There's a fair chance of dealing with Orcs, Wolves, and Spiders. with other creatures as well.Also, I'm going to assume we'll be dealing with Orcs and Wolves here?
I like the direction. Just a couple of pointers:So here's my current version of my character;
I ended up deviating from my original concept a little. He's a Far Trader with the Slayer calling whose grandparents fled Erebor following Smaug's arrival; after Smaug's death and the Battle of the Five Armies, they pretty much went straight back there. His motivation for helping Dale rebuild is largely the same as my original concept, but with his background and calling, thinking he might have a grudge or two against orcs after one of them killed a beloved relative of his.
Okay. I'll edit once I get time. Thanks for the advice.I like the direction. Just a couple of pointers:
1. It's generally better to have just three weapons, otherwise it gets too cumbersome. And the Great Axe has better stats than the Long-hafted one.
2. You can add in armor, and helm.
Latest version of my character sheet. Based on Red's advice, I took a point out of Long-hafted axe and put it into Battle.
I also went ahead and added in my character's armor, under the assumption I was free to pick any of the options on offer.
I'll have a think on it.Your (Axes) skill pertains to ALL axes, including the Great Axe. It might be better, if you want to be better with just the Great Axe, to invest the XP in-game, because then, you can spend 10 xp to buy the Great Axe skill to rank 3, or raise your (Axes) skill to 3, and be better with every axe.
I have some ideas but I wanted to ask if the campaign is going to be Dale centric? The name implies it will be and I'm thinking of creating a Barding if so.
Here is a first go around on this..let me know if there is anything else I need to add.
Galadriel speaks...
"Calanhir...faithful servant, dear Silvan child..I feel your pain and sense your grief..and we grieve with you...your sister..your twin...has died...and her absence has left a hole deep in your heart that will fester if you so choose to linger here in the Golden Wood of Lothlorien. So we bade you to go...go North the Greenwood of old....to Erebor and Dale....and be my eyes and voice to those peoples..as the shadows continue to grow...and know fair seeker that you will always have a home to return to here in Lothlorien."
Name: Calanhir of Lothlorien
Background: Calanhir and Calanril are twin Silvan elves whose lives took for them to settle in different places...Calanril served King Thranduil in Mirkwood, Calanhir servered Galadriel in Lothlorien. Calanril was killed in the Battle of Five Armies, Calanhir did not take it well, and stayed in Lorien until Galadriel herself gave him her blessing to leave and be her voice and go to the lands his twin lived to settle his heart and grieve.

There's no hard and fast rule, but in general, if you can get some skills core to your concept to at least 2, that's better than many skills at 1. It's easier to raise from 0 to 1, than from 1 to 2.In regards to skill selection and distribution, is there a reasonable number of skills I should pick or have so many rank 3 skills? Should I focus Calanhir more on knowledge and face skills? I probably would have focused more if I knew what everyone else was doing….

I am not sure how that is possible considering I just followed the prompts on the character generator...are we not suppose to allocate those 10 points at the end?I just tried to recreate your character, and it looks like you've spent over the 10 points alloted.
