Fantasy The Poison Of The Seven Seas

Noémi saw the surgeon and jumped slightly. She didn't expect anyone to come out of the room or for anyone to be in there in the first place. When the woman asked her a question she looked around and realized she was talking to Noémi. "What? No. Neither!" She said a bit frantically. She knew that she wasn't going to kill him and she didn't need help what so ever. (Unless she had 'magic' to fix the desiese she's had since she was born, which was definitly not the case in hand.) "Just escorting." She stated, feeling a bit nervous. She isn't used to being talked to. It seemed odd but she started conversations more often than not. Noémi also rarely gets asked if she needed help so it had surprised her when Biyu directed the question to her.

When Zubari revealed his wounds she cringed and turned around, her back now facing the two. "I'm going to say that this is my cue to leave..." She said quickly, glancing over her shoulder and saying, "Yell for me if you need anything!" She said before she hastily went towards and up the stairs.

Noémi had a pit in her stomach, feeling quite terrible for abandoning her new founded friend. When she was at the topof the stairs, thestopped and pondered about going back but shook her head. She had a weak spot for wounds and it wasn't a good one. She suddenly saw a small commotion and noticed the Captain being tied to the mast. Noémi hurried over, looking quite baffled. "What are yo-" She stopped mid sentence and where she stood. That wasn't Louise. She furrowed her eyes and stepped closer a bit nervously. 'Possibly a doppleganger?' She thought, looking at the girl in interest and confusion.

Noémi dismissed the girl- although confusion remained in her mind. 'Work.' She thought. Yes, work. Noémi had a slight obsession with working, which is probably why she looked like she hasn't slept in a few days, or bathed for that matter. Noémi looked around and bit her lip. 'What to do.. What to do..' She thought, mentaly shrugging and doing what she first thought of- re-clean the deck. Noémi opened her pouch and grabbed what she needed before starting to clean the wooden panel in front of her.

Louise

"
Musician Rule Number 2: Look out for the cook, unless you want his job."

Louise gave a small, closed-mouth chuckle at the girl's words. The woman unfolded her arms, placing both hands on her on her lower back. The woman stretched, and after a few satisfying pops, she let her arms fall. The captain plunked herself down in the seat Mallory had so kindly dusted off for her, grumbling a small,
"Thank you."

Hey, she might've been a pirate, but she had manners.

"Busy day. What can I do you for, Louise? As our biggest problem is currently strapped to the pole and probably being violated by Mio...What better time to relax and enjoy a taste of France?"

Louise grunted in response as Mallory poured the eggy concoction onto her plate. It looked like it was originally going to be an omelet, but turned into something else entirely. Louise didn't really care, it smelled just fine to her. The woman let out a long sigh, and then said,
"She's not really related to me, you know. I mean, come on. You don't believe it, do you?"

The captain raised both of her hands up to the table, resting her wrists on the edge for a moment before asking,
"Silverwear?"

Metaphysics said:
"Don't touch me!" She exclaimed and her body instinctively flinched away from the strange man. Years of abuse had taken their toll on her, scar both physical and mental was what she received from the De'Leone family. Her hair bristled in fearful anger as she saw her spear get moved around. She growled with the ferocity of an angered lion and squirmed within her bindings, trying to get at the man who touched her.
She calmed down when the man left and her spear was left alone. She gave a soulful angry glare when the man glared back at her. She was the White Lion dammit. She shouldn't be putting up with this. But she had to, she wanted to know more about her half-sister. She wanted a place to be accepted in, not that she'd ever even say that out loud of course...
Iris sensed that Riley was worried by Mio and affectionately headbutted her, hoping to calm the girl down. She really disliked Mio, and considered his grumbling about how she was 'from hell' was taken as quite a fine compliment. His behavior at times toed the line of 'worthy of getting his dick bitten off' (never underestimate parrot beaks), and Iris sometimes wondered why she shouldn't just attack him and do just that as a preventative measure. However, Hope would probably be unhappy with Iris if she did that, so she didn't.

Noémi finally finished cleaning the area that was in proximity and realized that they'd be leaving soon, and that she hasn't seen the land yet. The girl bit her lip and stood, walking over to the ramp, (More like limping) and scaling down it. She reached the bottom and pushed through the crowd, doing what she usually does everytime they stop at a town. Noémi went around to find the messanger boy to ask him a few questions. When she found the fella, she hurried over and looked at him with hopeful eyes and said her name fluently. "Noémi S. Gwenaëlle." He looked through his pouch that hung loosely off of his small shoulders and pulled out a letter. It wasn't the prettiest in the world, not even close, but it was a letter for her.

