Fantasy The Lost Book

Cefrey yelped as two of the hooks hit her legs. But on purposely fell to the ground in an attempt to keep her arms and neck safe. But in that moment she violently gave her lute another strum. The sound that was made could not be considered music it was too shrill and harsh on the ears. And it was loudest near the bandits with the hooks. And it only got louder and more harsh. She intended to Shatter one of these bandits, Anti mage or not she had a way to fight even without magic. And if push came to shove she could use Vicious mockery, and for that any of her limbs were disposable, She just needed her vocal cords then. And with one final strum the noise erupted causing an explosion near the leader and another bandit.

Khaos and Pandora-

The little fairy listened to Balfnaught as he spoke and tilted her head "Manipulate?" she questioned and flew off of his shoulder and back onto Arachnos' shoulder. "Manipulate..." she repeated trying to understand how in fact she had manipulated him. If she had it was an ability she wasn't quite aware of.

She continued to sit upon Arachnos shoulder watching the battle between Balfnaught and the men observing everything in great awe and listened to the criticism given while the two blacksmiths sparred.

"I want to fight!" The small fairy chimed but then again held a slight nervousness since she still didn't have full use of her powers even as it filtered through the mask it was hard enough for her to shift from being a 1 inch fairy to a 4 foot fairy.

Everything seemed to pause as the fairy's attention was adverted to the newest guest being dragged in "Khaos..." she whispered in Arachnos ear as the elf was brought to him.

Khaos had been captured outside the camp Arachnos' maddening influence affected the elf in a most disturbing way. His eyes were wild and he was speaking elven profanities as he struggled to break free. His hat had been taken from him leaving him defenseless.

Pandora jumped off of Arachnos' shoulder and grew to her 4 ft self "Careful!" she yelled as the two roses on the hat opened and she paused able to see through them. The fairy essence grew dark around her "mine!" she shrieked in a growling tone and tackled the bandit grabbing the hat and placed it upon her head. The hat slowly slid down her head and over her face the two roses were now open and she could finally take in full of what Arachnos and Balfnaught and all the new sights with such clarity. She looked from Khaos to Arachnos as she did the hat slightly spun making her eyes roll with dizziness. Her face was completely covered for the had was too big for her but she didn't care she could see again and her powers came back to her in full use. The fairy had a faint purple glow to her and her eyes stared at Khaos.

The elf only laughed seeing the oversized hat upon his fairy. "have you made friends my pet?" He asked her.

Balfnaught chuckled slightly when he heard that he'd be receiving the skulls of his fallen opponents. The concept of trophy-taking was quite alien to him, as he had never had much of a desire. Once a fight was one, he would typically forget about it within a day or two, unless it was particularly memorable. Ironically, that had been one of his hardest fights against some of his weakest opponents. He made a mental note to find out where those men had been staying. While he didn't much mind sleeping outside, it wouldn't do any good for his image. He listened to and evaluated Arachnos' criticism. Any lesser being who said that he probably would have killed, but he had different rules for different people, and Arachnos had his respect. In fairness he had indeed exposed himself when he made that first strike. If his enemy had not been so weak he may have had a far trickier fight. He resolved to stay calmer in the future.
He watched Arachnos' "demonstration" in admiration, examining every strike, every dodge. They still maintained an air of savagery while using a very refined combat style. It was quite a thing to watch. He also admired Arachnos' powers of madness. They truly were something to marvel over. After the fight's conclusion, he heard Arachnos' suggestion that he acquire some armor. The tale he started to tell seemed very interesting, and Balfnaught resolved to hear the rest of it later.
"That... may be necessary. I cannot go on acting as if I were invincible. I will at least have to protect myself until I regain my abilities."
He was about to leave Arachnos alone to oversee his duties when the God stepped forwards to him, and placed his hand upon Balfnaught's shoulder. The force was incredible. It would have taken everything Balfnaught had to break free from it. Regardless, he could not show weakness. He refused to show weakness. His face did not betray a thing. Even as the aura in the air shifted, becoming more menacing, more vicious, more... alive. Arachnos issued him an ultimatum. Balfnaught came very close to attacking him, mauling him, but he stopped, for several reasons. Firstly, Arachnos was a magnificent creature. Nothing more. He was one of the only equals Balfnaught had ever encountered, and he didn't want that to end just yet. Secondly, Balfnaught was uncertain as to whether he could defeat him, and he did not want that to change into a certain result. He preferred not knowing. Thirdly, if he wanted to fight Arachnos, he wanted both of them to be at their peak, not limited as they were.
"So if I kill the fairy I make an enemy of Arachnos as well. I like the sprite anyhow, so that shouldn't be an issue".
He was about to leave when yet another abnormality occurred. An elf was dragged, kicking and screaming into the camp. It seemed that he had been more affected by the madness than Balfnaught. Either that... or he was mad to begin with. Balfnaught stared in surprise at this elf. He really was different to the ancient, wise beings of his homeland. Strangely, Pandora changed size and darted towards the elf, taking his hat for some reason. That reason quickly became clear when he saw the eyes placed in the roses.
"The fairy's eyes" He mused to himself. The girl started to glow, and he felt magic pour from her.
"Oh" He said, addressing the elf "You must be the one who took her eyes. I would not normally have an issue with this, as you simply exercised your right as one of the "strong" but in this case, I like the fairy more than I like you. I guess you can just call it bad luck. It is the right of the strong to do as they please, and I'm the strongest there is."

