Nicolo rolled his eyes and smirked as Leo and Athena joked about the misfortune of knowing the Romanos "you's are just jealous" he said in a joking manner. He listened to them talk as he scanned the bar to see if he recognised anyone else. When Athena mentioned finishing a novel, Nicolo turned his attention back to her with a smirk "no way Kid, your staying out with us while we show this guy how to have fun again" he said with a laugh as he nodded towards Leo. Nicolo took another drink and went to speak when a man approached them claiming to work for his father. Nicolo raised an eyebrow as he looked the man over trying to figure out who he was. Suddenly a smile found its way onto his lips as he shook his hand "Issac isnt it?" He questioned "nice to see you". As he was speaking, movement caught Nicolos eye and he turned to watch the beautiful woman walking over to table on her own. He made eye contact and gave her a small nod and a charming smile and vowed that he would approach her as soon as he thought Leo was comfortable enough.

Alexandra faked a pout for a few seconds before laughing "yeah I'll forgive you this time, but next time you wont be so lucky". Alex listened carefully as he spoke, she was worried about him especially after what he had gone through. Lack of oxygen to the brain can lead to serious problems and she was scared that he wasnt actually recovering. "Have you seen a doctor?" She asked him, the concern clear in her voice. She laughed when he mentioned how long he's been sober yet it wasnt a fully sincere laugh, the worry still came accross. "A whole week, how is that possible" she faked shock as she spoke "I couldnt do that, I could just about last a few hours". Alex laughed but her minf wandered to how much she genuinely drank and she tried to figure out when the last time she had gone a day without alcohol was

When Athena told Nicolo she had nothing planned other than reading a novel, Leo's eyes may have appeared to light up. It wasn't just because she had no plans, but the fact her answer suggested she was into reading, something he had always enjoyed despite his father telling him to get his head out of the books and learn to fight, when he was younger. "I agree with Nicolo. You should stay out with us," Leo told her. "You can tell me - and Nicolo - about the book you're reading," he suggested.

Leo watched with interest as Isaac approached and introduced himself to Nicolo, or rather, they remembered each other. He wondered if this was the moment where they started talking business, though he'd expect it would be done more privately as they were in the presence of a nice young lady. Leo then followed Nicolo's gaze as the attractive woman sat at a table by herself. He caught the looked his friend gave the stranger and couldn't help but smile. "Don't hold back on my account. Go speak to her," he quietly told Nicolo.

Leo would then bring his attention back to Athena and Isaac. "Isaac," he began, having heard Nicolo used the man's name, "I'm Leo. I also work for Vinnie... at the Grand Hotel."

James gave Lucy a playfully suspicious look as she said she knew somewhere they could go. "A drive? I love driving, so there's no arguments from me," he told her. "So where do you have in mind? Or is it a surprise?" he asked, figuring she would be able to direct him if it was the latter. "Is Lady joining us?" he curiously asked, not even realising how many questions he was firing off. He put his jacket on, winching slightly as the movement pulled at the awkwardly positioned wounds that were still healing on his collar bone. He then grabbed his car keys and wallet before stepping outside wit Lucy. He locked the front door and checked the handle a couple of times just to be sure. He then checked around his car before unlocking the doors and opening the passenger door for Lucy to get in. He got into the driver's seat and started the engine. Before setting off, he reached out and gently squeezed Lucy's hand. "You're the boss, love," he told her.

Conor shrugged his shoulders when Alex asked if he'd seen a doctor. "I saw your old man's doctor, remember?" he told her, referring to Vinnie having him treated at the butchers. "I've just been resting since and trying to be patient until I fully recover," he told her. "The pain in my head and ribs is lessening as the days go on," he assured her. Though he figured it was the symptoms which weren't causing pain that she was referring to. "I'm still walking and talking. There's nothing to worry about," he added.

"I have no idea how it's possible. I think you and I both have drinking problems," he told her. To which, he then knocked back the remaining half of his pint in one go. "My problem is I'm not drinking fast enough," he said, catching his breath.

