Prrrgadilly
True Gramarye
Warm. It was warm and furry, and breathing. Wait, his bed wasn't furry, and it certainly didn't breath. Besides, his room didn't smell like sandalwood, musk, and leather. Wait a minute...
Deidrick opened his eyes and stared up at a wooden ceiling and noted the soft breathing from a weight lying on his stomach. Breathing deeply to keep himself calm, Deidrick sorted through his tangled thoughts and the vague memories he had from his previous awakenings. Once he'd remembered the three other times he'd awoken, the event leading up to his present state filled his mind. Son of a bitch... Deidrick gave an internal sigh as he thought about the strange book, the obviously dimensional transport, and his magic going haywire. There was no way this was going to be a walk in the park; knowing his track record with magic. Deidrick groaned as he tried to mentally prepare himself for whatever trouble he'd managed to find this time. "Kilowitz is so dead." He croaked out and started slightly as the weight on his stomach disappeared and his face vision was filled with fur.
"Oh, hello there." He his voice croaked slightly less now. The fur receded enough for him to make out a face. The face proceeded to sniff around his face before turning it's head away from Deidrick and giving a loud, dog-like yip. "I'm guessing that to tell someone I'm awake huh?"
"It is indeed goddess. I am glad to see you are well enough to speak. I am first mate Adam McKinley, and that is Heiden, a cloud fox. You are currently resting the captain's quarters aboard the Fairy's Favor. My apologies for your inappropriate treatment upon your arrival." Adam approached with a cup of water in his hand and offered it to Deidrick without drawing to close. "Again apologies, but if you are indeed awake, there is a matter that requires you attention." Adam refused to meet Deidrick's eyes and kept himself bent at the waist, out of respect.
Deidrick downed the cup of water quickly and instantly felt more refreshed. Inspecting Heiden as Adam spoke, he scratched behind Heiden's horns and was rewarded with a deep purring. "I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you need me to deal with the fact that this ship is currently floating some 30ft above the water and is steadily rising. Alright, let's head outside, and see the damage" Deidrick made a move to leave the bed that Heiden was curled upon, and was startled into a small yelp as the cloud fox rolled around underneath him until he was draped across the creature's strong back. "Uhhh ok, forward Heiden." The cloud fox gave a snort in Adam's direction, who followed the duo, as they left the room and strode onto the deck.
"Goddess, you seem well. I am glad. I-I would like to apologize for my disrespectful manner earlier. I was startled by your sudden appearance and reacted poorly. I am Captain Mikkel Andellson. Please understand that this is not usually how I would greet one of your... magnificence." The tall, dark, and handsome captain approached Deidrick cautiously stopping a fair distance away and bowed, like Adam he kept his eyes downcast. Beyond the captain, Deidrick saw the rest of the ship's crew follow suit.
So, not only am I in a different world, or dimension, they think I'm a god...dess? Deidrick rolled his eyes as he looked down at himself. Well, to be fair I do still have a 13 year old body, for the most part. I guess it can't hurt to let them keep on thinking that. Deidrick cleared his throat. "I will accept you apology Captain Andellson. I understand that my arrival would have been greatly disconcerting. Now, I believe you are trying to avoid asking me directly to reverse the magic done to your ship, and I will gladly grant you that blessing; for a price." He paused to let his words sink in and noticed the slight tensing of Andellson's shoulders. "First, you will stop this bowing. Nothing productive was ever done in a god's name while a mortal's nose was pressed to the dirt." Geez, I sound like Mrs. Kartweiller giving a history lesson. "Second, I require information. It would seem that my knowledge of this plane is...insufficient. Third, I will require transport."
"Of course, Your Radiance. Anything you need, we will do our best to provide."Andellson's shoulders relaxed and the the entire crew straightened, but they continued to avert their gazes.
"Very well, I will remedy this situation presently." In truth, it was a simple fix. All Deidrick needed to do was open himself up and call the ambient magic back inside. There was a great deal of power still inside the fairy dust in a 2 mile radius, which was just as good seeing how low Deidrick's reserves now were. I won't be making anymore sun clones anytime soon. Reaching for his magic, Deidrick struck the same barrier as before, and his brow knit until the image of his scarf flashed into his vision. Drawing from the scarf instead of directly from his magic, Deidrick reached his magic, cautiously. Siphoning the magic from the fairy dust, Deidrick began to glow as his scarf floated behind his head before draping down his shoulders and wrapping around his arms, to drape down a few inches below his feet; it wasn't wrapped as lightly around his person as usual. His glow intensified as the ship began to sink slowly, and the unnaturally calm weather began to turn stormy once more. Deidrick felt the eyes of the crew staring at him in wonder as the ship swiftly, but smoothly, returned to the waters. Deidrick left just enough fairy dust in the clouds to keep it from raining onto the ship.
The glow around Deidrick faded, though his scarf remained airborne, and Heiden turned towards Andellson and Mckinley, who, like the rest of the crew, were staring at Deidrick in open astonishment before remembering themselves, looking down, and returning to their posts. "Now, on to the second order of business; information." As the Fairy's Favor turned to towards port, and set sail once again, Deidrick spent the time drawing information out of the crew about the word he was now in. Someone had a lot of explaining to do, and the sailors were only the tip of the iceberg. And I've seen Titanic.
