The Saving Grace of Destruction

"Please Jess, come back!" Elle begged. She didn't want to kill her friend. Her leader. The woman was powerful but she had lost a lot during her battle with Laz. The blood high was still in her veins and it made her different. Almost mad. Maybe if she had time to let the high come down, she would be back to normal and not be this killer she never was.

"Fuck you you stupid snake. When I get out of this, Im going to rip you apart and then I'm going to eat that girl alive so she feels ever..." Before she could finished, Elle sliced her fingers down her arm. She couldn't kill her but yet she couldn't let her go. She would have to be put down for the time being. Elle injected enough venom to paralyze the woman but not kill her or cause organ failure. She could only go numb and fall asleep. It would take hours for her to get full function left and they would already be gone by then.

"I'm sorry..." Elle whispered as she unwrapped the whip and laid her friend on the ground. Jess's eyes were wide and full of fear. The red started to fade from her natural beautiful brown. Already the venom was doing her work.

Elle stood and backed away. Jess was already unmoving and eyes closed by the time Elle had turned her back. There were tears in the corners of her eyes but she did her best to hold them back.

"Lets go get our stuff....." Elle walked away from them both and hoped that Piper would follow behind and not ask question. To everyone else, Jess looked dead but Elle knew she was only sleeping. She hoped that Jess would have the will to fight and become herself before they met up again. Next time, if Jess was still like this, one of them would have to die.

After a few tree lengths from the body, Elle held up her hand and turned to Piper. "Do you mind if I carry you again. That way you can save your strength and we can get back to our stuff faster?"

The pacing stopped as Piper heard Elle beg the other girl to stop her fighting. Looking over at the two, Piper watched with a slightly sad expression for a few moments before turning away. Opening her hand, she let blue fire spring up from her palm again, keeping the flame low as to not attract attention. Watching the flames dance, she wondered what the heck all of this meant for her. After 4 years of just traveling around, she hadn't had any clue as to what her power meant until now. Dropping her hand, she cast her gaze up to the sky as she then wondered if her parents missed her or not. Sighing and shrugging that off, Piper stuck her hands in the pockets of her pants as she waited for the Elle to finish everything up.

Leaning against a tree, her eyes closed again as she stood there relaxing, tuning out the other two as they spoke. She didn't want to listen in, it felt like she was intruding on something personal. A few minutes later, she heard Elle say they should go get their thing. Opening her eyes slowly, she watched the retreating back of the taller girl for a moment before looking back. Piper's eyes widened slightly as she saw Jess just lying there. Looking back at Elle, she turned and jogged after her quietly, not saying anything. Hell, what could she say? Besides, based off of how Elle was acting, bringing it up probably wouldn't be the best idea anyway.

Almost losing herself in her thoughts once more, she didn't notice the other woman stop walking and walked into her hand. "Wha-ah sorry...what was that? Carry me? Uh no...not really? Thanks I guess...where we going after getting our stuff?" she asked, tripping over her words a little. Running a hand through her long hair, Piper let out a soft sigh and smiled faintly. "Personally, I hope it's somewhere where I can rest. I'm feeling a bit tired and I wanna put some ice on my head still...how're you? Are you okay?" she asked looking up at Elle, worry hidden behind a fairy neural expression.

She stopped though and held up her own hand slightly. "Wait, are we traveling together after we get our things? I sorta just assumed...or are we splitting off? I mean, your life isn't mine, it's yours regardless of who save who and all..." she asked becoming a bit weary towards the end. Rubbing her head, she let out another sigh. "Oy, this is starting to be much for me, I must be getting old." she joked with a small laugh.

Elle smiled at her and patted her on the head.

"I'm fine. That was a bit hard for me. She was my friend once. She is the whole reason I'm free. And your not too old. This has been my life style, not yours. We are use to this...your not. You have been through a lot today." Elle wrapped her arms around Piper and lifted her up to carry her. She walked for a second, Piper being carried in her arms. She wanted to wait a second before she started running.

"My life if yours if you want it or not. That just how we are. Or at least some of us are. If you truly wish to split ways, then I will understand that. But I would like to stick around....this world is about to become a battle field. Right now its just this forest and a few disclosed small parts but once they release then all....the world will be in chaos. You have a gift that can be powerful is used right and develop but I'm sorry to say you wouldn't last a minute up against some my kind right now. They were trained day and and day out to kill, to fight, to survive. We were pitted against each other and treated like nothing. If one of us died....there was one to bury us. We were thrown into fire pits and burned. Most of us can't even read or write. I can but that is thanks to Jess. She stole a book from one of our masters and taught me to read and write."

Before saying another word and without much warning, Elle bursted forward. She held on tightly as she ran through the trees back to their stuff. She didn't know what she was going to after they got it or where to go but she would figure out something. If Piper decided to stay with her, she could have to find shelter for Piper. Elle could live outside and sleep in a tree but that was because it was better then being locked up. She knew Piper came from a normal life and would need normal things sooner or later. Even this was to much for her it seemed.

This time Elle was faster then before thanks to the blood. She wondered how long this would last or if it would last for good. She didn't know if the effects would wear off with the blood or if it unlocked something new inside her. But regardless, she was still faster then before and made it to the spot in no time and with no energy wasted. She let Piper down and smiled.

"That was amazing! I feel so fast! Faster then before!" She jumped around and stretched. It really did feel good. "Now, as for you. Would you like to travel with me? I can protect you and help you develop more. We can go into the city and find you someplace to rest. Typically I would say we would stay there but soon the world will be covered in blood. Not only will my kind eat and kills yours but they will kill humans too. They will go from city to city and slaughter who they can. Very soon the world is going to fall. So, will you let me protect you?" She smiled but her eyes were serious.

Piper scowled faintly as the taller girl pat her head but cracked a small smile as she went on talking. Shrugging, she had no disagreement to her statement really. In a sense, she really was just getting used to this all. Sure she'd spent the past four years in her new life but for the first 18, she'd spent her life in a completely different world. Sighing, she just leaned into Elle slightly as she was picked up. It was a weird feeling, she hadn't been held in any type of way for years and it was rather comforting. The happy feeling faded as Elle promptly told her she basically had her life whether Piper wanted it or not. Making a sour expression, she pouted slightly, not really meaning her playful pout but still bothered by the apparent fact. She remained quiet however and listened to Elle as she told her about what her life had been. Piper was unsure how to really respond to that, how could she? She couldn't even begin to sympathize the other woman, she didn't understand what she'd gone though. Or was that empathy? Piper couldn't remember which was which.

She never got the chance to try and figure it out because before she knew it, they were whizzing through the forest again, moving at an insanely high speed. Piper made a mental note to ask about how fast Elle could run sometime. For now, she just held onto Elle while she ran until they reached their destination. Smiling her thanks to the taller woman, Piper walked over to where her bag still sat and picked it up. Rummaging through it, she found everything was still there. Slinging it over her shoulder, she looked over at Elle as she marveled at her speed, a laugh escaping her own mouth. The laugher died down however as she was asked to travel with Elle.

Shifting her bag some, she paused and grimaced slightly at the details of killing and eating, something she didn't really need to hear. Shrugging slightly, Piper smiled gently and nodded. "Alright, I accept. On one condition however, actually make that a few." she said quickly before Elle could interrupt. Holding up a finger she started to rattle off a couple things. "One, you protect me, I protect you. it goes both ways okay? No buts. Two, if you're going into the city, do you know how to act? Based off you licking and poking me, I'm going to guess no so we might have to go over a couple things and make sure you seem normal enough to not draw attention. Or we can just stick to forests or whatever. I'm fine anywhere. Although a bed for a couple days would be nice while I take all this stuff in..." she said, growing progressively weary.

