Lucy and Finn Sullivan
Finn chuckled at Sinead's excitement and nodded his head happily at the thought of dancing again. The dancing had really distracted him that night at Conor's birthday party and he would always look forward to dancing with Sinny, she was one of the best dancers he knew. He hopped in place with her and chuckled again.

Lucy shook her head as Conor told her that he thought the ring looked better on him. "Stealing and wearing things that don't belong to you huh? Just like when you use to steal my clothes and wear them, oh Conor I thought you didn't want us calling you Connie any more!" She teased back before the moment turned serious when he spoke of their father. A small smile came to Lucy's lips as she nodded her head silently hugging her brother briefly again before James and him began to talk about his sure place as best man.

Lucy turned to find Sinead in that moment, it was an absolute no brainer on who she wanted to be her Maid of Honor. Spotting her in the chaos of excitement and well wishes, she moved towards her younger sister and smiled happily at her. "You know how you asked me about the color scheme....well I was thinking how absolutely boring it would be to have to plan this entire wedding by myself." Lucy's smile only got wider, "So, Sinead...I would love it...If you would like to be my Maid of Honor and make this wedding complete?"

Sinead Sullivan

Sinead looked to Lucy as she spoke to her, mentioning the colour scheme and that it would be boring to arrange the wedding by herself. "Ohhh, please let me help-" she began, before realising Lucy hadn't finished speaking. She pretended to zip her mouth shut. Then Lucy asked her if she would be her Maid of Honour and Sinead's jaw dropped before she allowed a bright smile to grow on her lips. "Yes! Yes, I would love to be your Maid of Honour. I will help you with everything. I'll make sure it's all as beautiful as you and it will be perfect," she gushed. She then gave Lucy another tight hug as her eyes filled with tears. "I'm so happy you asked me. I won't let you down," she cried, though it was the happy kind of crying.

Chapter 15: Facing Their Fears
Tuesday 22nd February 1949
Evening - Mild, dry, clear.
********************************
Vincenzo Romano and Leo Davide

Leo and Alex had gone over to Vinnie's house the previous evening and were still there this evening. Since then, Vinnie had been making some phone calls and having his men keep a close eye out for any information as to who had taken Athena and where she was. After Alena had been kidnapped, he took these matters very seriously and if he could get his hands on who was behind her kidnapping, he'd kill the bastards. For now, it seemed like a waiting game. If this was to go down as he expected, he'd be receiving some form of contact soon, how else would he give the abductors what they needed?

tumblr_o041suxS4y1sja44to1_500.jpg
Leo sat on the couch next to Alex. He wanted so badly to give Vinnie a piece of his mind, but he knew now was an inappropriate time. Still, he blamed Romano for this. Completely.

"You can stop looking at me like that, Leo. If you have something to say, man up and say it," Vinnie snapped. He then took a deep breath. "I apologise. I know this wasn't your fault and I'll get Athena back." He then looked to his daughter and sighed. "Are you holding up alright, Alexandra? This won't be a repeat of what happened to your sister. I will make sure of that."

Conor Sullivan

Earlier today, Conor had spoken privately with Lucy and James to ask them about Steve. When they confirmed they hadn't killed Sinead's attacker, it only made his suspicions grow. It felt like too much of a coincidence for someone to have killed him for an unrelated reason. From what he understood, the guy was obssessed with Sinead and it was a big leap for his murder to have been unrelated to that.

James had also taken the opportunity to tell Conor the truth about his mother and that she was a Romano. Whilst Conor was initially shocked by the revelation, he felt he owed it to trust James and Lucy with their judgements on the woman. Given that he was in love with Vinnie's own daughter, it wasn't beyond the realms of possibility that Rayna was a good person. Regardless of how happy he was for James finally being reunited with his mother, he told him and Lucy to remain cautious. Conor had known Vinnie too long to ever trust the man, he just hoped Rayna was genuine and wasn't going to let James down.

Knowing James was going to be seeing Rayna this evening, Conor pulled Lucy to one side so he could talk to her about Sinead. He hoped he was wrong and that she really was just meeting a friend after work, but he couldn't help but feel suspicious. As difficult as it was, he intended on watching his younger sister this evening and he had asked Lucy to accompany him. Something wasn't right and he needed to find out what before Sinead got herself into more danger. Feeling like he needed someone with him but not sure what he was expecting, he asked Lucy to join him.

