You decided to immediately turn OFF the lamp, and everything seems to go back to normal instead of hellish and insane. What WAS that???
You decide since you can't possibly see how this can get any worse to inspect the nearby red jar and, OF COURSE, there was something unsettling inside of it as well: Eye balls.

You have a strong gut feeling whatever was in that birdcage probably was caged in there for a reason...
You still have a tiny cupboard to inspect before it, however, and you carefully weigh your options:

Inspect the tiny cupboard then get on top of something that looks shock resistant; in other words, investigate the bird cage and hitch a ride on top of it. Maybe have a pleasant conversation with the spooky monster inside of it.
The theories are that bird cages are a sort of half-egg shape, and if you can get on top of it the spindley nature of it will cause it to break, but keeping most of the shock on the bird cage (effectively like an airbag) and, whatever's inside of it, if it's spooky enough to be kept caged, but not killed, it'll probably survive the fall and being 'crushed' by a little girl who'll use it as a shock absorber. Let's hope spooky dukey doesn't mind.
Maybe breaking the cage by using it as a cushion'll free him and we'll be best buddies! Maybe he loves burning shit down! I know I do!

Floating over to it, you lose a bit of your balance and seem to catch on to it upside down.
Either way, you open the small thing:
There appears to be... a.. key?
A key far too tiny to actually be of use, unfortunately... You decide to take it with you anyway and stuff it under your black ribbon.
...It IS rather cute, perhaps you can use it as a sort of necklace or bracelet charm...?
The moment you've been dreading for what seems like eternity has arrived: It's time to inspect the bird cage... It seems like the most stupidest thing to do, given there might be something there, but you try to reason with yourself that you could possibly use it to absorb the shock from your impending fall... If whatever is inside it doesn't kill you before you even hit the ground...
You float on over to it cautiously and take a deep breath...