She instantly felt butterflies in her stomach as she felt the rough paper in between her fingers.
'This is the first letter you've gotten in a year or so...' She thought, hoping that it was them saying how muc they loved her and missed her.

Noémi was about to open the letter until she got to nervous to. She bit her lip and held onto the note tightly, hastily going back to the dock. The brunette was to excited to open it and continued to ponder what it may contain. She finally reached the end of the dock and stood at the edge.
'This is it.' She thought, worry, excitement, and nervousness coating her face. 'This is what you've been waiting for...' Noémi closed her eyes and took a deep breathe, the crinkling of the paper made her more anxious as it layed open in her hands. She opened it up and read the first sentence.

You are a terrible daughter.

Her smile was still plastered on her face as she continued to read on, her brain and stomach feeling numb as she did so.

You messed it up for me and for all of us. Germain and Adora are both sick and we can't afford a doctor, do you want to know who caused that? YOU. Noémi S. Gwenaëlle did.

She didn't read the rest, just stood there and stared at the letter. It was obviously written by her mother. 'I'm not doing a good enough job..' She thought, trying to move but her body disobeying her. Noémi wanted desperately to read more of the letter but she couldn't. She stood frozen, at the end of the dock with a stupid smile plastered on her face and pained eyes, holding a crumbled up peice of paper between two callused and shaking hand.

(And I'm a terrible person, yay...)

Murphy was out cold, his rum slowly dumping onto the ships wooden body. Once the bottle completely ran out Murphy flung up grumbling angrily checking his pockets "I had like 8 rum bottles this morning." he says, it had only been like 2 hours since he had been up and he had doused his stomach in rum. Murphy got up getting his balance and walking across the deck to go find the stache of rum in Johnny's clutches, heh get it, because his name is clutch....Murphy was drunk ok. Murphy flung open the door to have a violent chicken named monkey attack him "Screw off hell spawn, bloddy 'ell I'm yer best customer. Swear on the seven seas, one day I'm gonna eat you." Murphy grumbled to the chicken trying to kick it away to notice that Johnny was out because of rum, of course he was, every guy on the ship was like that.

Murphy headed to the kitchen and flung open the door to see the musician and the captain "
Why don't I ever get invited to the ships fun time. I heard im a real savage" Murphy says looking at them and throwing his empty rum bottle on the ground, it was too bulky to break so it just rolled away and Murphy walked over to the place they kept whine and rum and was surveying his options "Rum, rum, rum or rum....what do you guys think" Murphy asks still drunk off his butt, and hungover, which was just gonna make it worse. Murphy grabbed a bottle and chugged it down grabbing a couple more and hiding them on himself "Good thing we stocked up, Can't live without my girlfriends" Murphy says looking over at the two "I really enjoyed that show out there, I must admit, she does look like you, maybe just better everything" Murphy says picking on the captain, leaning forward and almost falling over then laughing, it was a good thing he was a lovable drunk and not an abusive one.

"Odd....you are the only person who can say my name...." Biyu stared at him for a few seconds, slightly in disbelief. Really? Of all people, she was the one who could actually pronounce it right? Ah, how strange. Well, not that she could brag it to anyone. Still, it felt like a small victory, an achievement to be more precise, to her. Frankly, it almost made the corners of her lips twitch in a smile. But they did not. That would only happen, very slightly, for only a second at the young woman standing beside him. Oh, yes, Noémi. That was her name. "What? No. Neither!" Really? How curious. Then why was she there? "Just escorting." Oh, yes, the act of keeping one's company. How thoughtful. Charming, even. She could not help but find how similar she seemed to be to a stray animal. But it was not time to admire such a finder. She nodded her head as she exited the room. Common politeness. Just because she was (or at least supposedly) a pirate, that would not affect her manners.

"Actually I came looking for more herbs.....sorry that I do not know your name..."

"Oh, I see. Feel free to use them if you wish. I And pay it no mind, I myself do not hold a good memory for names. It would be hypocrisy to pick on you for that matter."

After all, she was just there to administer treatments. Whether people would let her help or not it really was not her place to judge nor to force her own skills. It was up to the patient and the captain herself. Her eyes fell on his skin, traveling across it to find the an animal's bite mark. It seemed profound enough, but what animal would it be? A shark? In any case, perhaps it was best not to raise any questions. He would probably not ant to interact with her that much.