When they arrived at the Lakeside Restaurant, Conor peered through the window to see Sinead was busy working, playing the piano. He then returned to Lucy in his car, which he had parked a short distance away. "She's still inside. She finishes in ten minutes," he said, glancing to his watch. From their position, they had a clear view of the main entrance and the sidewalk in front, where cars would pull in to pick up or drop off people. "Do you think I'm getting paranoid?" he curiously asked Lucy. "I just keep getting a bad feeling. Sinead seems happy, but I just feel like she's distant with me now. Like she's hiding something."

Sinead's shift had flown by tonight. She had so many happy thoughts going through her mind these days. Between thinking about Lucy's upcoming wedding and daydreaming about her sweet Giovanni, everything felt perfect, for once in her life.

When she'd finished playing the last song, she was quick to return to the dressing room, telling her colleagues she couldn't stop for drinks this evening as she had a hot date. Sinead spent some time applying her lipstick and styling her hair, before glancing to the clock. She didn't want to keep Angel waiting.

Sinead grabbed her bag and headed out of the restaurant. She then set off walking to where Angel would be waiting for her a block away.

Lorenzo had requested the chance to speak with Finn to apologise for what he had done to him, for how he had tortured him. The Detective had agreed to try set a meeting up, but reminded him it was all dependant on Finn's wishes, as he was the victim of this crime. Lorenzo had been asked to wait at the station that evening so he was there and ready should Finn agree to come along.

Those remaining in the lounge of the Sullivan house, (Finn, Aidan, Carrick, Arlene), would be joined by David. "Finn, you've got a visitor at the front door. A Detective Edwards," he informed him. "He wants to speak with you, but he assured me you haven't done anything wrong," he quickly added, with a slight smirk.

The previous evening, James had asked Rayna to meet him by the pier. He hadn't been sure of a neutral place to suggest, but perhaps it was the photographs of him at the pier as a toddler that made him choose to meet there. He figured they could talk whilst walking and perhaps get a bite to eat at one of the restaurants.

The air was mild, so James didn't mind standing outside waiting. He had arrived a little early, wishing to scope the place out first and make sure this wasn't a trap. It wasn't that he didn't trust Rayna, he just really didn't trust Vinnie.

Alex went with Leo to her family home late on monday night and was still present. She had brought Rocco with her as she was unsure as to how long she would be here and looking down at the sleeping puppy in her lap, she was glad that she had.
Alex subconsciously stroked Rocco as she stared into space. She was exhausted, having not slept the night before due to a mixture of guilt and fear. The pain in the back of her head had lessened to a mear dull pain but her mind was still on overdrive. She was scared about being caught, she felt guilty for her action but over all she was fearful for Athena's life. The sweet innocent girl did not deserve this and Alex couldnt figure out why anyone would want to harm her.
Alex jumped from her thought when she heard her father shout at Leo and rubbed her head in irritation, about to speak up when her father apologised. Alex gave Leo's hand a reassuring squeeze before leaning into him slightly, careful not to put any strain on his injuries. When her father spoke to her, Alex looked up to him with a slight smile "I've been better, I just dont know why they havn't rang yet" she said with a sigh "have you any idea who might be behind this?" She asked him "even a hunch?"

Angel's black Chevrolet sat under the florescent street lights. As he waited for Sinead to come out of work, as per usual, his feet laid sprawled across the dash. In his hands was the daily paper; Angel strictly focused on the current events section. Sinead was good about being on time, hardly ever making him wait. With the usual gut feeling, he moved the paper down to inspect the road. To his delight, he was able to make out Sinead's figure in the distance. He watched her make her way down the sidewalk, before crossing the street. Angel put his feet down and gingerly folded up the newspaper; before tucking it between the driver's seat and the center console.

As Sinead opened the car door, the interior lights came on. "Good evening," he said, leaning in for a kiss. As she sat down in the chair, he turned the car on. After the roaring engine came to a low murmur, he pulled off of the curb. "How was work?" He asked, keeping one hand on her head rest and the other on the steering wheel.

As she walked down the street, Sinead saw Angel's car in the distance and she smiled to herself as she quickened her pace. She quickly crossed over and approached the car, wasting no time in opening the passenger door. She climbed into the seat and closed the door after her. "Good evening," she replied to him, also leaning into meet his lips for a kiss. When the kiss ended she still remained close to his face for a moment, looking him in the eyes and smiling.

Sinead sat back as Angel started up the car and she tilted her head so she could look to him as they spoke. "Work was really good. Everything just seemed better today and Mr Buchanan finally chose a new playlist." She briefly looked to the road ahead before paying attention to Angel again. "What have you been up to today, Giovanni?" she asked him. "And more to the point... Where are we going this evening?" she excitedly asked.

