Diary Entry #0
[Day 1]

What a weird morning. First, I wake up with the window open and my phone alarm activating twice in one morning. Second, people have been avoiding me for some reason. They'd stare at me as if I'm a lost tourist, and if I look back, they'll just avert their eyes as if they weren't looking at me in the first place. I couldn't even say "good morning" because of that! Maybe it's because I had just moved to Yamanashi a few days ago. Even then, is the community in this town so tight-knit they would ostracize their new unknown neighbor?

Sigh... Maybe I'm just overthinking it, I thought. I moved in Nemusou Town, one of the oldest towns in Yamanashi. Most of the houses here were either close to breaking down and was up for rent or sale, and as such, the town looked terribly pale. It doesn't help that the weather was humid and cloudy today, adding to the depressing atmosphere. Still -- it was one of the cheapest houses I bought with my late parents' inheritance money. A year's worth of rent in Tokyo for a permanent residence under my name in Nemusou Town? If you were a common-sensing intellectual like me, the choice was easy.

Since I didn't have a bike yet, I have to walk for a while to get to Akanotohana School. I thought of using my inheritance money to buy one, but I didn't want to waste it too much. I have to be responsible as someone living alone, so I have to get a part-time job within the next week or so.

My seemingly uneventful walk filled with my thoughts wouldn't last long, however.

"Yoooo! Are you also a student from Akanotohana?!" A man shouted behind me. Turning around without disrupting my stride, the man had a bright, spiky orange hair and an expressive emotion. From a closer observation as he kept running closer to me, he also had the same uniform as I did: a blue long-sleeved shirt, striped blue tie, with corresponding black pants and white shoes.

"Hiyaaaa!" He energetically greeted himself with a gleeful smile. "The name's Makoto Takahashi! I thought I was the only one from the school living here in Nemusou."

"Ah... I'm pleased to meet you as well," I greeted him with a bow. "I'm Hiroshi Akaki."

"Akaki?" Takahashi pondered for a second before gasping, "Ah, Akaki-san! You're the new resident."

I nodded. "I moved here a few days ago, how did you know?"

With a chuckle, Takahashi answered, "Nah. It's just so quiet here in Nemusou. There aren't a lot of residents here so I instantly knew."

"I-I see..." After his statement, it instantly confirmed my earlier thought: the fact that the community here in Nemusou really is tight-knit. That would explain why my other neighbors looked at me ealier like a weird zoo animal. "Have you long have you been living here? And how's campus life at Akanotohana?"

As we answered each other's questions, we continued to walk to our school. It won't take long before the school campus would be in view, because the town entrance is located a few blocks away from the campus proper. Takahashi answered my previous question, "I came to Nemusou around a year ago. It was really boring at first, but I've grown accustomed to the peaceful atmosphere in this town. It's like nothing's ever happening!" He continued. "Akanotohana is the same. It gets really, really crowded during the school festival though, it's like people all over the city come here to buy our food."

It didn't take long for us to enter the main road, where the Akanotohana School building lay just beyond the pine trees and unbloomed cherry blossom trees. But instead of walking with Takanashi towards the school, he instead went to the right. I asked him, "Where are you going? School's supposed to be that way."

"Cutting class, of course! It's the start of the year, so I bet teachers will give me a little leeway for being absent in the first day of class~" He playfully laughed. "You coming?"

Urgh... He does have a point. Nothing really ever happens during the first day of class, but I already thought of going early to give my current classmates a good impression of me -- the new transferee.

What do I do, then?

>> Be a delinquent and cut the first day of class

>> Go to school like I originally planned on doing

>> [] Write in: Go somewhere else

Sorry for the late first thread, I got so busy during the weekends but I should be good now! I will usually wait around 2 days for everyone to reply and the next post will come within those 2 days as well.

I don't want to pressure you into choosing if you lose interest, so I usually remove your user from the mentions if you don't choose within the next 3 2 posts, or if you manually opt out of it by telling me.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Especially in a "tight-nit" community. Do we really want to skip day 1 and find ourselves without a chance to try to participate in the clique formation or at least become a familiar face?

I vote we don't skip.

Dead parents? Ostracized as an outsider in a dying town where nothing happens?

Time to imprint on the first person who acknowledges that you exist. ;3

I vote to skip school ye. Every MC needs a bro.

The whole town looks at us like we're a freak and this guy is friendly? Okay, I'll bite.

Let's play a fun game of Charlie goes to Candy Mountain. Let's just hope what happened in what I just referenced isn't going to happen to us.

Vote seconded for skipping.

#1. Was skipping the first day of school even a good idea? New

Diary Entry #1
[Day 1]

What a difficult decision, I thought. I already planned to go to school early so I can at least talk to my classmates and make some friends before they go with their old friends. But there's a possibility that someone from my previous school knows who I am and outs me as the "weird anime kid." If that happens, my still-blank reputation will plummet and I might regress back to my old self... So, with that in mind, I decided to play it safe and walk with Takahashi.

After catching up with him, I first asked him about the village. "Takahashi, are the people in Nemusou Village really that unapproachable?" I continued, "I came by my neighbor's house the other day with chocolate and fruits from my old hometown. I was sure they're home, they just didn't open the door."