Isaac
Smiling back at Nicolo, Isaac turned his attention towards the Leo with a slight greeting nod of his head.
"Grand Hotel, huh? I've never been, too rich for my blood. Good to meet you, Leo." Isaac greeted simply, offering the same courtesy handshake toward Leo. "I do odd jobs for the Romano's from time to time, whatever they throw at me. I just figured I'd come say hello since it feels like a lifetime since I've heard from your pops." Isaac mentioned to Nicolo, hoping he would pick up the not so subtle hints he was dropping about wanting more work. Isaac set his beer down on the counter besides him as he looked Athena up and down, trying to make heads her tails of her. Just a performer, or another worker like he was himself?
"I don't think I've seen you before," Isaac addressed Athena, "You sounded good tonight, you got a real talent." Isaac complemented, nodding his head in affirmation. "Do you perform here regularly?" Isaac asked, trying to make small talk and get to know her.

Lucy laughed softly. James had suddenly turned on his child like wonder and began to ask a million different questions on where they were going. She was not about to reveal his surprise to him but she smiled and answered. "I think you will like it, an yes it is a surprise." She murmured before deciding that it was best for Lady to stay here. "She should be fine here." She told him before they walked out the door together hand and hand. Once in the car she instructed him down the right roads to get out of the city. The drive was a bit long but its scenery was absolutely lovely. After having him pull off towards a dirt path. She smiled. "We are here, just a small walk and we will be there." She said to him before getting out of the car.

The walk was short and sweet and upon arriving James would see a rather large lake, well hidden by the dense trees. "Ta da!" She smiled happily. "I figured we could look out at the stars for a bit, get out of those city lights. It really is hard to see them from there."

James was content to just drive with Lucy directing him. It was a peaceful drive with plenty of scenery for him to view and take in. Once they arrived near their destination, they were to walk the rest of the way. He got out of the car and locked it up, before taking Lucy's hand and walking with her. The walk wasn't as long as he expected and once they were there, he saw the large lake and smiled.

"I don't think I've seen Lake Michigan from this point before. I love your choice," he told her. He looked to her face and saw her happy smile beneath the moonlight. "You're right, the city buries the beauty too much," he said, looking up to the stars for a moment. He scanned the area before letting go of Lucy's hand so he could place his arm around her shoulder instead. "Would you happen to know of a good spot for us to lay back and gaze at the stars?" he asked her.

Luca splashed some water on his face as he stare at himself on the mirror of the bathroom stall. It wasn't until just recently that he awoke and it also didn't help that he had trouble sleeping, mostly because he hadn't slept or just slept for an hour or two, usually ransacking some minor stores that either belonged to the Romano's or to their allies. Sure it didn't look like it was much that him and his helper took, but It was enough, after all, now he had enough alcohol for him to drink. He sighed before leaving the bathroom, heading toward the kitchen to cook himself something to eat, maybe something for Kate too, just in case she was hungry. Now that he though about it, today had been the first day in a while that he had slept a lot, maybe he really needed some good rest after all.

Athena let out a sigh as Nicoclo refused on letting her not stay out for the night. The girl actually wasn't that big on the night-life. But, she guessed she would be willing to stay out to teach Leo on how to have fun as Nicolo put it. Her attention turned to Leo as he spoke to her. He mentioned on staying out and telling the two about the book she was reading. Just at the mere mention of that, there was a twinkle in her eye. She loved talking about books and everything that had to do with the reading activity.
"Well, I guess I'll stay out with you guys." She spoke gently.

She watched as Nicolo and the man who she now knew as Isaac conversed. It looked like they knew each other from Vinnie.
Athena noticed Nicolo turn his focus on a beautiful woman at a table. Not long after Leo urging him, she lightly nudged the young man, "Go." Athena whispered, a light smile playing on her lips.

Issac and Leo then went on to converse with one another. Afterwards, the stranger turned his attention towards her.
The young woman caught Issac looking her up and down. She raised an eyebrow in confusion. Was something on her face? Athena reached up lightly to touch her face but nothing was there. Hm.

The man complimented her on her performance. "Thank you very much." Athena said, gratefully thanking him.
He then went on to ask if she performed at the bar regularly. Thena gave a small nod, "Yes, I perform here pretty often." Athena answered, giving him a friendly smile.

By this time, her glass of lemonade was empty, so she set it on the bar counter.

Lucy was pleased that he liked the spot that she chose for them to look up at the stars. Secretly, Lucy was quite the little astronomer, always tracking stars and reading up about the theories of what they were and such. There was even theories that in the future they would be able to send men up to walk on the moon. It seriously fascinated her more than it probably should. But in this case, it was perfect because she knew just the place.

"This way!" She said happily and leaned into him as he wrapped his arms around her shoulder. She led him down the long shore towards a lifted part of the land. It was a small cliff area that her and her friends would always sit on top of, sometimes jumping down into the water for a swim and such. Carefully they climbed up to the top and from the view James would be able to see a lot of the lake and the most importantly, the stars.

