Futuristic The League of Mutants

"Kekekekeke..." Secret watched as the raccoon creature left, he had smelled blood.. And Secret was hungry. "Kekekekeke..." He moved a little out and watched the light. "Time will go.. Time will pass... Secrets never go.. Kekekekekeke..." The creature lowered down letting one of it's tongues touch one of the small droplets of blood. "Kekakekak.. Secret hungers.. " As soon as the thing appeared it had disappeared, but it lingered for a while, watching the raccoon leave "Kekekekeke.. Flesh unbound flesh unchained.. Thiefs hand will be cut.." The ghastly mutant entered a nearby house, soon after he spinned his web of lies and secrets inside one of the abandoned house's rooms. "Await, await we shall.. Hunger will torment.. Hunger will be pleased... Kekekeke.." The spider mutant slowly curled up in it's web, it didn't sleep it was waiting.. For a prey to come or for nightfall.

Avery had watched bemused as Jarek practically punted Nickkel from the room and locked the door, his face red and full of confusion and embarrassment. She turned away as Jarek sat again, kicking her clothes into a pile, and then the last thing she expected happened; he grabbed her tail. It wasn't a violent yank, but she still yelped, shocked. He was playing with her tail! Avery blushed and shot him an incredulous look.

"D-don't do that! Idiot!" She scolded. Her tail was thee most sensitive part of her body, and also what tended to dictate her mood. Jarek was practically stroking her tail, and... It felt pretty good actually. Avery purred quietly and then flushed an even darker shade of red. Oh gawd I did not just do that... Snapping out of it, Avery stepped out of arms reach only to tackle Jarek back. She growled.

"Don't touch my tail, rabbit!"

Jarek smiled as he played with her tail, suddenly she spoke up. "Don't do that? Oh.. Avery.. You-" She purred.. "You like this? Oh wow.. Umh.. Well." Suddenly she stepped away and tackled him. "Ouch.. Umh.." Jarek realized the situation.. A more or less naked Avery was on top of him, her face still red after her tail being touched. "Don't touch my tail, rabbit." Jarek blinked for a moment, completetly confused and dazed. "Avery, I am not a rabbit!" Jarek's mind was flustered, he had completetly lost his capability of rational thinking. "I'm a hare.." Suddenly he pecked Avery's nose.

O' death won''t you spare me over til another year?

"Oh whatever, they're from the same family," Avery pointed out, but then all sarcastic comments left her as Jarek leaned up slightly and kissed her nose. She moved back an inch of two, eyes wide. She hadn't been expecting that. Not at all. She opened her mouth to comment, then pressed her lips together in a tight line. She was tongue tied, at a complete loss of what to say. She looked back to Jarek, who look scared s--tless after his bold move. Avery sputtered and then sat up entirely, basically straddling his waist. She touched the tip of her nose.

"What the literal f--k, Jarek?"

Issac had gone back to a different spot, now not just observing the lobby, but on the same floor he was before. He could look down on the lobby and jump down, but this now allowed him to sit and watch well...mostly every floor now. A bit creep he thought, but it help calm his nerves. He tucked the kitchen knife back into his side, he made sure it didn't poke into his side or cut him. So he sat watching, and still feeling creepy, but watching.

Jarek blinked and was again.. At a loss. Oh god, ooh god.. This is bad.. "I.. Umh.. Iheahah..mhm.." Jarek went silent again.. Come one Jarek THINK... Think! Dammit! "I.. Yes.." I hate myself, Oh god.. Someone just kill me already.. Jarek looked slightly panicked around, but suddenly stopped when he lloked at Avery's face. Oh.. She.. Jarek reached a hand up and wiped a old tear away. "I stopped you from crying?..." Well.. I guess that counts.. I hope? Jarek smiled. "And all in all.. I did think I saw a smile.."

"Hmm? Oh. Wait... who are you?" Tokoyo raised an eyebrow at the new mutant who had creeped up behind her. "Are you like, a creeper or something? 'Cause if you are, I can't stand those..."

[/QUOTE]
((Sorry, even slice of life people needs sleep ;) ))

Joseph smiled his wide toothy grin, rows of sharp teeth reviled them self, and Joseph almost laughed, but kept it to a concealed chuckle instead. "I am but no creeper." His raspy voice sounded like it could penetrate anything in the world, "I am Joseph, your local fence, I deal in anything, from fire arms to clothing to pet food." He bowed slightly, the scales on his back reflecting the light inside. He snapped his fingers, and halfway opened up his coat reviling several rows of goods. There was anything from small knifes, to a pocket watch, even a makeshift gun in his pocket. "See anything you like miss? I have gotten it all as I said, and all you need to do to get some of this stuff, is pay in cigarettes." He coughed, holding a hand in front of his mouth. A sleeve had fallen down reviling even more scales on the arm. He quickly pulled in the sleeve, to cover up the arm, and smiled innocently at the girl standing in front of him.

