Suddenly the howls stopped, and the clearing became quiet. Way too quiet for Ayla's liking.
"Why he stopped?"
"I don't know. Maybe it was talking to someone else instead?"
"Yeah, I don't think so the air has become too loaded for it. I think that little bugger might be in trouble."
The black raven circled down and landed upon the wolf. It stretched its wings and settled down.
"So who is the lovely wolf you were howling to. Asking because you know someone shut me out of the mind there for a bit."
"Momo, it's a pup and the problem right about now is that they fell silent. It would be really lovely if you could go fly once more and maybe find him."
"Well, I did try to beat you two in the find a wolf game before I landed, but the only thing I saw was a fox lurking around."
"A FOX! And you didn't care to mention it before?!?"
"Shhhh calm down, Zaya. Thank you, Mo for that. Just let's go get the pup!"
Momo takes flight while he was followed by the red-eared wolf. It doesn't take them long to notice it standing menacingly over a small pup. She let loose a nasty warning snarl.

Staying completely still like a statue, the fox stared the pup down. Timber's knees started to shake as the fox motioned closer and closer. Until the fox spotted another wolf, but larger. The fox didn't want to start anything, so it took off running. The pup hadn't even noticed another wolf had appeared behind him, until he had caught her scent.

Timber howled quietly, and his tongue hung out the side of his mouth. His tail wagging, spreading some dirt when he sat down before her.

"Thank you," he said, with a very young voice. His gold eyes stared at her with wide, curious eyes. "What is your name?" he asked.

The fox fled the second it saw the wolf. She continued dashing, only slowing down when reaching the pup. It took the little guy a bit to notice her presence, but its excitement returned fast. He was polite; it seemed. The wolf shifted back into a girl and seated herself facing the small creature. It was better to remain in human form to one could never know what can come.
"My name is Ayla"
"And I am Zaya!"
"The one to find you was Mo, but he is in the air at the moment. What is your name, little one?"
She intended to find out more about the packs in the area.
"Can you shift back or are truly wolf-born?"
Ayla had never spoken to a wolf-wolf, but she asked just to be sure.
"Oh, and final question, where do you live?"
She pulled out a small candy she had gotten from the last pack she met. It was kinda sad to give it away, but she was sure the child needed it more, especially if he truly was a werewolf. Ayla knew she at least would have liked a candy in that situation.

"I'm Timber. Timber Blake," he was glad he was able to speak to someone else. Timber glanced up in the mention of someone in the air but then glanced back down to her. "I can shift back.. but my parents had placed a curse on me; so I'm stuck like this.." Answering the questions definitely did not bother him as his tone stayed the same, except for when he mentioned his parents. "I do not have a home. I'm all alone out here."

"Oh I am so sorry to hear about that, Timber. Both the curse and the fact that you're alone."
Her smile died down. It was quite sad to be abandoned in such manner and at such age. Her life had been hard without her family but at least she was old enough to take care of herself and of course Mo. She gave the pup a huge hug while fishing out the food from her bag.
"Hey it's ok you got me now. I would have given you this piece of candy, but in wolf form, it would not be wise to eat. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut.... you can have this jerky. I made it myself. It's made of deer, so you should like it a lot."
Mo dashed down from the sky as if he was a rock and landed on the girl's shoulder.
"Gosh Momo! Why you gotta land so heavy."
"Yeah, this is Mo. Mo meet Timber. He is usually very talkative, but when it comes to others, there are a few.....complications regarding hearing him."

Wagging his tail at the sight of jerky, "ooh." His gold orbs saw the bird land on her and his eyes shot open like a pistol going off. "A birdddAh!" He then put most of his body weight of his front limbs and bent forward with his haunches up. His tail in the air playfully, causing a little breeze from wagging it so fast. "Hi, Mo! I'm Timber!" he said with his tongue hanging out his jaws.

"Yeah! Timer, I think you should calm down a bit we don't want another fox on our tail, now won't we?"
She gave a dashing smile to the little boy and rose up. She dusted her clothes clean and continued:
"I heard there's a nice big lake somewhere here where we can maybe go swim of have a good wash. Later we shall set up a nice cosy camp and a fire."
Ayla and Zaya agreed that for the time at least the best course of action is to take care of the pup as god knows what trouble he may bring when left alone. Plus, she already felt a connection to that small wolf. Ayla smiled to herself while looking at the pup.
"Shall we go?"

Timber went silent when she mentioned 'fox' but understood and sat up straight. "A lake?" he sounded confused and his small eyes clouded. "Maybe I spotted one earlier.. when I went soaring.." he was obviously stuck in thought- but did he say 'soaring'? "I have a friend who knows a lot about this forest, but he wandered off somewhere.."

"Oh! You have a friend here? Do they live in a pack or are travellers like you and me?"
That sure was a surprise. Maybe she could find this lost soul a new home and people who love him. Her life is way too unstable to bring along a child. Non the less a one who has been locked into wolf form. On the other hand, maybe that "friend" sees her as a thief stealing his catch. That's not good. Before deciding, they would surely have to meet. For now, they need to be as invisible as possible and their blooming scent is not helping.