Captain Andellson leveled his openly displease gaze at Ander. "A blind man coulda' se'n dat ligh'." He spoke with a deliberately patronizing tone, as if Ander had just asked him if he knew the sky was blue. He was an expert at not showing it, but he hmwas becoming a bit worried as Ander edged closer the his cabin door before asking another question. It was obvious to Mikkel that Ander had every intention of searching his quarters.

Beyond the door, Deidrick sighed heavily, and rubbed his temple. Looks like he was gonna have to say hello to the masses. Might as well be prepared. Seidrick gauged his current mana reserves and frowned; he probably couldn't afford to call enough lightning to battle a mage, so he'd have to get creative. Luckily, creative is what he did best, according to his Drama teacher, at least.

Drawing magic from his scarf, Deidrick called up four fairy lights and shifted the colors and brightness until they emulated the daylight and would nearly disappear in it. Guiding the lights mentally, he placed them at his back and mentally linked them to the same thought that kept his scarf aloft. Keeping a close eye one his shrinking manapool, he gathered a handful of fairy dust and levitated it over the doorway.

Finally, he lifted his chair and turned it to face the door before setting it back down. Heiden rested his head omin Deidrick's lap, sensing his unease. "It'll be fine, buddy. I am a goddess, after all." He rubbed away his worries as he scratched Heiden's head and stared at the door. As he waited, he straightened his posture, lifted his chin, and let the calm, knowing, smile hed been practicing fall over his features. Ready to brighten the fairy dust on himself at a moments notice, Deidrick took one last look at his mana. Let's get this over with.

Leliana had seen enough. She'd have to avoid the specific two men, as both seemed a bit strong, and she was feeling a bit lazy to get in a fight, plus she didn't know what they were capable of. Leliana bristled her raven black feathers, which shone a dark blue in the sunlight, and almost seemed to narrow her eyes at the man whom seemed to smile animalisticaly at her. She wasn't impressed, but she'd make a point of avoiding him nonetheless.

Khaos's arrival was a good distraction for the time being. These people were foreigners, which made her all the more curious as to how they got here. She needed to find out where she was. Now.

Leliana flew off in the direction of a tent on the outskirts and opposite end of the camp from the one who had smiled at her. She wanted her interrogation to go unnoticed. She flew into a tent and disappeared from sight after seeing a lone bandit walk in there...

Panting, an elf collapsed on the hardwood floor of his humble cabin. "Finally," he whispered to himself, "finally I have acquired one of the few books I have yet to read in this world..." Forcing himself up into a kneeling position, the elf stared intensely at the book and prepared to absorb the words he'd longed to for a good while. Opening the book, he placed his thin long fingers onto the paper and realized for once the words were beyond his comprehension entirely. No language he'd mastered not heard even whispers of laid across the book's leathery pages. Words indeed were there, but not of any sort that even the elf's Word Absorbion ability could begin to remotely come to grips with. Just as he was falling into a state of utter confusion, the air surrounding him thinned out until he couldn't breathe. Choking and trying to get outside of his cabin desperately, he tumbled down his steps and everything went black for a good while and it was just him and an abyss.

With a jolt, the lanky elf awoke with his long rusty hair covering his face almost entirely. Brushing it aside and over his shoulders, he began to sit upright and take in his surroundings. The air smelled oddly refreshing and it was somewhat thinner than that of his home. "Calm," he told himself, "I must stay calm or else no information will be gained and no good may come." Tenderly he rubbed his throat where, seemingly moments before, the breath had been stolen from him. His insides ached a little but he was sure it wasn't something that would require anything more than a good rest. His surroundings were a foresty sort. Not any forest he'd been in before, that was for sure; but it was indeed a forest. "I need to know, where water flows, and populace grows, as are no foes." A sweet small melody broke forth yet nothing responded to it. Further confused, the elf sighed and instead began meandering through the forest to try and find some source of water. "So my magic either stopped working or it's laws are different here... wherever here is," he muttered to himself.

