Magic Class


Aki specializes in the Dark Magic school. The sub-class she's most effective with is Illusions/Poisons and it's rather easy for her to reach into a person's mind and draw out their darkest fears. She uses this power to mentally torture her opponents driving them insane temporarily and sometimes even permanently.


Aki mainly uses Illusions to poison a person's mind rather than their physical body, she understands that without a stable mind, one cannot maintain a stable body either. On occasion she does however employ the use of actual, poisonous illusions such as objects or foods. People are harder to replicate and create realistically as well as imbue with poisons and as such she has not attempted this.


When the situation requires it she is able to use Necromancy to physically harm her opponents however, due to her pure connection to the world of the dead she is also able to freely see and communicate with them. Due to this connection she is able to exact revenge on the behalf of those who died with serious regrets.

Bio


Born as an only child, Aki grew up alone. Her father was almost obsessed with teaching others about the craft of Necromancy and her mother either ignored, or verbally abused the innocent little girl. During one particularly horrible episode, her mother physically attacked her, beating Aki until she was black and blue and leaving her out on the streets for the night, it was then that Aki acknowledged her hidden powers. Whilst wandering the darkened streets of the city she came across several apparitions one of which she managed to speak to. It was here that she discovered her natural affinity for the dead, she was able to communicate and see them, the first of her kind. Her mother was an Illusionist, she excelled at manipulating what a person saw within their environment, even manifesting their darker fears but during one incident - [Removed] It was later discovered that the reason for her mother's violent episode was because of this incident.


Aki's mother was executed as a consequence of her crime by Father Zoro.


Her father, stricken with grief, threw himself even further into his work leaving the young Aki completely alone in the world. Except she wasn't quite alone. Aki learned more about her connection to the dead, conversing with them more frequently and learning more about the darker side of the world. As she learned more about their stories her hatred and disgust grew. She decided that the dead deserved vengeance and if they couldn't exact it themselves, then she would do so for them. Using her Illusionist capabilities and connection to the dead, she tortured or killed individuals which she deemed guilty, picking people off one by one and either murdering them or poisoning their minds.

Personality


Aki generally despises her positive emotions. She detaches herself from them as much as possible and views positive ones as either detrimental, foreboding or just a complete lie. The negative emotions she feels are what she thrives off of, jealousy, contempt, sadness, fear, loneliness are just some examples. She uses these horrible emotions to drive her forwards, they fuel the burning flame of pure hatred she feels towards the world and Aki will stop at nothing to rid the dead of their own pain. She feels incredible loyalty to them and will take their word above anyone else's, they are dead after all, what do they have to gain from deceit? Alone amongst the living and a black sheep amongst the dead, Aki is no stranger to loneliness, in fact she prefers things this way. Like this she can observe the living and experiment with them, testing out what pushes them to their limits and how far they'll go to save themselves, abandoning anyone else. It also allows her to interact with the dead uninterrupted. Away from prying ears and eyes she can converse with them freely, comforting and reassuring them that despite their spectral forms, she will act on their behalf. And act she shall.

  Standing at 5'1, Kazuha is not exactly tall with barely passing her average height for her age. Accordingly, she has a very petite frame with fairly smooth pale skin. The back of her hair reaches just on her neck and she has a pair of front ponytails tied with two brown ribbons also for some reason, she likes to stylize a lock of her hair near the forehead to what it may seem like an antennae. The color of her eyes are dark brown while her hair is light blonde with mint green highlights.

  Kazuha is a laid-back and also friendly person nonetheless can be very scary at times while having a modernistic personality, believing change is a natural cause. When speaking, her words are mostly blunt and very direct with usually being brutally honest when criticizing people. There are moments of her being sarcastic as well as snarky towards people even if it is uncalled for plus she has a habit of annoying others just for her amusement and loves giving nicknames to people, especially ones that have piqued her interest. She is a bit tomboyish in terms of mannerisms but does knows how to act like a girl however strongly chose not to. Despite her carefree attitude, she is surprisingly methodical as well as analytical and will be able to notice every details even minor ones plus she is also capable of calculating her opponent's capabilities. Displaying great determination and confidence in her own abilities, she can be very stubborn moreover confrontational during battles and refuses to give up not until she herself acknowledges her lost. She is also shown to rarely be overwhelmed with pressure even when in pinch which usually prevents her from making any rash decisions.

  Kazuha is highly proficient in Seismic Waves, being able to fully detect and revoke the surroundings' energy with the help of her analytical nature. She can emit vibrations in order to push away opponents and prevent them from getting too close to her all the while either completely or partially hindering their attacks. It is necessary for her to have her feet on land at all times, ensuring that her magic remains effective. Infusing her physical contacts with seismic energy, she is able to harm or cause injuries that can interrupt the flow of magical energy inside a body depending on how she applies it. She is capable of burrowing through the ground with Earth however due to her negligence of this sub-class, she can only do it at a slow rate but still uses it to hide underneath her opponent to find the right opportunity to strike.

  After years of learning and mastering her main sub-class, Kazuha has developed a kind of Seismic Sense in which she is capable of sensing or rather feeling whatever is with contact of the ground by means of perceiving the vibrations due to being very sensitive of it. Other than that, she had studied is highly knowledgeable of the human body such as knowing all of their pressure points. Being that she lightweight body and has great talent in speed, she can be very quick on her feet to either dodge things to prevent them from being fatal or attacking her opponent without giving them time to react.