A shame really. He seemed like a smart man.

"Do you know what are you looking for?" She asked as her eyes found his face once again. Hurting his pride as not an option.

@Ktyria

Mallory laughed at her own concoction, and her muscles visibly relaxed. "We're Pirates, aren't we?' She spoke flippantly as she rummaged through Cluck's cabinets. "Scourge of the seven seas." She placed a fork onto her Captain's dish, and frowned. Perhaps a spoon would be more appropriate. Thankfully, one had already been laid on the table near a cold cup of dirty coffee. A treat, Mallory assumed, Cluck had made for himself and never quite got to. She moved the utensil next to the fork.

"She's not really related to me, you know. I mean, come on. You don't believe it, do you?"

For the second time that day, Mallory found herself depleted of wit. She sat down across from the Captain. For a moment she instinctively reached for a her standard social lubricant (lukewarm beer) before settling her hands in her lap. "The most important thing, obviously, is that you're the Captain of this vessel. That gives you a position of distinct power over her, no matter who she is. More important than any blood tie is what she wants from you." Mallory pulled the dirty cup of coffee towards her, and bowed her head very slightly.

"You knew my past when I came aboard the Poison."
Mallory shook her head, allowing the lower-class accent she hid from the Captain to come through in order to show how genuine she was. "Features 'ave a certain way of comin' thru. Clearly. My family's proof a that." She paused. "I'd not say anything for certain. When I ferst saw'r yee, I didn expect to see anyone quite like you again." Mallory coughed, because she knew what she was about to say would be painful.

"If she's not yer sister, she does a damned good act of it." Mallory looked into Louise's eyes. "If I had to bet, I'd say you've got a sister." Mallory paused and stood. She took a deep breath, and spoke forcefully. "I'll be the first to risk my position aboard the Poison to tell you that the blood we've spilled- that of our enemies, of eachother, of ourselves is thicker than the waters of the womb."

As soon as Mallory finished, Murphy had stumbled into the room. She couldn't help but put her face in her hands. If there was anybody to discredit a speech about the bond between a Captain and her Crew, it was Murphy. "For Fuck's sake, Murphy." She threw down her hands, her fingertips revealing the slightest evidence of a tear. She contorted her face into something more appropriate for the witty Musician, an emotional place she was finding herself distancing from. "We both know that it's rum tonight. Better you drink the toxic shite the Jamaicans put out than anybody bloody essential. Can't have Cluck doing anything irresponsible."

The surgeon still did not tell him her name, she just let him in and asked if he knew what he was looking for. Which he did not because last time he was in Jamaica he did not get attacked by crocodiles and really he had never been attacked by them, he was not even sure if there bite was dangerous. Last time he had killed such an odd animal he killed them too fast for them to attack, this time he was chasing something else when the log he was running across broke and he fell into a swamp pit full of crocodiles and was obviously attacked. Only reason he ever went down there in the first place. The reason he did not know her name is because he never went down there, if he got injured he used herbs, but in a place like Jamaica there was not many herbs so he had to get some help.

"
I have never been attacked by a crocodile so I am not sure what to use....are they poisonous?" he asks completely serious when he does ask but then again when did he smile or crack a laugh. Normally he was a quiet guy with a frown on all the time. He was not one to go out and meet everyone, he actually did not know the names of a lot of people on the ship "If you do help.....no injecting me with drugs..." Zubari was weird, he refused to take any kind of modern (At the time) drugs. It made no sense why he did not but it was probably a mental thing. That or he just did not want to get addicted or something to them. Zubari walked in and began looking around for something that may help.

'Atleast she was nicer than usual...' The girl quickly thought, regaining control of her body as she wobbled back onto the ship, stowing the letter in the pouch that hung by her side. Noémi continuedto have a smile on her face but her skin seemed more pale than usual and her eyes didn't glimmer like they used to. 'Don't be selfish. Just get back to work and do a better job.' She thought, looking around and the a sudden thought came to her head. 'I could help Johnny in the kitchen... If he's there.' She thought to herself. Noémi hurried off to the kitchen only to see Louise, Mallory, and Murphy. "O-oh, d-d-did I... S-should I l-le-leave?" She asks, tripping over her words as she looked at the two, slightly manuvering around the two in attempt to get to the kitchen. "O-o-o-or d-do you ne-need t-t..." A sudden gush of wooziness took over her as she stumbled but grabbed onto a table. She shook her head adn rubbed her eyes. "N-need anything?" She finally said. Noémi didn't understand what was wrong with her. Yes, she hasn't slept in a few days nor has she eaten quite a lot but she was used to that. Her legs did feel more weak than usual. 'Probably just from the shock of the letter.' She agreed on, waiting for the answer, but feeling a bit bad for barging in on their conversation.