"Oh, and please don't treat me like I'm some totally helpless princess." she added with a slight whine as she scrunched up her face some. "I'm quite capable myself. Maybe not on par with you and your uh...kind, but I can handle myself well enough. Been out alone for about 4 years on my own now. I have my own little tricks to stay alive." she said with a proud little smile. "if I have to, I'll train and get stronger. Anyway to answer your question, yeah, we can stick together."

Elle laughed and poked her in the cheek just from her comment about poking.

"Your fun to poke though. Its cute." She joked. "But fine. I can agree to that. I do think it would be safest to stay in the city for a few days. Stock up on some things before everything goes to shit. If you need to show me some things about humans, that would be amazing." Elle was truly excited about the hole learning how to fit in with humans. She always had to avoid cities because she drew to much attention to herself from her strangeness. She was also happy to be able to help Piper.

"We can find you a place to sleep but we might have to break in. I have....what every you call that paper stuff humans use. Money?" Elle looked confused and wondered if she used the right words. She knew that humans used paper and coins to trade for things they wants. From the few weeks the Elle had been out, she noticed that a lot revolved around this money. She had none on her own and had no clue how to even get any.

"If you head out now, we can make it to the city by sundown. I don't want to be out here any longer. Who knows who else could be lurking in the shadows."

Elle grabbed her stuff and started forward towards the sounds of cars and the city. This would be the first time her eat entering one. It was a smaller city but a city none the less. It was going to be dark by the time they got there, so she didn't worry much about fitting in...just about find a place to sleep.

"So, city girl, where do we go in the city to sleep?"

__

Hours had passed as they traveled and when they finally reached the city, the sun was down and they hadn't come across anyone in the forest. Elle was thankful about not having to fight but she was growing tired from all the things she did today. She had a lot of energy but there was only so much she could do in one day. She turned and looked at Piper and smiled. She wondered if she was even more tired.

"Hey, if you want I can carry you again. I won't run but you won't have to deal with walking?" She poked her in the side and laughed. "What do you say, want a ride?"

Piper scowled and swiped at Elle's hand playfully as her cheek was poked once again, not to bothered really but slightly annoyed. "How is poking me fun?" she muttered in complaint. A smiled crosses her features a moment later though, giving a slightly amused look as Elle agreed to learn how to act a bit more normal. That'd certainly be interesting enough, Piper wasn't sure how much the other woman did and didn't know about human society. Whatever she did seem to know, she appeared to not know exactly when and where to apply it to actual interactions. Her ears burned a faint red at the remembrance of being suddenly kissed, shaking her head wildly to shake the thought. Adjusting her bag, she looked back over at Elle.

Blinking as Elle mentioned moment, Piper was faintly surprised the taller girl even knew what money was. She made a slight face though at Elle's remark about breaking in. Teaching her about human life was going to be quite a trip. Waving her hand dismissively, she shrugged slightly. "Money is not an issue, we are not breaking into anything." she announced firmly as they started walking. She shot a look over at Elle again as she called her a 'city girl', rolling her eyes at that and just kept walking. Pulling her arms close to her body, she tapped the hilt of her sword every now and then, keeping her hands out of sight as she traced the hilt patters. Occasionally she'd tug on her bag, feeling slightly anxious about this all but never once voiced herself.

For hours they walked and for the most part, neither spoke. It was a little weird and slightly uncomfortable for Piper at first but she adjusted after some time. She contently looked around at whatever was around her, which was mainly and basically a bunch of trees and plants...and dirt...and she was getting sick of seeing all this green stuff. Eventually, yawns started to frequently fall from her mouth as they walked and she did her best to stifle them, not wanting to slow anything down just for her sake.

At last, they reached the borderline of the forest and city and never in her life had Piper been so glad to see the bright lights. Blinking, she looked at Elle as she offered to carry her again. Raising an eyebrow, she chuckled lightly and shook her head. "I'll be okay until we find a place. People are still out and about so that might be a littler weird. Don't worry, I think I know of a few places we can go." she said glancing around briefly. Looking at Elle, she studied her appearance for a moment and sighed.

"Okay, first things first. Don't run off and poke people. Hands to yourself okay? No wandering off either. I promise to show you everything like tomorrow. Got that?" she questioned. There was probably more she could and maybe should add but Piper was way to tired to try and remember everything. Yawning openly, she just grabbed Elle's hand and pulled her away from the woods and out into the city lights. Smiling some she glanced over her shoulder, "There's a place a block or two down. We'll be there in no time. We can rest and wash up and whatever while there."

Elle had sometime during their travels, washed off most the blood that had covered her from the fights earlier that days. They had passed by a large creek and Elle used the opportunity to get cleaned up. She never liked before having blood stay on her and she also though it would be a smart idea since they were going into the city. If there was one thing she learned about humans, it was that they didn't like blood. Seeing blood on another freaked them out. It only showed how different humans were to her kind. How everyone was different. They weren't even raised in a slaughter house/ fighting pen.

As Piper dragged her through the city, Elle had to stop herself as they passed by every little thing that amazed her. There were so many interesting things and people. She held onto Pipers hand tightly, as if she were a child with her mother, both excited of the things around her but scared of getting lost and loosing her.

The shops that lit up the streets, were already closing down their store but that things they sale stayed in the windows. Elle wanted to stop once or twice to look into the window and see all of the beautiful things that humans have created. She saw clothes and shoes of different styles. She even saw she's that had spikes on at the end. They look dangerous but most the woman walking around, had those on. Some labels on the tags you could read from he windows would say "heels" or "stilettos.". Elle could only see how difficult it would be to walk in something like that but they also gave the woman who wore them a sense of power and grace. She wondered also what it would be like to fight in those shoes. She bet they women could take them off and beat people with it.

The people in the city were different from each other but all the same in a way. They all looked innocent. Even the people who lurked in the shadows. They had no clue what was going on in the world. It was painful to see that these people very soon would be fighting to survive from her kind. All the people who walked past them and gave Elle weird looks for her odd clothes and shoeless feet, would soon be dead or fighting for there lives. Elle wondered how many would survive. She wondered how many were like Piper, hiding a gift. She couldn't smell any but she could smell Piper. pipers scent traveled in the air as the walked and hit Elle in the face. It made her hungry but she ignored it. "So where are we going? Do you know a place we can..

Elle stopped dead in her tracks, still holding on to Piper but not moving. She sniffed the air and smelled something close by. Not anything dangerous but maybe something deadly to humans.

"I smell fear...and something else." Elle let go of Pipers hand and turned around, heading towards a dark ally way that was covered in shadows. She stopped at the end and looked down into it. With normal eyes, one wouldn't be able to see but she could. In the distance, hiding behind a large trash bin, was a man and woman. The woman was giving off the scent of fear and the man gave off something foul. Elle eyes turned dark and she walked into the ally way, heading straight to the distressed woman and dangerous man.

"What are you doing?" She asked at a safe enough distance. The man turned away from he woman, frightened for a second that he didn't hear Elle coming. After getting a good look at her and realizing that she was too a woman, he smiled and pointed a knife at her. Elle raised an eye brown and in a slip second, her whip was out and around the mans throat. Choking, he dropped his knees and scratched at the white. HIs face slowly starting to turn blue.

"You petty little thing. What give you the right to attack this woman." Elles voice was dark as she looked down at the man. The blood that still flowed through Elles veins, mixed with something dark and secret. Something that Elle didn't know was in her. Something inhuman. The woman sat huddling in a corner, crying in fear of both Elle and form the situation she was just in.

Elle had no idea of the reaction she was getting. She had forgotten how she cared for humans in the brief moment. She didn't even remember Piper was wither or was able to see what was happening. This was something she wouldn't want anyone to see or even do but stills a part of her did it anyway. A lost part sickened by the mans ability to force himself on a harmless woman.