  Born from both parents who are also blessed with earth magic, Kazuha had shown great potential even as a child. Her mother, Mai had a chronic disease and died because of it when her daughter was still at the age of four thus she has vague memories of her, only remembering her sweet voice when singing. While both of them had been close and loved each other dearly, her father was not confident of raising her and resulted in remarriage for the sake of her and forgets to consider her feelings. She was fine with it, knowing that her father was doing it for her well-being and somewhat accepted her new mother who already has a daughter that was older than her, making her the older sister. Her father then died due to unknown reasons which then lead Kazuha under the stepmother's care which turned out that she had an affair with another man and they then got married. The man had a son which turned out to be the oldest of the three. Being his son, of course he was a favorite of the man and the second sibling, her step-sister had always been pampered by her step-mother. She was completely neglected but believed her current guardians were kind people however this was revealed to be her way of comforting herself with the lost of her loving parents.

  As she had thought after the announcement that Father Zoro was selecting a successor, her guardians' had high expectations for her realizing she had received the role of fighting in the battle, forcibly enrolling her into Philosopher's Stone in which she had seemed to taken it well at first. She works very hard in mastering her powers, fearing and not wanting to lose her newfound guardians' acknowledgment of her after all the years being mostly ignored plus unnoticed of her presence. She had made little to no friends, only focusing to hone her magic with being fully determined to win the expecting battle but was still sociable and did not made any enemies, at least in her school.

  Kazuha watched or at least observed from far away countless student killing each other though there were several of them that died by her own hands. As time pass, food shortage was obvious and her hunger was rendering her ability to fight thus decides to remain low for now. Her current suffering caused her to realize the wrong when she murdered various undeserved students and her original nature resurfaced when she had earlier became cold hearted, killing upon sight ever since the battle had started. She distanced herself from her schoolmates, wanting to find food through harmless means and would rather die than kill anymore.

Kazuha is a student from Philosopher's Stone who is highly proficient in Seismic Waves, being able to fully detect and revoke her opponent's energy. She would burrow through the ground, hiding underneath to find the right opportunity to strike and is capable of sensing or rather feeling whatever is with contact of the earth. She can emit vibrations in order to push away opponents and avoid them from getting to close or hinder their attacks. Infusing her physical contacts with seismic energy, she is able to harm or cause injuries that can interrupt the flow of magical energy inside a body depending on how she applies it. Using Earth, she is skillful in creating barriers to shield her from attacks.


Biography:


Being the youngest child of three siblings, her whole family at some point had attended Philosopher's Stone and graduated. Her parents have high expectations for Kazuha due to her having the role of fighting in the battle to choose the successor, not considering her feelings in which she had seemed to taken it well at first. While the eldest sibling, her brother was a favorite of her father and the second sibling, her sister had always been pampered by her mother, she is never given any attention and little love all her life.

Ah, there's just a few things I would wish you to fix. The first is that there is no graduating from the schools in Nayuta. it's either staying the entirety of ten years, or dropping out before the beginning of the events taking place. Students were picked out so they wouldn't become twenty/twenty-one until the end of everything, as to keep students throughout the entirety of ten years.


The second thing, is that it would be preferred you pick one subclass of magic. Rather than going with great use of both earth and seismic waves, go with great on one and decent on the other.


On a side note, I'll be creating a list of effectiveness with different types of magic fighting each other. It'll be up as soon as I post the full details of the magic, though what's present on the interest check is enough information to create a character with.

  Minori is playful and energetic; Not something you see much in the Dark magic population. She knows when to be serious as well. Minori can easily change her expression, whether it’s fake or real emotion.

  When alone, Minori is pretty negative, and doesn't really do anything besides take care of her needs and sit in silence in a dimly lit room, glaring at everything.

  Within the dark magic population, Minori is more focused on Poison Illusion. Though, rather than combining the two, she prefers to use one or the other.

  “Darkness Wave!”
  
  
  When this is shouted, a wave of purple essence covers the area and makes the ground a deep purple color. If touched, the ‘Purple darkness’ will slowly start to corrupt the person. If it gets too bad (via staying in the area too long, etc.), then the following can occur:
  
  
  Amnesia- The victim will forget the battle/event happened.
  
  
  Poisoning- The ‘Purple darkness’ has gotten into the victim’s system. The Purple essence will start to eat away at everything in the body from the inside, and medical attention will have to be immediate.
  
  
  “Shinigami’s Poison.”
  
  
  A deadly poison fills the air when this is said (By someone who can access the spell). Although it’s deadly, the extraction process is quite simple. However, if treatment is not given to the victim, then the poison will eventually shut down the system.
  
  
  “PoisonousCupcake!” (This was very necessary.)
  
  
  This is a small ability that can be whispered, causing a --very appetizing-- Cupcake to form in front of the target. This cupcake is an illusion. The longer the victim has the cupcake in view (Either in confusion or the fact that it looks to amazing), Minori will be able to secretly sneak poison into the victim. (It’s not too deadly.) This is used in raids or assassinations, whether undercover or not.
  
  
  “Illusionist’s Nightmare.”
  
