Finn gave his Aunt a lopsided grin and nodded his head. "You are family, I would never let you die on me." He promised her, "And I am down for that night out again when you are recovered.."He watched as her eyes closed and he was sure that she was going to fall asleep within that moment, exhausted from everything. But that's when Connor came through the door of the pub, having a concerned expression etched on his features.

Looking to his cousin as he began questioning him, he sighed. "We were walking from here to another bar in town, minding our own damn business when these two dicks in a black Chrysler began shooting us up. I didn't seem them until they began shooting and just after they stopped. Definitely didn't look like an accident and I'm sure it wasn't a coincidence either..." He said to his cousin, then turning his attention to James as he spoke. He was in agreement that they should all head home but he excused himself to clean up all the blood first.

Lucy looked to Conor worriedly, seeing the anger in his expression and body language. Placing a gentle hand on his shoulder, she looked to their mother. "As much as I want to see Romano's blood paint the streets, we must think about this rationally. Revenge might seem like something that needs to happen...but when you fight fire with fire..." Lucy knew that Conor knew where she was going with this. With that little piece of advice, she left him to his thoughts and moved to James, a worried look on her face. Finn stepped out cleaned of blood and joined the group. "We should get Shannon to the car then hmm?" Finn asked Conor lightly, also seeing the intensity in his face.

Magdeline Sullivan was in a good place again. Production was almost over on her new film, and much to her delight she was able to return to Chicago to work in a small studio till her director was pleased. She was still searching for a new role, and so far, her current pay looked very promising. Maggie was undeniably, a happy girl again. Of course, the loss of her uncle Emmet had stirred her up inside. The one night she had off of work left her caring for her extremely broken family as best she could. Even Lucy's disappearance had struck a chord within her. But, with Maggie's constant leave, to work on the film, she had been quick to push the demons out of her head and focus on only the good. She was lucky to have a distraction the others didn't. Maggie was making the most of her opportunities despite everything happening around her, and the anger the Romano's had stirred within her. Now, her eyes focused on the road in front of her as she turned into the street containing The Emerald, her newly painted car rumbling characteristically. Her brow furrowed at the tiny amount of people huddled amongst their cars, talking in hushed whispers. Down the path, the only person she recognized was the pubs bodyguard. Immediately, Maggie pulled her car into the only available spot against the curb and jumped out, with her string bag over her shoulder. Once the car was locked, she didn't hesitate to practically run towards the Emerald and question the bodyguard. A string of curses escaped her as she made her way inside the pub and took a couple steps foward before she was breathing a heavy sigh of relief behind the gang in finding her aunt was okay. She could see her slowly drifting off on the bench between her cousin, but she was awake. No doubt, if she had been injured, that this was her brothers brave doing. She turned to Finn when he spoke, with a forced look of amusement. "But I just got here~." She was utterly proud of him. Maggie rushed forward to her aunt, taking the free space beside Conor. "Is she okay? Who shot her?" She was pretty sure she already had a good idea of who it was. They were only adding to the family's rage.... Worry was etched into her face when she looked down at her aunt. But she could see she was gonna be okay. The woman looked absolutely exhausted. "Finn patched you up real good huh?" She didn't expect an answer from her attempt to keep the lightened mood. The place was drenched in it. No-one here wanted to let Shannon think for a second that something bad could come out of this. Maggie looked back at her brother in hopes she could get an answer, or half of one, before they evacuated the pub and got Shannon to the safety of their home.

Conor listened to Finn's every word as he explained what had happened. Two men had intentionally opened fire on his mother and cousin. That was just not acceptable. "I should have known this peace was a lie. The Romanos are going to fucking pay for this. They should have paid months ago but I gave them the benefit of the doubt." He felt Lucy's hand on his shoulder and listened to her as she tried to reason. "They killed dad and tried to do the same to mum. I want to see them suffer for this," he explained. Contrary to what many would believe, Conor had never killed another person. He'd severely injured men and come close, but never quite enough to finish them off. The way he felt right now, he wanted to finally break that record and would gladly choke the life out of the scum with his bare hands. Something clearly possible in the light of the time he visited the haunted house and flipped. When Finn and James were suggesting getting Shannon home, he could tell part of their intention was to also get him home and away from the urge for revenge. Though he was furious, he was willing to think on this for the night. He wanted to make sure he planned his next move carefully so nothing would get in the way of their revenge.