Once done with polishing the navigator's weapons as nicely as he could do so, Nesim walked up to him and handed the belt over to the man, who was still admiring their captive, wondering what else he could do to molest her. Quite content with their little banter of countering bold proposals, and with a little quirk of his lips, the ottoman murmured to Mio before leaving the scene:

"
If you require my assistance for anything else, sir, just find me and I'll...Come for you."

And then he left, struting over to search around for anything useful he could do. When finding nothing to do, he began to whistle while he stole an orange from one of the barrels and proceeded to peel it. His palate prefered saltier and bitter things, but a fruit was sufficient for now to satisfy his hunger and thirst.
Nesim was fortunate enough that the Captain wasn't around for now, seeing as the woman loved oranges and bought as many barrels and boxes with them to last for everyone on the ship, including most importantly, herself. Rather irrelevant, Nesim retorted, since most pirates were not that found of fruit and vegetables, more of meat and alcohol perhaps. Oh, but everyone made their own effort, because eating as many oranges was much preferable over to infected gums, a disease as awful as anyone could get on the high seas(scurvy).

Mentioned @Metaphysics , and @Queen Rai (also I can't find anyone available for interacting with right now, since everyone's busy with someone else)

Riley looked at Iris when the bird headbutted her. "I'm alright Iris, I just have some bad...experiences with my family before I got kicked out by them." She said as she leaned her head back onto the mast. "I don't like being around men Iris, every time one tries to touch me I flinch." She added before looking around. "This is going to get uncomfortable really fast, anything she says gets done I guess."

John Nar

John picked up a small water skin from where he slept and carried it over to the mast. He stopped and frowned at the girl. "You thirsty? I got some water that I can share. I'm probably the only one of this ship that isn't buried in rum." He held up the small back of water and opened the top. He had some very interesting questions to ask along with the water. "I got a few questions though. Do you always sneak onto ships ad claim to be related to the captain when you get bored? It's just a simple question that you don't have to answer personally I'm just curious I could care less. Only person on this ship I even slightly care about is the captain so I'd be fine with any response." John stated with a cold monotone before looking towards the door that would lead to the captain's room. He turned his attention back without really listening for a response.

@Metaphysics

Natalia Corsa

It had taken some wandering around but the one she was looking for was found and the sight made her cheeks flush. "Evelyn I will find out what you poisoned me with to make this happen every time i see you!" Natalia said trying to sound bitter but it wouldn't work and just came out as annoyed at the most. She got annoyed every time she saw him because she couldn't figure out what was happening to her. If she didn't figure it out soon she'd have to ask the boy and that seemed idiotic in itself. "What the hell would a man know about how I feel?! stupid stupid stupid." She wass unfortunately making virtually no effort to be quiet.

@Girouette

Samuel didn't rise from his slumber, he never did if he was having a good rest, no nightmares at all. In all honesty, he couldnt hear anything around him, he was the most vulnerable person in the world right now and he didn't even know it. All he was dreaming of was his family, before they all were murdered, of course. He would probably stay like this for a couple hours, unless someone forces him up with the right strength, or move him.

(@dragonslayr)

"No, just the ones that I know belongs to someone I know I'm actually related to." Riley said. "Is it really that hard to believe?" She asked the man as she leaned back, careful to not harm Iris. "Probably is huh, I sneaked in in a barrel after all. By the way you guys got a blind spot yonder back." She added before looking at the man. "So what's Louise like? You're her people, you probably know more about her and get trusted by her more than I will ever be." She said. "I'm not sure if she'll even accept or acknowledge me..."

Simon ascended the winded rigging with a strange sort of stiffened grace, like a famed statue come to life. If that pesky pigeon won't budge, I'll have to go and fetch it. It was fortunate that, right now, his pet wasn't laden with a letter, for nobody could get their hands on his messages. No-one. His private affairs were to remain private, for the sake of the entire ship.