  
  This will cause the target to see a fake world, living their worst nightmares or reliving their worst memories. While the victim is in a trance, Minori ccannot attack them them directly, however. The way to be released is a person of the same magic type’s touch or to wait it out.
  
  
  “Healing touch.”
  
  
  With this, Minori is able to heal people and living things. However, with her specialty being Poison Illusion, it’s not the most reliable ability she has, as she might accidentally poison someone instead of healing them.

  “There are debuffs to the powers I listed. I’m not THAT good.”
  
  
  Darkness Wave- Minori is the source of the ‘Purple Darkness’, and no matter how big or small the radius is, She’s at the center of it. With this flaw, she can easily be corrupted as well.
  
  
  Shinigami’s Poison- As air is everywhere, Minori can very easily cause death and destruction. People may come after her or she may get poisoned herself.
  
  
  PoisonousCupcake- If this were to be used in a combat situation, a cupcake would not distract for very long.
  
  
  Illusionist’s Nightmare- Minori will have to experience her worst memories or nightmares while the enemy is as well. She would have to have multiple people on her side in order to physically harm the enemy.
  
  
  Healing Touch- This has a 50/50 chance of healing or poisoning. The poison isn’t too harmful but it will make matters worse, and it needs to get extracted before it gets worse.

  The nurse says, giving Melody a warm smile. When the baby was handed over, Melody cradled her with a genuine smile plastered onto her features. The father, Riku, sighed.
  
  
  "She's obsessed."
  
  
  He pointed out, causing everyone in the room to snicker at his comment.
  
  
  "So, any names?"
  
  
  The nurse asked. The two parents exchanged glances before saying it in unison:
  
  
  "Minori Kurosawa."

  "Onee-Chan!"
  
  
  Minori called out, bright green eyes gleaming. Nekomi looked up from her studies, and groaned slightly.
  
  
  "Minori, I'm busy right now. Why don't you go play with Snuggles?"
  
  
  The older sister asks. Minori pouts before opening her mouth to say something. However, she was interrupted before she got to say anything. A loud 'CRACK' was heard from outside, and Nekomi seemed to know exactly what was going on.
  
  
  "..."
  
  
  The rivaling clan, the Kazuya clan, had specialized in earth techniques. Coincidentally, there was a large unnatural looking split in the ground in the backyard.

  "... Minori, in a few years you will start to learn magic. Is there any type in particular that you want to learn?"
  
  
  Minori tilted her head to the side.
  
  
  "Uhhhhh, yellow?"
  
  
  Riku chuckled.
  
  
  "You don't have to choose now, but we will need you to be able to protect yourself when the Kazuya clan attacks again."
  
  
  Minori nodded. She was aware of the Kazuya's plan to start a war, and the fact that it would start at any moment.

  The war seemed to be getting worse and worse. When Minori turned 10, she had decided to learn Dark Magic, specifically Poison Illusion.

  Walking back to her town, Minori smelt a foul scent that she found familiar. After a few seconds of trying to identify it, she quickly covered her mouth and nose.
  
  
  'Shinigami's Poison.'
  
  
  She thought. But when she had actually made it home, she saw something that she did not want to see. The village was in shambles.

  Minori is now fatherless, and her mother as along side her, mourning over Riku who had passed 3 months prior.
  
  
  "... We won. But everything good seems to come at a price..."
  
  
  Melody whimpered. Minori smiled slightly.
  
  
  "We have to keep our spirits high; I'm sure he wouldn't want us to stay depressed."
  
  
  She explains, losing the dullness in her eyes. Nekomi poked her head out from around the corner.
  
  
  "That's what I've been saying all this time!"
  
  
  She exclaims.
  
  
  "Every race has its obstacles, whether it's the hurdles or the opponents. Times like this are hurdles that try to keep us from achieving the goal."
  
  
  She continued.
  
  
  Melody chuckled.
  
  
  "It could've been worse. So about our plans to move... You guys should start packing. I got a new job at Nayuta!"
  
  
  She tells the siblings, and the three of them silently cheer in excitement.

  "All the schools are being put to the test, it seems."
  
  
  Minori sighs, leaning back in her chair. Nekomi had moved to the other side of the world, and Melody went to being the Green Magic's principle. For some reason, Minori didn't have the same Magic type as her.
  
  
  "Yeah. They have yet to announce what it is, though."
  
  
  A student admits.
  
  
  "Ah. I see. Well, this'll be interesting, to say the least. I may even take part of it, depends."
  
  
  Minori claims as she twirls a knife covered in poison with her fingers.
  
  
  "On that note, I gotta get practicing!"
  
  
  The student laughs.
  
  
  "Minori, you're different from a lot of the Dark Magic users. You're cheery and kind to almost everyone."
  
  
  Minori smiles.
  
  
  "Thank you. Your opinion made my day a lot better than it was; but I must say that I hold a small bit of darkness in my heart, and it may never be pure again. The cause: My father's passing."

  I look around. It’s been 5 months since the announcements; I remember it fondly.
  