She stretched her legs and walked to a pine tree. Ayla looks around it and finds a cut which has oozed some sap. That's good. Now she can hide the scent of both her and the boy. Ayla cuts some off the bark and also picks some fresh needles. This should do for both of them.
"Hey Timber mind if I rub you a little with this before we get going? I'm gonna do it too. See!"
She rubs the green mass in her hand, hard against her clothes. The piney smell intensified tenfold, and the sap was a nice thing to chew to minimize the smell from her mouth.

"He said he's a loner, like a lone wolf, I guess," he then pawed at the ground. "Can I eat that?" his eyes wide when seeing the sap. "Wait.. I has a question-" his little eyes looked at her "-do you have any powers in your wolf form? 'Cause I do."

"Oh well then he is just like you and me going from place to place looking for a new home."
She looked the boy eye the sap. He wanted to eat it which wasn't that good of an idea.
"No Timber. You can not eat it. That's for chewing only and I am not sure if doing even that as a wolf if good idea."
She rubs the boy in sap and needles while continuing to talk to the pup.
"Yeah I do have powers but I can use them as a human too. I can see inside the animals' heads and know what they feel and say. That is how I talk to Mo. His thoughts go through Zaya and too me. We three have had entire conversations just in our minds. What power do you have?"
She was ready with the rubbing so she carefully grabbed the pup and started to walk towards the lake.

"I can fly!" he exclaimed. With a cloud-softness in his gold eyes. Timber was also awfully tempted to lick the sap, but convinced himself not to. And if did sound like the pup was lying or just being funny when he said the word 'fly'. Was he telling the truth?

Ayla giggled and turned him onto his back in her hands and gave him a belly rub.
"Maybe one day you will show me your magical skills and you can go fly with Mo!"

She set down the pup and waited for him to use his powers when a strange smell started to creep in. Ayla didn't think much of it most like just some other animal who wandered near.
"If you can fly higher than my head, I will give you another piece of jerky"

A wide smile crept across his face, as wind began to swarm very quickly around him and as if the trees had opened up and the sun was beaming down on his pelt. Then two large wings, bigger than himself, formed out of his spine. The feathered wings were beautiful on him as he went off the ground. He then flew up and above the trees and swooped barely an inch over her head. He then flew up again and his form was presented before the sun, making him appear as a shadow. Timber then confidently flew back down, flapping his wings a couple times and he stumbled when his paws touched the ground. Since the wings were larger than him.

The bird looked proud and amazed as he didn't have to fly alone anymore. They were the predators of the sky now.
"So little pup tell me what you can see now that you are so high up."

Realising what time it was he shifted an Fenrir came forward, stepping out of the den he pointed his nose to the sky as he let out a bellowing howl, he was headed to the shared territory, his pack was to follow. With that he looked to mask "The Alpha's are having a meeting in the shared territory, please don't stray to far" with that he took off in the direction of the grounds, his pack would follow eventually. Reaching the clearing, Fenrir had two guards by his side they had caught up to him just a few moments before they broke through the tree line.

Steel chuckled, "Perhaps, but that would be bad manners on my part to have you guys searching for me.'' He nodded, "Well, if you need more warm blankets we have plenty of those, and since it, won't get anywhere near as cold where we used to live that means we won't need the blankets." He shifted to his human form glancing around, "Now, I got here as fast as I could, where are the others?" Terrance walked over sitting on a rock, he wondered how this was going to go down. He had never been to a meeting like this before, in their area if a wolf wanted to be Alpha they fought the previous alpha and the matches either ended up with one standing down or death. Or the Alpha chose to step down and chose a new Alpha to take his place, if anyone in the pack wished to challenge the Alpha's choice then a fight would happen. But other than that it wasn't often that they fought to the death, it only ever happened with the stubborn wolves. "I have been wondering why you guys have decided this is the way to choose an Alpha. I suppose I don't understand why other packs would have a say in such personal pack matters...considering the things that have happened...with...a certain pack." He said glancing around once again to make sure no one of the said pack were here yet. He knew the scents approaching belonged to SoulMoon and not BloodMoon, he had been keeping track of the packs in the area and their movements. Mainly for the safety of his own pack...

Her eyes narrowed slightly as Orian stepped away taking a call before coming and telling them that the ambush had changed, "How can we trust your words...you should have stayed put instead of hiding that call..." She frowned at the mention of there being seven wolves coming to ambush them though. She tapped a finger against her side in thought, "Seven isn't a lot but to have to protect a wolf on top of that..." Tessa groaned, glancing to where she knew Mask to be last. Then turning back to Orian, "Okay...you have any idea why they want her dead so bad or am I could to have to ask Mask about it myself. Because I am not liking this entire situation at this point. I don't mind helping an injured wolf, but if that wolf has done something to deserve being hunted by other werewolves...well that makes me unconformable to have them within my pack!" It was strange that so many wolves would be hunting a single wolf, they had to be missing some piece of the puzzle here.