When he was high enough, hanging with a single sturdy arm and firm leg over the port shore, a small crowd now gathering to watch, he launched himself over the gap, landing in a feline stance beside the bird. The shack shuddered upon impact, and Pieter nearly took flight again, but, staying remarkably still, Simon extended his hand as he was taught, and coaxed his pet home. He stroked its feathered head with a single finger; the signal for it to return to the ship. Then, raising his hand to the oceans of cloud above, he let it fly to the Poison's mast, where it would wait until he needed it. Pieter, his feathered tool, instrument of success and importance, Pieter the globe-trotting pigeon. How far they both were from home.

The Dutchman held his hand to the skies, and closed his eyes. He imagined he was clasping the clouds, dissipating their fluffy masses and smudging them into thin strands. Twisting the sky's canvas. Yes. I can only dream, Simon sighed, his eyes flickering open. Now to find a way down from here.

The easiest was was simply to jump, so that was what he did. Brushing himself down, Simon dabbed himself with his handkerchief once more. He wasn't built for this weather, and damned if he'd let that fiery titan taint his skin a scarring red. Resting his hands in his trouser pockets, Simon continued along the pier, gazing at the ship. He frowned. Is that the Captain, tied to the mast? Sub-conciously, his pace quickened. Damned if I've missed a mutiny for the sake of my bird.

It took until Simon was right next to Riley for him to realise it wasn't Louise. That girl from earlier. Unfriendly company, seemingly. Simon never normally meddled in such dasterdly affairs. Tying stowaways to masts? Throwing people off of the ship? He daren't involve himself in such barbarity! Yet he lingered for a brief moment, perplexed, encaged in rare curiousity. The similarities were remarkable, truly.

I'd hate to make a lady in Louise's likeness into a public spectacle, Simon stood back, noting the small crowd that regarded her. There was Mio, John, and a figure disappearing downstairs, probably Nes'him/her (Simon never knew quite what to make of Nesim and hence avoided them to avoid the inconvenience). Even the parrot had joined in, a friend of his pigeon. Mio was the crewmate he had the (dis)pleasure of working alongside much of the time, as for his map-sketching, Simon must reside by the wacky sailsmaster, so he thought it best to ask his question to his closest colleague. I shouldn't go into this conversation expecting a straight answer, unless I want my hopes royally dashed.

"Sorry to be an inconveniance," Simon approached the Spaniard, knowing full well that it was unlikely he was inconveniancing anything, "but why is there a slightly-smaller duplicate of the Captain chained to the mast?"

Mood: Sleeping, having peaceful dreams.

Location: On a barrel.

Company:Uh...@Holo, I guess? And I think @dragonslyr tried to wake him up.

Evelyn was, very clearly, still sleeping.

He wouldn't have known that somebody else had leaned against the barrel he was slumped upon, nor would he know of the furious person who leered over him, seeking to stir him unpleasantly from his rest, deep-sleeper was an understatement.

That said, he certainly deserved to be yelled at, he was obviously sleeping on a job, a job that he hadn't done anything worthy of being tired enough fall asleep, it was true that he deserved nothing less than to be reprimanded for his incompetence at being a cabin boy, but it seemed that that his wake-up would be decided by the forces of karma, and not another crew-member.

"Nygm....Yaaaw..."

After another small bout of sleeping noises in response to being told to wake up, His body shifted a bit, and due to this, it could be said that the attempt was successful, as he was already barely 'slumped', the result was him falling off of the barrel, and hitting the ground well wearing a suit of (Albeit light) Metal armor, which even for a deep sleeper is quite painful, and certainly did wake him up.

"Awuuuck...Oww...What was...""

Louise

"The most important thing, obviously, is that you're the Captain of this vessel. That gives you a position of distinct power over her, no matter who she is. More important than any blood tie is what she wants from you."

Louise gave a small nod as she shoveled a bite of the egg dish into her mouth. She didn't chew, but rather broke it up between her tongue and the roof of her mouth before swallowing. It burned a bit going down, the captain hadn't really waited for the food to cool...but she didn't wince. She just pounded a fist on her chest (as if that would help the burning in any way).

"You knew my past when I came aboard the Poison."

Louise glanced up at Mallory, and then gave a slow nod. The girl's tone of voice changed considerably, and Louise knew what that meant. The woman quickly took another big bite of her eggs, making sure to fill her cheeks in hopes to avoid replying to Mallory.

"
Features 'ave a certain way of comin' thru. Clearly. My family's proof a that. I'd not say anything for certain. When I ferst saw'r yee, I didn expect to see anyone quite like you again."