Angelo listened and watched as the bone man spoke. The princess didn't go get reinforcements as Glory had directed, Calcifer and the man with him fidgeted and moved behind him, the flesh wolf positioned himself in front of him, and the bone man retained his place. Angelo slowly moved his position to make sure he could keep his eyes on everyone in the room in case someone tried something. As he listened to the bone man, Angelo caught the man bring out what looked like an eye if some sort from a bag. "I'm a magician," Angelo said to himself "Don't you try and slight of hand me." Although he caught the move, he brought no attention to it. When he acted it would be quick and decisive.

As Angelo was about to respond to the bone man's words there was a quick interjection by Calcifer and the others. There was a moment of discord, and then a rapid escalation of the situation by Calcifer. Angelo watched as Calcifer held out his staff and, Angelo assumed, began to use some kind of magic. At the same time he saw Glory look back at Calcifer and then at Lilith, her eyes begging for the girl to leave. When Angelo saw Glory shift her weight he knew it was time to bring the situation back under control.

"Well lets do this quickly," Angelo thought. He then in rapid succession grabbed various beliefs that he had learned about since entering. "First, I will grab Glory's belief that anti-magic fields can be created," Angelo added waiting to see if his power would actually click, and when it did he went to the next "Next is the man's ability to control bones, and last is Calcifer's belief that an anti-magic field could be nullified." When those abilities clicked as well, Angelo caused the next series of events before Glory could take her first step towards the bone man and his wolf.

Angelo gave himself resistance from anti-magic fields and then cast his own anti-magic field around every other person in the room. After that, he used his control of bones to lock everyone's bodies in place while forcing Calcifer to drop his staff and kick it over to him. At the same time he controlled the bone man's bones so that he would crush what ever he had pulled out of the bag in his hand and so that the bone knife slid out of his other hand as well. Last, he jettisoned the bones of the wolf creature out of its body and stacked them across the door way."

Angelo quickly calculated everything he made happen and made sure that he had not missed anything. He worked on back up plans in case something went wrong, but he felt like he was in a good enough position now to talk. This was a good thing for him, because his compulsion was in full effect now. He unlocked everyone's jaws so they could talk, but kept everything else in stasis.

"Now that that is done," Angelo proclaimed as he picked up Calcifer's staff "I think it's my turn to talk. You really wanted to jump the gun Calcifer." Angelo then turned back to the bone man before speaking again. "Sorry about the hand crushing thing and all," Angelo added "You slight of handed that into your hand, so I took that as an act of aggression. Sorry if it was not, but it looked like you were trying to be sneaky."

Anyway, now that we are at a forced stalemate of sorts, I will get to answering your question. First, I will say that your belief is literally made for tyrants. Based on what you have told me, Calcifer has done nothing wrong. Potential is nothing unless it is realized. You talk about how some have more potential than others, Calcifer has literally gone from however he started out to ruling this kingdom. He even managed to summon you, a being from another world. Right now he is limitless potential. Also to that effect if the person dies their potential ends and by that reasoning the guy who is alive has more potential, since there is more that they can achieve. To bring this full circle, since he killed someone of lesser potential, by your reasoning, it is excusable. If it wasn't you should kill yourself for killing those men earlier, if you did actually kill them, I only saw the armor and made a guess. Anyway that is my little bit on that subject, I'm guessing there is more to your belief that adds some clarity, so I would love to talk to you about it more later."

"As for why do I support Calcifer without knowing the circumstances, my answer is that I don't. The one I support is this lovely woman next to me who is too kind and dutiful for her own good. She helped me, a stranger she found in a barn, and was kind enough to offer what she had so I could have a better place to sleep while I got back on my feet. She just happens to put her service of the kingdom over her own personal feelings, and I respect that stupid or not."

"I asked to talk because I didn't know the circumstances, and I like to have information before I do rash and stupid things. I came here to see if Calcifer was a bad as I was hearing, and now I know. Based on your testimony and how the little girl was reacting since the start, I realize that he is basically scum." Angelo took a moment to cause the bones in Calcifer's chest to splinter and skewer his organs. "The real question is how I should proceed with the rest of the people in this room?"

Zeke's Liotre

It took Zekes a few moments to understand that it was Angelo controlling something, and a moment more to realize it was his bones. It took less time than that for other glyphs within his form to prevent the necessary linkages of power to effect his bones. He shivered slightly, a chill coming over him to more or less explain that his runes had overridden the bone based control, and left him in control of his own actions. He slid the beholder eye away, as his hand hadn't even tensed, thus, not even attempting to crush it. He crossed his arms over his chest and stared at Angelo with a very sour expression on his face.

"That, was entirely uncalled for and rude sir. I ought to tear your ribcage out through your throat, but I imagine you'd learn nothing from it." He said harshly at Angelo, rebuking him for using his skills without the foreknowledge needed to use them wisely, "In all honesty, I had this entire situation under control. Even the moron there didn't know I had it in hand." He motioned to Calcifer, who, due to Zekes' interference, would still be alive at current, his rib cage would be fighting between obeying Angelo, who's skill would be using an uneducated amount of force to cause the damage it was attempting to, and Zekes' spell, which had a master level necromancer controlling the spell. In honesty, it would be up to whichever of them ceased, or ran out of spell-force.