It took a moment or two to register that no one's hand was in her grip anymore. Skidding to a stop, Piper looked around her wildly, wondering where the heck Elle had disappeared to. Turning around, she jogged back a few paces, looking around carefully. As she came across a ark ally, she saw her companion wandering down the ally, stopping in front of a couple hunched figures. Running down, she slowed and stopped several feet behind the other girl, peering around to see a man and a woman. Sighing softly, Piper easily figured out what was going on between the two. Frowning at the man who was a bit occupied with Elle, Piper shifted her gaze over to the woman who was hunched against the wall.

Her gaze snapped back over to Elle and the man as she heard the other woman speak, eyes going wide some as Piper saw her wrapping her whip around his neck. "What? Elle! Don't!" she yelled. Glancing at the woman who was crying, she hesitated for a moment before groaning audibly. Darting forward, she grabbed Elle's shoulder firmly and pulled at it sharply, not sure how Elle would react. "Elle, let go of the man. Now." she commanded slowly. Piper was in no way in favor of the man assaulting the woman but if Elle killed the guy here, there'd be more trouble heading their way. It was bad enough to woman was witnessing all of this. "Just let him go. You can knock him out but do not kill him." she commanded lowly. "It'll attract attention towards us and you're scaring the crying woman over there."

Taking a big leap of trust, Piper let go of Elle's shoulder and moved around her to the crying woman. Crouching down, she placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "Hey...it's okay now. Are you okay? I'm sorry about my uh...friend scaring you. She's not from around here and things are done a bit different from where she's from." Piper spoke, speaking softly and trying to calm the woman down. "Anyway, can you get up? Here, cover yourself with this..." she offered, pulling her cloak off form her shoulders. Thankfully the ally was dim enough the sword hanging from her side was barely noticeable. "Thank you" a soft voice came and Piper just shrugged. "It's no problem really."

Standing up, Piper helped the woman, making sure that she didn't look over where Elle was. Piper was silently praying the other girl hadn't killed the guy and had just let him go. She had no idea how the heck she'd seen them way down here. This ally was dark as hell for one thing. Guiding the woman to the other end, she remained in the shadows. "Take this, I'm sorry I can't offer more and I apologize for rushing off but good luck, stay safe now." she said handing about $150 to the girl. Her eyes widened and she instantly tried to hand the money back, "I can't take this..you've already done so much..." she protested. Piper only smiled. "What's your name?" The girl blinked. "Me? I'm Taylor..." Piper nodded. "Right, so look Taylor. Just take it and don't worry about it. It'll help you get home safe and if needed, it'll cover some hospital fees. If you still don't want to take it then think of it as a bribe to keep you quiet about my odd friend. Report the guy but don't mention us. You can say people came to help but you couldn't see their faces or whatever. Either one." Piper said glancing over her shoulder.

"Good luck Taylor." she said before turning and running back down the ally towards Elle. As she neared her, Piper slowed down, mentally preparing herself for the worst outcome.

Elle almost turned to train the whip on who ever touched her shoulder but when she heard that is was Pipers voice, Elle didn't move. The man in front go her continued to catch at the whip. He even tired to say something but no air came from him. When Piper told her to let the man go, she was confused by this action. The man was attacking his own kind for something sick. She was about to argue with Piper but when she looked over at the women, she decided other wise. What she was doing was just as wrong as what the man was doing. She was harming a life that was not hers to harm or control. This was everything she tried to avoid in her life and this was the reason she left in the first place.

Huffing and flicking her wrist, the whip released the man but he fell unconscious to the ground. He had only passed out from fear and from minor lack of oxygen. While Piper was gone, getting the women out go there, Elle approached the man and crouched down by him. The sickness she could smell from him before was no a scent of fear. Just like the woman. That would be enough. Maybe it scared him enough to the point of never doing this again. She poked him a few times in his back and then noticed something sticking out of his back pocket. Elle reached for it and pulled him out. It was a fold wallet, or at least thats what she thought they were cold. This was were humans held the things like money and plastic cards with money on them. She opened them and found a ton of paper money. There were a bunch of twenties and tens, but there were more ones and fives then anything. Also, mixed in with the batch were cards with different names on them. She assumed that the man didn't have that many names and must have taken these from other he may have attacked. Standing back up, she kept the cash but didn't know what to do with the rest.

When she heard Piper running up to her, she turned to face her. The man looked dead but Elle didn't know if Piper new that.

"I didn't kill him. He only passed out. He will wake soon so I'll leave him there. I'm sorry..." She sounded honestly ashamed and even had to look away to the ground. "I don't know what came over me....they made us do some horrible stuff the smell he was giving off reminded me of it. Especially...what they did with me." Elle said no more and hoped that Elle wouldn't ask what they would make her do. She would tell her soon but at the moment with the man laying there and the scene still fresh in her mind, she didn't want to go into detail. "I can't tell you what just yet but I will soon. They made me be able to do something I am not proud of and I don't want you to think badly of me. So please don't be angry...Im sorry." She looked up at Piper to see what she would say and to see if she was angry or not.

As she approached where she'd left Elle and the man, she raised an eyebrow slightly as she noticed the man clearly not conscious. Before she could ask, Elle quickly told her he was alive and she nodded slightly, hiding a faint smile, glad the other woman had listened to her. She smiled softly and stopped in from of Elle, blinking as she noticed her holding the mans wallet. She laughed for a moment as she saw Elle had already taken all the money out of the guys wallet, looking a bit lost on what to do with the rest of the thing. Reaching out, she gently pried the item from her hands and looked through it briefly. Finding nothing of importance other then the multiple identities, she just tossed the wallet back on top of the man.

Looking over as Elle spoke, she slid her hands into her pockets, nodding slightly and offering a slight shrug. She had no idea what Elle had been though and just form the pits and pieces she got from her, it didn't sound nice at all. The idea of someone mistreating her in the same way the man was mistreating the woman or just in general, it pissed Piper off to no end. A soft clicking noise passed through her teeth as she made a quiet sound of annoyance. Humans could be such horrible creatures sometimes.

Letting out a sigh as Elle went on, clearly sorry for her actions, Piper relaxed some. Reaching up, she patted Elle on her head lightly before moving past her some. "Don't worry about it. I'm proud you listened and didn't kill him. The cops will come get him soon so we should get going. I won't pry in your past life, that's for you to tell when you want to." she said looking back at her. "Also, I'd stick that money in your pockets and out of sight. We're almost to a hotel. Pretty sure you'll like it there." Piper said with a chuckle.

Taking the lead, Piper lead them down about a block and a half before entering some big, pretty fancy place. Turning to Elle again, she held up a hand. "Alright, don't say or do anything. Two people who look like they crawled out from the gutters is bad. Make it worse, we have weapons so we don't need even more reasons for them to end up watching us 24/7." she instructed lowly.

Making sure, Elle got that, she turned and walked to the front desk. "Room for 2." she said. The young man behind the desk raised an eyebrow, looking at the two for a long moment before nodding and tapping at his computer. "Alright, we have a suite available on the 9th floor. There are also regular rooms if you'd prefer that." he said looking at Piper. The blue eyed girl paused, and weighed her options. Regular rooms were nice and it wasn't like they' be here for to long but Piper felt like spoiling Elle a bit. Frowning faintly, she knew she'd have to exploit her 'power' a bit. "Suite. Under St. Clair. Charge it to Evan. Also, pull this much from our family account...also, I'll tip you this much if you don't ask questions
and tell Evan I was here. If he asks, just say it was some imposter look alike." she said writing a few numbers down on a scrap of paper.

Showing the guy the paper, it only took .2 seconds for him to start scrambling around, getting what she wanted. 5 minutes later, Piper was picking up a room key and a large envelope stuffed full while the young man looked like he'd burst out of happiness "Good to business with you Josh." Piper said reading the guys name tag for the first time. ""Of course Ma'am, here's your room key. Enjoy your stay and my lips and sealed." he said. Piper just nodded and turned to Elle, almost forgetting she was there. Giving a chipper smile she motioned for the taller one to follow her. "Questions later, follow for now." she said leading her to an elevator.

