The Principle Journey: Wrath of the North Main IC

Pirate Brute

One of the pirates still on the airship looked on as the battle was not going well. He decided to join the fray and hurled himself downwards carrying with him two cannonballs. He crashed into the floor with the wood nearly breaking through because of the enormous weight of this brute pirate. Wasting no time, he hurled 1 cannon ball towards Timore Williams ( @Creekstar ) then other at the violent fighter woman Kairi Kudo ( @Kairikudo ) He belted out a rather primal roar of a laughter. Taking 2 of his knives, he threw them at some random crew member of the MKS Hood hoping to take him down and many more people while he stood on deck.

The mercenaries eyes scanned the surroundings as to find her next 'victim', but her attention was immediately caught when she saw that another airship was nearing them her eyes widen as she wandered 'more pirates? Oh how that would be wonderful!' She thought to herself her hopes shattered when Albert landed on the ship cutting down the pirate that Grifyn and Cecil had been battling. 'he doesn't look like a pirate. Damn tin headed fool. Doesn't he know it's wrong to steal someone's fun away' a displeased look painted her face at the thought of someone taking away her fun "Well shorty I guess I better get serious before tin head over there takes away all the fun" saying that she slide out her second blade (Arte 1). The sounds of swords clashing was disrupted by the loud boom of two cannons going off from the airship above. Damn it, she would have to be quick if she wanted to fight more.

Timore glanced at the crazy lady nervously as she spoke. What was wrong with her? All of the... fun? Any extra assistance was welcome to him, as long as this battle ended quickly. He was hardly built for this type of thing, and certainly didn't enjoy it. Still, he stayed near her, slightly behind and to the right. Maybe she could do all of the fighting, and he could just avoid it. That would probably work. He could just heal her wounds when she badly injured, and... Timore's train of thought was disrupted by a huge crash, as a massive pirate had slammed into the deck maybe ten meters away. The deck boards shuddered and creaked with the strain; it was a miracle that they didn't break. Timore didn't have time to notice anything else about this new attacker, however, as a huge cannon ball was immediately whizzing through the air towards him.

The projectile was moving too fast. Timore had no time to react, let alone dodge the iron sphere. It hit him on the right side of his chest, a cracking sound accompanying the meaty smack made by the impact. As the cannon ball dropped to his feet, Timore staggered backwards slightly, gasping for breath. Black spots swam before his eyes. Planting his quarterstaff in the ground and leaning on it to catch his breath, he tried to assess the damage done. It seemed that part of his rib cage had been cracked by the impact, and there was probably some bruising. However, it didn't seem to be anything immediately life-threatening.

What should he do now? Should he fight the big pirate that had just attacked him? That pirate looked intimidating, to say the least, but this might be his best chance to attack. After all, he was already fairly close to the pirate, and it would probably be harder to approach from farther away because of the pirate's projectiles. Timore had just been injured, though; would he be up to it? Maybe it would get in the way and he would fail miserably? Nervously, he stood still while trying to decide, forgetting about the scary woman and if she had been injured for the time being. After debating for about a minute or two, he made up his mind. He'd attack now; it was his best chance.

Kairi held both katanas in her hands searching even more intently until she heard a large crash on the ship, instinctively she turned her head to see what, or who it was. Before she had time to move the big pirate brute threw a cannonball at her and timore."Oh shi-" her words cut off as the cannon ball hit her right in the middle of her chest, a cracking sound was heard as she let out a gasp from the wind getting knocked out of her. Now another injury to add onto the list for timore to heal. She skid back as the cannonball fell to her feet. After a moment of silence the strange mercenary started...to laugh? No, more corrupt then a normal laugh at a joke, this laugh was darker. Her head lifted up, a big grin on her face. "Well that really hurt..." Her grip on the blades of her katanas tightened she staggered a bit before gaining her balance and ran towards the brute swinging her sword down at him from the outside away from Timore.

Albert awoke with a shock to his system, a blarring ring resounded in his head and would not let go of him. His sword trembling in his shaky grasp and legs giving way for but a moment, leaving his knee deep in the corpse of his victim. The blood seeping into the slits of his armor, he could feel its warm embrace; the loose balloon like feeling from the organs which ruptured as he trembled. Where was captain Turian? Where was the inverness? Albert bit his lip and forcefully stood his ground to survey his surroudings, the chaos in that instant overwhelmed his senses. A low voice came from behind him called out to him, almost sounding as if it was annoyed with him more than anything. T'was quite odd for him as he tried to gain his balance, he tried inhaling deeply once more with his eyes closed once more, trying to separate all of the information flooding in at once. "9...10-11, 12", he said, opening his eyes and exhaling once more.