Zekes' various artifacts would last several millennia.

"There's a severe difference here between us young man. I speak not of power, or skill, as I can see you have quite a few tricks up your sleeve, and probably many more. The difference, is that you walked in here without a plan. Where's I walked in here with several contingencies." Zekes growled out.

It wasn't that he disliked Angelo, it was that he disliked being used in a way that wasn't of his choosing, and as such, Angelo gained his ire for the time being. Drawing his dagger inwards, Zekes slammed the point of it into his palm, releasing a torrent of blood to mix with the dog, who, due to it's connection to Zekes, was still unaffected, similar to how Zekes was unaffected. The torrent of blood sealed Zekes new wound as it arced into the dog, and instantly caused the beast to erupt, spraying gore across the room. The blood, flesh, and bone, would collide with every surface in the room instantly, and Zekes forced it to travel at a rate faster than it would be tracked easily. There would, however, be no impact force from the explosion. Zekes rotated his wrist in a circle, and the blood orb formed once more beside him, drawing the gore from across the room into it.

The explosion, was a distraction, one he was quite good at, as was stabbing his own hand to cause it. The torrent of blood, again, another distraction, a true sleight of hand, as his dagger was now gone, having slid back into his own form, and merged with his own bone matter. The orb condensed, and narrowed into a staff, one which Zekes took readily into his grasp. He turned towards Angelo, pointed the head of the staff towards him. "I'd ask that you relinquish the use of the power you're currently coveting. It's not safe to tap into my abilities, be it passively, or otherwise. It draws the attentions of those that would cause you to doom all of us to eternal suffering the likes of which you cannot comprehend. I use what skills I do carefully, and with great cost to myself. For a novice in their arts to use them so brashly is to invite certain doom upon this entire world." Zekes scolded Angelo, as a wizened teacher might scold is pupil.

"But I digress, You may proceed with murdering the reagent, once I'm through with him that is." Zekes explained in a much softer tone.

Lone Bandit in the Tent

With a grunt, Two-Eyes One Nose sat down heavily on the floor of his tent. He wasn't a very impressive bandit to say the least, nor was he very smart or heroic. He'd spent his entire life scrounging from the scraps of those more powerful, and as a result, he was your typical, run of the mill, idiot, with little to no common sense or proper intelligence about him. What he did know, was that everyone around him was acting crazy, that they were all following the new warlord without question or direction. Two Eyes One Nose was simpler than that. He knew better than to follow a warlord, he was "Smart," he followed his captain, who, in turn followed the warlord. Issue was, the captain was out in the woods, which left Two Eyes One Nose a lot of time to himself.

"Wot's a guy to do enyways... Capn's left me to rot, might as well do somfing wot I like doin." he muttered to himself quietly as he pulled a chunk of wood and a small carving knife out of his pocket.

The large simple man set to work carving the piece carefully, making tiny cuts as he altered the shape of the burl of wood into the likeness of a bear, who had a floppy left ear, and whos right ear stuck up slightly. After a few moments, he held it back and stared at it releasing a satisfied sigh.

"I fink I'll call you Charlie. You be a good bear, and play nice with your other friends." He muttered to the wooden bear as he placed it on a small shelf with several other figurines he had carved.

It was about then he noticed Leliana, "Oh lookit... A bird... Innit that somfin. Ello little bird. How're you?" He asked in an almost comical way.

Ms. Sparrow Ms. Sparrow

(I amused myself so greatly writing this...)

Leliana, whom had followed just after he entered the tent, entered just as the lone bandit took a seat. She flew down into the ground and watched the bandit to observe him. Black beady eyes watched the bandit with curiosity and amusement. He wasn't the brightest sort it seemed. His speech would've had him disowned or even killed from where she came from, but she supposed that wasn't how it was here. Or perhaps it was, and that was why he was a lowly bandit living in the middle of nowhere.

She'd get answers soon enough.

Leliana was always one to observe, plan and think. She looked at things from every angle unless it was a life or death situation. She was doing the same with the bandit. She couldn't attack him, or he'd scream and she'd be swarmed by thugs, and considering magic was a bit harder to use here, she didn't want to test her bigger forms last minute, and pass out from exhaustion in the middle of battle.

She watched him carve out the wood figure, observing the way he wood his hand, his fingerwork and the way he held the knife and determined how well he would do in battle, or how well he would wield a blade. As she watched him talk to the wooden bear and place him with the other figurines, Leliana couldn't help but sense he was a bit lonely.