"We'll all meet back at home and talk about this," Conor announced, gently squeezing Maggie's shoulder as he acknowledged her.

*********

When they all arrived home, Conor asked Carrick to help Finn get Shannon up to her room. Conor was about to head for some painkillers and water for his mother when he passed the lounge and something caught his eye. Conor stopped at the lounge doorway and looked at the stranger who was seated on the sofa with a group of tough looking men around him. "Who the Hell are you?" he asked, still tense from his mother being shot. Conor placed his hand to his gun, ready to react if needed.

When James got out of his car, he walked over to help Finn get Shannon out of the vehicle. Something seemed a little off around the place but James couldn't pinpoint it and questioned if it was just his paranoia kicking in. With the others there to help Shannon, he caught up with Conor and kept close by. David's car was parked up but the man wasn't by the front the door, so he must have gone inside to get a drink or use the bathroom. The man in his place was one Kane Anders had brought over to the Sullivans side with him and the guy had proved to be a useful man to the family, so his presence outside the house was normal. James was close behind Conor at the time they entered the house and already had his own gun in his hand from the moment he realised something wasn't right. It was also a little odd that Lady hadn't come rushing to greet him...

Aidan smirked as Conor commented on Fhim being a hard worker and his brother being lazy. "I try, I try." He replied with as his eyes glanced out the window to see blaring red and blue lights following them. Conor gave him a gun, asking him to hide it. Aidan quickly stuffed it into the pocket of his jacket just before the police officer approached them.

He watched as Conor got out of the car and conversed with the police officer. It would be a few minutes until Cnor would hop right back into the front seat of the car. He raised an eyebrow as Cono informed him that someone had told fibs to the authorities. "Well, that stinks." He stated.

Aidan turned to Conor as asked him out for drinks at the Emerald. "I would be down for drinks." Aid said, taking him up on his offer.

However, when they got to the pub, the cops had informed the two that Shannon had been shot and was wounded. When Aidan entered the pub with Conor, he saw James, Lucy, Finn, Maggie and his aunt Shannon.
He walked with Conor towards them. "Hey aunt Shan. I'm glad to see you're okay." He spoke, quite relieved that his aunt was wounded but still very much alive.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After returning to the Sullivan home, there was a strange eerie feeling about it. However, Aid couldn't put his finger on it. Aidan was walking behind Conor as thee walked into the house. He went with him to the kitchen to retrieve a few things for Shannon. Noticing that Conor stopped, Aidan turned his head to see the group of strange men sitting on the couch.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?' He spoke, eyes narrowing. shoved his hand in this right pocket of his jacket, ready to pull out his gun if necessary.

Athena Archer

The young woman looked at Leo, "It's okay Leo. It's already beginning to fade." The girl spoke with a assuring tone in her voice, not wanting the young man to worry any longer about her.
Athena smiled as Leo complimented her on her singing.

When Athena answered the door to let Alex in, she smiled and gave the long-time friend a quick hug before letting her in. When Alex ha= greeted Leo, it seemed that she noticed his bruised eye. She questioned what happened to his face. Athena bit her bottom lip in worry, watching as Leo explained the whole ordeal to Alex. Thena looked towards Alex when he finished.
"Please don't tell Vinnie, Lex."

But her fears were relived when Alex promised the two that she wouldn't say a word to the man. She sighed softly, relieved.

Athena glanced at Alex when she asked then if they got a good look. Alex shook her head "Not really. They were wearing black face masks. I did hear a bit of an accent from one of them though." Thena answered.