It's apparent that this was the ship he saw earlier and he really did, despite his instincts telling him not to, jump to his doom. He chuckled thanking the gods for having mercy on him,but perhaps it was too early to count his blessing just yet. He felt as if he had garnered a rather ill reputation with his action, the man to his side not a moment before had given him a dirty look. Perhaps it was because of his woman, wanting to impress a lady in the midst of combat? The two as luck may have it or perhaps fate itself, proved that they were good team mates to say the least. To his right he felt a slight pin sensation come from a rather pretty girl wielding two blades, foreign ones at that. Al's face perturbed at how unlady she was, but that spunk was worth double the points in his book. He bowed his head slightly in respect for the man he killed without knowing and lifted his blade from its chest, with one slash sending the entrails entangled on its end flying in the wind. The situation by all rights had been rather, resolved for the moment. The heroes of the ship seemed tobe gathered round him and the pirates who boarded the ship seemed to be in disarray, cowering in the corner, frozen in fear. They constantly looked toward the airship above them and back at us, letting panic sink in.

Al was rather intrigued by the situtation, two ships had seemingly emptied their load and the crew of the merchant ship seemed to be winning on its side. With cheers resounding in the ship, but what was this feeling of dread that he felt? The second air ship didn't pull out as its predecessor, but rather maintained its position. There was something amiss, just based on its positioning alone, it was even in danger of being shot by the inverness' crew. So what? What's the de--

Just like an omen a gargantuan man dropped from the sky as he had, the force of his landing rocking the ship and splintering the boards beneath him. Armed with two cannon balls the beast launched them with his sheer might toward the timid looking fellow and butch woman, his body instinctively trying to move to their aid but it would not move. He was still trembling from shock, still not having regained his bearing from the stunt. Nonetheless he grasped the hilt of his blade with all his might and ran behind the two the giant initially attacked. The woman being closer, he made a short stop toward the cannon ball which cracked her good and picked it up himself. He lifted it with his auxiliary hand and threw it around 5 meters over his head, readying his blade with both hands, he slammed the ball with his blade to send it flying toward the beast's stomach. Using the momentum from his swing, he sprinted toward his foe. His eyes trained upon his stomach. He jumped above it and flipped thrice wielding his blade in one hand to slash at downward twice. It's flesh was rended by al's attack, but he was too dizzy to tell as he fell to the ground. Gravity didn't like him today.

Pirate Brute

His eyes were wide with excitement as he saw his targets writhe in pain from having a solid ball of metal bruise their fragile bodies. He shouted obscenities and directed other pirates to push their onslaught. The Brute gained the attention he wanted. With these people aimed toward him the other pirates would have a better chance at pillaging plundering and wrecking the crew and passengers to smithereens. The twin wielding katana girl came at him first even though clearly injured. His grungy smile, revealing wooden teeth was followed by a licking of lips and spitting the excrement of his mouth on the deck. Her pitiful attempt was met with a mediocre swing of his cutlass. He grunted as if wanting for more. A young man thought to get the jump on him by aiming at the blind side of his head but the Brute dismissed it with his armored hand not even looking in the direction of the lad, as if saying he was not worth his time. However with both hands full he had no time to react to the cannonball that had returned to him. He bulged his stomach out to meet it deflecting the ball without a hint of damage, but that was just a ruse, for the real attack came from above and with his hands still occupied a rotating downward strike slashed at him. He tried dodging it but it hit his left temple and left side of his upper chest during his effort to move out of the way. His breathing became a little harder indicating the hits did do some damage. But now it was his turn. He took his 5 ft long cutlass and swung it around rapidly at Timore. This little man was done for.

A clang could be heard as Timore's quarterstaff collided with a gauntlet. The pirate could defend with two hands at once? Oh no... he hadn't been expecting that. He had thought that at least he or the scary woman would be able to land a hit, but it was no use. Fortunately, the newcomer Timore had spotted earlier came to their aid. The injuries he inflicted on their opponent seemed to be minimal, but every little bit would probably help. Before Timore could even back out of range again, however, the brutish pirate swung his cutlass with startling speed at him.

Timore brought his quarterstaff around to block the rapid-moving cutlass just in time. He heard the first two attacks bounce off, but then a sudden pain from his previous injury caused him to lower his guard slightly. Desperately trying and failing to parry the next attack, he felt an excruciating pain as the cutlass sliced him across the stomach. He was too distracted by the feeling of blood seeping out of the fresh wound to even try to block the fourth slash. It hit him on the right shoulder, cutting deep. Timore could feel the cold steel of the weapon touch the bone. Trying desperately to think clearly through the pain, which was threatening to cause him to pass out, he was considering attacking out of desperation. He began to raise his quarterstaff again, and... found that he couldn't. The damage to his shoulder wouldn't allow him to raise that arm high enough without a good deal of pain. Attacking was out of the question for now. This realized, Timore quickly backed out of reach behind the scary woman and crouched there, left hand covering the gash in his stomach. He would have to heal his shoulder as soon as he got the chance; he was pretty much dead otherwise.