  
  
  
  
  "Hello, kingdom of Karasu. I'm the one everybody calls Father Zoro. As of today onward, I will be selecting a successor. As many of you know, I've been in rule for forty long years, and thus it's getting a little close to the time I retire. For the next ten years, six magic academies shall compete within the newly-made city of Nayuta. Kawazoe of the Snowfall, Melody of the Silent Storms, Kuroda of the Dark Arts, Akamori of the Blazing Sun, Tsubaki of the Philosopher's Stone, and Hikari of the Cross-Light. Those will be your headmasters and headmistresses at these six academies, and those six shall be aiming to be my successor."
  
  
  “Ten years… I’ll be twenty-seven when it ends. If I survive, that is.”
  
  
  Considering the fact that there are three-thousand-plus students in Nayuta, it was rather quiet. Old news papers flew in the wind and the sun peeked out of the clouds. The weather was surprisingly nice, given the events that were taking place. It was seventy-five degrees with a slight, cool breeze.
  
  
  I didn’t know what to do. Everything just came so suddenly. The food shortage. The water contamination. The paths were stained with blood and the weapons of fallen students were scattered throughout Nayuta… None of which I specialize in. It wasn’t long before I ran into two students of Blazing Sun.
  
  
  “Huh. Looks like we got lucky.”
  
  
  One of them sneers. It pains me to think that, before this started, students of all schools got along and hung out with each other. No everyone is bitter towards one another.
  
  
  “Taaaake this!!”
  
  
  The other yells, lunging at me. Everything seems to slow down as I stare at the flames in her palm. A glob of purple liquid, poison, forms and takes the shape of a scythe. This is the only thing I know how to form with poison, let alone any type of liquid. I rarely use it, though. I lift it up and swiftly bring it down on the girl no older than me. She narrowly leaps out of the way, and I sprint straight towards her, scythe ready to swing.

  The fight lasted a long time. I finally managed to slice the boy's head off, decapitating him. That's what he gets for using a forbidden technique. The boy's sister had somehow escaped. 'Great, I made a new enemy.'

Rain's expertise is in the sub-class of Silent Step, a magic technique which allows the user to make their body extremely light, allowing for increased speed, stealth, agility, acrobatics, and more. He prefers physical combat, and therefore this is his chosen path of magic.

Bio:

~Origins

Rain was born in the kingdom of Karasu. Growing up, he never saw his father, who was a mercenary that was famous for taking all kinds of jobs, including assassinations. His mother took care of him alone, as his parents were never married to begin with.

~9-13 Years Ago

As Rain grew into a boy, his mother Mylene decided it was time for him to meet his father. She sought out his father, creating a fake job under an alias so that he would meet with her. When they met, Kenta, Rain's father, attempted to immediately flee, terrified of what Mylene was going to say. However, Mylene caught his attention by getting straight to the point, informing him that his son had begun to show signs of magic affinity for Silent Step, the same sub-class that Kenta used. This was a lie she used to trap Kenta into teaching him.

His interest peaked, Kenta stayed to hear out what Mylene had to say. She told him to raise his son so that he may learn to control and understand his magic. Kenta agreed to her proposal, excited at the idea of having a successor.

For the next 4 years, Kenta had moved in with Mylene and Rain to teach him about the basic fundamentals of magic, as well as train him in the technique of stealth and assassination, his own expertise. He also trained him physically, and the results exceeded Kenta's expectations. His son had shown great potential, and he was beginning to see that Rain could really surpass him one day, but only in pure talent. At that point, Rain was still a complete novice in Silent Step, and worst than anything, he was soft. He was too kind-hearted and warm to grow into the man he needed to be to succeed his father. That was about the time when Kenta heard about Father Zoro's six schools.

~8-9 Years Ago

Rain was enrolled in the Silent Storms school so that he could improve his Silent Step. His father had wanted to enroll Rain solely because of the battle that would take place. He wanted Rain to witness death and loss first hand, hoping that it would harden him and bring out the assassin that he was meant to be.

~1-8 Years Ago

Rain had come to find many friends at his new school. His classes were going well and he was improving at a great pace. He knew that the great battle was coming up soon, but he didn't really know much about it. At the time, he was convinced it was mostly just a competition to see which school's headmaster/mistress is most worthy of succeeding Father Zoro. He wanted to help his headmistress win, so Rain continued to work hard throughout this time. As he began to mature into a young man, Rain had become quite skilled in Silent Step. For his 17th birthday, he received twin daggers from his father.

~Present Time-6 Months Ago

The war had begun. At first, Rain was relatively uninvolved. He realized the battles were more than just competition, and that everyone was fighting to kill. He didn't want to kill anyone, so he stayed away for the first couple of weeks. Bio:

~Origins

Rain was born in the kingdom of Karasu. Growing up, he never saw his father, who was a mercenary that was famous for taking all kinds of jobs, including assassinations. His mother took care of him alone, as his parents were never married to begin with.

~9-13 Years Ago

As Rain grew into a boy, he began to realize that he had a natural affinity towards Silent Step magic. His mother knew little magic, so she didn't quite understand how to aid her child. She sought out his father, creating a fake job under an alias so that he would meet with her. When they met, Kenta, Rain's father, attempted to immediately flee, terrified of what Mylene was going to say. However, Mylene caught his attention by getting straight to the point, informing him that his son had begun to show signs of magic affinity for Silent Step, the same sub-class that Kenta used.