Louise raised an eyebrow.

"If she's not yer sister, she does a damned good act of it. If I had to bet, I'd say you've got a sister."

Louise practically choked on her eggs. She tried to force them down to make some sort of retort to Mallory's comment, but to no avail. The captain ended up practically dying in her chair as she sputtered out bits of half chewed egg.

"
I'll be the first to risk my position aboard the Poison to tell you that the blood we've spilled- that of our enemies, of eachother, of ourselves is thicker than the waters of the womb."

"Why don't I ever get invited to the ships fun time. I heard im a real savage."

Louise was still choking.

"Rum, rum, rum or rum....what do you guys think? Good thing we stocked up, Can't live without my girlfriends"

Now choking and dying.

"I really enjoyed that show out there, I must admit, she does look like you, maybe just better everything..."

Louise was pretty much just dying now. Finally, she was able to force down all of the egg, and even a second after she did, she shrieked, "SHE IS NOT MY SISTER! And even if she WAS she's CERTAINLY not better at everything! You swines! You scallywags!"

The woman violently rose from her chair, nearly knocking it back as she stormed over to the door. She practically kicked it down, as she roared,
"YOU ASSHOLES!"

"...Well...she seems ruffled." Riley commented on her mast. "Hey, this mast isn't actually bad...it's kinda comfortable actually." She commented about the mast. She looked at her sister for a few moments before shrugging and shutting her eyes. 'Wonder whats got her all riled up?' She thought to herself as she relaxed into the bindings. She's been in worse, being tied to a mast of a ship isn't that bad.

She opened her eyes and looked at Iris. "Think you know what has ruffled her feathers like that Iris?" She asked the bird.(G'night, sleepy.)

Murphy watched her, as she jumped up and started yelling all while he had a big smile on his face, when she stormed out Murphy broke into a laugh almost dying where he stood "That was great, remind me to get her flustered some more" Murphy says to dazed to notice she was choking before, plus he looked at her just when she cleared the blockage. Murphy grabbed two more things of rum and stuffed them on his side walking to Mallory and taking a big swig of one "Been drinking for a long time and I can tell you it is not toxic at all" Murphy says so drunk he now was in a happy mood as he left the kitchen heading to the main deck to see where the captain was going to barge off to.

He had thought about what she may do so he went to the main deck to make sure she was not going to kill the girl who looked exactly like her. Murphy opened the door and took a deep breath, breathing in the Rancid air "
I love Jamaica" he says looking around to make sure she was not making an assassination attempt on the girls life. See no the captain knew how much of a handful Murphy would be but she still took his drunk ass in, it was her fault, but he was a good guy. He just really enjoyed picking at people.

Hope finished her plotting (both of the ship's course and the small spy network she was thinking of setting up). She rolled up the map and went to find Louise to get confirmation of the course. She ran into Louise near the galley, just as Louise was yelling about how Riley was not her sister, most certainly not better, and how someone inside was a swine, a scallywag, and an asshole for saying that.

Once Louise had become a modicum quieter, Hope asked the million-dollar question:

"Captain, why don't you want to have a sister?"

Iris considered that question. Really, she had no idea. So Riley looked similar. What's the big deal? Iris supposed that it might have been because Riley was, by what standards of beauty Iris had managed to pick up, prettier than Louise. This really confirmed what Iris thought about the captain: She was insecure and covered it by yelling too much, like a male puffing up his chest to attract a female's attention. Tying a perfectly nice girl to the mast because she would have an easier time attracting a mate was the sign of one who thought that she would never have children on her own merits. It was probably mostly that creepy stare of hers, although her body shape was also not optimal for mating.

(@Queen Rai, you've lost the respect of the parrot.)

Noémi noticed that she wasn't acknowledged and took that chance to straighten herself out. She started towards the kitchen lazily again until she heard the captain shriek and quickly turned around, furrowing her eyebrows. "Captain?" She muttered, following behind her. The girl quickly cut infront of her and looked up at her with concerning eyes. "C-captain," She adressed Louise and courtsied before continueing on. "W-would you li-like to talk ab-about what happened?" She ask worried. Usually talking to someone helped but then again, she was only a Cabin Boy and she was the Captain. Noémi asked her anyways. If there was anyway she could help her, she would. "O-or anything I co-could do t-to help?" She asks, biting the inside of her cheek. She was worried she may have said something wrong and upset her even farther.