Everything had gone too fast for Carrick to understand what was happening. First he had been coming down from his room, walking on the lounge than James had come out of nowhere in a rush, calling out for him as if something had happened. When he had seen Finn taking out the bullet from his mother after they had arrived at the pub, Carrick had stood there still, not knowing what to do. After so much happening to the family, it was like his mind had completely shut down, everything that he had done was automatic. He had helped Finn get his mother to her room, but after that, it was as if everything had stopped for him. Nothing could be seen in his line of sight except his mother. He had been such a fool to think that after everything that happened, after they had mourned the death of his father, that everything would be alright. But now, it was just like Carrick world was crushing down. He had been a fool, but now, it was tike for him to end his charade of trying to stay as the good guy.

Nikolai Kuznetsov

IMG_0871.JPG

Nikolai was seated in the sofa chair in the middle of the Sullivan household. The rather strong man reclined in the seat, proving to be more than comfortable. He held a cigarette in his hand, periodically looking to the clock while he waited. Two Russian guards waited next to him, loosely holding submachines. Kane would also be there, behind Nikolai as well. When the door finally opened, Nikolai decided to extinguish his cigarette in the ashtray beside him. He then blew the remainder of the smoke out of his mouth.

The family wouldn't be able to fully see Nikoali, due to most of the lights being shut off. Instead, they'd only see the silhouette of the man. He remained seated as he addressed them. "Eventful night?" he asked. One of the guards moved for the rum bottle in the alcohol display, pouring a generous glass. They moved back to Nikolai, handing it to him. Nikolai looked up and received the glass. As he turned his head back to the family, the light revealed more of Nikoali, a scar becoming apparent under his left eye. The man's face remained cold and serious. "Conor," he said, narrowing his eyes on him. "Come take a seat." He motioned his glass to the available seat in the main room.

Magdeline looked to her side up at Connor, her lips in a pressed smile. With a nod she turned back to her brother, and tilted her head. For a moment before she was rushing to her own car, she fussed over Finn, making sure he too was alright, and checking him for any cuts. It was much to his annoyance, but Maggie could care less in that moment. He had been shot at for christ's sake.

Upon arriving back at the house, Maggie was first to park. And first to leave her car. She surveyed the front of the house with a mild tilt of her head, again. Something wasn't quite right. The cars didnt quite add up. David's car was present, and yet he wasn't. She quite liked him~ She set aside her spark of interest to assist her cousins and brother in getting her aunt into the house. The flurry kept her attention off of the living room. By her aunts bedside, on the opposite side to Carrick, Maggie looked over at him. She could see the anger boiling, and she could already see him breaking. "She's going to be okay Carrick...Don't let this break you~." She would only speak more if she was acknowledged. Now, she was trying regardless. There was no point in giving advice to someone who didn't want to compute with your words. If she could offer her cousin any support, she would. He had lost his father, and became ever so close to losing his mother tonight too. She would never wish for her cousins to lose what her and her brother already lost. It had been hard enough on them when her uncle passed.
Maggie's head turned towards the door for a moment, certain she heard unfamiliar voices downstairs. She didn't have the best advantage from the room they were in; everything was muffled. She was unbeknownst to the scene downstairs, but would find out soon enough what kind of a stranger had sat himself in their lounge. Then, with her eyes back on Carrick, a thought hit her. Lady had not welcomed a single soul when they entered the home.

Conor Sullivan and James Porter
ccc-png.356444
untitled-png.356819

Conor and James looked to the man seated in the middle of the main lounge, noting the two armed men by his side and, surprisingly, Kane standing comfortably behind Nikolai. "Keep calm," James quietly muttered so only Conor could hear him. The Sullivan boss was already wound up by what had happened to his mother, so he needed to keep himself in check. The submachine guns two of the men were holding made it clear to James that this wasn't a good time for rash movements, so he calmly placed his gun back in the holster to show he wasn't about to start shooting the guests.

When the Russian man spoke up, Conor pulled a displeased face. "Eventful as ever," he flatly replied. Conor's eyes fixed on Kane for a moment, quite annoyed and potentially betrayed if this was as serious a situation as it appeared. The strong-looking Russian man then addressed Conor by name and told him to take a seat. It grated on Conor being told to sit down in his own home, but this was his home and he knew better than to risk his family by reacting before assessing the men before him.