Which was absolutely perfect, because that meant he had no friends to interrupt their little chat. Finally it seemed the bandit noticed her, and asked her a question. She wondered if he normally talked to birds. And if he did, was he disappointed when they didn't reply back?

Leliana flew off the ground and unto the table in front of him. She cocked her feathered head up at him before she would disappear in front of him in a cloud of black smoke.

In a few mere seconds later, she would be sitting cross legged on the table in front of the bandit, eyes glowing gold from her pulsing magic, long red waves framing her face, she gazed at him with scrutiny before she instantly unsheathed a dagger and pressed it to his lips. "Don't scream, or I'll rip your own heart out of your chest. Something I'm very good at." Leliana said in a low voice, no longer trying to keep the accent from her voice.

Ander-

The mage paused and set his cold eyes upon the Captain "do not patronize me I could easily have you arrested" he said coldly and walked over to him making sure to tower over the captain.

"How well do you think a seaman would do locked away in a tower on land? Do you think he'd go crazy? Shall we find out?" he asked with a low chuckle and nodded to one of the guards who walked over to the captain's quarters and opened the door.

"I am a mage after all... let alone a mage of lord Calcifer, did you really think I wouldn't notice or to say the least wouldn't be able to sense such magic upon your vessel?" Ander asked tsking the captain

The mage quickly turned from the captain to the door and grinned seeing Deidrick sitting in a chair almost expectantly.

"Well Captain who do we have here? A stow away?" he questioned

Ander raised his hand for the guards to stop as the started to make their way over to the doorway. The mage knew better. He had captured many magic users in the past and this would be know different in fact he would be even more cautious.

"Come on out... we won't hurt you." He stated calmly.

Guards in the forest-

The guards just stood there in utter shock with the two they had just up and leaving. "damn magic users" the captain muttered and sighed pulling his men out towards the capital. they were all nervous to return to the castle empty handed. However as luck would have it they saw an odd looking person. Actually it looked like the other they previously had with the pointed ears.

"you there.... Hault!" she captain shouted as they made their way to the unknown man in hopes of being able to bring this on in to not have to deal with the wrath of Calcifer.

Hearing a voice, the elf stopped abruptly and turned to match a face to the voice. A few men dressed like guards approached and seemed to be trouble for some reason. Never doubting his gut instinct, the elf wondered if he should run to escape probable danger or if he should play nice to try and learn more about where he was and what it's laws of magic were. The latter would be more dangerous indefinitely since he had no idea how to use his magic in this new land, but he would need to find out as soon as possible what was going on, what to expect, and how to integrate within whatever sort of society lay here. Of course he planned on returning home, but only after maybe a few centuries of learning about this world. Calmly, the elf stayed in place and directed a warm smile at the approaching men. "If I may, I'd like to inquire just how magic works here." After a moment of silence he added on, "Oh and I'd like to know where exactly I am- memory seems to have failed me almost entirely.." Of course the memory shtick was only a facade to aid the elf in getting information without hopefully too many questions in return, but lies as such seemed to do no harm.

Captain Andellson bit the inside of his cheek as Ander stepped stepped close to him. For all his teasing, he was well aware of the pull the mage had, and while he was unafraid, his crew was not. He bit down harder on his cheek as Ander threatened to trap him on land. He hated how well Ander Marshall knew him. Staying on land away from water was bad enough, but being unable to travel while on land would be torture. These were the thoughts that were playing through his head as he stood stoically and watched as Deidrick was discovered.

Deidrick couldn't help the slight tremor of excitement that shivered up his spine as the door swung open; he got the same shivers his first time on-stage, in front of an audience. 'Giv'em a good show Princess.' Remembering the encouraging words of the backstage coordinator then, Deidrick brightened the glow of his ambient fairy dust just as he was fully revealed. Deidrick gave the mage a knowing smile as he rose from his chair gracefully and continued to rise until he was levitating a few inched above the floor. With Heiden at his side, Deidrick floated calmly out of the captain's quarters and mentally called the ball of fairy dust down behind him as he passed the doorway.

"I have nothing to fear from you, Ander Marshall." Deidrick spoke in a practiced but effortless regal tone, and made sure to give his voice a soft lilting quality that made you want to hang on every word. "You mean me no ill will, and it would be wise to maintain that sentiment." He was careful to keep his tone neutral, as if he were merely medium through which a greater presence spoke.

"Goddess-" Captain Andellson started before Deidrick held up a hand to quiet him.

"The deed has already been done, Captain, and I do not recall asking for you to smuggle me onto land like a crate of illegal goods. Please, see to your crew while I... commune with Ander." His dismissal was gentle but solid, and Mikkel bowed once before doing as he was told. "Now, I believe you wished to meet me, Ander. Care to explain your motivations?" He spoke a question, but the command was implicit as he sat softly upon Heiden's back.