When Piper patted Elle's head, Elle felt a small ping of happiness. She was glad she did the right thing and she was even happier that Piper was not mad at her. For a moment, it looked like she was but she seemed to be ok after Elle explained herself.

When they arrived at the large building, Elle did what she was told and watched Piper talk to the human behind the desk. She really wanted to scoot closer, look around and get a good look at all who was in the building. Her excitement but also nervousness was starting to rise as Piper talked to the clerk. She was really scared that the humans would turn on them and kick them out. Elle was not the cleanest looking, being splattered with dried blood on her clothes and hair, having bare feet, and have dirt here and there. She had been out in those woods for a long time and it clearly showed. She didn't care that people may be nervous around her but she did care about Piper getting the shit end of the stick because of her. So to make things easier, she stood there and looked around at her surroundings.

As everything seemed to be finished smoothly, Elle followed close behind her friend and went a door that opened to the box. Elle tried her best to remember certain terms that were part of human culture but she believed that this was an elevator. She had no clue what it did but she heard of them before when she was contained. She knew that the people who controlled the place she was locked up used the Elevators to get to the lower levels that all her kind were stuff in. She could see the doors open and the men enter into a metal box. The doors would close and they would be gone. She wondered where they went in that metal box. Would this one be the same?

The doors opened and dings and Elle followed Piper inside. Her nerves were on edge as she realized that they were stepping into a box that had only one way out. When the doors clothes, she had a fight of panic and kept herself from trying to reopen the doors. There was no one but Piper and Elle in the box and Piper seemed to be fine being inside of this.

"What the hell is this? Why are we in a box?" When the elevator started to move, she Elle grabbed onto the railings and pressed her back onto the wall. "What the hell? It moves? Where is it moving to?" She wasn't really asking questions to Piper but she was asking more of the sake of talking out loud and rationalizing. The think moved up and down, which could make them go from floor to floor. Suddenly the nervousness was gone and Elle couldn't help but look at the buttons and reach for them. She picked each one and got excited as each one lit up.

"Why do they light up? What are they doing?" She could barely contain her excitement. She turned to Piper and smiled, not realizing that she had selected every floor.

Entering the elevator, Piper hit the 9th floor button, glancing over at Elle to see her all tensed up. She was clearly trying not to freak out and seeing, that, Piper felt a bit bad, making a mental note to ask about it later and suggest just taking the stairs. It'd be a pain, but she didn't want her friend to freak out and something bad happen. A frown etched deeper as the elevator started moving and Elle started vocalizing her thoughts. Staying quiet, Piper just observed carefully, making a couple mental notes for future references although all that flew out the window as she suddenly got excited.

Now confused, Piper made a face and watched as Elle suddenly starting hitting all the floor buttons and groaned softly. She hadn't seen that one coming at all, she should've at this point. Forcing a half smile that was slightly strained but at the same time a bit amused, Piper pointed to the numbers. "Each number represents a floor right? So if you hit one, it lights up and that means it'll take you up to that floor. That being said....you just selected every single floor so this trip to our room might take a bit longer since the elevator thinks you want to get off at each floor, which we don't." Piper explained patiently, gesturing a bit here and there. The door opened to the third floor and seeing no was trying to get on, Piper hit the door close button.

"This one that I just hit, it makes the door close faster so we can get going faster. This one does the opposite, it holds the door open so lots of people can get on or off. Never hit this one unless we get stuck, it'll call the fire department. Don't hit this one either cause it leads toe the parking garage where people park their cars and since we don't have one, there's no need to go down there." Piper went on, pointing to all the different buttons.

By the time they made it to the 9th floor, it was nearly 10 minutes later since they first got on. Or something like that. Pulling the room key out, Piper got off, making sure Elle was following. "Also, never talk or be to loud in the halls especially at night since other people are sleeping here too and we don't want to wake them. Now, this is our room...it's bigger then most, costs more too of course but I figured since you've never seen all this stuff before, might as well spoil you a bit. So..here we go, take a look inside. Don't press any buttons without asking first though okay?" Piper said opening the door.

Stepping aside, Piper let Elle enter first, a small smile lighting her face as she watched the other woman curiously. Entering after Elle, Piper shut the door quietly behind them and walked into the living room area. It was pretty much like an apartment. There was a front room, a couple bedrooms, bathrooms, huge TV, kitchen, balcony, closets, fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, couches, chairs, and so on. Everything was carpeted and there were lamps all over the place in addition to the regular over head lights. Letting out a low whistle, Piper had to admire the place herself.

"So, what do you think?"

Elle did her best to keep her curiosity down and follow everything that Piper said. Everything was such on a large scale that Elle really didn't know what to look at. When they entered the suite, she was stunned to silence. There was so much room for only two people. it was overwhelming. Slowly Elle walked through the hole thing and looked over everything carefully. She made sure not to touch anything like a button or switch but she did run her fingers over all the fabrics and surfaces. Everything was soft to the touch and Elle couldn't help but start to smile more and more.

When she entered into one of the bedrooms, her smile disappeared. Sitting in the middle of the room was a large bed that was covered in beautiful blankets. Everything matched the the pillows took of more of the bed then anything. She didn't smiled because she didn't like it, she didn't smile because she couldn't understand.

"When I....We had these rooms. Sometimes they had several stuffed into one. If you did the things they asked, you would get better stuff and maybe a separate room. I was one of those people. The room was nothing compared to this. We had a small cot with a pillow and blanket. Most of the ones trapped didn't even get that. I was lucky for some time." She turned to Piper. "Is this how you lived?" She turned away and placed her hands on the bed. It was soft and a bit warm under her touch. After a few seconds, her smile came back and she leaned down to press her head against the bed. She didn't want to make Piper sad or feel bad for her so she turned back around and jumped over to Piper, picked her up bridal style and tossed her onto the bed laughing. She could jump on it herself but she was super scared of getting it dirty. She smiled at Piper and winked. She had no idea how to thank Piper for this once in a life time gift but she would enjoy it while she could. It wouldn't last forever sadly.

"This is all pretty amazing. I couldn't even imagine all of this stuff existing." As she talked, she walked to one of the rooms that was connected to that bed room and saw that it had a large tub and even a separate large shower. Everything was in marble and was bright when she turned on the lights. Out of everything she shower and tub excited her the most. That meant she could get clean and feel better. Get the blood off of her! Running into the room, she grabbed Piper off the bed and lead her into the bathroom.

"Look at it! This is amazing! Look at the size of the tub!" She went over to the faucet and turned on both the hot and cold on full blast. She plugged of the tub with the stopper and starting looking at the different soaps around the bathroom. She found the one she needed to make a bubble bath and poured it in as the tub filled. She the watched for a second and then smiled at Piper. "Thank you for this..."

Without caring that Piper was in the room, Elle started to strip down. Her body was scared with scars from both weapons, teeth bites and claws. Most were heeled up and part of her body but there were a few pink scars that showed her recent battle out of the place they held her. There were some bruises but most had cleared up thanks to Pipers blood. Next she let down her hair. Originally it was pulled in a pony tail with the sides braided and pulled back into it. She let everything down and let her blonde hair cascade down her back like a waterfall. The tips were stained with blood and it was a little wild but it shown like gold. She stepped into the water and sat into it. After turning the water off, Elle let the heat enveloped her and dunk underneath the water. There she stayed for a few minutes, not ever telling Piper that she could hold her breath for a very long time. For a few minutes, Elle did not rise from under the water and bubbles.

