank you for this."

Expellix tried to give her a smile, but it ended up with him just looking flat. He was still upset over what happened to Trixie and smiling just didn't feel right. He just wasn't in a happy mood even if she was, and he wasn't keen on talking about it to anybody either. He hopped down off the bed.

"Take your leave whenever you'd like, or wait and tell the doctor I did his job for him." He made his way to the doorway, opening it with his magic. "You're free to go."