Having both her hands caught at the moment, she had no time to defend against the cutlass that would now Pierce her side. Her eyes widen a bot seeing the healer almost dead, that look of joy she had was now replaced with anger. She pressed her feet against the pirates side, pushing off of him though not causing any damage to the pirate she was able to move back farther while catching the heaters collar and pulling him back with her. "Shorty this is too dangerous for you. You better believe when we are done here I'm going to give you an earful when I stitch your stomach up" she said. From where Cecil mourned his clean robes over the fourth or fifth person he'd ever slain, his attention was refocused by the hulking figure that'd crashed into the fray. Well, the most recent one. The first, more lithe fellow clad in sharp metal which scraped the wind appeared to be against the pirates as well. To Cecil's revulsion, he realized the squishy noises heard in the back of his mind were caused by this man breaking his landing on a now deceased pirate. He didn't allow this to linger on his mind too much. He should've been thankful. It was difficult to put the crumpled corpse nearby at the back of his mind, but he did so nonetheless.

The behemoth who'd just leapt from the structures (Humming, powerful and unnatural. Airships. Must be.) floating overhead roared ferociously. Whether this would rally his last underlings, Cecil was not certain until they made a move from where they quivered uselessly. The attacks cast by the large foe were unconventional, save for the daggers which flew towards those crew members still yet to flee. Cecil moved quickly, leaving the teasing man without a word.

His feet beat deftly in rapid beats across the deck laden with rubble. He skid to a stop. A swipe of his dagger too early. Whiffed air. There was a horrid puncture as a tiny blade inserted itself at his waist. Cecil struggled to not belly over onto the deck. He managed to stay standing. He grabbed the tiny handle, but then reconsidered when a jut of pain spread almost as fiercely as the first. He resolved to follow through, and a few seconds later the throwing knife clattered to his feet.

The sailor, who'd been busy crawling to safety, was paralyzed just behind. Cecil heard him scramble off, but it was difficult to make out anything anymore. He was gasping, trying to regain composure. "...that stung rather...Gah-!" Cecil gave up speech in favor of listening. He brought a bloody hand up to read the sea's prevailing wind, and made out the outlines of figures bouncing off one another across the deck. The brutish pirate was taking several defenders at once. Two of which were the bleeding woman and the timid boy. Both were being beaten down. The way it decimated the much smaller figures was worth concern. He hadn't a clue which side would prevail. He was tempted to stay out of it, but knew there was no where to run. If they won out, it'd have to be now.

He let his knife fly across the expanse.

Lieutenant Donar had gathered the men and brought them to the repair docks. Master Antarah was already there speaking with the yard superintendent. " Sir, People are dying and more are going to die. I alerted the Port authorities, they will not be able to dispatch a sizable force until their couriers get the word out to the already deployed vessels." They seemed to argue about helping out Vice-Commander Turian, and that if He was not able to get there more serious consequences will happen. The superintendent allowed Antarah passage to through the docks. " Lieutenant, we must hurry." he told him.

They all rushed through the wooden platforms passing ship after ship. They had finally reached her. The Defiant. An older refurbished Dakara Class Destroyer, and the Flagship of the Norhad Swords. She had been in repair docks here in Port City Victoria ever since 3 months ago, when Vice-Commander Turian and Lieutenant Donar along with a small dispatch force, came back from the Eastern Union on a very risky mission. The mission failed and military forces nearly tore the ship apart. However the Union's Navy probably thought they were pirates, and when they crossed into Northern Kingdoms Ocean territory, they halted their pursuit. Luckily for them, they were able to get to shore.

The incident sparked repercussions towards the Norhad Swords. As they were a mercenary guild funded by Maxwell and Welwyn Kingdoms, an accident in international or cross borders to other lands could spell diplomatic disaster.

" She's not fully armed nor combat ready. But we must do what we can to make her appear formidable. Arrange the men to take various assignments. We're leaving port in 5 minutes." he commanded. @Jack Rakan

The last of the men were off the second ship. It was now headed towards the Wings of Inverness to provide support. They were not fairing too well against them. Two airships would have them outgunned and out manned. It should be enough to take them down. While the action in the skies was about to take a turn, what was happening below had already begun to take effect. Those who were succeeding in pushing back the pirates were now occupied and the pirates started gaining ground.

Pirate Brute

Surprisingly the little whelp managed to survive the onslaught of the Brute Pirate. Though it did not come without great cost. He looked at Timore, clinging to life, holding his gut as if the contents were going to spill out. Although blood was already pouring out of the young man as if he were a geyser. This little act of resistance did not amuse the pirate however. He yelled greatly, with much frustration that a person with his power and stature should have trouble with someone the complete opposite. The warrior woman shrugged off his assault much more easily than the timid young boy. She continued to attack him not bothering to wait for an attack. He responded in kind, He blocked her attacks with his gauntlet rather easily. He threw a knife at her as well but she moved so fast between attacks that he missed. Turning his attention back towards Timore he seemingly punched the air and out of his fist came a another fist, made of stone ( arte level 1 ) which was aimed at Timore to End him once and for all.

However, her words would have a new target soon as she readied the final stages of the next shot.