Sliding her hands into her pockets some, Piper watched with a smile as Elle walked around, looking at everything, listening to her briefly mention her old life. It made Piper wonder often what it was like and what went through the other woman's head sometimes but she never pried. Her question caught Piper off guard slightly, her mouth opening and closing for a moment making her look rather dumb. Thankfully, Elle was already onto the next thing and Piper soon found herself being tossed onto the bed. Laughing, she lay on her back, grinning over at Elle, happy that she liked the room.

Hopping off the bed as Elle started to wander else where, she smiled again in amusement at her excitement over the bathtub. "Hey, it's no problem really. I'm glad you like it..." she answered before turning bright red. "H-hey. Wh-what're you doing?" she stuttered, whirling around as Elle started to strip. She stood stock still as she waited for the taller one to get into the tub and once she did, Piper turned half way around, looking everywhere but Elle. "I'm going to find some extra clothes while you wash. And food. Will you be okay for a few minutes?" she asked. Only silence greeted her.

Frowning, Piper turned her gaze over to the tub to find Elle completely underwater and for several long minutes, she didn't move. Nearly on the verge of completely freaking out, Elle resurfaced. Exploding as soon as the mostly white hair girl ears came above water, Piper went off on a short rant. "What the heck!? Are you okay? What were you doing under there? Can you breathe under water? Warn me next time. Don't scare me like that! Normal humans can't do that you know. Jeez, I was ready to yank you out form under there....oy anyway..." A long sigh fell from Piper's mouth.

"Don't worry, I'm not mad. Just worried, I didn't know what to think really. Anyhow...um...I'm gonna go call for room service while you finish bathing..." After calming down, Piper quickly reassured Elle she wasn't mad or anything, just worried. And now that, that was passing, Piper was starting to feel very awkward again and was inching her way towards the door again. "i hope anything will do. Oh, and I'll get spare clothes...and wash these...or toss them if they aren't fit and stuff...and yeah, okay, I'll see you in a few. Call me if you need something." she said quickly.

Darting out and closing the door behind her, she let out a long breath, shaking her head in mild amusement. Walking over to the phone, she picked it up and ordered some dinner for the two of them. She wasn't totally sure what to do about clothes at the moment. She had a few spare clothing items in her bag that had been cleaned not long ago but Elle was taller then Piper so they probably wouldn't fit.

Frowning, she picked the phone up and called to ask where she could get ahold of clothes. Interestingly, she could just order stuff like the food so she got a few things, mainly plain things for the time being. Actually shopping could be done tomorrow but Piper just wanted to shower and then sleep for the day. Unhooking her sword, she hung that in the closet. Stretching, she stood there in the middle of the place waiting for the things to arrive.

As Elle popped her head out of the water, she smiled as she saw Piper freak out. She felt bad for scaring her but her reaction was funny.

"Of course I can't breath under water. Im a snake not a fish. I can hold my breath but that is what I was trained to do." She leaned back into the tub and filled her hands with bubbled and blew them into the air. The last and only time she had ever been able to take a bubble bath was in the bathroom that most of them shared. They found some soap and got creative, making bubbles in the water. It was never as many as this and as hot as this but it was still nice.

She watch from the bubbles as Piper got embarrassed and didn't know what to do with herself. Why was she embarrassed. It took a moment but Elle finally realized that maybe human raised people were not use to others body. It was never something that bothered her at the holding place, or anyone there at the matter. It only bothered them when the guards would get weird with them. Lucky for them, the guards learned quickly not to touch those with claw and fangs. They were punished of course but it was worth it when the guards left them alone.

Lowering herself into the water again once Piper left the room, she let the water warm her body. She felt so different then before. Earlier that day she was making bets with herself on how long she would last. When she met with the two, she knew she would have to take a beating before being able to fight back. She had used up most of her energy prior and she didn't want to find someone to take energy from. She really didn't know much about it and was scared. Even when she drank from Piper, she was scared she would turn into something bad and kill Piper. Piper saved her life though.

Rising up and laying sitting back, the hot water all the way to her chin, Elle thought about what was soon to happen. Why didn't anyone see it coming? There was no way to warn people but she hated having the knowledge that a war was about to begin and the humans would be caught in the middle. They would be casualties that no one could care about. Of course the human armies would get involved and that would make it a war between three species and not two. Who would survive? Her kind had the strength to take out thousand, but they had limited energy and would soon waste away. Pipers kind had power but they didn't have any strength or skill to fight back with. From what Elle had learned, most didn't even know they had something and they hide it in fear. The humans had there weapons of war but they would just end up getting themselves killed by themselves. This was was going to end badly with no real winner.

Curling her legs up to her body, Elle rested her head on her knees and closed her eyes. She didn't want to think about what was going to happen but her insides turned with fear. How long would she survive? Her life was pointless. How long would Piper survive against these people who are crazed with blood and skilled in fighting and killing. She could tell the Piper was strong and skilled but would she make it. Elle would do everything in her power to keep her safe but Elle only had so long to live. There bodies were made to live forever but only by the blood the Piper carries in her veins. She could never live like that.

Trying to clear her mind of the fear she felt, she grabbed a scrub brush and cleaned every inch of her body. When it was time for her hair, she decided to drain the water and use the shower. She shampooed her hair till it felt like silk in her hands. It had been such a long time since she had felt it like that. Once out of the shower, she dried herself off and wrapped a towel around herself. Her hair shinned and her skin glowed for once instead of the dirt that covered it before. There was no more blood and it even felt like it was never there before.

"Hey, you still here?" Elle popped her head out of the bathroom and walked into the room Piper was in. "That bath was amazing. It really helped my skin." She went and sat down on the couch and looked around. "So, you have a right to know about me. What do you want to know? I'll tell you anything."

It didn't take long for the items she'd requested to arrive. Setting the food on the table in the kitchen, she glanced over the clothes briefly and nodded slightly to herself before laying them out on top of the couch in a neat pile. Pattering back to the kitchen, she washed her hands quickly and started to unpack the food, spreading them out around the table somewhat nicely. Grabbing utensils, she set those down on the table as well. Once that was done, Piper wasn't really sure what to do next. It wasn't like she could do to much until Elle was done with the bathroom. Running a hand through her hair, she thought for a moment before walking over and picking her bag up.

Moving to another table, she dumped the things out, swiftly pulling the curtains closed in the process. Sifting through the items, she started organizing them neatly, placing a few back in her bag that she didn't want lying around out in the open. Busying herself with cleaning things in her bag or throwing out trash and what not, her mind started to wander a bit. She wondered about this whole war situation and how things would turn out in the end. It'd been peaceful for so long, were people even remotely prepared for anything warlike? Clearly the main government was out of the question if they were the ones letting loose these Feikn's. Clearly the Eilif would have to defend themselves from being hunted. In no time things had turned into a hunt or be hunted, fight or be killed. And where did that leave the humans? They'd either fight back or run or something. Piper didn't know, she wasn't really concerned about it if she was honest.

Sighing, she stopped moving things around to nowhere and pulled the curtains back a little to look out over the city. Bright lights, the low rumble of cars, random people still out and about. This was what she'd grown up with and now it felt for strange. Piper recalled Elle making a couple remarks about where she'd come from and was used to and she wasn't wrong, but it bothered Piper. She hated this world, much preferring the one where she could do what she wanted and go wherever she wanted. Except, now that world was coming to an end with all this stupid stuff.

Grumbling, she yanked the curtains shut with a huff and turned around. Crossing her arms, she looked around the place for a long moment, trying to think of anything else that needed to be don.e Thinking of nothing, she just stood there waiting for Elle to finish up. Piper was ready to shower, get all the dirt and grim off of her and just relax a bit before heading out once again.

Luckily, it wasn't much longer before the other woman made her reappearance. Turning around cautiously, Piper smiled to see a clean Elle standing there wrapped in a towel. "I'm here and I bet, they're quite helpful." she remarked walking over to where she sat. Tilting her head as Elle told her to ask anything, Piper only shrugged. "I don't have much to ask at the moment. I'm to tired to think of anything really. Here, change into these and go ahead and start eating if you want." Piper said handing her a couple sets of clothes. Picking up another, Piper made her way towards the bathroom.