Mage and Guards-

The mage tensed slightly and looked at the captain as he called this being a goddess. The gods hadn't been around or heard from since the beginning of time and he was unsure if it could be possible for the goddess to be here now. Not letting on any emotion or surprise he smiled as Deidrick made his way over.

"It is not I who wish to meet you... goddess?" he questioned eyeing Deidrick up and down "but rather Lord Calcifer who wishes.

"You see he has summoned all magic users to his court, you would be a guest of honor." he stated with a smile after all it was more or less true. "If you would be so kind and follow me to the castle... there is a place already prepared for you to lodge." he added while turning on his heel towards the gangplank to leave. He wanted off the ship. Just as the captain hated being on land he hated being on water.

Guards in the forest-

The Captain looked at the elf curiously and realized this definitely was one of the summoned but he still didn't understand how there were so many summoned when only one book was sent out. That book was to grab the most powerful and yet there seemed to be others that were not from here.

"Lord Calcifer can explain all of the laws of magic he is the great sorcerer here." the captain said starting to lead the way towards the capital. "Any magic users are being summoned to an audience with him." he stated casually.

"It is clear you are not from here, perhaps you were brought here by a book?" The captain asked hopeful.

Somewhat skeptical but also far too curious, he decided he would indeed simply allow himself to be taken to this 'Calcifer' person. He sounded like a powerful man, and the guards seemed to regard him rather highly so he assumed the man must've been high up in this society or something similar. The mention of a book bringing him here brought his thoughts to the book he'd tried to comprehend before losing his consciousness and waking here. "Yes, actually. I was attempting to read one of the last books I hadn't read from my world and an odd occurrence took place. Odd indeed, and it seems to have sent me here... wherever exactly here is." Ailill thought on it a moment, trying to piece together what could have given the book the capability to send him here, continuing to follow the guards as his thoughts trailed off.

"What has led you to believe that this discussion is over, Ander?" Deidrick allowed a trace of frost to enter his words as he mentally command that ball of fairy dust to become a wall in front of hims that he sent forward. The intangible wall passed around Ander, surreptitiously coating him in a dim layer of fairy dust before halting just beyond the gangplank and taking the shape of a locked door. "I remember a time when mortals showed me respect and averted their eyes from my visage." Ander may hide it well, but Deidrick knew his alien clothing and appearance had birthed a certain degree of uncertainty in the mage just like the crew of Fairy's Favor; he planned to mold and bend that uncertainty in his favor. "It would seem that you are mistaken on several key facts. Allow me a moment to correct you." Without taking his eyes off of Ander, Deidrick called the chair from the captain's quarters and set it down, facing him, several feet away. There was a poignant pause as Deidrick pretended to get distracted with petting Heiden. It was obvious that he was giving Ander time to decide how to proceed.

"First, you believe me to have been summoned by this 'Lord' Calcifer. The truth is that I felt his spell call out and found myself intrigued to investigate in a more personal fashion. Of course, it has been a moment since I've claimed a vessel, and there were... complications." Deidrick's tone was genuinely embarrassed as he remembered the micro sun. He quickly recovered and continued speaking "Second, if Calcifer were truly aware of my presence, he would not have sent a haughty child, and a gaggle of toy soldiers, to waylay my conveyance. I may not be as quick to demand reverence as my siblings, but there is a base level of care I expect to be taken." Here Deidrick softened his voice again "Thirdly, and most importantly, I am no mere mortal playing at power. I am power. If that means magic to you mortals, so be it, but do not forget that." Deidrick spoke with complete confidence here. On his world, fairies are, in fact, beings of pure energy given physical form.

Ander and Guards-

The mage paused and raised an eyebrow slowly turning towards Deidrick as he spoke. He turned back only to see a locked door in front of the gangplank. "I see" he muttered to himself and sighed turning completely back around and crossed his arms over his chest casually.

"I see..." Ander paused clearly searching for any sign of lie from this being but he really had nothing to go off of.

"Forgive me...." he started to say and glared as Deidrick referenced him to be a haughty child, after all he was one of the top mage's of the court.

"well, goddess...." he started out carefully. "surely you would want the best we have to offer... and that would be at the palace." he said At this point all he wanted to do was get Deidrick to the castle and leave the rest to Calcifer if this be a goddess then it'd be the king's problem and not his. unfortunately for now it was his problem and he ahd a job to do.

