“You’re right time is definitely going to fly by. Before we know it we’ll have two kids and david and Julie will have two kids. Do you think Theo and Jessie will have another child together? I think he’s settling in with being a step dad pretty well. I’ve heard her daughter loves him.”

 

[SnowAshe]

Snow nodded and said “Theo has always wanted kids of his own. While he loves Jessie’s daughter, I’m pretty sure they’ll end up having another kid. Especially since they’re both still young enough to have more kids.”

“Jessie definitely wants more kids I know that for sure.” I tell you before my names called into the back and I stand up with your assistance. We walk to the back together and I go into one room doing all of my measurements and things. I’ve only gained 5 pounds in the last 15 weeks and they said that was good. I had been eating pretty healthy but I also was struggling to eat a lot right now with my nausea. Once I’m done with measurements I go into the ultrasound room with you and I’m asked to strip from my waist down. I do that after the nurse leaves and I put a sheet over my lap on the exam table waiting for the doctor. “What do you think the gender of David and Julie’s baby will be?” I asked wanting to pass the time not knowing how long the doctor might be.

Snow shrugged and said “I know David has always wanted a boy as his first child. The first born on his dads side has always been a boy so I’d be very surprised if they had a girl.”

“I want it to be a girl because if we have a girl they’ll be able to wear watching outfits and be best friends from birth. Of course if they had a boy they’ll still be best friends from birth but a guy best friend is different then a girl best friend.” I say shrugging and the door opens showing the doctor coming in. She greets us since this is our first appointment with her and we talk a little bit getting to know her. She begins the exam between my legs and I squeeze your hand being so excited to see our baby. Once she’s down with the exam she asks me to lift my shirt up and she puts cold gel on it. She grabs the ultrasound wand and our baby pops up on the screen. I smile brightly and I tear up a little bit. We can see them moving around and she turns on the heartbeat. “I could try to find the gender if you guys would want. Sometimes the gender can be found at 15 weeks but usually 20 weeks if easier.” She says and I quickly shake my head. “We don’t want to know the gender. We’re going to wait until they’re born.”

Snow agreed with Harlow when she said that. They were already planning on having a girl but he knew even with the ultrasound gender reading wasn’t always easy until the child was actually born.

It would be a nice surprise to see when the baby was born and it didn’t matter what the gender was either because we’d love our little baby regardless. It was our baby and we’d love them unconditionally. She prints out some pictures once the ultrasound is done and hands them to me. “Everything is looking good. I’ll see you back at 20 weeks.” She smiles and leaves the room to let me get dressed again.

Snow helped her get dressed and said “Five weeks till our next appointment. I wonder what the ultrasound will look like then.” He took her hand and led her out of the building to where his truck was parked.

I got dressed and I walked out with you holding the ultrasound in my hand. “It’ll look more like a baby every time we go. We should get a 3D ultrasound done because I’d love to see the little details of our baby’s face. See who they look like.” I climb into the truck and I smile happily. “Do you think we could take a trip down to tell our parents today?”

 

[SnowAshe]

Snow opened the door for her and said “I’m off the rest of the day. I don’t see why not. May want to call them though to make sure they’re home.” His mom had texted him earlier that morning to check on them and see how everything was going. He had told her everything was going fine and that they’d go up to see them soon.

“My parents probably aren’t home but we can go visit their offices and tell them. Are your parents home?” I asked as I climbed up into the car and I buckle my seatbelt. I glance at you and I smile brightly. “I love you.” I whisper softly.

Snow shrugged before he went around to his side and got in. “My mom might be. And I love you too my dear. Do you need to stop by the house for anything? It’s on the way.”

“No I’m good for now. Let’s go share some news with our parents.” I was a little nervous and excited at the same time. I didn’t know how my parents would react because I don’t know if they expected us to have children so soon after we got married or if they expect us to have children at all.

Snow started up his truck and drove out of the parking lot. As they drove the hour and forty five minutes to Charlotte, they talked about a variety of things. Snow asked her how work was going, how she was liking working with Julie, and how she was liking living in Newberry.

As we drove I was enjoying the conversation with you and enjoying the feeling of our little baby move inside of me. Working with Julie was really fun and I definitely liked it better than the library because I got to see different pets all day. I loved petting the animals and getting to know them as they became regulars. Living in Newberry was interesting and I was still getting use to living here because it’s only been almost 5 months.

Snow smiled as she talked and once she had told him everything, he commented on her experiences and then told her some of what had been going on on his side.

I loved hearing you talk about how your works been going and about you writing books. Your books were blowing up and it was wonderful. So many people loved them and I knew you were writing more books. I let out a small yawn and I massage my belly.

It wasn’t long before they arrived at his parent’s house and he texted his mom letting her know they were there. His dad was at work currently but would be home soon. His mom met them at the door and they headed inside.

Once we were inside I got a little nervous and I was fiddling with my fingers not knowing how to tell her. We could show her the ultrasound picture from today or just straight up tell her. I decided to let you take the lead on this one.

Snow told his mom and she got super excited. His sister hadn’t had any kids yet so this was her first grandchild. She asked loads of questions which Snow was able to answer most of except for a few which Harlow had to answer.

I was really happy when she got so excited for us and I answered the questions that I could. I gave her an ultrasound picture from today and she takes it happily. I was really happy to be able to give her a first grandchild.

Snow’s dad came home not long after they had arrived and when he heard the news he was happy as well. Things had changed since Snow had left and their relationship was better now than it was when he was younger.

I was relieved to hear he was happy as well and I couldn’t wait to show them their grandchild now. I asked if they’d want to come watch the birth because we were doing it at home in the cabin and I was hoping they’d want to come.

His parents said that they’d like to come and asked when her due date was and if there was anything they could do to help. Snow was a little surprised how eager they were to help. He was also curious how Harlow’s parents would react.

I loved how eager they were to help and I could see that they’d spoil the baby already. I was excited for them to be at the birth and to find out the gender with us. Now to see what my parents would say about this.