"We can chat after I shower if you still want. For now, just relax some." she said looking over her shoulder with a small tired smile. Disappearing into the bathroom, she stripped down swiftly and hopped into the shower right away. A soft sigh left her mouth as she closed her eyes, just standing there for a moment and letting the hot water hit her body. Once she was done relaxing for a couple minutes, she grabbed soap and shampoo and started to clean herself up quickly. Piper wasn't a huge fan of being in water, probably had to do with her being a fire user, but either way, she made sure never to be in it for to long.

Her shower only lasted about 10 minutes, maybe 15 at most but when she walked out of the bathroom, she was clean as could be. Piper's long black hair fell down her back, dripping wet and sending water droplets flying as she walked. "Well that was nice, have you eaten yet? Do the clothes fit?"

Elle nodded but said nothing as she watched Piper disappear to get cleaned up. She was a little anxious being in such a large room as such alone and really didn't know what to do with herself. It was like she was to out in the open even though she was inside. After some time, Elle had learned that being in a small place is safer to hid in.

Before dressing, Elle made sure to lock all the locks on the door and even stared out the peep hole to look into the hallway. She didn't know how safe this hotel was or how safe the city was. The others like her could make there way into the city at any minute. The one thing that made Elle really nervous was that she didn't know how they were going to do it. She knew there was a class system of her kind and the stronger were always the leader. Jess and Elle always made sure that people knew they were stronger so there wasn't any chance of being killed or controlled. But once they were out in the open, she didn't know if that class system would stay true or everything would turn to chaos. One way they could do it was just coming out of the forest randomly and killing everyone they see. Another way, if the class system was still in place, the leaders would send out people to certain sections and kill off people silently in order to keep themselves hidden longer. She didn't know how they would plan it out. The leader could also do both. The leaders could send people out to slaughter while they stayed in the shadows, in case of danger. All the weak ones would be killed off or blamed while they controlled things like the government did.

One of the things she didn't understand was why the government was doing this to begin with. Elle clearly understood that they hated the natural book people with powers, so they created us to kill them but why would they send her kind knowing they would kill humans too? Was it some sort of game. Maybe they wanted the war to happen and then they come in and save everyone, giving status and love back to the government. Elle had no clue but what ever the reason, it was not good.

Stepping away from he door, Elle turned and went through the clothes. She found bra, underwear, a simple red tank top and a pair of black knee length work out tights. Elle smiled when she put it on since she felt so much cleaner in them and also smoother in her motions. She also found a pair of elite running shoes and socks. She didn't bother to put those on just yet for two reasons. One, she wasn't use to wearing shoes and two, she didn't want to bother putting them on before she went to sleep.

After dressing, she sat down and started to eat. She didn't really need to each to much. Her body worked different when it come to metabolizing food. She would only really need to eat a large meal a few times a week and then snake the rest for more energy. Her body worked better this way though she did know that within a day or two, she would need to get her hands on some red meat. Not raw but she needed meat during her large meals. She picked an apple and also a couple of small things and started to snack on them

Before she could even get midway through her tiny meal, she looked up at Piper and smiled. She held up her apple as and answer to the eating question. She had food in her mouth and swallowed before she could answer the next.

"Everything fits fine. You have a good eye for measurements." She took another bite of apple and got up from her spot. "And sorry about not eating much. I ate two days ago and my body only requires a few very large meals a week to function. So, the rest of the food is yours." She sat down on the window seal, her back leaning against the glass.

"I want to apologize for earlier with the human. I would like to explain some stuff to you and also ask some questions regarding you and your ability. If we are going to survive together and trust each other, we need to be completely open about everything. Agreed?"

Walking over to the table, Piper picked up some food and stuffed it into her mouth, nodding slightly as the other girl spoke. Picking up the extra plate, she filled it up with a bit of everything, quite hungry. Sitting down across from Elle, she stuffed her face while she spoke, nodding a bit here and there. "Glad everything fits." she replied as she jumped up to get something to drink. Pouring herself some milk, she drained a glass before refilling it and sitting down once again. Once settled, Piper continued to eat briskly, leaving nothing left behind. When she finished practically inhaling the food, she looked over at the white haired girl with a neutral expression, saying nothing for a moment or two.

While Elle got up and moved to the window sill, Piper sat where she was watching Elle move around. "Makes sense I guess. Explain what you want, I won't ask for anymore then you want to tell." Piper replied finally, helping herself to another plate. The first had only taken like 5 minutes to completely clean off, maybe even less. "And well, lucky you. I'm starving. Unlike you, I need to eat pretty often but at the same time I know when not to be a pig and ration food." she went of in between bites of food. "As for questions about me, I'll answer but I do have a limit. I will answer to the best of my capability and comfortability. If I refuse to answer something, accept it and move on. Do you
agree?" Piper stopped moving all together as she looked over at Elle with a hard expression. It wasn't one of a challenge or defiance, simply one that was stating rules and ones that couldn't bargained with or changed.

Piper stared for a good 15 seconds, holding the same expression and not blinking once before turning back to her food. Wolfing down the second plate a bit slower, she finished quickly before sticking the dishes in the sink. Walking over to the living room type area, she flopped down on the couch. "Alrighty. Let's start. Well, you start since I don't really have anything in mind about this. Honestly. I'm just tired so can we make this quick? We can finish tomorrow morning if needed." Part of Piper's "rich girl" side was starting to peak through a bit but it wasn't intolerable, just a little annoying. She hated acting that way but old habits die hard. Abusing certain "powers" didn't please her either but it had to be done sometimes. Anything and everything went regarding survival. Well, she did have some morals but they didn't really come into play seeing they never had too.

Stretching out, Piper ran a hand through her hair and sighed softly. Her blue eyes gazed around for a few moments before turning back to Elle questionably.

Elle nodded and followed Piper over to the couch. She looked at it awkwardly, knowing what to do but no really wanting to sit on it. Instead she decided to sit on the arm of it and bring her legs up to sit indian style. She balanced there natural and continued to eat slowly.

"When I was walking with you through the city, I could smell the mans pheromones. Everyone gives them off. Humans have very weak ones sadly. I could also smell her fear. I knew something was up but I should of told you first before wondering off." She bowed her head to Piper and then continued. "The reason I got so upset was because he...." She stopped and looked down at her apple in her hands. It was mostly gone, almost to the core. "Very few of us were given a certain ability. There is one I am not very proud of and I don't plan on using it unless I really need to. Because not only does it effect the person I am directing it to but those around me." She wanted to say more but she didn't want to scare off Piper. She could emit pheromones that could attracts others and control them to a certain extent. The last person who she told about this, claimed she used it when she didn't. She also didn't want to reveal what she was in that place before they used her as a war dog in a way. What she was before she met Jess and followed her in her rebellion.

"We are going to be in some serious shit. So all I want to know is how long you have been using your power, how much control do you have and can you fight without your sword? I would ask you about why you have so much human paper money but I have a feeling that might not be something you want to share. Also....your really proud for being such a...little thing. Its amusing." Elle smirked at her.

Scowling at the other woman, Piper moved her legs away so give Elle some more room to sit, sitting up slowly herself as she ran a hand through her hair some. "First off, I am not little." she huffed in slight annoyance, crossing her arms and scowling at the woman in front of her. "Second...pheromones? Interesting...well, I won't ask why but I guess I can say good job for noticing it. Can't say your methods of dealing with it was great, no worries though, we already talked about that." she remarked, thinking out loud some as she gazed thoughtfully at her companion.