Lucy Sullivan

Lucy had agreed to go with Conor to follow Sinead. Lucy hadn't thought about it in months but the suspicions of what her sister was up to was now seeming to become clearer and clearer, but the answer still had yet to uncover itself. Steve had been murdered, which Conor had come to James and Lucy asking if they had been responsible for the young mans death, when neither of them confirmed that they had anything to do with the incident it was clear that someone else was involved now. Lucy was curious as to why her sister had been so distracted lately. In the events that have occurred, she thought...no expected her sister to break down, not that she wanted her to. But this was a norm that the Sullivan's had grown accustomed to, Sinead was their sensitive flower.

Lucy watched from her brother's car as he peered through the window of the place Sinead was working at. They would continue to follow her throughout the night but it all started here. She watched with a raised eyebrow as her brother returned to the car and shut the door as he stared towards the restaurant. When asked if he was being paranoid, Lucy shook her head with a fond smile. "I use to do this with you both all the time." She chuckled lightly, "Its a sibling thing...we know when something might be up." She murmured to him. "She has been distant lately...and as much as I love seeing our girl happy, she has been uncharacteristically so. I am paranoid as well honestly." Just as Lucy spoke, she noticed a figure begin to walk out of the place.

Her eyes narrowed slightly. "Look." She simply said to Conor before nodding to the small figure that had began walking on the side walk. She was almost 100% positive that this figure was their sister, noticing the way the figure walked. She was heading towards a car parked under a street light and looked like she was about to get in. "Turn on the car quickly. We gotta see where she's going." She told her brother quickly before moving to fasten her seatbelt once more.

Finn had been sitting around the lounge with his cousins. Not really discussing much for he was still feeling a bit out of it, but he was just as happy to listen to those around him and crack a smile every once in a while to let them know he was still listening. Samson had made himself at home on Finn's lap the pup had taken quiet a liking to him whenever his parents were out of the house. Lady was laying near the others chewing on a toy mindlessly. At David's words, Finn's eyebrows rose and his heart was sent into overdrive upon hearing a detective wanted to speak with him. But David added in that the detective had said he wasn't in trouble and that put him at ease a bit.

Gentle placing Samson on the floor, he nodded his head in response. "Thank you David, I will go meet with him now.." He murmured before looking around at his cousins, "Excuse me." He said before heading towards the front door. He cautiously opened the door to reveal the man and Finn stood tall feeling the urge to cross his arms but remaining quite open in his stance, not wanting to seem off putting to the authorities. "How can I help you this evening Detective Edwards?" Finn asked politely, a small smile appearing on his face.

Normally would Carrick would had stayed on the lounge and hang out with the others but not today. Today he had decided to go outside, wearing his clothes, which consisted on jeans and a sleeveless shirt, and see if there was any car that he could fix, but eventually he only found one, which had irritated him, considering that he hadn't done this before. Mostly because whenever he tried to fix a car, James was there to help him out but considering that he wasn't at home, he had decided to tried out what he could do to fix it, which was difficult since he didn't know which equipment to use, so he had eventually decided to give up and go outside and head toward the pub, while driving one of the gang member car. Honestly he felt better being at the pub now that he was trying to do the best he could so that he himself wouldn't always stay inside the Sullivan household. When he got there, he just decided to go sit at one of the stool while ordering some water. "Hmmm."

"Aww, shucks. My big sister watching over me all those years," he lightly joked. Conor listened to Lucy and let out an apprehensive sigh as she mentioned how happy Sinead had seemed lately. "I just hope whatever it is can be worked around. The last thing I want is to take that spark away from her, especially with what I watched her go through after dad..."

Conor fell silent as they sighted Sinead walking down the street. "Where are you going, Tinkerbell?" he muttered as he started the car. He didn't fasten his seatbelt and he didn't start the car until he'd seen the one Sinead had got into move. This was the first proper drive he'd had in this car since Shannon got him it for his birthday. His car wasn't recognisable. Conor knew Angel drove a black Chevrolet but was hoping this was a coincidence. "I don't think any of us are going to like this," he admitted to Lucy.

The Detective stood on the doorstep outside. He had his hands in his trouser pockets as he looked around, observing the parked vehicles and men keeping watch over the house. He had no respect for any gangsters, but he knew this was mostly a defence, with the likes of the Romanos as enemies they had little choice but to hire protection.

When Finn came to the door, the Detective withdrew his hands from his pockets and flashed his ID badge long enough for the lad to take it in. "I'm Detective Steven Edwards. I'm following up on a report... Confession, I've received from Lorenzo Romano about what happened to you last week." He cleared his throat and his usually hard face was softer and encouraging. "Can we talk, Mr Sullivan? I'm not after information from you or anything that would get you or your family into trouble."