Jasper flinched slightly when he was set down, he also backed up slightly when a female approached him, but relaxed when she said she would help. "Any help is appreciated at this point..." The pain was somewhat numbing now and he wasn't sure if that was a good or bad sign. He couldn't help but chuckle as the two bantered with each other, he wondered if that was what it was like to have brothers and sisters. He glanced at the sweater, "I would rather not ruin your sweater, I don't have any money to buy you a new one. But if you want I could shift to my human form. He is currently unconscious and well I don't see him waking up anytime soon."

She thinks about it:"bloodmoon is behind im sure heading this way, the alphas are chosen by birthright here or if the alpha hasnt had any offspring then the omega becomes the alpha......its easier than bloodshed. Unless someone wants to overthrow the alpha then they fight...."

"See I told you there was one."
Suddenly the girl's nostrils flared and her body tensed up. It smelled like.....wolves. Powerful ones, to say the least. She and little Timber needed to hide or flee or.....or....or. Ayla didn't know exactly what they were supposed to do at this point. If it weren't for the pup she would already be up in the trees and hiding, but this rascal was way too energetic to wait stuff out like that as they could be stuck in one spot for hours if not days. Ayla thanked the gods that some fraction of her mind had thought about masking the sent with pine needles and sap.
"Ok Timber, listen to me you are gonna go up that tree, like way up and stay close to the trunk and branches. I am going to go a bit farther and check if it's ok to continue. Ok? I'll send Mo to come get you if it's safe."
Ayla started to make her way carefully through the bushes, trying to make as little of sound as possible. She almost made it to the lake when she saw a woman and four men standing there.
"Are they Alp........."
"Yup"
"We are so dead"
"Yup"
"Maybe if we go ask the...... yeah that would be just suicide"
"So now what?.... We can't go to the lake and we can't go to the city now either. You try to explain to a human why you have a wolf puppy with you..."
"Wait and see? Maybe they'll leave soon?"

Sarah laughed softly "I can get a new sweater easier than treating dead weight. Shifting too much can cause unwanted stress to your wound. Just bite down on it while I treat you please." She told him, holding it out to him before looking up at her brother. "Hold him like you did dad, after he lashed out the second time. When he almost bit me." She said, motioning where she wanted his hands to be.

Max gave a soft sigh and nodded as he knew behind the prone wolf. He set one hand firmly on his rib cage just under his leg and then hesitated with his other hand. "I'm sorry." He said, cause he knew it was likely going to hurt before putting his hand where head and neck met to keep his head there before his whole body move and he was practically sitting on his hip with his hands still in place. It was awkward and he knew would panic the injured one, who's name he still didn't know. But the position he was in was best suited for his sister to work fast with minimal thrashing.

Sarah for her part was ready, as soon as Max was in place, and if the one she was treating was biting down on her sweater or not, she got to work. Her fingers worked into and around the wound to find a bullet. When she realized there wasn't one, she let out a puff of air "No bullet, lucky, that's the hardest part skipped." She patted Max's hands and he moved but kept a hand on the wolf to keep him down. "Stay down, I'm gonna clean it as best as I can. Maxie, water."

"You're very commanding when your doing this stuff, you know that?" He told her as he got up to do what she said because the other needed all the help given. He had to think quick and used his jacket to bring water to her where she cleaned and dressed the wound with his torn shirt. He then walked away, grumbling about a wet jacket he had to wear and losing another shirt. His eyes landed on the older one and the deer "Did you still need a hand? I work, uh worked, with the butcher in town... Back of the grocery." He said, donning the wet jacket. "I can help before going to get our brother and things."

"I wouldn't move much, if it can be helped. Rest and I'll clean it better by night fall, put a proper dressing on it. Lucas is probably bringing some medical supplies, the Alpha, Lily, said she needed them." Sarah told the one she helped as her brother wondered off. She didn't want to stray far incase she was needed. "I'm sorry, I still don't know who you are?" She left it hanging there, like a question as she shifted to sit beside his head so he didn't need to move it to look at her.

"I am not sure at the slightest why they want her dead so badly.." he took a long pause. But before he could continue he caught Mask's scent neaby.

Mask dipped her head respectfully to Finnegan with a tired look in those blue eyes of hers. She then caught a scent she had only smelt only on rare occasions. Her eyes turned fully red and zoomed in on Orian's form across the clearing. She bared her fangs as her eyes returned to normal. "Orian!!" she screeched, it echoed around the clearing. Making Orian's pelt stand on edge as he saw her bound across the clearing to him, like a bull. Xade and Jake caught sight of her and stopped her in her tracks. "What is he doing here?!" she snarled deeply. Her eyes staring into his soul. Mask didn't pay too much attention to Angel, who was near.

"Calm down!" Xade begged, sympathy in his eyes as he stood in front of Orian. Orian actually looked terrified; his pupils had shrunken to the size of marbles as Mask stared at him, with all the hate in her bones.

Orian's kitten, who was hiding underneath Orian with horror in his eyes. Oliver did not understand what was going on, at all..
