This is also why she is vampiric, she can withdraw a person's blood and thus take more iron to keep herself stable. And the other guards are basically wearing futuristic suits capable of withstanding a few knife blows or perhaps even bullets.

When I was little, my mom worked at a hospital. Due to her and my dad working opposite shiftf, she would take to work work during her shift, which was in the middle of the Goddamn night. Anyway, they were so used to me there, that if I wandered off, they would either buy me food from the cafeteria, or return me to my mom.
