The One From an Alien Planet

Ren blushes a little bit. He smiles at her, glad that she's okay. He helps her sit up, still blushing a little. He sits down next to her, putting his hand on the back of her head for a moment, glad there isn't a bump or anything. Why is it that I'm always put in these kinds of situations...? It's nice to get to be the one helping people, but it's somewhat of an embarrassing job at times... Just like with Sarah... We both nearly had a heart attack from that incident a few months ago...

Cortana closed her eyes, her fingers feeling around his skin carefully. When he pulls her hand away, she can hear a though, just for a moment. Curious, she took her hands and guided them though whatever invisible defenses he had in front of him to press it to his forehead. She was stormed by a collection of thoughts, making her head pound. Wincing, she retracted her hand, murmuring a name. "Sarah." She mumbled.

"Yeah, the incident with Sa- Wait, how do you...!?!?!?" He looks at her, completely shocked by the fact she knows the name he was just thinking. Can she read my thoughts...? If so, then... Dammit, I can't think straight! He walks over to the kitchen, getting himself a glass of water.

Cortana placed a hand to her forehead, scrunching up her facial features. She had gained some knowledge in that brief moment of contact and man did it hurt. She was on a place called "Earth" Which is apparently big and green. "Earth...." She mumbled, shaking her head.

Ren drinks the water, walking back to the living room. He sees her holding her head, so he puts the glass on a nearby table, walking over there. He puts his hand on her forehead, making sure she doesn't have a fever or anything. "You okay...?" His thoughts aren't in words due to not being able to think clearly, though they contain worry as to whether or not she's okay.

Cortana looked up, her eyes meeting his. "I'm... not from here, am I?" She said, her eyes looking deep into his. She brought up his hand, pressing her palm against his, turning her head to look at the both of them. She noted her dark purple like skin, compared to his light skin. Her skin was a lout tougher than his, calloused and bruised.

"What do you mean, not from here...? You mean you're from across the ocean...?" He looks at her, confused to what she meant by not from here. He walks back over to pick up his water, drinking it. "Doesn't matter if you're not from here. What matters is that you're here right now, and to be honest, I'm a little worried about having you here, but I wouldn't want to change it. While you're here, I'll be willing to take care of you."

Cortana looked at him. "Not the.... ocean thing. Earth. I am not from here." She said, looking up at him, turning her hand over. Why was she not like him? Why did she have dark skin, and he did not? Why was his hand smooth like silk, and hers rough like stone?

"Not... from the earth...? That would explain the beautiful purple skin..." He looks at her, a smile on his face, even though most people would be in the middle of processing things before becoming scared. "Still doesn't matter. You're here right now, and that's what matters. I'll still take care of you, from earth or not."

Cortana nodded, a small pain growing inside her chest. Something like missing home. She longed to find out why she was feeling this way, but she decided to drop the alien stuff. Whatever knowledge that she had learned in the past few seconds connecting with his brain had caused her a massive headache.

Ren puts his hand on her forehead, feeling the pounding of her veins at the temple. "You've got some kind of headache, from what I can tell. You should lay down a little bit." He helps her lay down on the couch, concerned about the headache she has.

(Sorry for the inactivity @Icefox11. My life's been shit the past week.)
(I feel ignored. Forgive me for having taken so long to reply to the RP D: *says in joking manner*)

(Well that sucks, but in a way was good since my life was hella busy)

Cortana nodded, her vision fuzzy. All sorts of thoughts raced though her mind, like an endless movie that wouldn't stop if she had tried. She winced at his hand contact, her head throbbing more.

He carefully but quickly pulls the hand that touched her head back, realizing that he probably just hurt her more.He goes and grabs a pack of ice from the kitchen, carefully applying it to her pounding head. He picks up a phone, calling his friend that's probably waiting to walk to school with him. They answer, asking where he is. "Yeah, sorry, but I can't go to school today. Mind telling the club that I won't make it to practice today?" His friend says that he'll tell them, then hangs up.

Cortana winced, feeling the cold on her forehead. "You shouldn't be skipping things for me." She mumbled, looking at him from the corner of her eye. She was sweating a bit now, but she pushed it aside. "I will be fine here alone." She insisted, looking at him. She really didn't want him to throw his life away for an alien orphan, whatever an orphan was anyway.

Ren puts his hand on her shoulder, putting the ice on her forehead once more. "Even if you say that, I'm not going to just leave you here alone... Not while you're in this much pain... I don't know what I'd do if anything were to happen all because I left you alone." He looks directly at her eyes, his filled with kindness and worry, not wanting anything to happen to her.

Cortana nodded, closing one eye as her strength was minimalized. "You are a good man." She mumbled, closing her eyes completely. She let her thoughts calm down and slowly, she fell into a deep deep sleep.

He watches her as she falls asleep, covering her with a thin blanket, enough to keep her warm, without supporting the sweating. "Rest well. Hope you feel better when you wake up." Ren goes and grabs some water, sitting next to Cortana for almost four hours without moving from his spot, whereupon he stands up, trying to decide if he should go to the bathroom, or hold it until he knows she's awake and is fine. He sits down, deciding to hold it it.

Cortana slowly woke up, after around a 6 hour nap. She looked over to the side, seeing Ren sitting next to her. "Did... you stay?" She asked dimly, looking at him. Her vision was kind of blurry, but her headache was gone, and she saw no use for ice. Removing it from her head, she sighed as the warmth returned to her head.

Ren looks at her, taking the ice as she removes it from her head. "Yeah, I stayed. So, how are you feeling? Does your head still hurt?" He picks up the bottle of water he had grabbed, not a single drop missing from it. "Here, drink up." He hands her the water, knowing she's probably thirsty.

Cortana took the bottle, staring at the liquid for a few minutes. Determining that it was safe, she drank a bunch of it, letting it flow down her throat. "Fine." She said, capping the bottle (With some difficulty). After she finally got it, she smiled and put it on the table.

Ren gets up, walking over to the kitchen to get some food. She takes a plateful of sandwiches from the fridge, carrying them in to the living room. "You hungry? If so, here's some food." He sits down, setting the large plate on the table, now eating a few sandwiches himself.

Cortana shook her head. "Thanks, but I am ok." She said, looking at him carefully. She watched his every move, her eyes tracing the way his movements almost made it seem like he was floating.

Ren eats a few more pieces, knowing she's watching him. Her stare just makes me feel uncomfortable... I'll let her watch me though... He puts all the leftover sandwiches back in the fridge, walking back to her and sitting down right next to her. "So, what do you want to do, now that you're feeling better?"

Cortana shrugged. "What can we do?" She asked, looking around. As far as she knew, the world could be full of boxes and squares, since she had never even left the house. Well, boxes and squares with an ocean.

"Well, how about we go out and look at the beach?" He grabs another bottle of water, drinking it himself. "You know, the ocean's quite beautiful at this time of day. The sun setting over the water's just so amazing."