Angel shared his vision between the road and Sinead. When Sinead asked him what'd he been up to today, he shrugged lightly, as he usually did. Instead of telling her he spent the afternoon kicking in the teeth of a shop owner who refused to pay their protection fee, he decided to go with, "Nothing much; had a lot of paperwork to sort through." He smiled as Sinead dropped the question of where they were going. "A resturant that I think will suit your taste. It's a couple blocks down."

When the car came to a halt at the stop light, Angel's eyes wandered to the review mirror. He could've swore he saw Conor's reflection, but it was soon obstructed by a Ford, pulling up directly behind them. He shrugged it off as the light turned green, deciding he was just seeing things.

Angel parked in the lot to the side of the fancy resturant. It was always easy taking Sinead to high end establishments, due to her suiting up for her performances. As they stepped out of the car, Angel rested his hand on the curvature of Sinead's back. He opened the door of the busy resturant for her, before walking in himself.

Lucy was anxious to know what her sister was up to and as she took a closer look at the vehicle she was getting into, Lucy's heart skipped a beat. She definitely recognized that vehicle and the thought of being only a few hundred feet from the man made her want to squirm. Conor's words only seemed to confirm her greatest fear and looked back to where Sinead was. Lucy remember her sister talking of Angel before, like he was some sort of good person, a gentleman even. Lucy wondered how the hell her sister ever saw that for the few times she encountered the man, he was neither.

"Fuck." Lucy choked out, her face becoming pale as she continued to look at the vehicle. It began to move and so did their car , as the siblings continued to trail Sinead. If Sinead was seeing Angel, Lucy didn't even know how to feel about that thought. Now that he had been involved with her father's death, using her as a little pawn in his game. She wanted nothing more than to see the man dead. Lucy felt sick, nauseous even as she thought about Sinead betraying her family like this. Lucy quickly moved to the window and cracked it slightly, letting the cool air hit her face as she tried to calm herself down.

Finn raised both his eyebrows in surprise as Detective Edwards revealed why he was here. Suddenly, they furrowed together as his captures full name came up into the conversation. "Lorenzo Romano hmm?" He asked lightly before deciding whether or not he wanted to discuss the things that had happened with him. He didn't talk about it much with his family so why would he give this Detective such information? Setting his jaw slightly, he bit his lip before nodding. "Yea...lets talk," Instead of inviting the man inside however, he shut the front door and cross his arms.

"I would invite you in, but I know the rest of my cousins' aren't necessarily on good terms with the law..." Finn said before leaning against the door staring at the detective with dull blue eyes. "What you wanna know Detective?"

"Paperwork?!" Sinead scoffed. "You poor thing. Hopefully I'll be able to make the rest of your day more enjoyable," she playfully told him. When he told her they were going to a restaurant, she smiled. "Ohh, I bet it's nice. You always find the best places to take me out for dinner. I can't wait."

Once Angel had parked the car, Sinead carefully climbed out of the vehicle, making sure she didn't stumble in her heels. She then met Angel and smiled fondly as he rested his hand of her back. The warmth of his touch always made her feel safe and comfortable. She thanked her lover when he opened the door for her and she took hold of his hand as they waited to be seated. Angel had already made a reservation so they were taken straight to a table in the corner of the room.

"Oh, Giovanni. This place is gorgeous," she told him as she took her seat. When she looked at the cocktail menu she was spoiled for choice, so decided to go with whatever Angel was having. She was always curious about trying different drinks. "Order two of whatever you're drinking - I can't decide," she cheekily asked. "I already known I want something involving chicken for dinner, though," she assured him.

Conor watched the car pull into the parking lot down the side of the restaurant, so he pulled up along the sidewalk a distance away, across the road. He turned the headlights and engine off, before tightly gripping the steering wheel. In his mind, there was still a chance he was mistaken and it would turn out to be just innocent guy his sister was dating. However, as his eyes were glued to the other car, his fears were confirmed as he saw Angel get out from the driver's side before placing his hand on Sinead to lead her into the restaurant. Conor slammed the back of his head against the headrest of the car seat. There was no denying it now. Sinead and Angel were clearly together.

"Lucy...." he muttered, turning his head to look to his older sister, a single tear rolling down his cheek. "Tell me I'm hallucinating," he asked of her. He sat up straight and took deep breaths, feeling his heart racing in his chest. He wondered how long this had been going on and how long Sinead had been lying to them. He loved his Tinkerbell to bits, but this hurt and it felt like his heart was breaking just thinking of her betraying him in this way. "Shit... Is this how you felt when you first found Alex and me together? I'm fucking sorry if I caused you to feel the way I'm feeling right now."