"As for my powers, I have no idea really. For some time I guess...I can't remember. I wouldn't say I've completely mastered it but I know how to use it and manipulate it beyond it's basics. I also still don't know everything about it...like why the heck is it blue?" Piper replied. Lifting her hand, she allowed a small flame to burst to life in there palm as she squinted at it, a faint frown crossing her features for a moment or two as she watched the flames dance. Waving her hand, the fire dispersed and Piper looked back over at Elle. Getting up, she walked over to where her sword leaned against the wall and picked it up, walking back over to the couch and sitting down.

"I also wouldn't say I'm a master swordsman but my skills aren't something to laugh at. Clearly my skills aren't on par with you overall but to an average human they're pretty good. I've been traveling around, learning and training all these skills." Unsheathing her sword some, she glanced at the blade, just checking to see it's condition. It shone brightly in the lamp light, gleaming dangerously. Smiling to herself, Piper sheathed it and looked just past Ella, her gaze sliding to the closed curtains.

"As for the 'human paper money', which is just called money for the record, I have access to lots of it. However that could be cut off at any moment and I dislike exploiting that particular....part of me." she said slowly, her voice even as she kept her gaze away from the white haired woman. It wasn't like Piper was ashamed or anything, perhaps she was in a sense, but in general she didn't like touching on things having to do with her family. She despised her Father and wanted nothing to do with him. Sadly, things don't always work out like that.

"We will need to get you up to par with fighting and using your power. I can show you come but noting that we are two different species entirely, I don't know how much I can show you. They might have made me in the likeness of your kind but unlike you, I have limited energy. Sooner or later I will run out and it will be the end of me. You on the other hand have an unlimited supply that you can use for anything. So I can show you how to use it but that maybe be all." Elle could feel that she didn't not have great control of her energy but Elle didn't even know if Piper's kind could control their own energy. Regardless, she would try her best to help her learn to use it before her time was up.

Watching Piper move to her sword, she smiled at the thing. It was a beautiful weapon and she could tell it was kept nicely. She believe in the fact that when you picked a weapon, it became part of you. You wouldn't be the same with anything else. Elle didn't know what she would do with out her whip. It was her other part that helped her survive. "I can't do much to help with sword because I have never used one and fighting is something i would like to avoid at all costs. I think our best bet is to get as far from the fighting zones as possible and wait for everyone to finish killing each other. I can show you some fighting things while we do, in case you need to protect yourself."

Getting off the arm of the couch, she raised her hands into the air and stretched them up. She felt stiff and slow because the air in the room was cold to her. It was making her body slow down which she didn't want.

"We should get some rest while we can. You can have the bed. I'll stay up for a bit and sleep out here."

Elle went back over to the window and opened the curtains, letting in some of the city lights. Down below, the streets were mostly empty now. People were settling in finally. It looked calm but it didn't sound calm. She could still hear the night hustle of cars, sirens and an occasional yelling of a person to another. This seemed to be a nicer part of the city so things we calm.

Elle's plan was to stay up and look for a way to make a nest. She thought about the bathroom tub and filling it with covers and pillows but she would be less aware in there. She wouldn't take the bed because that for Piper.

She turned and faced Piper, her back resting against the cold glass. "Get some rest and don't worry, I won't bite you in your sleep." Elle joked.

Piper raised an eyebrow slightly as she was told that she'd have to start training or whatever again. The idea didn't totally appease to her but it faintly caught her interest. Her mind flashed back to 2 years ago, a kind young couple popping up into her minds eye. Shutting that memory down quickly, Piper refocused on the woman in front of her, listening to her talk. "I wouldn't say my power is unlimited. It's all based on how much energy I have. It's like running, the more stamina I have, the longer I can keep going. If I have little to none, I can't last long. I don't know where I lay on that scale, I'd assume somewhere in the middle but I dunno." Piper responded with a shrug. She just flashed a grin and chuckled, "Guess we'll be finding out more things. I can't wait."

Yawning, the dark haired girl stretched for a long moment, her eyes squeezing shut as if trying to get rid of the exhaustion slowly overcoming her body. "As for my sword, I can handle it just fine. If I have to, I can return to my Masters." she said lowly, her mind flashing back to the young couple, a few other people slipping into the picture before it vanished. Rubbing her eyes, Piper just sat there tiredly, not really interested in moving just yet.

For a few moments, she just looked blankly over at Elle as she looked out the window, a lopsided smile crossing her face as she mused to herself. She wondered how much Elle knew about the "normal" world. A low chuckle sounded as Elle joked about biting her. "Is it bad I'm more concerned about you licking me again?" she teased back slightly as she stood up. Stretching again, she plodded down the short hall towards the room. "Feel free to join me. There's another bedroom I think...if not just come into mine. Bed's big enough for two. I don't mind sharing." she said over her shoulder before disappearing.

Entering the bedroom, she set her sword down next to the bed as she sat down. Reaching over, she turned the lights off and lay down, pulling the covers over her shoulders as her blue eyes pierced the darkness of the room. Silence fell over everything and Piper lay there wide awake. Lying there, she just started up at the dark celling, occasionally glancing around and looking at the blinking lights from the electronics in the room. Rolling onto her side, she shut her eyes tight and hoped sleep would overtake her already. When it did, she welcomed it peacefully, ready to sleep again. Being in a bed this luxurious again was a little weird to her but comforting at the same time.

It wasn't before long that nightmares started to plague Piper's sleep. Her body twitched, low noises of fear or anger escaping her lips as she battled whatever it was in her sleep. A thin sheen of sweat could be seen on her forehead as she slept fitfully, her fists clenching and unclenching tightly.

Piper smiled once more as she watched Piper disappear into the bedroom. She was a bit confused on to why the girl offered to share her bed with her, didn't that mean something these sin human culture. She was also confused by the fact that Piper trusted her enough to do that. Did she not fear Elle or worry about her a little. If Elle wanted to, the moment she fell asleep...she could kill her. Be like the rest of the hungry ones out there and just slaughter her. A chill ran through Elle's back as she recalled how Jess and the other were after having to much of the blood and energy. It made them crazy. Elle didn't want to be like that.

Sitting down at the table and taking out her whip and a small bottle, she started to oil her whip. It was important to do this so the whip kept flexibility and keep from cracking. She did this ever few nights when she had the resting opportunity. Usually she did it quickly, just in case of an attack or she needed to move again but tonight should could safely take her time and care for her whip.

As Elle oiled it, she thought about her day and honestly the month. She has been out for that long and she was surprised that there had been less killings. She assumed that all the places were going to open and release the monsters created on the same day but their rebellion allowed them to be released ahead of time maybe. So it was only a matter of time before the world flooded with fighting. She wondered Pipers kind knew about what was going to happen? Were they ready? Elle just assumed that they were living day to day with no knowledge of what was going on. Maybe they thought they were the only ones. Elle sighed and stopped.

Standing and stretching, Elle was about to pack her things back up so she could be ready the moment they needed to leave but she was stopped by the sound of Piper whimpering. Thinking that something was wrong, Elle rushed into the room and looked around for what ever was scaring her. When she noticed that it was nothing and that Piper was sleeping, Elle went over to her bed side and looked down at her in the dark. She was sweating and whimpering in her sleep.

"What are you dreaming about little human..." Her voice was soft and a whisper. She had seen the girl be strong and stubborn all day. Acting powerful and like she wasn't influenced by anything but here Elle saw that she was like every one else, she was like her.

Elle was going to walk away back into the front area but Piper started to move around and that made her stop. What was she dreaming about that caused her this nightmare. She couldn't just leave her like this but she didn't want to wake her as well. She looked like she really needed it but Elle knew all to well that having nightmares did not help with sleep. She needed to wake her.

Climbing into the bed, Elle sat next to her and grab her hand. She knew Piper would be mad about this but Elle wanted to wake her....and taste her one more time.