His interest peaked, Kenta stayed to hear out what Mylene had to say. She told him to raise his son so that he may learn to control and understand his magic. Kenta agreed to her proposal, excited at the idea of having a successor.

For the next 4 years, Kenta had moved in with Mylene and Rain to teach him about the basic fundamentals of magic, as well as train him in the technique of stealth and assassination, his own expertise. He also trained him physically, and the results exceeded Kenta's expectations. His son had shown great potential, and he was beginning to see that Rain could really surpass him one day, but only in pure talent. At that point, Rain was still a complete novice in Silent Step, and worst than anything, he was soft. He was too kind-hearted and warm to grow into the man he needed to be to succeed his father. That was about the time when Kenta heard about Father Zoro's six schools.

~8-9 Years Ago

Rain was enrolled in the Silent Storms school so that he could improve his Silent Step. His father had wanted to enroll Rain solely because of the battle that would take place. He wanted Rain to witness death and loss first hand, hoping that it would harden him and bring out the assassin that he was meant to be.

~1-8 Years Ago

Rain had come to find many friends at his new school. His classes were going well and he was improving at a great pace. He knew that the great battle was coming up soon, but he didn't really know much about it. At the time, he was convinced it was mostly just a competition to see which school's headmaster/mistress is most worthy of succeeding Father Zoro. He wanted to help his headmistress win, so Rain continued to work hard throughout this time. As he began to mature into a young man, Rain had become quite skilled in Silent Step. For his 17th birthday, he received twin daggers from his father.

~Present Time-6 Months Ago

I'd like you to change the bio so that it doesn't include an affinity for a specified magic, as magic is almost entirely (not always, but about 99.999% of the time) something one must be trained in to have capabilities past level zero or one. She is capable of sensing or rather feeling whatever is with contact of the ground by means of perceiving the vibrations due to being very sensitive of it. It is necessary for her to have her feet on land at all times, ensuring that her magic remains effective. She can also emit waves in order to push away opponents and avoid them from getting too close also being able to hinder their attacks. Infusing her physical contacts with seismic energy, she is able to harm or cause injuries that can interrupt the flow of magical energy inside a body depending on how she applies it. Using Earth, she may burrow slowly through the ground, hiding underneath to find the right opportunity to strike


Biography:


While the eldest sibling, Kazuha's brother was a favorite of her father and the second sibling, her sister had always been pampered by her mother, she is never given any attention and received little love all her life. Her parents have high expectations for her due to her having the role of fighting in the battle to choose the successor, not considering her feelings in which she had seemed to taken it well at first. She works very hard in mastering her powers, fearing and not wanting to lose her parents' acknowledgment of her after all the years being mostly ignored plus unnoticed of her presence.


Personality:


Kazuha is a laid-back and friendly person while having a modernistic personality, believing change is a natural cause. Her words are mostly very direct together with being blunt besides with usually showing brutal honesty when criticizing people. She have her moments of being sarcastic plus has a habit of annoying others just for her amusement and also giving nicknames to people that have piqued her interest. She is a bit tomboyish in terms of mannerisms but does knows how to act like a girl yet chose not to. Despite her carefree attitude, she is methodical as well as analytical and will be able to notice every details even minor ones plus she is also capable of calculating her opponent's capabilities. Displaying great determination and confidence in her own abilities, she can be very stubborn moreover confrontational during battles and refuses to give up not until she herself acknowledges her lost. She is also shown to rarely be overwhelmed with pressure even when in pinch which usually prevents her from making any rash decisions.

Yuuri entered the world as silently as her mother left it. The stress of birth was too much. Her frail body couldn't handle it a second time. While the woman lay dying, the doctors fretted over her baby, born a month early with fluid in her lungs. Not the best start for a soon-to-be mage in any sense. But luckily for the newborn, the doctors did their job well and she managed to keep her life. The same could not be said for her poor father, weary and heartbroken. A mere day after her birth, he took to the bottle and urged on brawls. It wasn't long before his drunken slurs got him killed by a rogue on the run. The babe's only living relative, a businessman brother much older than her, was soon contacted and designated as Yuuri's guardian, though the title was used loosely.


The years swept by in clouds of dust and dirt, and Yuuri, a simple servant to her brother's whims, began to grow. A thin girl no stronger than her mother, she cooked his food, washed his clothes, and cleaned his house, all under the pretext that it was meant to make her healthy and able. A slave in her own home, she wondered desperately of the outside world and the knowledge of magic that her brother seemed to have. Word would reach her ears of the different schools and classes and she yearned to take part in the conversations. When her eleventh birthday rolled around, it seemed her dearest wish was finally answered when brother dearest enrolled her in his alma mater, Blazing Sun.


She entered the school with her head held high for the first time in her life, eager and excited to work, only to find out she was almost totally inept in the magical arts. Try as she might, she could barely produce a single spark after two years, while her peers had already begun to talk of spitting flames. Though she would write to her guardian and ask for his advice, he never once replied and the years pressed on.

PERSONALITY

Enter Yuuri at age 17, terrified of her own shadow. Though trained in fiery arts, her nature is anything but blazing. Relentlessly teased by all her peers for lack of talent left the poor girl in search of anything resembling strength or courage, only to come up empty handed. She jumps at almost anything that moves and only speaks when spoken to, although her words are often a jumbled mess amidst the stutters and mumbles. She does not do well with confrontations and has a bad habit of backing herself into corners. Her constant fear has left her paranoid at all times; she is often seen with her head swivelling in all directions like an owl, ever watchful of her bullies.





