"So we have a voidling and a living shadow," says Henry. "Do you mind if we ask you a few more questions about, well, what it's like to be you?"

 

[Tiresias the sage]

Kūsho says, "sure! why not."

"Kit, do you mind answering a few questions?" says Henry, pulling out a notebook from a pocket.

 

[oldantiques]

Kit raised his eye(hypothetically) at the nickname, "...Cat?"

"What questions?" Kit turns to Henry.

 

[phibglib]

"Y'know, 'cuz of the ears!" says Cassie.

"Mostly things having to do with the most salient features of... being what you are," says Henry. "Pretty much anything a human would find strange."

 

[oldantiques]

"Ears?" Kit sighed, "I don't know what you are talking about." Gesturing them to go on, Kit leaned back, "But I will answer some of your questions nonetheless."

 

[phibglib]

"You don't?" says Cassie. "Huh. Maybe I'm just seeing things, then."

"So I guess the first thing would be," says Henry, "what ARE the most salient features of your existence, from your own perspective?"

 

[oldantiques]

"I think it's pretty obvious, being a shadow," Kit gestured an area where the darkness was showing.

 

[Tiresias the sage]

Kūsho says, "fair enough."

 

[phibglib]

"Anything else?" says Henry.

 

[Tiresias the sage]

Kūsho waits for his turn to be spoken to. he is kicking rocks, and one flies off the island.

Henry looks over to see what happens to it.

 

[Tiresias the sage]

it just goes, and goes, eventually vanishing from view like it went outside the renderable chunks in a game.

Henry watches it for a few seconds, then jots something down.

"Kinda wish it did something crazier, like explode or turn into a dancing mouse," says Cassie.

 

[oldantiques]

Kin shakes his head as he watches the rocks go sink down in the void.

"Okay," says Henry. "Kusho, do you have anything to add?"

 

[Tiresias the sage]

Kusho says, "oh me? other than nicknames, nothing more."

 

[phibglib]

"Fine," says Henry. "Then can you tell me anything else you know about how you came to exist, or if you were once human, what happened to put you in this state? Kusho, I already know part of your answer, but if you have anything else to share about that part, I'd like to hear it."
