Fantasy The MPC Rushes Story, Cont.

No worries! This is fun, and I love all of you guys, but real life stuff needs to be prioritized. We just got back, and, as he already said, William has gone straight to bed. I plan to be up for a little while longer, but honestly I'm probably not far behind him.

Also, I have no problem with Fitz posting after we've gone to bed since we're so lame - I mean it's so late where we are xD I can check things in the morning when I wake up and to make sure everything's going smoothly.

I was just thinking, I know that William has an idea for what he wants to do the instant that Gen and Fitz jump, so if we at least progress to that point he could start taking it from there. Since I don't know what he's planning I don't know how far that would take us before we needed input again, but it would be progress!

I can write that bit quickly, as long as everyone is cool with me writing Fitz's part. Technically it is his move.

I believe that when William says Sitting Room in the new post, he means the sitting room of Black Iron House where Gen and Fitz were, not the Sitting Room from MPC.

I did it. I bought the brown and red striped fabric. (*^*)

Also, I took a little steampunk inspiration for my outfit last night!<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_12/57a8c64950d65_Steampunkoutfit.jpg.f8a1f3e01a69abf518915c3679fa49af.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="91473" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_12/57a8c64950d65_Steampunkoutfit.jpg.f8a1f3e01a69abf518915c3679fa49af.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

It was a lot of fun! I didn't realize going in, but it's Sheryl Crow's new musical. It premiered last year in Virginia, and now it's playing at Delaware Theare Company in Wilmington with some of the original cast. The master electrician for the theatre is a friend of ours, so we always get free tickets to the shows. There were some great musical pieces in it, while others fell a little flat, but all of the actors did a marvelous job and the set was absolutely incredible! It looked like a real diner!

I'm glad you had fun, and your outfit is super adorable, of course!

Since we're all here, I was wondering if I could, perhaps, pick your collective brains about a narrative conundrum I've been struggling with outside of the little world we've built. Would anyone mind if I waxed personal about a project of mine?

Well, to make a long story short, a friend and have, for the last 8 year, built a World. Maps, history, races, etc. Less DnD, more of a modern setting though.

The actual Story spans first my characters, then her characters, and the third book (comic, actually) merges the two groups to fight the standard Great Evil that happens (Under the title of Those Who Suffer).

The problem is...kind of one of laziness. A long time ago, we started drawing ourselves in little throwaway doodles and non-canon bits, sort of as an odd way to interact and bother these characters. Over time, we got more involved in our characters lives on paper. To keep things as simple as possible, the me that I places on paper changed on her own. She's not really me anymore, and shows up a few times in my Story, and is a main player in the third book. She's done too much to be me anymore, though we share a similar body frame and hair cut. The problem comes with the name. I never chose another name for her.

So this person, who was me, but isn't me anymore, still has my name as she exists with the other characters. And on one hand, that feels weird to me. It's very easy to point at her and claim it as a self-insert, which was, non-canonly true, but isn't anymore. On the other hand, name aside, we aren't that similar anymore. She's done too much without me for her to be me, if this makes sense. So, do I find a new name to fully untangle her from me? What do you think? Note, if we publish this or do something with it, it would be online and under our screen names, not our actual names (which would be easy to find out anyway if someone wanted to.)

Hm. That is tough. If it were me, I would probably change it. If the character isn't you anymore, then it might be best for her name to reflect that. It's obviously bothering you, and I think that in and of itself says something.

I'd worry less about accusations of self-insert than the fact that the character doesn't reflect you any more. I'd change it since it bothers you.

A group that I'm a part of, Real Women of Gaming, did a fundraiser for Extra Life last night. Since I couldn't participate, I said that if we met our goal I'd post a new picture from my lingerie shoot to my cosplay page. Our goal was $250. We raised $775. Now my butt is on the internet for all to see.