Lonely and sulking, Yuuri can always be found alone and away from other people. Unbenownst to the girl, the constant taunts and bitter insults have built inside her a raging inferno ready to be unleashed. Just one more straw on the camel's back, and it might just be set free...





EXTRA: However unskilled she may be at magic and hand-to-hand combat, Yuuri has taken an interest in ranged weaponry, specifically throwing knives. Though she still has much to learn in terms of accuracy and technique, she ranks surprisingly high. It is this skill and her textbook knowledge that has allowed her to stay in Blazing Sun.

Ah, as I told altheaire, siblings who would be older than nineteen at present time in the RP wouldn't have ever been a part of any of the schools, as the acceptance process was set so that somebody joining would be no older than nineteen to twenty-one upon graduating one of the six academies in Nayuta. Born in a quiet little town near the borders of the kingdom of Karasu, Yuuri silently entered the world. The doctors fretted of the fragile babe born a month early with fluid in her lungs, while the woman who birthed her lay breathing her last breaths. The stress of the birth had been too much for the mother to endure a second time and slow was her passing. Luckily for the newborn, the doctors were proficient in their craft and she was allowed to live. Her father, on the other hand, died soon after from heartbreak, leaving little Yuuri in the frigid hands of her older brother.


Age 5:


She cooked, she cleaned, she catered to her brother’s whims. He was a businessman of sorts, though his trade was unknown to the girl. He travelled throughout Karasu was all she knew of his work. When he returned home, her turn would come to make a living, a simple servant to the older man. She had never stepped foot outside his home.


Age 8:


The years swept by in clouds of dust and dirt and Yuuri began to grow. Gangly and thin, always keeping to herself, she proved to be as weak as her mother. As she aged, brother dearest allowed her to wander on occasion, though never allowed more than an hour and always within sight of their home. It was during these outings that she began to hear the whispers of a strange city in the kingdom meant to train youths in the art of magic. She had seen such things before, simple acts of wizardry no more complicated than slapping ink on paper. This was to be something much more fascinating.


When she confronted her brother about her desire to attend, she had only just opened her mouth to speak when he announced her enrollment in Blazing Sun with a strangely twisted grin on his lips. A day later, she was shipped off to the newly founded Nayuta.


Ages 8-16:


Though she entered the school with her head held high, Yuuri’s confidence was immediately demolished. Though she excelled in the school’s textbook knowledge, she was almost completely inept when it came to practical magic and could barely produce a spark after her second year and lacked any talent whatsoever for melting objects into magma. While the rest of her peers fantasized of fire-breathing and lava-bending, Yuuri was content to produce even the smallest of flames in her hands.


She would write to her brother at every opportunity between lessons and practice, but not once did the man reply. The thought of dropping out would cross her mind often, but a mere thought it would remain; the girl had nowhere to go, none to turn to. Inept though she may be, she remained at Blazing Sun, where at least her necessities were provided for.


Six Months Ago:


“N-no, you… Y-you’re joking! Hey… H-hey, he’s joking, right? He can’t—can’t be serious, right?! Right?!”


Father Zoro’s words still bounced around her brain hours later after the announcement. The students swarmed the halls, screaming cheers for their beloved Head, but Yuuri would have none of it. Curled in the farthest corner of her dormitory, she swayed as her tears left blurry tracks upon her cheeks, praying to whatever gods there may be that it was all a lie.


Now:


She had grown quite adept at hiding. Few could ever find her, not even her old peers who knew her best. The only problem was food and water, which seemed to have grown scarce in the recent months. Hunting was now the best method for finding both, a skill the young mage could never master, much like everything else. Though she failed in magic and combat, Yuuri excelled in ranged weaponry with particular regard to throwing knives. That and scavenging was all that kept her alive thus far, and she wondered just how long she could keep it up. Six months had passed. Students dropped like flies to leave only the strong behind. It was only a matter of time…

PERSONALITY

Fairly free-spirited and vacant, Mai seems to be the kind of person who goes with the flow and isn't easily bothered or annoyed. She knew very well that maintaining this serenity can help her utilize her magical abilities and that if her mind isn't at peace, she can become quite bitter or reckless in her behaviour to the point when she has to stand back, stop herself and calm down. When it comes to being with others or being alone, she has no preference and can cope with either. She is guided by her principles rather than excitement or practicality. Although she can often seem to be empty-headed or inane, she is very certain in her decisions. She follows her principles and her own logic, making decisions that can sometimes disregard her own emotions or morals. Because of this, she can seem very passive or dark, and she can can come to regret her actions and decisions later when emotions play in. However, this other side only arises if she is tied into a difficult and pressing situation. Otherwise, she is generally airy and intact with her emotions. Her nonchalant behaviour can leave people mislead when it comes to her magical abilities. Mai is very positive and cares for others. If someone she cares for is in trouble, she can become far more focused and motivated. She usually appears to be straight faced and lacking expression in a way that makes her appear clueless or dumbfounded.

