The One From an Alien Planet

Cortana nodded. "Beach...." She mumbled, looking at him. For some reason, it had a connection to her passing out from inhalation of alien content. She smiled and nodded, drinking more water.

Ren reaches his hand out to her, as though offering to help her stand. "Are you ready to go, m'lady?" He said the last words in a jokingly and playful manner, though more friendly rather than teasing.

Cortana did not understand the words "Mi lady." But she knew what a woman was, which was often referred to as a lady to be respectful. She nodded, her hair bobbing as she did so. She took his hand, smooth and soft, pulling herself up and off the couch.

(Life really slapped me... Sorry this is late, but I'm here @Icefox11)

Ren lead her over to the door, the sky covered by somewhat dark clouds. Ren grabs an umbrella from next to the door, leading her outside. "Well, feels like just yesterday I carried you up these stairs... Oh, it was yesterday," he said with a friendly laugh.

Cortana blinked at him for a bit, copying his smile before moving on cautiously down the stairs. She had never seen said "Stairs" but they proved to be hard to manage. She kept loosing her balance and almost falling over.

Every time she almost fell over, Ren would lightly catch her, though would blush, as he sometimes ended up in a slight hug. He wasn't sure how to even talk while they were on the stairs, as his mind could only think about how he was somewhat hugging her, and how embarrassing it seems to him. Once they reached the bottom of the stairs, he looks at her with another friendly smile, offering his hand once more.

Cortana took his hand, and gripped it. Maybe a bit to hard as she could feel bones bending under her touch. She loosened up a bit, afraid she was going to make them bend to far, though she was curious of the results.

He winces a little from the strong grip, but puts up with it, until she suddenly loosened the grip. He didn't mind if she wanted to hold his hand tightly, as he thought that she might be scared or something, and was holding onto the nearest thing to her. He lightly pulls her in, holding her close by, just showing how much he actually cares about whether or not she feels scared.

Cortana could feel herself being pulled gently towards him, her arms brushing his slightly as they walked out of the apartment. She looked around the grey sky, her eyes darting around as she tried to figure out which mysterious film covered the sky and made it grey.

He leads her down to the beach which they have all to themselves. "Such a nice day... I should've brought something to wear and get in the water with." He wraps one arm around her waist lightly, staring out at the sea. "I think it might rain soon. Really was a good idea to take the umbrella with me."

Cortana didn't even notice his arm, she was already focused on the sea. She was staring at the blue water. Every time she had blinked, it seemed to morph colors. She didn't even bother with the wind that was whipping up in the wind.

Ren opens the umbrella up with one hand, raising it above their heads as it starts to rain a little heavily. A single tear rolls down his face, though he keeps a smile on his face, trying to hide the feelings of the memory he'd just seen in his head.

Cortana jumps, startled by the rain. She almost falls into his arms, looking out at the strange appearance of water in the sky. She reaches out to touch it with a large hand, retreating it as soon as she touched it. She then looked over and spotted one on his cheek. She poked it curiously, smoothing it away with her thumb as she marveled at it.

"I know you probably don't know what you did, but thank you..." He hugs her lightly. An image of his sister was in his mind. His sister, the most important person to her; or was, up until a few years ago.

Cortana was surprised by the sudden hug, doing the same as he was. She was confused, her hand still resting on his cheek. She had no idea what she had really done, but he seemed happier now.

"Do you know... what it means to die...?" His voice was calm and soothing, as though it were a question being asked to the beautiful scenery itself, gentle as to not disturb it.

Cortana nodded, looking at him. She knew what death was, it brought great greif. She knew that there was some of that feeling in her past, but she was not sure who.

"My sister... She died... Even now, I can't help but think of her, every time there's a day like this... There's not a single morning, that I fail to make her portion of breakfast... Even now, in the kitchen, there's a plate of food for her, just in case she were to return..." A tear started falling down his cheek again, this time, followed by a few more on each side.

Cortana moved back a bit, trying to erase these warm tears that kept dripping on her shoulders. She could tell that they where not enjoyable, as his face read sadness. Tears, and sadness. She made the connection already. These where things that happened when humans where sad, just like her, only her's where silver.

Ren smiles through the tears, wiping them away with one hand. He knew that crying wouldn't bring his sister back, as well as his sister would want him to be happy, if not for his sake, for hers.

Cortana smiled, seeing him better. She sat back on the bench, looking curiously at him. He looked a bit better now, but he still seemed kind of sad, so she wanted to fix that.

All he could think about was his sister, and how she would act. She was always playful, but at the same time, cautious and caring. She'd always hug him in a playful, yet loving way. A drop of water hit Cortana's forehead, causing Ren to sit down next to her to keep the rain from getting all over her. He wipes the water off her forehead before returning his hand to his lap.

Cortana watched him with silent curiosity, watching his every movement with her deep eyes. She watched his hand come up towards her forehead and gently wipe off the drop of rain, causing her to cross her eyes until he moved her hand away. Even then, she just silently blinked at him, sitting there under the umbrella.

Ren rests his arm around her, lightly holding her head to his shoulder, in a way that shows how much he truly cares. "If only you could stay with me for a while... I'm sure you have somebody waiting for you elsewhere..."

C0rtana looked at him. "I have no one." She said slowly and softly, looking at him. She leaned her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes. She smiled sadly at him.