Conor took a deep breath before turning the engine on again and driving into the restaurant parking lot. He hadn't even bothered to switch his headlights on, simply driving into a spot a few cars down from Angel's vehicle. Once again, he switched the engine off and placed his trembling hands on the steering wheel. "I want to rip that bastard's head off. Any arguments?" he asked Lucy, knowing she was usually more level-headed than him. Right now he was trying his better to calm himself down. The restaurant was a public place, after all.

The Detective nodded as Finn repeated his captor's name. When Finn explained why he couldn't invite the man inside, he completely understood. "Mr Sullivan, I understand. I'm not here to try arresting anyone or to uncover any crimes. If I'm honest, I don't need to know anything from you. Lorenzo has told me enough." He took a deep breath and placed his hands in his pockets, taking on a more casual demeanour. "You see, Lorenzo Romano wishes to speak with you. He's realised that what he did was sick and his conscience has made an appearance." He looked Finn in the eyes. "Would you be willing to listen to what the man has to say? I can't begin to imagine how you are feeling, but perhaps facing the man, speaking your mind and listening to him might help relieve some of your suffering? I can assure you I will be present the whole time and if you wish to bring along any family members then that's perfectly fine." He cleared his throat. "I believe this is your chance to make sure the man faces up to his crimes."

Lucy watched closely as they pulled into another restaurant. Lucy was praying that both Conor and herself were wrong about what they were about to find. But when Angel exited the car and lead their younger sister into the place, it was all clear. There was no denying what their eyes were seeing and Lucy felt incredibly ill. The surrounding area around them spun as she tried to think straight, the anger she felt for the man that held her sister close had rekindled itself with a new deadly purpose.

Conor spoke her name softly and Lucy turned her head to see the tears already rolling down his cheeks. She stayed silent as he requested that she tell him that he was hallucinating. She wished she could tell him that he was, that this was all some bad dream they would both wake up from. Nodding her head, she was glad that Conor had finally understood how she had felt about him and Alex together, but now she was feeling it tenfold. Angel had used her, terrified her into setting up the trap for her father's death. She of course, foolishly didn't say anything like she probably should have...but the man was manipulative.

Whatever was going on between Sinead and him was strictly one sided. That man could hold no love in his heart...she was sure of it. Conor voiced what he wanted to do to Angel and for once Lucy agreed, unable to be the voice of reason with the way she was feeling. "This needs to end now." She spoke in a low voice. "I want him no where near us...no where near Sinead. And if she thinks she is getting off easily for being this foolish." Lucy growled. "Lets go get her." She murmured, looking to Conor to see if he would argue with her on this. The man was dangerous, and Sinead had no business being around him.

Finn was surprised to hear that his captor wanted to speak with him. Apparently having cleansed himself of his crimes by confessing to the law. Finn wanted to laugh in this detectives face and tell him to tell this Lorenzo to piss off. But of course, even in the darkest of days for him, his curiosity peaked. What more could this man possibly have to say to him? Was he apologizing just to get something in return or to cleanse himself? Finn shifted uncomfortably from foot to foot as he tried to think of what he should do. He had the option to decline the man's request...but as the Detective before him said...he could make sure the man faces up to his crimes. This was an opportunity that Finn wasn't going to get again.

Nodding his head at the Detective, he let out a deep breath before running a hand through his head. "Guess I have to face my fears at some point huh?" He murmured to the man. "I will come alone without any other family, they have been put through too much at the hands of the Romano's. They don't need to be apart of this. I agree to hear him out."

When Lucy said this needed to end now, Conor dried his eyes on his sleeve and retrieved his gun from the glove compartment, slotting it inside his jacket. Lucy hadn't argued with him wanting to rip Angel's head off and he wasn't going to argue with her wanting to go get Sinead away from the man. "Alright. Come on," he simply said. He got out of the car and slammed the door shut. Figuring Lucy was close behind, he marched straight to the main entrance of the restaurant and through the doors.

"Sir, do you have a reservation?" the unimposing waiter asked.

"Shove your reservation," Conor hissed back. His head and eyes darted around until he finally sighted Sinead sat looking cosy at a table with Angel. She looked happy and were she with just about any other man, Conor might be able to appreciate seeing her looking so content, but she was dining with an evil monster and that simply was not allowed to happen. Conor made a furious beeline towards the table, his eyes fixed on Angel. "Get the fuck away from my sister!" he coldly ordered the Italian.