  Mai is a water user in the subclass of Snowfall, capable of submerging into her element with a more elegant and fluent approach. Seeing a troubled loved one can motivate her in battle and make her more willed and motivated, but this can also make her attacks more reckless and destructive, which she is against as she goes for control and accuracy which she excels at. A great manipulator of water and moisture, using the flow of water to defend herself and defend others. Her abilities allow water to be offensive and defensive, and when she's sadder her magic appears to have a better flow. Although she's quite calm and vacant, Mai is very skilled with water magic when her usual state of mind is maintained. Mai focuses on her flow of energy; she can let her defense become her offense, turning her opponents' own forces against them if the void or opportunity reveals to her. Even when she does take an attack stance, her moves always appear to flow from one to the other. She believes that her strength lies within great versatility, control and regard.
  
  
  Mai has a great strength and reliance in her water magic, and is subsequently very weak when it comes to ice magic. She feels like she cannot channel what is required to perform the magic very well, and is better at thawing things than actually freezing them so that she can refer to water magic instead.   Childhood: Mai grew up in a more quiet part of Karasu with her mother, father and younger sister who grew up with learning difficulties. She didn’t see her mother around often, neither of them did, but she assumed that her mother went to work so that they could all stay in her home in peace. Mai’s most vivid memory would probably be her mother complaining about the landlords constantly on her back. She never quite understood what her mother did and didn’t have a very strong connection with her. She didn’t see why her mother was struggling when she knew that her father, a blacksmith, was working and supposedly earning enough for them all. Because of this, Mai decided to take a motherly role with her younger sister Kyoko, helping her with things while their parents were away. Kyoko was 5 years younger than her, and Mai held her close and cared for her, even while she was but a child.
  
  
  School life: She never succeeded greatly academically unless the subject allowed her to explore literature, nature or poetic analogies. When it came to practical lessons, she exceeded greatly and felt free to use her water magic. Mai guessed that if she didn’t spend so much time looking after her sister she could have been smarter or better, and as school became increasingly difficult, she found it harder to cope. The only person she’s ever been greatly thankful for was her father, who she wrote to. He solved the issue by hiring a nanny he and their mother knew. Around the age of 14, Mai’s mother passed away. She doesn’t remember mourning much as she hardly knew her, and didn’t tell Kyoko for a while in the fear of upsetting her. After these changes, Mai’s grades became increasingly better, still never quite meeting her practical standard.
  
  
  6 months ago (recent): When the war began, she wasn’t intent in killing one. In fact, she was more focused on protecting Kyoko, but she wasn’t fully able to while balancing every other responsibility. It all got out of hand, and eventually, her sister was killed. This put a certain drive behind her and devastated her; Kyoko was innocent. Although she knows she can’t bring her back to life, Mai knows that she can try protecting others and putting things right. Whether she is blinded by emotions or clearly driven, she knows that she will try and put things right and make a world that Kyoko would have loved. And while personally she’s never taken a life, she understands how difficult things are in Nayuta, and though she has always wanted to play the role of protector, she knows that sometimes she must drop that vision if she intends to resolve things.

Her nonchalant behaviour can leave people mislead when it comes to her magical abilities. Mai is very positive and cares for others. If someone she cares for is in trouble, she can become far more focused and motivated.   Mai is a water user in the subclass of Snowfall, capable of submerging into her element with a more elegant and fluent approach. Seeing a troubled loved one can motivate her in battle and make her more willed and motivated, but this can also make her attacks more reckless and destructive, which she is against as she goes for control and accuracy which she excels at. A great manipulator of water and moisture, using the flow of water to defend herself and defend others. Her abilities allow water to be offensive and defensive, and when she's sadder her magic appears to have a better flow. Although she's quite calm and vacant, Mai is very skilled with water magic when her usual state of mind is maintained. Mai focuses on her flow of energy; she can let her defense become her offense, turning her opponents' own forces against them if the void or opportunity reveals to her. Even when she does take an attack stance, her moves always appear to flow from one to the other. She believes that her strength lies within great versatility, control and regard.
  
  
  Mai has a great strength and reliance in her water magic, and is subsequently very weak when it comes to ice magic. She feels like she cannot channel what is required to perform the magic very well, and is better at thawing things than actually freezing them so that she can refer to water magic instead.   Childhood: Mai grew up in a more quiet part of Karasu with her mother, father and younger sister who grew up with learning difficulties. She didn’t see her mother around often, neither of them did, but she assumed that her mother went to work so that they could all stay in her home in peace. Mai’s most vivid memory would probably be her mother complaining about the landlords constantly on her back. She never quite understood what her mother did and didn’t have a very strong connection with her. She didn’t see why her mother was struggling when she knew that her father, a blacksmith, was working and supposedly earning enough for them all. Because of this, Mai decided to take a motherly role with her younger sister Kyoko, helping her with things while their parents were away. Kyoko was 5 years younger than her, and Mai held her close and cared for her, even while she was but a child.
  
  
  School life: She never succeeded greatly academically unless the subject allowed her to explore literature, nature or poetic analogies. When it came to practical lessons, she exceeded greatly and felt free to use her water magic. Mai guessed that if she didn’t spend so much time looking after her sister she could have been smarter or better, and as school became increasingly difficult, she found it harder to cope. The only person she’s ever been greatly thankful for was her father, who she wrote to. He solved the issue by hiring a nanny he and their mother knew. Around the age of 14, Mai’s mother passed away. She doesn’t remember mourning much as she hardly knew her, and didn’t tell Kyoko for a while in the fear of upsetting her. After these changes, Mai’s grades became increasingly better, still never quite meeting her practical standard.
  