"Right here." She informed him before moving to take a seat in the grass. "Its a nice place to be alone, you know?"

Vinnie noticed that Fortuna didn't order an alcoholic drink, but he wasn't about to judge her for it if getting drunk wasn't her thing. At least he could be sure she'd always be alert. "Going back to what I mentioned before, now that we're alone. I've arranged for us both to have a meeting over at Aces Casino. I'm going to offer to buy them out and I believe my offer is a generous one. Despite that, I'm not confident they're going to be so quick to agree, which means we'll have to take up more persuasive methods until they do accept my offer."

Vinnie straightened his tie as he took another sip from his glass. "I should also update you on a couple more things. The explosives were successfully received last night and are currently being stored safely until they can be moved before Monday." The bombs and chemicals he'd received had been pretty expensive, but he already had buyers in mind who would pay a high enough price for Vinnie to make a fine profit. "Also, Sandro Davide has another weapons shipment coming in this weekend," he told her, referring to Leo's father. "I'll be making sure he has a couple of men to help him out with that," he informed her. After the Azarolas had their last shipment seized by the cops, no thanks to Emmet and James getting in the way, Vinnie wasn't involving the Azarolas again.

Kate Henderson

Kate hadn't spoken much to Luca or any of the Sullivans about the things she knew about the Romanos. She thought she was being respectful to the friendship she'd once has with Vinnie, before he'd decided he wanted to give her a choice and then want her dead when she made the wrong choice. She'd been asked to tend to James and Lucy when they returned home from being tortured last week. Conor hadn't let her near him, out of pride more than anything, but she'd heard what Vinnie had done. It made her quite angry to know what had happened, grief or no grief. She began to care less about keeping any of Vinnie's secrets, especially as he wanted her dead anyway.

"I'd love some dinner," she told Luca when he offered. "You know how you're making dents in Vinnie's businesses? I might be able to help you make a bigger mark. I know where he gets his weapons shipments brought into, after the Azarolas' failure forced him to change the location. He doesn't have a clue I know about it, if that's what you're worried about."

James let Lucy lead him down the shore. Though he was relaxed and happy, there was still the niggle in the back of his mind telling him to remain cautious. That was something that never left his mind, no matter how safe an environment he was in. When they were at the top of the cliff area, James looked over the edge of the cliff to the lake down below. He then looked out across the water and then up above to the clear sky that was filled with stars. He couldn't help but smile to himself. James didn't get to leave the city very often and when he did he was usually confined to his car. He'd not been able to appreciate the stars like this before.

He sat on the grass beside Lucy and smiled to himself as he absorbed how peaceful everything felt. He was even able to let the thoughts of his next risky job and the worries for the Sullivans escape his mind for the time-being. "This is a perfect, Lucy," he softly told her. He put his arm around her again and rested his head against hers. "Even my thoughts aren't crowding me now we're here," he admitted. "It's just us."

Lucy was so pleased to hear that even his thoughts of everything that had and might happen were gone. That's exactly what he needed. Her own mind did not wonder to the dangers of what the Romano's would do next, instead she smiled lightly when he leaned his head against hers. "I use to sneak out here after curfew sometimes when I was 16. There was a whole year where I just came here by myself....now I realize how stupid that was." She chuckled lightly. "But I couldn't get over how peaceful and different everything was from the life I was living." She sighed and didn't say anything more about it. Of course, she came here with friends but she stopped going by herself after that year.

She was glad that she had someone she could share it with, someone who knew the struggle of being apart of the gang. She turned her head and watched him look up at the sky. Sighing contently, she turned back to the sky. "If you look slightly to the left....it kinda looks like a man holding a bow...that's Orion." She added softly. She stared up at it for a moment before turning back to James. "I love you." she murmured softly, always wanting to remind him that she does. "No matter what happens, its you and me together."

Nicolo smirked proudly as he watched Athena and Leo talk, It seems finding Leo a girl wasnt too hard after all. When Leo told him to approach the girl, Nicolo thought about it but didnt want to ditch his friend, that was until Athena also told him to go over. Nicolo took a sip of his drink and looked towards the woman before looking back at Leo, Athena and Isaac "I'll be back, maybe" he winked as he said maybe "so have fun". With thag Nicolo turned away from his friends and made his way over to the woman.
"I dont believe Ive seen you around before " he said with a charming smile as he put his hand on the spare seat beside her "may I?"