James remained standing behind Conor's chair, ready to intervene if needed. He caught Kane's eye and sent him a questioning glare. "David and the dog are fine," Kane simply told him, knowing exactly what the Irishman was thinking. Kane then looked away and stood with his arms behind his back as he observed the current meeting.

Conor looked Nikolai in the eyes, seeing if he could see any intentions within the the scarred man. "I don't believe we have business with each other and I certainly didn't request your presence. What is the meaning of this?" he asked, controlling his tone so as not to sound threatened or aggressive. Really, Conor's natural state was becoming an aggressive one these days.

Maggie had made sure to fuss over poor Finn but he wasn't having it, after brushing off her concerns the young man fell into an unusual silence. His thoughts consumed him for a while imagining all sorts of possibilities as to why this had happened tonight. After the car came to a stop at the house, James helped him get her out of the car before leaving him and the others to go find Conor. Lucy looked to Shannon and down at her wound. "I think it would be better to have Finn pick you up mum." She commented, not wanting to pull or put tension on anything on her injured side. Finn didn't hesitate to scoop her up into his arms.

Lucy had saw the microscopic change in James' expression and knew that something wasn't right. So she carefully walked beside Finn and helped him guide her mother into the house and up the stairs. Lucy stayed at the bottom of the stairs and watched Finn carry her mother up to the room before she turned to address the tension in the house. A deep voice with an accent she seemed to recognize fairly well could be heard coming from the lounge. Lucy's hands went to the gun in her bag and she quickly transferred it into her coat pocket before realizing that Lady had not walked up to her once, or even barked. Her face paled as she wondered what the hell the intruder did with her dog before taking large strides towards the lounge, stopping just outside the entryway. Her eyes saw the outline of a man and a few others but not much else. It took all her strength to not forcefully ask where her dog was. But the panicked look was evident in her face as she heard the man tell her brother to sit. However, the relief could be heard in a soft sigh coming from her lips as she heard both David and Lady were okay.

The face she hadn't expected to see was Kane's and she could help but feel betrayed by the man. He must have been apart of these men's mission. Same accents and all. Lucy remained where she was, not wanting to sit and be directly seen.

Finn had carried his Aunt up the stairs with the help of Carrick and towards the room, he too had felt something was very off from the moment he arrived and wasted no time getting his injured Aunt into the safety of her room. Biting his lip, he placed her down on the bed quickly before moving to grab her pain killers and water. After providing her with those things, he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead he looked to Carrick and Maggie hoping the pair would stay upstairs and watch her while Finn went to help his cousin and James. "Stay here...until someone comes and get's you." He looked to them both raising an eyebrow wondering if they would challenge him before turning and heading down the stairs.

He stayed silent as he found Conor, Lucy, Aidan and James staring at a figure who was covered by mostly darkness, staying a bit farther back from the lounge, he quietly observed.

Nicolo Romano
Nick-Jonas-2016-Press-Shot-3-Photo-Credit-Yu-Tsai-1-360x360.jpg

Nicolo knew she was right that it was only a matter of time before she was targeted. Being aligned with the Romano's and going on dates with him would have made her a target but he still wasnt happy about it. He decided to let it slide, trying to hold back the anger that he felt about her being hurt. If he hadnt off left the meeting when he did, or if he had off gone home before going to hers then there was a high chance that Olivia would have died.
"Yeah it has to be some sort of trap so we'll plan it carefully" he said in a serious tone before a playful twinkle appeared in his eye as he tried to lighten the situation "or I could go in all guns blazing and end up here with you" he looked around the room, a smile forming on his face "It'd be cozy with two beds in here" .
He laughed when she agreed with his joking and slightly shook his head "I know you too well" . A genuine smile took over his lips when she mentioned going for dinner "as soon as you get out of here, you'll be brought out to dinner and treated like a queen" he told her. He attempted to put a playful tone in his voice, however it was obvious that he really meant that statement.

Shannon Sullivan
shhh-png.356446

Finn had carried Shannon upstairs and onto her bed. Her head was propped up by the pillows underneath, allowing her to look to those still present in the room. She managed a smile for her nephew as he helped her take the painkiller and then he kissed her forehead. "Thank you, sweetheart," she told Finn. He was such a gentle young man and she was so proud of everyone; her own kids, nephews and niece. She couldn't help but wish Sinead had picked a different day to spend time with her friend as she would have liked to reassure her youngest daughter she loved her whilst she knew she still could.