"TURIAN! HURRY UP AND GET MANUEVERIN' OR WE'RE JUST GONA SIT HERE LIKE A FISH IN A BIG ASS FLYING BARREL!" her yelling continued until the moment the cannon fired, prompting yet another miss from her shot, not before taking out two parrots that were sitting atop of the pirate's shoulders. "BLAST IT ALL! WHY WON'T THIS DAMN THING WORK!" she cursed and spat upon the cannon, which felt very sad that it wasn't performing up to snuff today.

The first day with a new crew and it was missing! Oh goodness, this wasn't a good show of their skills! Especially not in front of a beautiful woman! Oh goodness, it should really get it's act together... Though it DID nearly hit the ship both times!

"THATS IT! WE'RE HITTING NEXT TIME DAMN IT!" the woman was once again fired up, but losing patience yet with the explosive armament. Cannon-san must work harder next time! He can't let this woman down! Next shot will be perfect!!!

With lightning speed the woman loaded the cannon, powder, cotton, ball, powder... wait powder?  ah shit she put powder in the last part.

Looking up at the giant Al noticed the slight wound he inflicted, but the beast had shrugged off the combined assault of three people rather easily. Charging forth like a rampaging bull, Al kicked off and slid out of the way barely, but not before the brute threw began to assult the small boy. The little guy, try as he might met his attacks head on, managing to stand his ground at great cost to himself. He was bleeding profusely now, holding onto the gash on his stomach instinctively. Though he stood behind his woman, she too was beginning to show signs of wear. The spunk she had held upon his arrival now dimly lit as she scolded her companion. Why is this happening? Why can't I do anything!? Here I stand on the sidelines marveling at their spirit, but am useless as pirates who attacked

In the corner of his eye he noticed others repelling from the second airship he noticed earlier, their spirit had returned. They patted eachother on the back in a sickeningly fashion, as if they had any reason to fear for their own lives as the aggressors. There the giant was, barreling down upon the injured boy amongst the chaos. His fist changed, as if its very composition was changing. It moved more sluggishly as he cocked his arm for the attack, but part of his arm had this jagged look about it. Something was amiss, that was most likely an arte. Without regard for his surroundings, Al leapt into the fray with everything that he had. Coming between the couple and their assailant, Al roared toward the two, " Get down kiddos!" Using his massive blade, Al grasped his blade in both hands and swung in a wide horizontal (225 degrees) arc to intercept the giant's swing. The collision let out a thunderous low pitch crash.Al stood before the two leaning forward and his arms trembling from the attack, but he refused to lose even an inch. Losing his awareness on his surroundings he focused squarely on the giant's gaze, teeth clenched and brow furrowed as a trickle of sweat ran down his cheek.

Turning his blade once more, he shoved the giant away and slashed stepped forth and swung toward the giant's right leg with the intention to sweep him and in one fluid motion jumped off the ground using the previous momentum to execute an overhead slash.

Timore winced as the scary lady dragged him backwards. He wished she would stop; the motion was not helping the intense pain he was feeling. It made his brain foggy, and he couldn't quite figure out what she was saying. It sounded like she was scolding him, though. Oh no, he thought, is she mad at me? I'm sorry that I'm not a good fighter... He jolted slightly as the scary lady let go and launched herself at the huge pirate. What was she doing? He would be left completely open. What if the pirate launched another attack at him?

To Timore's great horror, the pirate did indeed make to finish him off. The scary lady's attacks had done nothing, and he was done for. Closing his eyes tightly as the pirate's fist flew towards him, Timore braced himself, fearfully waiting for the painful impact that might very well be the last thing he ever felt. To his surprise, he heard a yell and a crash, but felt nothing. Forcing one eye open slowly, he saw the back of the newcomer. Had the man... defended him? He was safe? He slumped over slightly in relief, but only let himself rest for a moment. This was his chance to heal his shoulder.

"Ay Lady, don't rush me. I'm movin' as fast as I can." Eiss was having trouble keeping up with Alberta, who was now readying her cannon at breakneck speed. Not wanting to be outdone or left behind, Eiss doubled his preparation speed at the cost of efficiency. He spilled some of the powder and once more he dropped the cannonball. This time it did land on his foot, and he shouted a curse so foul that even the gods would have taken offense. Good thing the sound of woman's cannon firing concealed his profane statement.

He hastily stuffed the cannonball inside and looked through the porthole to see what the woman fired at. The sight of two distraught pirates greeted him, both of whom where covered in an array of colorful feathers. No real damage was done however, and he could only assume she missed yet again. "A tree has better aim than you. Lemme show you how it's done." Eiss leveled the cannon, aiming for the same pair of pirates who the woman fired upon. He fired and the cannonball soared through the air once more. One pirate threw himself to the deck of the airship, while the other was almost beheaded. The cannonball sailed over his head, knocking off the hat he wore.