Sinead snapped out of her happy daydream when she heard Conor's voice. She almost choked on her drink when she looked up to see her brother and sister approaching. She froze for a second and dropped the glass, causing the contents to spill out across the table. Sinead shot up to her feet, both to avoid being soaked and in anticipation of what was about to happen. Her heart raced in her chest and she began to feel quite sick. She couldn't believe Conor and Lucy had shown up at the restaurant. She was terrified now they knew her secret.

Conor tightly clenched his fists and when Angel stood up, he moved in to punch the Italian square in the jaw, but Angel managed to dodge any impact. "STOP!" Sinead yelled and stepped between her brother and her lover. "Please, everyone. Just stop..."

Lucy was dead set on getting her sister away from that horrible monster that she didn't even think of what Conor might do. He grabbed the gun from the glove compartment before sliding it into his jacket. Lucy got out of the car as he did and followed as closely behind as she could. Her brother was taking large strides towards the restaurant and for a moment, she wondered if what they were doing was a total mistake. Walking into the place, Conor ignored the waiter who dared questioned if they had a reservation, searching for Sinead. Lucy found her at the table just as her brother had, and she couldn't help but feel a bit of sadness for what they were about to do to the poor girl. She was stuck under the devil's trance and it was going to be a long fall before she could safely stand on her own again.

Lucy struggled to keep up with Conor once again as he made a beeline for the table the couple was at. Lucy could see the horrified expression in Sinead's features as they made their way over, clearly, they weren't suppose to know about this little part of her life. Lucy felt sick to her stomach, horrified that the man her sister was seeing could so easily sit and lie to her face.

Everything happened so quickly as Connor attempted to hit Angel in the face. The italian easily dodging the punch before anything could hit him. Lucy took a step forward as her sister foolishly stepped in between the men. Her heart racing. "No Sin. You don't get to have a say right now. How could you lie to us? To the whole family? Have you any idea what this monster has done to us?" Lucy barked at her from where she stood, The bag slung around her shoulder weighed heavy as her own gun itched to be used. She wanted to fire a whole round of bullets into Angel's chest and watch him die before her very eyes. But as she saw the heartbreak in her sisters features, she knew that if Conor or herself were to hurt this man....they would lose Sinead forever.

Angel had decided to go with the the stuffed clams, before offering the menu back to the waiter. He then looked to Sinead, resting his hand on hers. "Can I just tell you how gorgeous you look?" He smiled to her, swirling the cocktail in his other hand. Due to him facing the door he was able to see the commotion at the front. At first, he assumed it was a couple of customers complaining, until the pair started heading his way. His smile instantly dropped as he saw the veins popping out of Conor's neck. He instinctively stood up, either to run for the exit or to bury six shots in the Irish bulls' sternum.

The powerful punch snapped at him like the bite of a python. Luckily, Angel had anticipated this kind of reaction, leaning away. He could feel the furious winds whip against his face as the punch narrowly missed his nose.

He looked to Conor, before looking back to Lucy. His hand was instinctively pressed against the back of his waistband, where his revolver was hidden. "If I knew you two were coming, I would've reserved a bigger table."

"Lucy, what do you mean I don't get a say? I'm standing right here, aren't I?" Sinead asked. "I didn't want to lie to you, but I love him and you would never understand. I'd have been dead by now if it wasn't for Giovanni," Sinead argued, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Vinnie is the monster. It's always been Vinnie!" she argued.

"Wake up, Sinead!" Conor snapped. "Angel is no better than Vinnie. They both want to hurt us and that includes you." Conor just couldn't understand how she could think this way and do this to her family. He could only assume she wasn't thinking and her head was still messed up. It was the only way he could get his head around it. "You're not thinking clearly, Sinead. Your head is still messed up and that sociopath you're protecting is manipulating you." Seeing he wasn't getting through to her, Conor bit his lip as he knew his next words wouldn't go down well. "Angel doesn't love you or even care for you, Sinead. He's played you for a fool. He knows you're sweet and naive, so he's taken advantage of that."

"You don't know him the way I do. Don't you think I have a mind of my own?!" she angrily asked her siblings. "You don't know Giovanni like I do," she cried. Still standing between the two men, Sinead could barely still breathe or stand as her body trembled. She felt herself being pulled apart. She'd only just fixed herself and everyone just wanted to break her again."

Lucy shook her head harshly as she listened to her sister. The anger that was building up in Lucy was almost too much for her and before Lucy could even stop herself, the gun that she had been carrying was out of her bag, which now fell to the floor. "You would have been dead if it wasn't for this monster? Is that what you really think?" Lucy spoke directly after Sinead told them that they didn't know Angel the way she did, that he wasn't a monster. All of the words she was saying, she was clearly in love with him...she was being used. Lucy kept the gun against her, pointing it towards the floor. Making it clear that she wasn't going to do anything yet.

