Brighton Beach, Brooklyn NYC. People of Russian and Slavic ethnicity have flourished in this part of Brooklyn for a long time helping in giving it nicknames such as 'Little Russia' or 'Little Odessa'. Being close to Coney Island this is a popular area for its beautiful beaches and its sight on the boardwalk.
But, this area is also known to be a Russian Mafia hotspot where the mobs of Russia come to conduct their 'business' within the US. The biggest of these The Odessa Mafia consisted of men from the Ukrainian Mafia who are close 'business partners' with the Russians.
The 2nd biggest Russian mob in this area growing in influence and strength, the Solntsevskaya Bratva overall the biggest and most powerful Russian Mafia. And many other smaller newer gangs in the more inland parts of this neighborhood.
Though a threat looms in the distance as Mexican and Latino's have begun moving into this area from the East to the West. And with them came small Latino gangs, but now big boy Latino gangs such as the Latin Kings and Queens have shown up harassing the native Russian population and carving up turf which all Russians can agree is not good as they steal business interests. Turf wars between the Russian mobs and the Latino gangs are brewing, and only one can walk out alive here. Both are not ones to back down from a fight, but whose iron will shall prevail?
This RP will focus on the the struggle and business aspect of keeping these mobs and gangs afloat, if one side prevails the other obviously sinks. Those who play of gang or mob bosses of the area will have to deal with the finances and logistics of doing so. Most of you will RP as normal members of the gang or mob you are apart of. But RPers can act as the area leader of a big gang or mob that runs operations in Brighton. But players also have the option to create their own smaller lesser known gang, but obviously will have to deal with competition. You finally also have the option to play a more neutral role such as a dealer, or for hire hit man. Gang warfare is also expected to occur, so death could happen. Knowledge of the Russian Mafia and the Latino Gangs/cartels etc. is suggested. A full list of major gangs and mobs will be made eventually, don't be afraid to ask if a specific one is allowed.
