Leila watched as the demon in front of her crumbled to dust before her eyes. The dust gathered on the ground before the wind whistling between the alleyway picked up, carrying the ashes away along with the smoke of the barrel of her gun as if the two were intertwined even beyond death.
That demon, he had killed three people before Leila had gotten there, and managed to kill yet another young woman before she was able to track it down and she couldn't help but chastise herself over not being able to catch it sooner.
Leila sighed, shaking her head from the dark route her thoughts were beginning to take. What's done is done, she told herself as she reached into her pocket and lit a smoke. Now let's get back on the road.
The young hunter looked around her as she walked through the cemetery, eyes glancing over the graves as she went forward, her gun with its safety back on now that the threat was eliminated. It was near one in the morning, so it was empty, and there was a chill in the air that could only be associated with the coming of winter. Right now, Leila wanted nothing more than to get back into her Mustang and turn the heat on as she drove to her next destination, wherever that was.