The orange-haired boy nodded. He still acted carefree as he spoke, as if it was a normal occurence at this village, "They're closeted and often keep to themselves. They never go out even during holidays and festivals." He patted my back reassuringly, which packed a bit of a punch. "Don't worry, Akaki! This is just how the long-time residents act. Like I said, it's peaceful once you get used to it."

I agree with the sentiment. I typically don't talk to my neighbors unless it's needed, so the reassurance that they won't bother me at all is relieving.

Takahashi and I have been walking for bit, and Nemusou really does seem like a ghost town. We were walking on the sidewalk of the main road, while across it was the blocks and streets of the village. There wasn't a single person walking their dog or someone jogging in the morning, and just like my new orange-haired friend said, not even students from Akanotohana.

Or, so I thought.

While looking at my new hometown, I saw a glimpse of a girl exiting her house. She had dark-brown hair and wore a red blazer over a blue school uniform, which told me enough that she was a student at Akanotohana School. I didn't stop to greet her however because just across the intersection was Rawson convenience store.

As we crossed the car-less road, I refuted Takahashi's claim of us being the only students in the neighborhood, "Takahashi, I saw a girl in our school uniform at the village. Maybe you missed one?" I said as Takahashi the automatic door to the convenience store slid open, producing a familiar tone.

Again, Takahashi shook his head. "No way, man! I always deliver newspapers across houses during the weekend. I'd have known that a schoolmate lives here long ago."

"Maybe she was also a new resident?"

"The only unusual noise here since the past two weeks was your moving truck, Akaki. You're probably seeing things."

Takahashi was quick to take down my claim. I didn't want to make my morning even weirder by claiming to see a girl who doesn't exist, so I just accepted what he said. With a sigh, I started to look for what I wanted to buy in the convenience store.

Then, the temperature settled in! It was already cold outside because of the springtime wind, but it was even colder inside the store. What's more surprising is that the female worker at the register didn't seem bothered with the temperature. If she was even bothered at all, maybe it was the bored expression of someone undergoing a mid-life existential crisis. Despite the cold, I did crave a flavored popsicle... So, out of the freezer I grabbed a watermelon popsicle.

Beside the freezer was Takahashi who wasn't holding any store product at all. Instead, he was staring at the magazine racks... Particularly, the womens' clothes and lingerie magazine. He was staring at them so intently with a unbridled focus, but he dared not to touch them, since doing so would cost him a social suicide.

And thus, my perspective of my new friend immediately plummeted. At first, he seemed charismatic and friendly. But skipping the first day of classes just to stare at half-naked women was a new low. What a disgusting pervert... I thought with a defeated sigh.

Just as I was about to pay for my popsicle, I saw a familar girl in our school uniform walking on the sidewalk across the convenience store. With the same dark-brown hair tied to a ponytail and a red blazer, the resemblance was strikingly similar to the girl I saw earlier...!

"I-it's her, Takahashi!" I tapped his shoulder repeatedly. "That's the girl I saw earlier!"

"Hm? Ah," Takahashi recognized the girl. "That's Maika Furuka. She was the student council president last academic year, it's likely that she'd also be the president this year. She's so hot, amirite?"

The transparent glass separating the store from the outside world must've been so thin, because after Takahashi catcalled her, Maika Furuka stopped walking. She shot the two of us a sharp, deadly glance that if her eyes could kill, we'd be dead by now.

>> Consider yourself unassociated with Takahashi

>> Apologize with Takahashi

I added a characters and lore page at the top of the thread! Or just click at the link below, they both lead to the same page lol. I repurposed it from the lore page of the story from before the reboot, and I will updated it with character face claims and lore as the story continues!

Huh, what? What does this mean? Is he saying we're hte only students skipping? Or is he claiming the school literally only has two students? The former sounds more plausible but how we could possibly know such a thing?

Well, not sure how much that can really be considered a "catcall" given it wasn't meant for her to hear, though it's still definitely innapropriate. So I guess we apologize?

Ah -- what I meant was that only Takahashi knew that he was the only student from Akanotohana in the small neighborhood of Nemusou Village, along with Akaki. By seeing the girl in a students' uniform, Akaki refuted Takahashi's claim that they were the only students in the village, since Akaki saw the girl herself emerging from the street.

Seems like I used the wrong word by using town instead of village, lemme go ahead and rewrite it to avoid confusion.

I feel like if we don't apologize here. We're gonna get Gogo'd from Kill Bill. Except we don't have years of training from an old Asian master. Thus we die to a chain mace.

I'm apologizing.

>watches anime
>thinks that someone else having an interest in 3D women is disgusting

SMH. Little bro really is a weird anime kid.

Anyways, she's probably more staring at us because she knows we're about to skip classes. I doubt that we'll be investigating the paranormal activity of the president being able to hear casual conversations through glass walls. And really, what's she gonna do, other than maybe lecture us about impropriety?

That is to say, I'd go for the 'Agree' route. Surely it's a better route than going 'Oh, sorry for thinking you're hot'?

Agree. Because I want to break every trope imaginable.

Every anime MC apologizes for some nonsense. Nawh, we stand our ground.

A bit new but I'd like to join up; reject the membership in the typical MC club 🤣

>> Agree with Takahashi's comment about Furuka