"If you have any ability to escape now would be the time. My guess is that her target for that anger is you." He took a deep breathe and put the water away before starting to walk towards the captain. As good a day to die as any I suppose. Goodbye cruel world. John thought to himself as he gently grabbed the captain in a hug. "Captain be sensible please. I got ya a present downstairs that I was saving but I think now would be the time. I can have it in your room in a few minutes." John hadn't said the most important part but it had to be said if he was going to die which he would for hugging her. He took a deep breathe and steeled his own nerves before finally saying what he had intended to quietly. "I love you Louise and nothing will ever change that." He had whispered it but he still felt like she would probably stab him to death right there. He waited for the sharp pain that he expected but if anything else happened it would probably scare him to death.

Mallory exhaled and twiddled her thumbs on the table. Going in, she knew what Louise's reaction would be. Mallory only hoped that she had planted a seed in Louise's mind that could help her cope. She stared directly at the table as Louise began her rampage, and made no effort to protest.

Mallory followed Murphy out, simply sidestepping Noémi on the way out. She snatched the bottle from Murphy's hand and took a long swig from it. She almost enjoyed the burn of the alcohol, as it gave her something to focus on aside from her growing annoyance with Louise. She put the bottle against Murphy's chest, and stood on her toes in order to whisper into his ear. "Ere's the thing about the Captain." Mallory hiccuped. It only took small amount of alcohol to send her tottering. "I 'ope that's not 'er sister, cos I've a feelin' the're about fall inter love." Mallory took the bottle, and sipped it. "Sent by th'almighty to feed her own ego. Snake thar' bites it tail and all that." Mallory stepped away, before whispering a bit louder. "That's why she's got nicer tits."

Mallory walked away from Murphy, in order to walk the ship and get her head straight. Surrounding the mast, Mallory spotted her dear friend Mio and her most esteemed colleague Simon. She found herself tottering a bit more than she intended, and so when she arrived she found herself holding onto Mio's arm. In an attempt to look casual, she looked up at him with her face slightly closer to his than intended. "Allo." She gestured with her open hand. "I don't know if you've met this one." Another hiccup. "She's made quite the stir these past few hours. Looks like the Captain." She inspected Riley again, and her heart pulsed slightly. She wasn't drunk enough to try anything, nor would she ever feel inclined to. Like so many other things, Mallory didn't consider romance worth losing her head over. "Maybe a bit of an upgrade."

Mio Del Abascal Marco Vega

He shook his head as the girl started talking with the parrot on her shoulder. Some get claimed faster by the sun than others. He thought, but before he had the opportunity to keep thinking another mate came along and acted way too nicely to the girl. Instead of just correcting the mate's behavior, Mio shrugged and turned, ready to leave. He didn't have anything else to do with the convict for now, and the only amusing thing he could come to think of where he was now was to break the parrot's neck, but that would just serve to piss people off. Besides, the town was stinking up the ship. He'd rather just get below deck, what with his sensitive nose and all. Nesim had returned to him, and handed him the sword again. He/she/it had been very fast with polishing the sword, or so it seemed. "Eager, huh?" He joked with a suggestive smirk as he accepted the blade.

"If you require my assistance for anything else, sir, just find me and I'll...Come for you."

Mio lowered his head and let the strands of hair fall over his face in a sort of tiny bow. His large hat sent a shadow over his face, and the only clear thing that reflected the light underneath it was his red eyes as he looked back up at her and responded "I'll make sure to find you multiple times then." He raised his head again and let it bask in the sunlight as Nesim disappeared down the stairs. "Well, then..." He whispered to himself.

"Sorry to be an inconvenience, but why is there a slightly-smaller duplicate of the Captain chained to the mast?"

"Eh?" Before him stood the ship's artist. A position that Mio generally thought of as unnecessary, but he couldn't help liking the man. Partially because he indeed made excellent maps, and partially because he (despite popular belief) felt a little bad about smashing his door off it's hinges that one time. The liking wasn't pure, however. He could respect the man, but he couldn't show it for whatever reason. Something about him irked Mio. Perhaps it was his way of walking, his way of talking like he was oh-so-holier-than-thou, or maybe it was because of his way of looking at Louise. The last one hadn't actually occurred to Mio yet, but it was most likely the reason. After all, Louise was his captain. He's one of those who'd known her the longest, the one who saved her after the mutiny, the one who'd devoted his life to becoming the best soldier in his army, even if that included shirking his wish to become the strongest swordsman in the world and ditching it for a more gruesome way of fighting.