She turned her head to one side and gazed towards Carrick. She could see him in a trance of sorts, looking in her direction as heavy thoughts were clearly clouding his mind. She then heard Maggie's reassuring words to Carrick. "Maggie is right," she told him. She closed her eyes to try ease her nausea and block the heavy pain radiating around one full side of her body, the centre of it all being where the bullets had ripped through her flesh. "I'm still here, aren't I?" she asked, her eyes still closed. "Leave the worrying to the others. You, Maggie and Sinead, stay out of this," she suggested. She knew that was easier said than done, but she didn't want more people to get involved and hurt because of this war.

Maggie gave her attention to Finn as he rose from giving their aunt a kiss; it made her smile lightly. A look of indignation quickly washed over her features however at his command, but Maggie simply bit her lip with a nod and watched him leave the room, extremely hopeful whatever was happening downstairs didn't mean more trouble for their family. "I have a bad feeling about this~' "Be careful Finn." At his leave, she turned back to her aunt and cousin, and careful not to make any unnecessary noise, picked up the only two chairs in the room and placed one on each side of Shannon for her and Carrick to sit. Maggie took her seat, allowing herself to relax slightly, eyes on Shannon with a small smile again. She had hoped her aunt would affirm her words. Carrick would concentrate on the truth in his own mothers reassurances, just like she once did with her own. Maggie glanced up at Carrick for a moment as she listened to Shannon's request for them. Even though she wished she had, when Maggie nodded lightly and replied, 'We will. It's a promise,' she didn't trust her own words like she should have. She would try though, for her own sake as well as others. She had plenty to live for.

It was clear Nikolai did not expect to be disobeyed, as he showed no emotion once Conor took a seat. The sky light would make the Sullivans entirely visible, however, Nikolai would still be mostly invisible, even to Conor. "I understand we have not met. Although, the Russian Mafia does not require an invitation." Conor would now be aware of how serious this situation was. The Russian Mafia was not like the Romanos or any crime family in Chicago. They are, to this day, international and as dangerous as it gets. "We have been informed by Kane that you are a respectable family. My boss has no intentions to interrupt your business or cause harm to your family. We have been working in Chicago for a decade and have stayed quiet about your war with the Romanos. Despite the fact that it disrupts business and scares off potential customers, we assumed you two could work it out. For awhile it appeared you had. This, however, is no longer the case."

He reclined in his chair, sipping his beverage. "We were immediately informed about the shooting and we've decided we've had enough. We will help you permanently dispose of the Romano family, in exchange for partial control of your alcohol shipments. We will control a fair amount, but not to the point of theft. Plus, we are doing this in exchange for the extermination of exasperating pest."

Leo was relieved when Alex agreed she wouldn't tell Vinnie about what had happened. He then listened as Athena mentioned the men were wearing masks. "I honestly couldn't tell you what accent it was," he added. He doubted the accent mattered conclusively, regardless. He knew both the Sullivans and Romanos had gang members of many nationalities, even if they were primarily Irish and Italian, respectively.

"So, Alex..." Leo began, flashing a smile as he decided to lighten the tone. "Where is your mystery boyfriend? I was looking forward to finally meeting him," he told her. "Are you ashamed of your friends, huh? You haven't told us a thing about him and I want to know this guy is right for you," he kindly told her.

Olivia looked at Nicolo's face, feeling beyond grateful that he'd shown up when he had last night. She'd been about to sneak over to his house to surprise him and had picked a rose especially for him, right before being attacked by the man who stabbed her. She remembered the message he gave her, but she knew the Romanos would have known this was the Sullivans, regardless of whether she'd survived long enough to pass it on. She now remembered calling out for help but nobody answered her pleas. Her neighbourhood was in a quiet area and the snow only added to the peacefulness, but that night it had merely served to make everything seem eerie and lonely. In the silence, she'd struggled back to the front door, clutching at her abdomen and being unable to turn the key int he hole. That was when she'd collapsed and couldn't muster up the energy to get back up. She knew if it wasn't for Nicolo, she would have died. She had no family who would have called in to check on her that night and Vinnie never went by her house, in order to protect her identity. She supposed she wouldn't have to hide her loyalties anymore, at least.