Leo grinned and nodded to Nicolo's comment about the hotel being rich. He returned the young man's handshake and gave him a friendly nod. "Believe me, the closest I get to being in the rooms is to check they've been cleaned properly," he remarked. Even in his decent job, he could never justify paying what it costs to actually stay in the hotel. Leo noticed Nicolo was now a little distracted by the lady he'd set his eyes on, so he offered the best he could to respond to Isaac. "Mr. Romano's wife died a few weeks ago, so he's been somewhat preoccupied lately. Although I did just leave him in the hotel bar and judging by his mood, I'd say he's likely to be busy again... with odd jobs," he explained. Leo wasn't entirely comfortable speaking about that side of Vinnie's business, especially not steering people into criminal activities themselves, but he knew that was the answer Isaac was seeking.

Leo watched on as Isaac and Athena spoke - he was glad Athena was going to stay out too. He noticed Isaac giving Athena a closer look as he spoke with her, but it was hardly surprising to him as she was very pretty. He finished up his drink as his eyes scanned aimlessly around the bar. He didn't expect Nicolo would be rejoining them any time soon, unless the lady had been giving off the completely wrong signals to his friend. He looked to the other two, waiting so he wasn't interrupting them. "Do you two need another drink?" he asked, lifting his own empty glass.

James listened as Lucy explained she used to sneak out on her own. "Tut, tut. That was very naughty," he teased her. He then did a rough calculation in his head. "I think I was just stealing shit for your dad or surviving in prison cells for punching people around that time. You certainly wouldn't have gotten far under my watch," he assured her, but kept the grin on his face. "But I get it. Seeing Sinead and Carrick over the last few years, I totally get the need you had to escape the family for a bit of peace."

James followed Lucy's attention to the left and looked to the stars as she told him the name of the constellation. "Orion, huh? You're too smart for me, Lucy. I never got much chance to learn about things like this," he told her. Most of the books he read were about mechanics or things useful to his work with the Sullivans. When Lucy told him again that she loved him, he felt himself sort of melt or crumble beneath her words. "I love you too. I'm always going to be here for you," he assured her. Though he wasn't crying or anything, a tear still managed to escape from each eye.

Nobody had cared for him like this before. Whilst he'd been close to his father, it hadn't been an affectionate relationship and he never did find out what happened to his mother, other than she'd left them. Growing up, he'd basically just told himself and others that his mother was dead.

Alex gave a half smile as he explained the pain was lessening, she didnt believe him but she knew better than to question him and push him to see a doctor. "That you are and Im glad, who else would I share my alcoholic ways with" she joked, trying to make the situation a little less serious. She still blamed herself for what had happened to him and rightly so since she had put him in the position to be captured. Alex snapped from her thoughts as he downed the rest of his pint and she couldnt help but laugh at his comment " I wont be able to carry you if you get intoxicated" she warned in a teasing tone "but then again if you keep sculling pints I could have you in the perfect position and have my wicked way with you" she winked before finishing her own drink. "Right this rounds on me" she said as she stood up, she gave him a little cursty before walking over to the bar, adding a little extra sway to her hips for his benefit. Alex ordered the next round and paid before bringing the drinks back to the table. She placed Conor's in front of him and took a drink of hers before placing it down on the table. She bit her lip before turning to face him "whats your favourite colour, whats your favourite food and whats your favourite animal?" She asked. Alex started this game of questions firstly to try and distract them both from their minds and secondly to find out more about Conor.

Lucy saw the tear and she frown. "Oh dear, James! I'm sorry!" She said quickly and moved to wipe the tear away with her thumb. Lucy shook her head and scolded herself mentally. Though as she thought about it, she knew that he wasn't crying because he was upset. She knew it was probably more of a happy type of tear. She blushed lightly and sighed. "Oh I always manage to mess moments like this up." She rambled on nervously.

She had never seen him show any type of emotion besides the small bits and pieces, so this was something completely new to her. Her eyes looked down at the ground and she thought about a way to cheer him up. "Hey! one of these time, we should come back here...and go swimming hmm?" Her eyes were full of concern as she looked into his own, tilting her head to the side. "A-are you alright?" She murmured gently, still extremely worried that she had somehow upset him in some sort of way.