Deidrick smirked internally as he noticed Ander being put on the defensive. Getting under the mage's skin was actually easier than he'd thought. Now that he was a bit more sure of his position, Deidrick decided to ease up on the pressure; if he pushed Ander too much, the mage may react with magic that could overwhelm him. Softening his features and the voice, Deidrick gave Ander a forgiving smile. "It is with humility that man can begin to learn from his mistakes." Rising from Heiden's back and moving across the deck of the ship smoothly, Deidrick stood in front of Captain and gave the man a glowing smile as the tall Captain bowed before kneeling fully; the rest of the crew followed suit. "I must take my leave of your fine vessel Captain, but I thank you, and your crew, for your service and will return to visit my blessings upon you further." As he addressed the Captain, and the entire ship through him, the Captain's chair returned itself to the cabin, whose door softly shut afterwards.

"The thanks is all mine to give, Goddess Fae. For your forgiveness and boundless kindness. To one day be in your presence will be blessing enough." Mikkel hazarded a gaze up at Deidrick before glancing down again. The goddess had begun to give off a vibrant glow that hurt to look directly upon. Deidrick merely gave a slight chuckle before patting Heiden's head and motioning for the cloud fox to return to his master; the fox did as he was told with obvious trepidation. He moaned slightly at being separated from Deidrick before falling silent.

"I will bless you with a lighter ship and sails that call the winds. Invoke my name when your need is great, and my blessings will heed you." Resting his hand in the air just above Mikkel's head without touching it for a few seconds, Deidrick turned from the Captain an strode towards Ander. As he walked, he gathered all the ambient magic left on the ship and the air and condensed it into fairy dust that hung in the air. Controlling the dust with a practiced ease, he bid the dust to embed itself into the wood of the ship and the ship's sails. Using Deidrick's goddess name as a trigger, the dust would make the ship light enough to fly above the water,a s long as there was wind to carry it. As the last of the extra dust settled, the glow around Deidrick dimmed noticeably but remained visible. Of course, the four fairy lights he'd prepared remained hidden behind his back amongst the curves of his scarf, and the door made of fairy dust collapsed and collected around the pendant of his choker before appearing to be absorbed into it.

Deidrick gave a slightly entertained smile as he noted the surprised expressions of the guards and the crowd he'd drawn from around the port from the moment he' exited the Captian's cabin. Things were going a bit better than he'd anticipated. He hadn't even needed to use his fairy lights or call lightning. Yet. I must stay vigilant. I don't trust this mage. Deidrick gazed up into Ander's eyes with a questioning expression. "Care to lead the way, Ander Marshall? I am ready to depart." Deidrick had a twinkle in his eye as he spoke.

Ander watched Deidrick as he gave blessing to the captain with a slight roll of the eyes he lead the way off of the ship and towards the castle. The guards followed. Normally guards would be ahead in an escort but since Ander was a mage they covered his back and left him to be on the defensive if need be. As of late there really was no reason for it. Aside from this goddess no other magic users were around.

"Do you require any rest or food when we arrive?" Ander finally asked.

The mage stood tall and proud but kept his step in slight behind the goddess to show his respect for the time being. He was acting more like a butler than a powerful mage. He would play along for now after all goddess or not he didn't know how much power Deidrick actually possessed and therefore couldn't accurately assess the outcome of a fight. Unlike other mages he was very careful not to rush into battle with the unknown.

He didn't want to make the goddess sound ignorant and so decided to let Deidrick ask questions if he had any as they entered the capital city of Aylin.

----------
The guards looked at the elf and lead the way to the castle. "You are in Ariael Kingdom, currently in Ellwood forest. We are making our way to the castle which is in the capital city of Aylin." One of the guards explained to the elf.

They weren't deep in the forest and fairly close to Aylin as they led the elf to the castle.
-------

Ander paused in his step as they reached the castle and saw a few other guards with an interesting looking man. He watched as they approached.

"what are you doing?" Ander asked the captain.

"following orders of course." the captain stated

Ander looked at the elf creature and then looked at Deidrick. As far as he knew there was only one book sent out to retrieve the most powerful magic user in the world. If that was this ear pointed man then.... "she really is a goddess" he whispered under his breath his face slightly pale.

"Who is with-" the captain began to ask noticing Deidrick.

"Ander! Captain!" a shout came from a servant boy.

Both the men turned to see the small child running out in a panic it made the guards go on defensive while the two waited for him to speak.

"Something's gone wrong.... The prisoner he is loose and killed many guards... and is in the throne room... and Glory is here and-"

"Slow down." Ander said his eyes dark as he looked to the castle doors. He closed his eyes and began to filter through the castle until he came to the throne room. There he saw a rather gory display. He came backwards through the rooms and back to where he was standing now and opened his eyes.

"Throne room now!" he yelled and turned back to Deidrick "I'm afraid we are under attack m'lady. Perhaps you..." he stammered with words "being a goddess and all.... you... could be of assistance?" he finished the question. His eyes looked to the elf as well and could sense the power coming from him but it had yet to be unlocked. "We haven't much time." he said and ran into the castle towards the throne room.