"What about us Sin?! Conor, Myself, James! Have we not saved your life more than once! Have we not spent our entire lives trying to keep our innocent little sister alive and well through all of this madness! And you willingly want to throw yourself to the wolves!" Lucy didn't care if the people around them were alarmed and concerned, she didn't care who heard.

"So if he loves you so much, did he tell you about his appearance at the Halloween Ball? How he locked James in a bathroom and scared me have to death. How he kissed me? Do you even know where he was on the night that father died Sin? TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT HIM." She cried out, trying desperately to make her sister see how horrible this man was. The lies were over, the truth was to come out and Lucy wasn't going to stop until Angel suffered just as much as her family had. "If you had a mind of your own you wouldn't be with this monster. He is just as much apart of all of this as Vinnie is Sin."

Angel really didn't have a choice, but to stand back and take this. He couldn't lie to Sinead, nor was he cowardly enough to run off. Instead he stood there, his vision flashing from anger to sadness. He looked to Sinead, completely defeated. He really did love her, but any of the accusations could prove otherwise. He wanted to shoot Lucy and Conor and run from the resturant and never look back, but he stayed in his frozen state. His hands had since moved from his gun, gripping the napkin on the table.

"It's what I know! That night in the jazz club, he took a bullet for me," Sinead argued with her sister. "He's never been a monster to me. He made me feel like I wanted to live again." She quickly nodded her head as Lucy spoke about her family saving her life. "Yes, yes you all have. But do you know how it feels to be a burden on a family that's already troubled enough with its own problems? I tried to leave. I tried to have a normal life, but I got dragged back into it and you were all forced to protect poor little Sinead. Except mum and Carrick. They never liked having me back and they were right. I was always going to let you down in some way."

When Lucy started firing questions at her and accusations at Angel, Sinead could feel the room around her spinning. She said Angel had kissed her and suggested he was behind her father's death. She looked over her shoulder to see Angel standing in silence. He wasn't even trying to defend himself or trying to assure them he loved her. Sinead felt sick and she really couldn't breathe too well. Had Angel really killed Emmet? She whipped her head back around to face Lucy as her sister accused her of not having a mind of her own. None of them knew Giovanni, like she didn't know Angel.

Sinead took a couple of deep breaths before looking back to Angel, then to her siblings. "You can all just fuck off!" she snapped, probably the first time any of them had heard her swear. "You're all going to die because you don't know anything different. In fact, the best way to save me would be to stop saving my life. This whole city is a hellhole. I wish I was with daddy, because he's at peace now." Sinead shook her head and brushed past Conor, heading for the door.

Sinead's words cut through Lucy's heart like a knife and she watched as her sister began to break down once more. She was stunned into silence as she swore at them and told them they were all going to die because they didn't know anything different. She stormed off in that moment and Lucy let her, not wanting to upset her any more than she had to, she could see what the man was capable of.

Lucy took a few strides towards Angel and stared him dead in the face. "What ever the fuck you had with my sister is done with, you understand me? You are a selfish prick for even making her believe that you loved her! You can hurt the rest of us, but when it comes to that young woman, we would all die for her before letting her fall for another one of your tricks." Lucy's words were like venom as she shook with anger. "You come near her and I will personally fire the bullet that puts an end to your miserable existence. " With that warning, Lucy turned to follow her sister leaving the rest to Conor.

He could do some damage to the man if he wished, Lucy knew that much and she hoped Conor would hurt him. "Sinead!" Lucy called out to her sister as she made her way towards the door. "Stop this! Hold on a minute!" She said as she moved to step in front of her younger sisters path.

Angel watched her walk away, like a single ray of light vanishing from sight and leaving him in the darkness. An immense ringing had overcome his ears, Lucy's venomous words only audible as muffled shouts. He then watched her leave, leaving him to stand and absorb what had happened. His one chance at a normal and happy life had been snatched from him.

Once the ringing had faded away and his senses came back, the vile fury ran through his veins. His face twisted with anger as he grabbed the neck of the open champagne bottle on the table. With a heft hurl, the bottle flew across the room and exploded on the wall, leaving the alcohol to drip down.

He shuffle walked towards the door, so upset that everyone around him was blurred out of his vision. His shoulder connected with Conors as he shoved past him. He almost hoped Conor would try and stop him so he could pull the revolver from his waistband and blow his lungs out of his back.