"Well, you'd best start working out because someone has to carry me home," Conor remarked. "You already had your wicked way with me, I seem to recall. I'm sure I could go for more of that again," he teased. He was trying to joke if only to steer her away from persisting to question his health. When she got up to get another round in, he nodded and watched as she swayed her hips for his benefit. She knew what she was doing and so did he, but he wasn't about to fight the distraction. He needed something to take his mind away from all of the painful thoughts.

Conor thanked Alex and lifted his glass as soon as it was placed down, taking a quick drink from it. She then fired off some questions at him. The kind of normal questions they'd never really asked each other before. "I'm quite partial to green, seeing it most days at the pub, but I guess my favourite is blue. Food would be a nice fried breakfast - you know, bacon, sausage, eggs the full works! Animal would have to be a trusty dog. Like, a Labrador; a good size but loyal and friendly. How about you, Alex? Same questions..."

Conor shook his head slightly as Lucy began to apologise. He glanced down to her hand as she used her thumb to wipe the tear away "You haven't messed anything up, I promise. Just the opposite," he softly reassured her. He sighed as he sensed how nervous he'd made her, but she then swiftly changed the subject. "It would be pretty bloody cold swimming in there, but I'm game if you are," he told her. "I think you just want to get me out of my clothes," he teased her.

Lucy then looked him in the eyes and he could see she was concerned. He knew he wasn't out of the woods yet and she then asked him if he was okay. "I'm fine, Lucy. You're just showing me things I never thought I could have. I never thought I'd fall in love or that anyone could love me, in any form," he explained. "My old man was the only person who ever gave two shits about me and even he wasn't a champion of affection."

Lucy would have laughed at the part about him thinking she wanted his clothes off. As true as that may have been, now was not the time for that, at least until after he talked to her. When she heard his words, her heart broke. She couldn't ever understand how he felt. She had both of her parents, and as crazy as her family was, they had always loved her. James had grown up without much affection. She could hardly believe it. Who wouldn't love and care for this man? Was it his intimidating exterior that made people shy away? James had never been too intimidating to her. But that was because they had always had some sort of connection, like they had mentioned and talked about earlier.

It frustrated her that he had to live his life without those things, for they were very important in the development of a human being. But James definitely turned out fine without it. "I'm so sorry James." She whispered lightly. "I honestly could never imagine what you have gone through." She told him honestly. "And I know that I might never be able to understand some things, but I will always love and care for you. Even if this wasn't meant to be. You were first and foremost my friend. And I will make sure you are always loved and cared for from here on out." She promised him before planting a kiss on his nose.

Then her smile turned into a mischievous one, deciding that it was best to try and talk about the lighter subjects now. "Now, about those clothes....I mean, you gave me a peek when you changed your shirt that day." She winked at him and laughed.

Isaac
Isaac watched Nicolo walk off toward the other woman, chuckling to himself silently at his boldness. That was leadership confidence, something that Isaac commended. Isaac returned his attention back to Athena who was telling him that she did perform here regularly. Isaac still had his questions about her, like how she seemed so close to the Romanos, but figured if Nicolo could trust her than he could too.

"Well I just might have to come by here more often in that case. You sounded wonderful." Isaac said to Athena, giving her a friendly smile before picking his beer up off the counter and finishing it. Letting out a satisfied sigh, Isaac set the empty bottle back down on the counter. It was then that Leo told Isaac about Vinnie's wife. He almost could not believe it, while he had never met her personally, it still sounded like a death wish to murder the wife of arguably the biggest gangster in town. "That's truly awful. I have no doubt that Mr. Romano will find whoever did it and make them pay, assuming he hasn't already." Isaac said confidently. He had not heard anything about the murder, but knowing Vinnie this would definitely have been his top priority and Isaac was sure whoever did it had paid dearly. Isaac was silently for a moment before Leo offered him and Athena another drink, he gave Leo a smile. "Well, I never say no to free beer." Isaac joked, giving Leo a friendly pat on the back.

"It's okay, Lucy," James reassured her as she spoke. "I've had a shitty past, but I'm still here and the present is a much better place," he said, looking her in the eyes. "I mean, the memories and reminders will never go away, but that's all just a part of me now." He blushed when she continued to speak and kissed him on the nose. "I'll always love you too, Lucy. A few weeks ago, I would have never expected us to be together like this right now, but even then you brightened up my day. You're the best person in my life. And your family, I care a lot for them too. As long as I'm with you guys, I'll be happy. Mostly, as long as I'm with you," he said giving her a quick kiss on the lips.