The reaction of the lead bandit would seem super-human, moving her body towards Cefrey in such a way that she used the blast to hurtle herself into the girl, she elbowed the girl in the chest with her leading arm with a blow so severe it would crack multiple ribs. Her trailing hand came up to Cefrey's throat, her ironlike grip would crush the girls windpipe painfully.

"Bind us both! Now! Someone grab her instrument! It's her item!" she shouted loudly, deaf as she was at the time.

Were Cefrey to manage to dodge her, which would be unlikely, the remaining bandits were preparing to move in on her rapidly. Were she unable to, the leader of the bandits would be atop her, one arm pushing down on her torso, her other hand still gripping Cefrey's throat, holding her windpipe closed with enough force to block the bloodflow to her brain long enough for her to black out. In addition, she would be holding her breath for as long as she could to gauge how long it would take to render Cefrey unconscious, letting her breath out only when her lungs would begin to burn as her comrades tied Cefrey and her together, leaving the bandit leaders arms just barely able to move, and Cefrey utterly disabled.

Ailill Daly

Making it a point to remember the names of places, Ailill whispered to himself the names almost inaudibly. Curiosity- as per usual- was rising up within him. He wondered if he would even be able to use his magic with whatever laws this world held for it. For all he knew, his magical abilities could be rendered entirely useless in any endeavors here. Another thought that came was of the lord he was being led to. Calcifer. From the sounds of it, he was in a position of rather important power so he couldn't help but wonder if he was the reason he'd found that dusty ancient book that dragged him here.

Before he could think to ask the guards a few of his inner questions, others crossed paths. A short exchange of words was made between guards and a man who, moments later, was called Ander by some boy. Ailill couldn't help but stare at a strange looking person along with the other group. For some reason, he felt awfully similar in some regard although Ailill couldn't pinpoint it.

Panicked voices tore him from his daydreaming and brought him back to reality. Something was going down in the throne room- something about a loose prisoner killing people. Truly, he wanted to help them with their problem. So he ran after and followed, trying to figure things out as they went. He shouted at the stranger with the odd clothes,
"How does one use their magic in this land? I cannot assist unless I know..!"

Arachnos

The elder god took several steps forward, taking Khaos' neck in his grasp, he raised him up above his head and stared at him with an odd, cruel, pleasured glint in his eyes, his lips were pulled back in a relaxed, yet feral grin. He gave the elf a hard shaking, and by hard shaking, it was more akin to a large dog, getting ahold of a rabbit and thrashing it until it was dead. Of course, Arachnos was well versed in torture, he knew exactly what it took to break someone's neck, knew exactly what it was to kill a man with his bare hands, and how fragile the elven folk were. He held Khaos firmly and shook him so rapidly few would understand the feat of controlled forced being applied to the elf. He began to laugh sadistically as he slammed Khaos into the ground forcefully. Resistance or otherwise, Arachnos' sheer physical might would be far more than the now powerless elf would be able to contend with, and at that point, he greatly doubted Khaos would be able to resist the next torment that was coming to him.

As Chaos' form hit the ground, Arachnos would mount him in a straddle, his knees pinning the smaller being's arms at the elbows, he would begin to beat him savagely with his open hands, slapping him upside the face repeatedly as he let his sadistic laughter fill the camp. This wasn't a show of force for Arachnos, it wasn't something meant to scare anyone, it wasn't him showing how tough he was. It was pure, unfiltered, fury, held back only by his keen mind and calculating logic. Witnessing the hat that Khaos had made of Pandora's eyes set something off in the old god, it was as though a memory had been sparked in him from long ago, from a time before he had made his mark on his own universe, when all he knew was his siblings, and that his eldest brother, Ordos, taught him in the very same way he was now teaching Khaos. He continued to beat the elf's face, until blood would stream from his nose, from between his lips, and from multiple contusions in his eye sockets and the bleeding from the damage of his eardrums. All that would be heard in the camp alongside Arachnos' laughter, would be the meaty packing sounds as his hands collided with Khaos' face, time and time again in a steady rhythm of torturous beating.

Lifting up off of Khaos, Arachnos took several steps back, raising his hand up over Khaos, he turned to the bandits assembled, that had watched the beating silently, "Let it be known, to any who comes to know of me. That while destruction and chaos are what I harbor, I do not condone the torture and abuse of unique, and chaotic beings, and let it be spread far and wide, that this, is merely the beginning of tortures to be wrought upon a single being who has laid harm to one within my liking." Arachnos roared out, his voice somehow steady, and still holding a presence of command fit for few kings, and fit for even fewer men.

He turned from Khaos form, and stepped away, "String him up in a tent near my own, I will attend to him once more later." he spat out with a growl.

As he walked past Balfnaught once more, he glanced at the dragon in the form of a man, "It's less that I needed a reason to do it, and more that the whelp deserves far worse." he muttered cruelly.
