Responsibility Demands Sacrifice
Humans have long been gone from the earth...whether killed, in hiding, or exploring the far reaches of space no creature knows. What we do know is that winter has come...and we are alone. New intelligence has crawled into our minds like a predator, unnoticed until it is to late. Instincts are going to war with feelings and dreams...Where before it was every rat for him or herself, clans have developed. Where before it was only about competition, survival, and reproduction...now it is about something else. What? I do not know...for the better or the worse... times have changed.