Then, Lucy made a mishievious suggestion which made him chuckle. James being James, though, he wasn't actually sure if she was joking or not. "Wasn't a peek enough for you?" he asked, still laughing. "I mean, it's a little chilly out here, but I can more than handle it if you're after more than a peak," he replied. He wasn't against taking his top off, or anything else for that matter, but he genuinely wasn't sure if Lucy was teasing him.

Alex took another sip of her drink as he answered her questions. She smiled as she mentally remembered everything he said so she'd remember in the long run. If there was a them in the long run? Alex pushed this thought away and instead focused on Conor deciding that In the moments she was with him, she wasnt going to worry about the future or what could happen. When he returned the questions to her she bit her lip in thought. "Favourite colour I'd have to say is Black, goes with everything and Im a night person so it makes sense" she shrugged as she answered. "While a good fry up is essential most mornings, id have to say roast potatoes are my favourite, Oh or chocolate mmm melted chocolate on roast potatoes" she said the last bit out loud but more so to herself. She blinked away the thoughts of food after mentally reminding herself to try that new concoction of roast potatoes with chocolate sometime. "I love dogs but if I could have any pet I'd have a wolf, theyre so bad ass " she finished with a smile, her mind still slightly thinking about food and what she was going to eat later on. Suddenly a smirk took over Alex's expression "what age did you have your first kiss?" She asked.

Athena watched as Nicolo went to approach the woman sitting at the table. Her attention turned to the two men in her company. Leo and Isaac were discussing things she figured were business-oriented. Athena wasn't necessarily paying attention until Mr. Romano's late wife was mentioned. When she heard about the death of the woman, it shocked Athena. It still felt odd not seeing the kind woman around.
Athena turned to Issac, who again mentioned her talent and said he would have t come more often. She released a gentle smile. "Thank you again." Athena spoke softly. She pushed curly strand away from her eyes.

Her attention was averted when Leo asked the two if they wanted another drink, watching as his own glass was lifted "Oh, I'm fine. Not really thirsty." Athena answered. Afterwards, Issac accepted the offer, mentioning beer.

She looked at her hands, which were still covered by the black gloves.
Athena glanced around the bar. Her hand reached up to lightly twiddle with the pendant around her neck. Inside was a family picture, it was just one of the ways she still felt her father close by.
She looked up, her focus on Leo, "Um, do you still want to hear about the book I'm reading?" Athena questioned softly, hoping the answer would be yes. It was not often she came across others who shared her interests.

Fortuna nodded her head, drinking in the information she had been given. "I see." She took another sip of her drink. "Well then, is there anything you'd like for me to do?" She asked, placing the tall glass down onto the table as she turned what appeared to be expectant eyes towards her boss. While she appreciated the time off, she was never one to sit still for too long. It was something that stayed with her since her childhood, ever since she first ran away from the place she once called home. She never regretted doing it, though at times she wondered how her father and her younger siblings were doing in her absence.

Conor listened to Alex and couldn't help but chuckle a little to one of her answers. "Potatoes, huh? I think you're just saying that to mock me because I'm Irish," he joked. "Nah, I love potatoes too, so I hear you!" It was then that Conor realised he hadn't eaten much lately, nor had he been able to work out. He hoped he'd be able to get back to building his strength soon. When asked about her first kiss, his mind went blank for a bit before he managed to clearly remember. "I think I was ten. I was in my own little gang of scrappers back then. The girls loved a tough little fella like me," he told her.

"How about you, Alex? When was your first kiss?" he asked her. He imagined even then she'd have her father's watchful eye making such a thing difficult. "Other than drinking, what else do you enjoy doing on an evening?"

Leo smiled as Isaac complimented Athena's singing again. Then he spoke about Vinnie losing his wife and Leo slowly nodded his head. He couldn't really confirm those responsible had been dealt with by Vinnie, not if he wanted to still be breathing by the morning, and also not to speak about such things in front of Athena.

"One beer coming up," Leo told Isaac. When Athena said she wasn't thirsty, he simply nodded his head, not wanting to push her into accepting his offer. He didn't take long getting the drinks and soon returned, handing Isaac his pint and keeping the other for himself.

After drinking some beer and placing the glass down, Athena asked him if he still wanted to hear about the book. "Oh, the book?" he asked, briefly glancing to Isaac. "Yes, I'd love to hear about the book. Which book is it? Tell us about it," he enthused.