"Oh, I'd love a roommate in here," she said, as he joked about joining her in hospital. "Like a queen, huh? I've never been treated like a queen before," she said, sending him a gentle smile. It felt good to have someone genuinely care for her in this way. She reached her hand out, trying to find his.

Conor was about to make a sarcastic remark to Kane about flicking the switch to the floor lamp near to the Russians when Nikolai went ahead and revealed he was part of the Russian Mafia. Conor sat up straight, realising just how severe this situation was. As far as he knew, he'd never been involved with or crossed their paths, but when did gangs need much excuse to start shit? Upon hearing Kane had informed the Russians that the Sullivans were a respectable family, Conor wasn't sure what to make of him. On one hand, Kane had apparently spoken well of the family, but on the other he had clearly betrayed them somewhere down the line. Nikolai spoke of the war with the Romanos and how it was disrupting things for the Russians. Conor wouldn't take blame for that, not when his family had kept things peaceful whilst the Italians had gone ahead and shot his mother.

When Nikolai cut to the chase and revealed his intentions, James folded his arms and glanced over his shoulder to see what Lucy was making of this. He then looked back towards Nikolai, trying to gauge if the man appeared genuine or not. He didn't trust him, but James didn't trust most people. He certainly wasn't sure if it was a good idea to hand over a huge chunk of control over their alcohol. Many of the Sullivans businesses, whether pubs or restaurants, relied heavily on those supplies. Conor was the boss and James knew it would look bad on him if he were to speak up so soon, so he remained silent and waited for the younger man to respond.

Despite Nikolai continuing to sit in poorer lit conditions, Conor sat forward and met the whites of the man's his with his own stare. "I'm perhaps as surprised as you are concerning the sudden disruption of peace. What happened this evening was unprovoked," he assured the man. "Controlling any amount of my alcohol shipments is a very big ask, you must already realise." Conor thought over the the offer of helping to wipe out the Romanos. Whilst it would be beneficial for the Sullivans to have the Russian Mafia on side, Conor couldn't trust that to be the end of their dealings and he certainly wasn't sure why they were offering to help. "I'm aware of how much power the Russian Mafia holds... That's why I'm a little confused," he began, choosing his words a little more carefully than his gut reaction would usually dictate. "If the Romanos are causing you this much trouble, why don't you dispose of them yourselves? I don't believe the help of my respectable family is needed, nor is it beneficial to you."

Nikolai appeared to be distracted once Conor started to speak, looking to one of his guards and speaking in Russian. He placed the glass on the side table, before contorting his head. This caused a sickening cracking sound to erupt from his neck, causing him to grunt lightly. Nikolai then leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, and inched closer to the skylight. The ray of white glistened off of his deep, red scar. His face appeared to be deathly serious, taking Conor's concerns into little consideration. It was obvious this man didn't have the slightest sense of humor. He rested his face inches from the man, his green eyes staring into Conor's. "We could burn both of your estates to the ground and take over your businesses over night, if we wanted. That, however, is not what we're here for. We don't need to control all of Chicago, we leave the crumbs for the worms.

His head tilted as his nostrils flared, clearly running out of patients. "We simply need Chicago to be a calm environment for our businesses to prosper. I have no desire to gun down crime families and dirty my bullets. I'll let you take care of the Romanos and i'll simply be here to assist if needed. Now, i'd be wasting resources if I didn't receive something in return. So you either hand over a portion of your alcohol trade to us and we'll supply you, or we'll kill you both and reduce your establishments to rubble. Don't take my generosity for granted. I'll let you decide."