He fought the urge to chase Lucy down and curb stomp her on the very street he was parked on. Instead, he moved for his parked car. After reaching the handle, he basically threw the door open. As he reversed, the back of his car slammed into the license plate of the car behind him. He seemed to hardly notice, or care, as he sped off down the road.

Detective Edwards

The Detective wasn't really sure if he was glad or not that Finn had agreed to come to the station. He hoped this encounter really would help the young man as he could see in his eyes that Finn was troubled, so wanted to do something to make the Romanos' victim feel better. Edwards nodded when the lad said he'd come alone, but gave him chance to get his coat and inform someone of where he was going.

Once at the station, Edwards saw Lorenzo seated in the waiting area. Ensuring he remained alongside Finn, the Detective motioned for Lorenzo to join them. Rather than take them to some grim interview room, he took them into his office and motioned to the two chairs at one side of his desk. He sat on his own side and offered the men a drink.

"Alright, Lorenzo. You wished to speak with Mr Sullivan, so now is your chance," he prompted the Italian. Though he was right there in the room, Edwards made a point of being silent during their conversation, only intending on speaking up if he felt it became necessary.

After the unwanted visit from the Russians, Olivia had wished to return to her own home the following day. Although she knew Vinnie had been trying to protect her, she felt her own place was less stressful for her whilst still recovering. She'd been visited by the doctor earlier, who had checked her wound, confirming it was healing fine, and given her some good painkillers. She hoped Nicolo would swing by this evening as she fancied getting out of the house for a bit, even if they couldn't do much other than relax in a restaurant or quiet bar.

Lorenzo had spent the past few days realigning his buisness tactics. Now that he was a informant, he knew he needed to slowly snuff out the drugs entering Chicago. It would be difficult to do it unnoticed though, seeing as Vinnie liked to keep updated on his buisness’s wellbeing. But, he could do it. Slowly paying off hitman to take out shipments would do just fine, and the first one was to happen tonight, somewhere in Kansas. With that headache gone, his new one arose from a perticular fellow. Finnian Sullivan.

Sitting in the waiting room, his foot tapped anxiously on the cool tile floor. Just a few days ago he was turning himself in, which hardly scared him. Now it felt as if judgment day was upon him... Snapping from his thoughts as he heard a group of footsteps, he eagerly looked up to see both the Detective, and Finn. Keeping his emotion in check for now, the three entered the room as if nothing had happened at all. Deciding to stand instead of sit, he waved away the drink offer. He needed a clear mind, and a clear conscious for this...

Finnian, I failed to properly introduce myself at our last encounter. I am Lorenzo Romano... But I think we can mutually agree that the last name is one to forget.” Taking a deep breath, his emerald eyes locking with the other man’s, his work was evident. Although he was put together on the exterior, the broken glass house behind the walls were clear, and painful to stare at. “I’m going to keep my explanation short, because we both know what happened, and I know there will never be a true way for you to forgive or forget... But I just want to say this.” Placing his hand gently on the man’s shoulder, he softened his face, seeing the broken beauty of Finn’s.

I was where you were at... It took me 15 years to move past the love of my life, and to this day I know that he was the one...” Pausing after his prefix, he continued. “But here’s what I want you to know, and after I say it you can do whatever the fuck you want to me... When someone is broken Finn, it reveals their true natural to the world to spectate. Good or bad, it can’t be helped. But, it’s the most effective way to rebuild oneself, and you come out stronger than before...”

Sinead Sullivan

As she rushed out of the restaurant, Sinead felt her dizziness returning and she felt her breaths shortening. She was fed up of always feeling so sick and tired. When Lucy stepped in front of her, Sinead stopped still and practically gave up trying to escape. "Why did you follow me, Lucy?" she asked, quickly wiping her eyes. "You don't understand. You'll never understand the way I feel. I need Giovanni... I can't do this alone," she said. Sinead stumbled back a little before just getting down to sit on the floor, everything becoming too overwhelming for her. "You and Conor need to leave me here."

Sinead fell silent as she watched Angel rush out of the restaurant so he could get into his car, slam the door and angrily drive off. "I was going to tell him tonight. I kept stalling and I finally decided to tell him the truth," she spoke. It wasn't even clear if she was addressing Lucy anymore or just talking to herself. But then she did fix her eyes on Lucy before bursting out into an uncontrollable sob. "I can't even go home, Lucy. Everyone will hate me and you'll all disown me. Daddy would be furious if he knew that I'm..." Sinead placed her hand on her tummy as she looked Lucy in the eyes. "I'm pregnant, Luce. I was scared before all of this just happened, but now I'm terrified..." she said, her hands visibly trembling as she struggled to get any other words out.