  
  6 months ago (recent): When the war began, she wasn’t intent in killing one. In fact, she was more focused on protecting Kyoko, but she wasn’t fully able to while balancing every other responsibility. It all got out of hand, and eventually, her sister was killed. This put a certain drive behind her and devastated her; Kyoko was innocent. Although she knows she can’t bring her back to life, Mai knows that she can try protecting others and putting things right. Whether she is blinded by emotions or clearly driven, she knows that she will try and put things right and make a world that Kyoko would have loved. And while personally she’s never taken a life, she understands how difficult things are in Nayuta, and though she has always wanted to play the role of protector, she knows that sometimes she must drop that vision if she intends to resolve things.

  ? Maalik has a mesomorph body with long limbs and a thin, but muscular built. His facial attributes are the most distinctive features some will notice first-hand apart from his apparel. He was born with heterochromia where his eyes are both two different colors from one another due to the lack of melanin; in Maalik's case, his left eye is a bright-golden hue that shines like the moon while his right is a wine-red that will glow when he uses his taboo spell. On his right eye, there is a past scar that starts from his forehead straight over his eye down to his cheekbone. He has quite a winsome face with strong jawlines and high cheekbones, thin lips that rarely ever curl up to a smile, and a pale ivory complexion that seems to glow under light. His hair is charcoal-black and is past his elbow just slightly.   From the day he was fully given ability to sense, to the day he said his first word, to the day he was able to walk, Maalik lived a life of protection and showered with affection by both his parents. He was still an only child among the Acaelus family thus far until it came to his fifth birthday that he was blessed with a little sister where he was given the privilege to name. The name he chose when his baby sister was born was, Calista, because of how exquisite she looked, just like when Maalik was born. Two year after, his family grew with two more siblings, both fraternal twins, where the girl was named, Shui, and the boy named, Arui.
  
  
  
  Being the oldest among three younger siblings, he took it upon himself to set an example and be the role model his younger siblings needed. Spending all his time and dedication into being a good older brother, he didn't noticed the gap that was opening between his parents and himself until the day he was shunned by his mother.
  
  
  
  Thrown into the education system, he couldn't do anything to fix the gaping valley that separated his parents from him. He didn't even know why his parents ignored him and the only thing he could do to try and get their attention back on him again was study.   He still continued on with excellent grades but his purpose was gone. Everything he did before now just added more weight to the pain with a hole growing in his own heart.   These words were strong to stab Maalik hard enough to cause something to snap in himself. Taken away from his family, he didn't dare give a single glance back at his family for he was now disowned, a child with no family or a place to call home ever again. The salty tears spilling from his eyes -- mixing with the blood from the cut -- were the only thing that gave his silent good-byes to his family while his siblings watched from within the safety of the house, bawling their eyes out after what had happened, their pleas for their brother to come back were disregard.   While Maalik went on to Nayuta, he didn't even see his mother fall onto her knees in tears, the hand she used to slap her own son clenched close to her chest tightly drawing blood as she whispered soft prayers of apologies in hope of the heavens to send it to her son to understand and forgive her for doing such things.

  After seven years being a student of Dark Arts, his purpose being here had begun and the battle struck the six schools to collided into what was suppose to be a competition, into a bloody war. At this point, it was rare to find an untainted soul within the city of Nayuta because every single hand were filthy with blood, even Maalik's own.
  
  
  Though he was part of the Dark Arts Academy, there had been some controversy happening within the Academy to even go against one another despite being one Academy. Maalik took no part in it but there was no way to escape it and because of it, he had even killed his own comrades though, there are no such thing as that now.
  
  
  
  Maalik lost everything; family, home, even friends. There was no one he could actually trust at this point and the hole within his heart is too big for anything to fill it back up. His resolve for this event had fallen. Now, he is just a hollow shadow of himself bringing bloodshed in order to survive until he gave out his last breath.

  ? Maalik uses very small and brief statements to describe how he feels and won't elaborate on the meaning behind his words. He lacks social skills in communicating with others and being more expressive in his emotions but is quite intelligent. He appears as a towering figure with an intimating aura from afar, but in person, he's surprisingly cordial but with a more timid approach to him. He keeps his eyes looking down at the floor as if it is the most interesting thing in the world and keeps a safe distance from others in order to keep himself from getting hurt and also hurting others.
  
  
  He values trust deeply and has a hard time trying to depend on another for aid. Due to what had happened to him, he isn't gonna be easy to get close to. It will take time for him to see the good in one's heart and bring his guard down as he will become brutally impulsive within seconds if he sees anything that can do harm to him.
  
  
  If he does find the heart to become vulnerable to someone, that person will see a new side to Maalik that he keeps bottled up behind the stolid mask he wears. He will open up more with a sense of a gentleman-like attitude. He will be greatly expressive to them and won't hold back to act spoil from time to time unless the situation calls for him to be composed. He would always be there in time of needs and is selfless enough to throw his life on the line for his friends even those who he hates or can't trust.