Bringing her hand to her lip, Elle withdrew all the poison in her fangs, so that they were normal, and pressed the tip of Pipers finger to the tip of her fang. She bite down lightly. Blood was immediately drawn and the taste sent a weird feeling washing over Elles body. She wanted to suck and draw more blood out but she stuck to the task of biting her till she woke up.

Everything was burning, flames leaping high into the sky. "Show me where the vault is and maybe she'll come back." a youngish man with a scarred face said in an attempted soothing tone. In front of him stood a small girl, no older then 7, looking up at him with weary expression, fear showing her eyes. "What's a vault?" she asked in return. "The treasure chest, the one with all the money and prizes. Surely your parents have shown you where it is?" he said, changing the words. The little girl just shrugged slightly, "No, Mom and Dad never showed me...but maybe it's in Dad's work room? He says everything important is in there." The young man raised an eyebrow slightly. "Mom and Dad? I'm surprised, most kids would say 'Mommy' and Daddy'. Where's the room kid?" he asked, a ghost smile touching his lips. The small girl smiled proudly, forgetting to be scared for a moment. "I know, that's cause I'm a big girl and they're still little." she boasts while leading the way down the hall.

Entering a huge work office, flames ate away at one side of the room, slowly making their way across. Instantly, the man and 2 others who'd appeared started throwing things around, looking for the vault. The little girl only watched, confused on why the men were throwing her Dad's things around. "Why are you looking for Dad's things?" she asked, not moving from where she stood. "Shut up." one of the men growls. The door flew open a moment later and the little's girls Mom entered. Identical blue eyes found the younger girl and relief washed through them. "Mom! Why are you bleeding? Did you get a cut?" the small girls asks running over. The woman smiles, a strained one that the girl doesn't catch. "Don't worry sweetie. Go run and find Daddy now. Let me help these men." she says, shooting a hard glare over the girls head as she hugged her daughter. The girl frowned slightly "But isn't Dad at work across the ocean?" she asked confused. "Just go Pip."

"Where is it dammit! Ping, Shin, just grab what you can and go! I'll see what the wife knows." the scarred man barked. The other two nodded and ran out, dodging parts of the house that was crumbling down around them. Walking over to the Mother and Daughter, he pulled out a gun and glared down at the two. "Tell me where those papers are." he demanded. The Mother just sat there calmly, holding her daughter tight against her. "Paper? I thought you wanted the money and prizes?" Piper asked wriggling out of her Mothers grasp. The man growled and roughly yanked the blue eyed girl away from her Mother. "Shut it kid. Hurry up and tell me where it all is or I shoot the girl."

Suddenly Piper felt scared. Struggling against the strange and now scary man, Piper wailed. "Let her go! Please! I don't know where he put them!" the woman cried, jumping to her feet and making a small movement towards the two. Stepping back, the man smiled cruelly. "Nah uh," he taunted. "call him up then, The phone is right there. Better be quick." There's a pause before the woman is running over to the phone. Picking it up, she dials a number with shaky hands. "Hello? Yes...yes...St. Clair mansion-" Piper is let go as the man lunges for the woman, figuring out who'd she called instead. "Hey! Drop the phone!" he roars raising his arm. The Mother whips around, fright clear as day in her crystal blue eyes. They search frantically to find her daughter, snd s they found the young girl, they softened slightly. "I love you Piper." she calls softly.

BANG!

All is silent except the crackling of the fire burning the house down. "Stupid worthless woman!" the man with the scarred face cursed. All Piper can do is stand there, frozen in shock as she watches her Mother fall to the ground.

"Quan! We found it! It was in one of the other rooms!" someone shouted. A man from earlier showed up waving some papers around. Quan grins, "Good! Now lets go! Stupid bitch phoned the police, definitely gonna be a crap ton of blue shirts around now." he said moving quickly. "Wait, what about the kid?" the third man asked. The three look back to where Piper was, having over the still body of the older woman, tears streaming down her face. "Leave her. She won't do anything." Quan decided with a scoff. Not another word was said as the man with the scarred face turned and walked swiftly down the hall, leaving the girl alone.

The scene changes. A girl. 13 years old. And she's racing down the streets. Deep rooted anger flow through her veins as she cashes down two men. Catching up, she jumps and dives at one of them. Using the moves she'd learned in class, she quickly knocked the first man out and jumped at the second. "You sneaky brat!" the second hisses trying to shoot her. Raising her own hand swiftly while dodging flying bullets, she fires the gun she'd picked up from the first man. "Silence." she commands in a monotoned voice. The man falls and the first never rises.

The scenes change again. The girl is 16. She is running, racing down the dark streets. He is chasing her, she is sure of it. Dead end comes up and there's no where to turn now."My, my if it isn't the little girl from 8 years ago?" an all to familiar voice calls. Slow, almost mocking claps ring through the quiet air and the girl is frozen solid, eyes wide as her breaths start coming out in short bursts. "Looks someone picked up some nasty skills. I wonder if good ol Daddy knows." the man says, taunting her from the shadows. "Shut up. I'm going to kill you." she hisses, finally turning around and meeting the same amber gold eyes from all those years ago. The man steps out from the shadows, no longer baring the young face he once had. It was older, leaner and scarier looking. "Really?" he mocks raising an eyebrow. "Really." The man scoffs. "And how will you do that? You clearly don't have any weapons like 3 years ago when you so rudely disposed of my helpers." Blue eyes widen slightly but harden a second later, hiding the fear felt beneath the surface.

Lunching, she darts forward and strikes the man a few times, landing blows on the body critical points. He howls in pain, lunging at the girl who was now scrambling back in fear."You know, I really should've killed you then. But then I wouldn't have the joy of doing it now." he whispers with a dark smile, trapping Piper against the cold walls, a gun pointed right at her. Leaning in, he grabs her by the throat and presses the cool metal against her
forehead lightly. "Ready to say goodbye little girl? Bet ya Mommy will be so glad to see you again." he said with a low laugh. "Goodbye now..."

Piper's eyes snap open. Her breaths are short as she shoots up, panicking as she feels something digging into her hand, sharp and painful. Yanking her hand away, not caring that the motion caused her hand to be ripped open. Looking around wildly, she tries to remember where she was, her mind still stuck on past events. A loud bang echoes from outside. A strangled cry tears from her throat as she reached out and blindly shoved the other woman away from her roughly as hard as she could while scooting away, panic and confusion seeping into her eyes. Moving to fast to far, Piper ended up going to far and topped over off the bed, landing with a thud where she tried to get up, her hand reaching instinctively for her sword.

Elle had no idea that she could have that kind of reaction. When Piper fell off the bed, Elle tried to to grab for her but she barley missed and heard the thud.

"Hold on there Piper!' Elle rolled off the bed before Piper could touch her sword and she kicked it away from her.

She seemed to be still lost in the dream even though she was awake and that wasn't good for either of them. If Piper drawn her sword, one of them might have gotten accidentally hurt or killed. She only kicked it just out of reach so she could keep from getting stabbed but it was still to close by. Trying to avoid getting stabbed or Piper going into more of a panic, Elle grabbed her and tossed her onto her back on the bed. She pinned her hands above her head with one hand and used the other to touch her cheek gently.

Making shushing noises, Elle did her best to calm her down. Pinning her might not have been the best move but she didn't want her getting hurt or stumbling.

"Calm down Piper, you were having a nightmare. It's only me. Im not going to hurt you..." Elle's voice was calm and soothing "You safe here. Calm and try to breath."

Doing what she hated most, Elle emitted a very small amount of pheromones in order to to help slow down Pipers heart rate and calm her. Is was only enough to help and not do anything more to her. She wouldn't be able to smell anything or even scene it but it would make a small difference.

"You awake now, I'm not going to hurt you but I needed to wake you up. Are you calm now?" Her voice was still calm and she continued to produce the pheromones until she was sure that Piper was calm and lucid.