Alas, he had aimed a smidgen too high. Either that or his early hasty mistakes had affected aim. Whatever it was, Eiss had already speedily prepared his next round in an attempt to keep up with the cannon mistress.

Donar bowed quickly. "Yes Commander."

He walked away from the commander and addressed the men, "Alright men, take your positions! Master Gunner, take your mates and check the guns. Boatswaine! prepare for departure! Engineers, Check the Live Stones and Impellers! the rest of you, make this ship look intimidating! Helmsman, Take the helm!"

Though it was not battle ready, there was still protocol. As the men dispersed and boarded with what supplies they have. Donar look a look at the Ship, despite the mishap a few months ago, it truly stayed to it's name. Defiant.

He smirked, it was pretty embarrassing that it happened that way, but it was one of the first missions Donar had under the Nohrad Swords. "We leave in Four minuets! Prioritize!"

He boarded the ship it wasn't as bad as it was when they landed at the port, but she looked ready enough to bare her teeth despite not being battle ready. The Ship itself seemed to be ready to destroy something with the live stones and sails getting ready. A ship full of Pride she is...

"Sir! the wind cries for us!" shouted a crewman. Donar nodded looking over the starboard side at the docks towards the Commander "We are ready to leave Commander!"

Aboard the Ferry MKS Hood

That one-legged pirate was gone for good. Grifyn's plan had worked exceptionally, as expected. The bard may have a bit of a problem with her clothing getting tarnished by the sea-scum's blood, but that can be solved at a latter date.

Things were a bit more messier than earlier now.

A large-framed brute had dropped onto their ship. His entourage pretty much caught the attention of everyone, except for Grifyn. For some reason, he didn't think this guy was worth a damn. Apparently, he was wrong. This brute was giving the three - the crazy woman, the timid boy, and the intruder, a difficult time. Hell, he even gave time for the pirates to regain their advantage in this conflict. Possible casualties were popping up everywhere.

Luckily for them, that was not the entire pirate fleet, or whatever you call them in a group. An airship seemed to have allied with them and is trying to fend of the other ships of these pirates. They seem to be quite busy, so it is expected that help will not come for them soon. They are on their own for now.

And that's terrible news.

The young lad is severely injured, blood has dripped from his wounds. His movements were getting sloppier than before. The crazy woman as well. She was not having an optimal performance. The intruder, however, seems to be trying his best to hold off this humongous oppressor and buy time for the others to retaliate.

Grifyn would have joined them, if not for the remaining pirates who still roamed the ship. These people can fend for themselves, obviously. But the sailors, and those other passengers, they desperately need help. And what other thing would Grifyn do in this time and situation, other than being a heroic bastard?

Thus, he began to weave his tale of glory. He started to construct the story of his legacy. To the rescue, he goes!

First, he bid farewell to the bard. They'll see again each other soon, hopefully.

He dashed to the beat-up maiden, full of blood and bruises. He knelt down beside her. Her eyes were closed, and her face was swollen. What had transpired before the bard interfered, had already traumatized her. She was in shock.

She whimpered. Tears fell down from her closed eyes, washing away some of the stains of blood on her face.

"Do not worry.", Grifyn said, gently touching her shoulder, trying not to cause her any more pain. "I'm here to help you. Just don't move too much, alright?"

She nodded.

Grifyn, with much concentration, slowly made his way into carry the beat-up maiden, without making contact into some painful spots. She moaned and groaned every once in a while, but Grifyn's voice seemed to calm her a bit. As the blond hero carried her, he headed to the cabin. Hopefully, there were medical supplies there - enough to tend to her wounds temporarily. Of course, he did not dash using the wet floor. Such an action would cause the ill maiden to be in greater pain.

Upon reaching the said destination, he nudged the door open with a backwards tackle. What welcomed him there was the mother and child he had rescued earlier, a bunch more of innocent bystanders, and of course, the sailors. He gave her to the able-bodied men, who then gently carried her away to some sort of bed. "She needs immediate medical attention.", Grifyn said with a made-up sincere tone. "If there's anyone who is a professional here, please help her to the best that you can. I do not mind paying for it."

Just as he was about to leave, a child came to him, and grabbed a portion of his trousers, stopping him from his tracks. "Mister, mister.", the child said.

Turning to face the little one, Grifyn replied with a gentle, approachable voice. "What is it, kid?"

"My doggy's out there.", the child pointed beyond the doors of the cabin, slowly getting teary-eyed. "He might be hurt. Can you please get him, mister?"

The pleas of an adorable child like this was far beyond Grifyn's reasoning. "I will come back here, kiddo. And you'll have your dog, unharmed."

The child was pleased with his words, and hurried off to the distant corners of the cabin. Another one approached him, this time, one of the sailors. "What goin' on up there, lad? We been hearin' booms and crashes 'ere. You got 'em pirates yet?"