Sinead stuffed the gun into her coat pocket before turning the corner to walk up the driveway towards the front door. There seemed to be more vehicles parked up than normal and even the perfectionist James hadn't exactly parked up straight this evening. When she reached the front door, she gave a pleasant smile to the guard standing there, but he merely responded with a moody grunt. Some of the guys working for Conor weren't exactly friendly, she thought. As she hung up her coat and removed her shoes, she heard the voices coming from the lounge. She approached the room, with its open door, and was about to enter when she heard the back end of Nikolai mentioning his generosity. She changed her direction completely and instead headed upstairs. Sinead recalled Conor telling the family that business talk was banned from the family rooms of the house, but it appeared he'd thrown that rule out of the window. She shook her head and decided it would be better to just stay away from those conversations for tonight.

As she passed her mother's bedroom, Sinead noticed the door was open halfway. She bit her lip before deciding to enter the room and see her. Sinead might often seem like she's in her own world, but she could read her family very well and she knew how sad her mother was. When she stepped inside, Sinead saw Maggie and Carrick sat at either side of Shannon's bed, with her mother having just fallen asleep. Sinead glanced to Carrick before deciding Maggie would prefer to answer her. "Maggie? What''s going on?" she worriedly asked, surprised to see people sat around her mum's bed.

Lucy bit her lip forcing herself to keep her mouth shut as the Russian spoke with Conor. She had to remind herself that although she was the older sister, it had nothing to do with the business. Especially if she were to try and speak to this man, being a woman who questioned him would most likely turn offensive and cause trouble. She caught James' eyes as he glanced back to her for a brief moment, offering him a serious expression to tell him that she wasn't comfortable with what was going on. She could see that he felt the same way, still tense and not trusting the men who sat in their lounge without permission.

Things took a serious turn and as the man sat closer to Conor revealing that he could burn down both estates and destroy both families, making Lucy shift forward a bit, a hand still holding the cool metal of the gun inside her coat. She knew it wouldn't help much if a gun fight were to ensue, seeing the larger weapons his henchmen carried. Still didn't hurt to stay on guard. Footsteps behind her revealed that Finn stepped closer as well. The way he felt about all this was clear on his face. He stopped a little bit behind Lucy and stayed silent, waiting to hear what his cousin would say, waiting to see if he would have to reel him back into control.

When Nikolai moved closer, the light allowed Conor to take a better look at the man's face and notice the scar etched into his skin. It was clear this man was serious, so Conor held back the humour and charm he was known for, figuring it would be a waste of both their time. The Russian brought his face just inches from Conor's, to which the young Irishman took as an aggressive move, one intended to intimidate. It was only the knowledge of the armed men and the presence of his loved ones that stopped Conor from challenging this man. Perhaps even the way he was having to have years worth of growing and experience shoved into his head over the space of a few months. Nikolai then made it clear he could take over both the Sullivans and the Romanos pretty quickly, but apparently that wasn't his intention.

James remained stone-faced as he watched the interaction. He knew Conor hated it when people got in his face, so he was bracing himself to have to intervene at any moment. To stop Conor from reacting and attacking the dangerous Russian. He was grateful that moment didn't seem to come and Conor appeared to have a handle on his anger, for now. James had been like Conor when he was younger, but then he ended up in jail, tortured, beaten and kicked into shape. After those hard lessons, James had learned to reign in his impulsive nature and control his aggression. He hoped Conor was starting to adopt the same skills and he definitely hoped he'd disabled that switch that hadn't triggered in his head since the haunted house drama at Halloween.

"It appears we have something in common, at least. I also want a calm environment where I can focus on business. It's all any of the Sullivans want..." Conor stumbled a little, as if concentrating on something. "We seem to have bypassed the introductions. I never got your name and I feel I should know that information when discussing business like this." Although his tone momentarily shifted casual, Conor's face remained deadly serious to mirror Nikolai's. Conor sat back, but maintained eye-contact with the Russian. "Well, my hands are tied here and we all know it! You already know the Romanos are now back on my list of priorities since the stunt tonight. So now I need to know how big a portion of the alcohol trade you're talking."

