The Magic Kingdom

He started leading around the edges of the garden, slowly working your way in. As you walked he said "Yes, people have recently taken to given us flowers whilst you slumber, perhaps in the hopes you'll awaken sooner."

"I am glad I still have the respect of my people, despite having these slumbers." I lean on the balcony railing, looking over the city.

"They love you sir, you'd have to do worse than sleeping in order to lose their respect." The guardsmen says, reassuringly.

"As you wish, my lord." The guard helps you walk the same way he did before, and leads you to the elevator, ringing the bell and calling it up. It takes a few minutes to get there.

"Most likely, my lord." The guard laughs "This is quite rudimentary, but it saves our legs from the 30 minute long walk up the stairs."

"You live in the highest tower I think anyone have ever seen, your highness, it's quite the uphill walk." The guard laughed as the elevator arrived and he opened the door for you to walk into it.

I walked into the elevator thanking the guard. I stand and look around inside the elevator as the guard stood next to me.

The guard rings the bell again and a moment later the elevator starts to crank its way down, this time much faster.

The soldier had his hand placed on the railing to stay steady "That's for sure, my lord. I must admit, I never feel quite safe in these when they go so fast."

"Quite." The guard said, tightly gripping the bars

A few moments later, you begin to slow and reach the ground floor.

Out the cage of the elevator you can see a crew in a room to the side working the crank to move the elevator up and down, in front of you there is a long hallway of guards, 2 on either side at 10 foot intervals.

They are all equipped in the best of armor your lands have to offer, with sparkling chest pieces and a spear in their dominant hand with a shield gracing their other arm.

Their equipment differs from the guard who was escorting you, who carries a shield on his back and a longsword in its scabbard at his waist.

Your guard steps out and yells "Prepare arms!" And the guards lining the hallway stand as tall as they can, planting their spears on the ground and holding them out at 45 degree angles to create an area for you to walk through, looking quite regal.

I start walking through the hallway of guards. I thank the crew for working the elevator telling them, "Good job men."

I look side to side at the guards as they all gracefully stood still. I walk with the guardsmen down the hallway. I feel less tired and dizzy since I just had some fresh air from the balcony. I walk until we stop at the end of the hallway.

The workers look astonished that you've acknowledged them and look thoroughly happy.

The guard stops right behind you and waits patiently for you to decide what to do next.

In front of you, you see the servant from earlier speaking to a couple members of parliament, in a room to your left most of the parliament has been assembled to welcome your awakening and hold the first parliament of this cycle.

I become intrigued by the members of parliament. I walked towards them to grab their attention, eager to find out the subject matter that they are talking about.

When you enter the chamber the room is silenced and everyone stands as soon as they notice you, looking to you and not talking.

"Good morning everyone!" I said as I stood in front of everyone. Suddenly, at a sudden realisation, I had absolutely no idea what to say as I had just recently woken up. I stood there awkwardly.

The members of parliament wait patiently, not seeming to be bothered by your apparent lack of a topic to discuss, just happy to be there.

Silence only remained from me still. After a minute of standing around, I bowed down to the members of parliament, "Have a good morning everyone." I said. I turned around to face the guardsmen, expecting him to lead me to somewhere else.