"Not yet.But they will be gone.", Grifyn said. He pushed the doors open, took a step forward, and raised his right hand. He gave them a thumbs up, whilst looking from behind. "But don't worry. We'll handle this." Then, he was out. The doors were closed, and whatever happened within the cabin - whether he was praised for having such a cool pose, or not, stayed in the cabin. Now, Gryfin had another task to do. Another heroic deed to include in his growing heroic tale.

Rescue that dog. He did not know what it looked like, but he's pretty sure there's only one dog in this ship. After all, he was roaming around it a while ago, until these sea brigands came attacking.

For a short while, Grifyn had a difficult time scanning his surrounding whilst avoiding encounters with the pirates, just to find the dog. Until it barked multiple times. That was when he came rushing in. A pirate was going for the dog, blabbering about meat and delicacy. This guy should be reported for violating animal rights. Right after Grifyn gets that dog to safety.

A dagger, from the giant brute afar, was headed towards the dog as well. Grifyn had to speed up.

And so, once again, the wet floor grants him the glory he so deeply desires. It was as if he was skating on ice, he got to the dog just in time to deflect the dagger with his fist. No wounds, only a graze left to his arm. The dog, however, was still in danger. The pirate, who was chasing the dog, hated being interrupted - which Grifyn had just done.

A cutlass made its way to Grifyn's head, as the pirate groaned in frustration. However, Grifyn was the hero of his story. And a hero does not die that early. Plot armor protects the protagonist.

With a quick sidestep, Grifyn dodges the deathly attack, and strikes back quicker than the pirate could react. The pirate tried to block it by covering his face with his arms, but Grifyn aimed lower. A powerful kick sent the pirate flying to the sky, and within a few seconds falling back to the ground. 'Cause gravity, you know.

And as the pirate fell, exactly in the direction which he flew up, Grifyn readied to knock this guy down. In an instant, the pirate's spinal cord made contact with Grifyn's raised fist. The impact was too strong that it snapped his spine in two, and made Grifyn's fist grazed. The pirate fell to the ground, dead with a broken spine. The battle was over. Or at least, one of it. Now that the enemy was defeated, the dog stopped barking and cuddled with Grifyn's foot.

Grifyn, once more, overwhelmed by this adorable creature, lifted the small dog up with both of his arms. "You know...", he said. "I really want to keep you as a pet, but the child needs you."

The dog barked at him, and licked his face.

"Alright.", he said, as he started to dash towards the cabin's doors. "Let's get you back to your owner."

Long story short, the kid got his dog back, and Grifyn was praised by the little one, and some other people. He returned back outside, and got ready to do more heroic deeds to fuel his tale of legacy.

The heroic bastard has resurfaced.

The battle in the skies continued one sided as the Wings of inverness were capable of dealing a second blow to the pirate airship. The damage dealt with two pirates and was extensive enough to have the pirates make a full retreat. They lowered their ship towards the water and began to cruise away, towards the direction they came from. They did not dare continue in the air. The second airship came up to take its place. The pirates open fired when they came into range and scored a direct hit on the forward mast tearing a hole and a good size chunk of the sail torn apart. It seemed these pirate had better luck.

The few pirates that were left on the MKS were huddle together to fend off the groups of resisters. The final ship had pulled up. After slowly lumbering the sea, the main attack force was eager to spill blood on gold and jewels. Harpoons and rope were crossing over from the aged ship and what seemed to be a hundred pirates were cheering and jeering.

Pirate Brute

Just as he was about to take the little snot out of his misery. some foolish hero wannabe blocked his assault pushing him back. And the push only continued as the snot nosed brat and the crazy woman each followed up with their own attacks. The brute stumble on some loosened plank and rolled until he hit the edge of the boat. His rage went out of control and he roared his way back to his feet, all the while tearing up the wooden planks of the ship and throwing them with great force towards the Sword Woman @Kairikudo and then directed his spirit energy once again into his fist launching it at Timore @Creekstar even as he was stabbed by a throwingt knife. The pain was not slowing him down a bit, even with all of them hitting their mark.

Kairi was starting to grow weary, the pain from the wounds getting worst, but she couldn't stop now. The only way she could be able to get healed is if they can take this brute out and out quick. Her eyes narrowed as if she was focusing closely on the pirates movements. He was definitely strong but he seemed to become a little berserk out of frustration as he threw the blanks at her. She jumped out of the way just. She slide across the floor before using the floor to push off to increase he'd speed as she launched her first attack stabbing him right in the side for a bit of payback, since she was petty like that, she launched another attack but this time she aimed for his good leg, stabbing him at the knee

Albert felt a sliver hope as he watched the couple land their own blows upon the behemoth, sending him stumbling to the ship's edge. He tried to make a move in order to capitalize on its positioning, but his body would not move. His arms shaking from exchanging blows with the behemoth sent a wave of pain running up his arms. In the corner of his eye he noticed the kid moving about as he had earlier, taking care of the other pirate. But what good would that do when the second airship managed a blow upon his group's own? They were closing in to make the final blow and all the while this beast hasn't simmered down in the slightest. His body full of gashes, blood decorating his entire front half. Yet he came, powering through the spunky woman as if nothing happened, roaring as he cocked his arm for another punch. Here goes nothing

Al leaned forward, shoulder out and blade readied to his side. He clenched his teeth for impact and focused squarely on the beast's fist, all the world fading at that moment. Its fist crashed upon Al's shoulder like water on a dam. At the same time he thrust his blade into the beast's fist, but it bounced out its rocky edge when Al lost balance. He slid upon the ship's slippery floor, his  armored shoulder imprinted with the beast's fist upon impact. Still Al did not falter, digging his blade into the ship's deck to slow his sliding.