Maggie, for now, relaxed in her only slightly uncomfortable chair beside her aunt. Not exactly focusing on what was happening downstairs, but still aware. She played with her fingers, in particular the ring on her right hand, eyes casting over her aunt or Carrick every few seconds. She watched, happy, as her aunt ever so slowly drifted off into the deep sleep she deserved. The sudden arrival of Sinead pulled her out of her own deep thoughts however, and made her jump, body turning towards her cousin. "Sinny..." She bit her lip, eyes glancing momentarily at Carrick before she spoke. She hated this. Maggie stood up to take Sineads hands comfortingly and kept her voice low, in hopes it would disturb her aunt less. "Her and Finn were attacked outside The Emerald. I didn't know what was happening till I made it to the pub, but she got hit. She's okay though, she's fine; just in pain. She needs rest.... Finn got the bullet's out of her and stitched her back up~ we all got her here not long ago..." She searched Sineads face for the next few moments. "We don't know who did it~."

As soon as Maggie said her name, Sinead knew for sure something bad had happened. Her cousin held her hands, which naturally made a lump form in her throat. She was then told her mother and Finn had been attacked, with her mother being shot. Sinead stood speechless for a moment, her mouth open as she struggled to get any words out. She looked to her mother for a moment, her eyes sad and worried, then back to Maggie. "We all know who did this. I can't believe they would try to kill mum too, wasn't killing my dad enough?" She wanted to hug Shannon and tell her how much she loved her, but she knew she couldn't wake her while she was resting. "It's about time someone put a bullet in Vinnie Romano. Why is he even still alive?" she angrily asked. Sinead was shocked by her own words and the fact she meant them. It was likely Maggie would be surprised too. Considering everything that had happened over the months and being told to use a gun from three of the main men in her life, it shouldn't have surprised Sinead so much.

Maggie's forehead creased slightly with worry. She didn't know at all why, but she felt a guilt rising in her, standing in front of Sinead, watching her start to break apart like Carrick was. She wished she could do something, anything, but she couldn't. Maybe that was were her guilt stemmed from. Maggie forced herself not to nod along to Sineads accusation. She bit her lip instead. It was a crazy world they lived in, it could have been anyone else. Anyone. Maggie almost continued speaking, had Sinead aggressive words not left her. For a moment, Maggie couldn't believe what she had heard from the kind soul. Her limp grip on Sineads hands grew a little tighter, and she urged the young woman to look into her eyes. "You can't think like that Sinny. Anger will only make things worse~." She understood her cousin, completely. If she had known who was responsible for her parents death, she too would have a vendetta. But she would also want someone letting her know the reality of the situation, and that she wasn't alone. "If it was Romano. I know that not a single one of us is going to let him get away a second time.....just..don't be rash."

Sinead looked Maggie in the eyes and took took comfort from her cousin's tight grip. "Vinnie is a monster, Maggie. I've seen it with my own eyes and I've seen so much fallout from that man's evil." She pulled one hand away from her cousin's and touched the side of her head. "Ever since that man dragged me into this and I had to come home, everything has become worse. Just chipping away at us. Do you ever feel like you're being pulled apart and there's nothing you can do to stop it?" She smiled ever so slightly as she thought of Angel. "And in some ways, you don't want to stop it anymore? Because you've already gone too far."

Sinead snapped out of her gaze for a moment and frowned. "I realise now that in order to restore peace, sacrifices have to be made. Conor mustn't want to kill Vinnie, but he has to do it to protect his family. I won't tell him it's the wrong thing to do anymore. I understand now."

Lorenzo listened intently, taking note of the man’s tragic family accident. Those usually worked best. Especially if Vincenzo didn’t want him dead, but just a sliver away from it. Taking the last sip of his scotch, he set the glass down where he had retrieved it.

Nicolo will only watch then. I couldn’t agree more. And your request is close to death? I’ll gladly oblige, but don’t count him being wound-free..”

(sorry that’s real crappy, last busy day!)

Vinnie fell silent for a moment and shook his head. "My request is to get into his head, perhaps enough for him to want death, but not be physically on the verge of it. I expect you will show restraint where physical wounds are concerned, but I understand that some are to be expected. I want you to hurt him psychologically, because those wounds aren't so easy to fix."

Vinnie got up from his seat and finished off his drink. "I'll see if Angel can get Finn to you. It should only be a quick job for a man as skillful as him."