No matter the reason, Mio couldn't keep himself from being somewhat rude. "Fuck do I know." Without looking at Simon, Mio lifted the large two handed sword up before him and unsheathed a few inches of it to inspect the blade. "Not horrible..." He mumbled under his breath, then sent a short somewhat resentful glance at Simon. "Ask someone who knows." He said, the shoved the sword back into the scabbard and hung it on his hip. He was ready to make an exit that only further pointed to his fake annoyance with the artist, but his arm was caught on something.

When he looked down he saw a feminine little figure holding on to his arm, and as an unusual change of pace his face twisted into a slightly bothered look. He couldn't exactly throw the girl off of himself. No, that wouldn't be a very Mio thing to do. All he wanted to was to leave these guys. He didn't mind Mallory, but he couldn't say the same about the others. The convict got on his nerves, for whatever reason. Probably mainly because she seemed to get along so well with the parrot. Simon was still there, and he didn't feel too hyped about faking hatred for him for much longer. Besides, it seemed like another crowd of people were incoming.

Thinking quickly, and sort of impulsively, he threw the arm Mallory was holding around her, took a long step away from the group, then bent Mallory over his knee into a highly involuntary kiss on her part to get away from the group. He leaned back up from the kiss away from the group as well, so he'd gotten a few feet in-between them, then he leaned in and whispered "I want to go get wasted, and unless you want me to steal the liquor from your mouth again I suggest you follow me and play some cheery music while I visit bars and combat drunkards for free booze. Whaddaya say?" in Mallory's ear. "One last quick party before we set sail and are stuck with only each other on the ship for half a month or so."

"Captain, why don't you want to have a sister?"

Louise said nothing as she pushed her way past the lookout, her hands closing into fists as she started up the stairs that lead back up to the deck. The woman's face was burning red now, and anyone with a brain would probably stay a good ten feet away from her...but poor Noémi seemed to be fairly oblivious to Louise's wish NOT to talk to anyone.

"Captain?"

Louise, ignored the girl at first and just kept walking, but she was forced to an abrupt stop as Noémi cut in front of her. Louise curled her toes in her boots as the girl spoke, though Louise was hardly listening.

"C-captain, w-would you li-like to talk ab-about what happened? O-or anything I co-could do t-to help?"

"No, Noémi." the woman said, her voice slightly shaky as she made eye-contact with the cabin girl. Louise inhaled deeply through her nose as she uncurled her fists and placed her hands on the girls shoulders. The captain bent down slightly the the girl's level, and then said, "All I need for you to do...is tell me that...that PROBLEM tied to the mast looks nothing like me. That you don't believe we're actually related. Just tell me that, Noémi. Please. At least one person on this ship must have some sort of common sense--"

"Captain be sensible please. I got ya a present downstairs that I was saving but I think now would be the time. I can have it in your room in a few minutes."

"No. No more surprises." Louise said, her voice and expression exasperrated. Her anger had somewhat bubbled to just a simmer, and the redness in her face had just absorbed into her cheeks. She again inhaled deeply through her nose, removing one hand from Noémi's shoulder to rub a temple. What she heard next nearly made her fall back down the stairs.

"I love you Louise and nothing will ever change that."

"Oh, for God's sake." Louise sighed, rolling her eyes and dropping her other hand from Noémi's shoulder, brushing past the two...though she wished she hadn't. The woman walked right into a far-too-passionate kiss between Mallory and Mio, and Louise could feel half-digested egg bits rising up in her throat. The woman almost considered cutting them both down where they stood (after all, they were in her way), but instead, she turned back on her heel and stumbled towards her cabin. She walked past the mast, and froze in her tracks. She woman slowly turned, shooting a glare at the girl who called herself Riley.

"Welcome to hell." she growled before continuing on to her cabin, slamming the door behind her. The woman quickly locked herself in, leaning back on the door for a moment before slowly sinking to the floor. She sat there for a moment, and then ripped her hat off of her head and violently threw it across the room. The woman paused again, and then gave a small sigh. She slowly rose from the floor, meandering across the room to where her hat sat, upside-down. The woman crouched down, gently picking the hat back up. She looked down at it for a moment, and then hugged it to her chest.

"I wish you were here." she muttered to her hat. She didn't say his name, but if anyone had been there, they'd know that she was talking about the Poison's previous captain. Louise bowed her head, and then said again in a small whisper, "I wish you were here."
