Orikanyo Orikanyo kniightofspace kniightofspace jaydude jaydude if ya wanna arrange anything regarding the characters knowing each other, lemme know! From the looks of it, I'll be playing a wild magic sorceror. My character is gonna be a kenku child, a really upbeat pipsqueak with little common sense but an ungodly fast learner and a charm of his or her own. How about you guys?
Aww shit Kenku are adorable.

I got a fighter lined up, likely human for polearm master(I love me some pole arms and pointy sticks) whos largely a mercenary by trade but generally has a smile on his face and a love for his rather nice looking hat.

i'm playing a chaotic good halfling bard who's genuinely here for a laugh, mate. she's been travelling for a long time, just trying to make the world a better place basically, and just to enjoy the finer things in life.

Like I said before, I prefer point buy without baselines (so no starting with 8 across the board, more like fully deciding one's stats), but if we do go for rolls I'd prefer we at least get to choose to which stats each rolled number goes to.
That's usually how it goes. You roll and distribute how tou deem necessary.

The benifit of point-buy is more control.
The benifit of rolls is generally higher scores.

Chaotic neutral.
Hmmm... maybe at one point in their career your character got caught and thrown in jail. My character tries to bail them out (maybe you showed them kidness before or something to justify this) not knowing that your character already had an escape plan. The bribery ultimately fails, but now they get to meet again with your character having escaped by their own skill. Or we could have the bribery succeed and my charater ends up bailing yours out, possibility having a relationship of guilt or debt between the two of us.

Thoughts?

Liking the idea so far. What's your character's background gonna be?

I am playing a sorta knight in shining armour from faraway deserts. Warrior scholar is the closest description. So if anyone has an idea about their meeting and relationships, lemme know. I'm from a phone and have hard tome tagging

Oh? Anything special about that hat?

Bet they would love a good, happy, chirpy Kenku dancing to the beat! Maybe helping them refine their sounds even by playing them back with that amazing Kenku mimicry ;)

Are you asking the background mechanically or the backstory?

Was wondering about the possible circumstances behind our characters meeting before your character tries to help mine, and how my character might have helped yours.

Anyway, I'm off to bed now. Night all.

Otherwise the fact it's speacial to him and the fact it is a really nice hat. Not really.

Gonna be hard to justify a nice magic helm if that pops up, but hey, it's the dude's hat~!

...Also I gotta sya I dislike the auto adding of new posts to threads you on, damn well used thsoe notifs to tell me somebody did post >.<

Oh, yeah my character at that time would probably be working for this guy who uses children as a spy network. Really poor living conditions, but he's shady and influential and a lone child needs somebody.

Sweet dreams with a spoon of salt for flavor!

He could just not wear the helm. Hats be more important!

How old is this mercenary? Depending on that, it's possible he knew my character's parents before whatever may have happened to them.

well, hes... 30ish?

not to old, not to young, middle ground. And indeed, fashion>Functionality.

Sounds feasible. I did some math and found that to be about the equivalent of a 7 year old human, my character will be 4 years and eight months years old as a Kenku.

One idea that pops through my head is that maybe your hat was saved one day after getting blown by a mountain's wind or something similar. The saviors of the all-too-important item were none other than a certain Kenku family, ten years ago. Sometime later your character finds out they were atacked, comes to the rescue but is too late.

Now they meet my character, and the age at which my character lost their parents seems oddly similar to the one in which those Kenku died. So your character could start getting suspicions or even projecting that family onto my character. We could leave it up in the air whether it really was my character's parents or not though, build a little mystery.

Let me know what you think :)