Without a moment to spare he charged back at the beast with his teeth gritted. His left arm flailed in the wind as readied his right arm by doubling down his grip upon its hilt. He lifted the blade over his head and swung down upon his adversary, letting out a hollow metallic crash upon impact. Though he couldn't tell what was happening as his vision blurred, relying solely on the feeling of the impact breaking upon a blurry figure before him.

Timore felt a glimmer of hope as the brutish pirate was slowly pushed back by the onslaught of blows from his allies. Not many of their attacks were actually connecting with the brute's skin, but they seemed to be slowly managing to chip away at his stamina nonetheless. Unfortunately, the pirate was doing far more damage to them than they were to him. None of them were uninjured; Timore himself had been close to death only recently. The scary lady did not seem to be in good shape, either. On her face was a pained expression; her eyes were narrowed. Blood was, at this point, streaming down her body, leaving small, sticky puddles wherever she stood. Dealing with that would have to take priority; as scary as the woman was, she was a good fighter, and would probably be necessary in taking the huge pirate down. Losing her to blood loss would be bad. Beginning to move towards her, Timore was stopped in his tracks by the thunderous roar of the pirate. Quickly redirecting his attention towards him, he saw the brute tear up the boards of the deck and throw them towards the intimidating woman before aiming an arte at him again. Timore was more prepared this time, and could probably have blocked the fast-approaching fist, but the other man who had been helping them took the hit again. He couldn't fathom why the man would do such a thing, but he had no time to dwell on it. With the man's action, Timore had gained a little extra time, and he was going to make the most of it.

Scampering over to the scary lady, who was close to the huge pirate and already launching another attack, Timore did his best to stay close enough to heal the wound in her side. He had to get a little creative to avoid her sword and keep up with her, but he more or less got the wound to close up. Once he had finished this, he gripped his quarterstaff tightly in his hands and prepared to attack the pirate again. After all, he was close enough to the villain as it was; he may as well make use of the opportunity. Finding an opening after the other two attacked, he quickly swung his weapon around in an overhead arc, hoping to hit the massive pirate on his head or chest. Timore doubted that he'd be able to knock him down, as the brute was much larger, but hopefully he could do some damage.

Airship Defiant, near the MKS Hood

Base Stats: HP 4 / SE 18 / CCA: 3 / ATK 4 / DEF 3 / AOE 1 /

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They had leff port and Donar had made them rise the ship about 19 meters above the ocean, this was faster that way.

"Half sails! Gain speed lightly through the impellers!" It would take long before they reach the battle, So donar had to make sure they were ready, "What of armaments Master gunner!?"

The master gunner saluted, "Lieutenant, We got six cannons either side Prepped and Ready!"

"Good, be ready for ship to ship combat, it might get bumpy again." He turned to the bow of the ship. This will be fun to say the least, finally ready for fighting.

The lookout from above could see the fight from their position."Aye! Pirates off Port bow! they cover the MKS and Internvess!"

Donar grinned slightly before turning to the Commander before turning back. "All men, ready Portside cannons!" "All ready portside cannons!" the order was repeated as the three cannons were drawn out.

"Prepare to free the Wings from it's Cage! Arise vertically 30 degrees for five meters then return to vertical position!" the ship slowly but quickly rose as they were commanded.

The ship was going slightly faster than normal it made it's way that it was nigh too late for the Pirates to notice it's appearance, "helmsmen! Get ready to to Turn hard to Starboard, but at try rasing it at an upward angle when doing so!! Don't hit the Wings!"

Donar waited for what seemed like time slowed down for him. Though it was seconds, it seemed like hours. With the Pirates Airship in full view, Donar smiled.you owe me now.."  though though of the pilot of the wings. @Helral

"Stall Impellers! Hard to Starboard! Brace yourselves!" The Ship seemed to lurch hard, it angled up slightly as it seemed to turn really hard pointing it's guns at the Pirates airship. "Fire Full Broadside!"

Donar didn't even finish as the cannons fired upon the poor airship.

He really felt bad for the ship when all the cannons had pinpoint accuracy on it, the first shot went through it but shots two and three sent it to it's grave, the small Pirate Airship that had given Turian a hard time exploded in the air, by the time the Pirates below saw the Defiant's maneuver it had already fired and their little airship was blown out of the sky. As the massive Destroyer ship made it's devastating pass, The straightened out and Donar issued orders again.

"Increase Implellars 1 and 2! Reload Port cannons! Take the ship towards the stern of the MKS and lower the ship to a healthy 10 meters above it! Prepare to Broadside again for that big Pirate ship,! Landing Party! take control of the MKS!" As they did so while keeping a distance from the other Pirate ship, Donar could only imagine what the pirate went for.

he turned to the Commander, "Permission to Board the MKS!"

To hell with these pirates. To hell with this cannon. And to hell with this damn powder. Eiss was thoroughly covered in it. His pristine armor was now tarnished and in dire need of a good waxing. Every little movement he did now released a tiny cloud of sooty dust. Of course it was mostly his own doing that lead to this terrible state. He had messily added more powder than needed. After all, more powder meant more firepower. More firepower meant a bigger boom. A bigger boom meant dead pirates. It was only logical. But look where logic got him. Stuck doing a mission where, if he did succeed, most of his reward money would be spent on getting himself clean again. He adjusted the cannon, ready to aim and blast these pirates to smithereens.

"What's this? They're retreating?"

His own words came as a surprise to him. The first pirate airship had forsaken the air, and were already withdrawing as a second airship took their place. Cowards. Eiss had no mercy for them. If you started a fight, you saw it through til the end. The threat of the second approaching airship was temporarily forgotten by him, and he continued to aim at the original airship, eager to end their miserable lives.

Shift a little to the left. Raise it an inch. Actually raise it two inches. Eiss was confident he had the perfect aim now. The two cowardly pirates who barely escaped with their heads were finished, or at least would have been. An explosion sounded from above, and the entire ship jerked about. Eiss lost his balance, stumbling this way and that. He resorted to gripping the cannon, using it to maintain his balance. They've been hit. For a moment he thought the Inverness would drop out of the sky, but looking out the porthole, it seemed they held their position, for now anyway.

He waited until the airship's swaying had ceased, and took to aiming at the fresh arrival. Interrupting him was a grave mistake that they'd pay dearly for. Just as with the first enemy airship, Eiss aimed at the enemy cannons. Neutralize them first, then finish them off. The extra powder boosted cannon fired loud and proud, the recoil pushing the cannon back into Eiss. who grunted in surprise. The enemy airship seemed prepared for the Inverness's  attack, performing an evasive maneuver that narrowly put them out of harms way. The cannonball he fired was only a hair's breadth away from hitting the enemy airship's hull.

Aboard the MKS Hood, Upper Deck

Fuesen 1st, 997 C.Y.A.D. / 12pm

Objectively Terrified

Debris rained down upon the Galleon's ever more destroyed deck as the airships above peppered each other with heavy weaponry. This cacophony wasn't what forced Cecil to rethink his next actions. No. It was the lapping waves belonging to the coming flood. An amalgamation of faint, lusting cries were approaching from yet a new vessel, this one seaborne. This force would not be a trickle, but a tidal wave of killers which would wash away this meager counter-force by sheer weight. The punctures resounding off the Hood’s sides confirmed it as a new boarding party. No doubt hostile, unless those coming were very enthusiastic of slaying pirates.

This vessel would be taken shortly. The question of if became when, and when became how. How. How did he hope to live through this tale which was likely to have a tragic end? He had a better chance cowering with the rest of the less-able bodied spectators. It was too late for that. He could wipe the blood off his dagger, pretend to be just a woeful blind traveler (They’d surely be entertained discovering someone like that). But if this brute didn’t have his head, the other surviving boarders would surely recall Cecil’s attempts at defense. And all of that wouldn’t matter if the new boarders killed everyone anyway.

An enormous explosion singed the once cool, relaxing sea-breeze. Which ship had been decimated? The mysterious metal-clad’s crew or the pirate’s? And were his ears betraying him, or was that yet another ship which those recent cannon’s blasts belonged to? He'd soon find his answer, as he could make out wails in its direction approaching as well. Pirates or allies. Fifty-fifty, Cecil guessed. Death or no-death.

“Damn it.” Cecil bit his lip as he side stepped a splintered log which embedded itself into the planks. He’d have to worry about dying once it came to him. With one hand clinging to his wet hip, once more did he let his dagger fly towards the brute’s exposed back. It flew true, despite the chaos disrupting Cecil from gathering a clear depiction of what the hell was going on.

As Turian approached the ledge again he saw the first pirate airship retreating. They had taken enough damage, sadly though there was a second one on it's way. Before Turian reached the steering wheel that pirate ship took its shot and it tore through the forward mast, badly damaging the sail as well. Turian started shouting about how this ship was just new and all that. This slowed his movement down a bit more. Arriving at the steering wheel he could see the Defiant coming to their aid, three small wisps of smoke were visible from their bow. Shortly after a devastating blast was audible through the air. All that Turian saw of this when looking back was that the second airship was no more. Turian got the airship to be moving again, using the time that was given him he positioned it towards the back of the Defiant. The Defiant should be better equipped for handling this kind of situation.