Truth was, he was embarrassed of his looks, and wished he did not look like a lizard. It was hard enough walking on two legs, an he always leaned forward a bit, to compensate for the tail he had bound up in his back. He hated it. But there was really nothing he could do, after all there were people who had it worse than him, but still he disliked his own looks. He had to admit that having "powers" as some called it was an upside, like actually being able to stick to walls, that was great, and faster reflexes was really not bad in this world. But he had to keep himself warm, that was a huge downside. After he became this, he lost his human warm-blooded circulation, and instead he had to live by being sun powered, or at least sun bathing once or twice a week, that is if he has some good warm cloth, else it was every day, and that was dangerous.

"What?" Conner asked the owl, who turned it's head and acted like they weren't there. 'Now how am I going to get you to be my pet.' Conner thought as he studied the owl. Thinking about what to do, he sees a mouse scurry across the floor. Using his cat like reflexes, might as well use them if he had them, he grabbed the mouse. Perhaps he could bribe it with food.

"Hmm... I'll see if I can drop by the corner store and pick up a 16 pack for you, and in exchange... maybe a small knife that's easy to conceal?" She filtered the sound over to the man's ear and whispered "Things seem a bit shady around here, ven if the hotel is nice. I would watch my back if I were you..." Tokoyo nodded and strode away as soon as she heard Jarek outside. She gazed out of an open window and yelled down when she saw a wounded girl, "Oh my god! I'm coming Jarek!" She grabbed some medical stuffs and dashed to the stairs.

(pretend I was in the hallway and I saw through the window because I a lazybutt and I don't want to edit >>)

Issac was sitting on his platform now on the 10th floor he believed. He saw the Cat-Girl going to Jarek a bit to late...He wanted to yell something, but he deiced that it wasn't worth it. So he sat there getting used again to having his knife not in a proper sheath, he could use with one of those. Issac mind went back to the girl Jarek brought in, and what could of happened, Issac made sure nothing else was coming in, a predator would of made there move by then, and he was outside for about 20 minutes with no cover. Issac mind went at ease, but he was still worried about the girls wounds he was pretty sure Jarek could handle it thought. So he went back to watching the Cat-Girl chase Jarek to his room.

@Roxxane Lexanna

Tokoyo finally reached to where the girl was and glared at Jarek. "What the f--k are you doing? Why aren't you patching her up? Oh wait.. you don't know me yet do you... uhm, well... hey? I came because I saw you and the wounds and..." She began applying the bandages correctly and wrapping up the open areas. After she finished, she introduced herself. "Anyway, hi. I'm Toyoko Rieya. Nice to meet you. And Jarek, keep your eyes off her."

Avery tensed as Jarek reached up and brushed a tear away, smiling. Avery opened her mouth to retort, then pursed her lips and got up abruptly. She crossed her arms, then winced at the movement.

"Okay, you molested my tail and are hitting on me, great. But could you do that after you bandage me? You know, the whole reason I took off my clothes?" Avery snapped, ignoring the part of her brain that was yelling at her for not letting him touch her tail more.

(Oh, didn't see your post. Eh, they're inside Avery's room and she still isn't bandaged...)

Joseph watched the girl speed away, and smiled. His plan had set off. She was prepared to pay with cigarettes, and soon he might even be able to make it a stable currency. He made a mental check mark, one goal closer, one goal less.

He walked down the hallway and looked out the main door, the sun was shining down on the landscape, covering all possible surfaces with light. Maybe he could get some of the people to set up some solar panels, that was, if there was any around, which was a bit unlikely, but possible never the less.

As the sun heated his body, he smiled, sooner or later, HE would be the ruler of this land.

Avery looked to the door as suddenly the door was thrown open and a girl came running in. Instantly she began bandaging her side, rambling about something. Avery was baffled. Didn't Jarek lock the door? Who was this chick?

"Uh... I'm Avery Ryan. How did you get in here...? Actually, screw it. Thanks for the help," Avery said.

Issac saw the sun rise...slowly...so slowly. Issac was getting tired now, he didn't sleep during the night he slept during the day, and wanted to badly now. So he wrapped the jacket around him, and put his tail over his lap. He looked around one last time yawning, he yelled "I'm no longer on watch...so could someone else do it!?" He said this while he was closing his eyes. His ears shot up thought so if he heard anything to loud he'd wake up. So Issac dozed off sitting on close to the edge of the platform.

"Haha, no problem. Wait, wasn't the door unlocked?" She looked at the wooden door and noticed one of the hinges were broken. "I think I might be stronger than I know." She chuckled and leaned back. "I just got here, so I'm trying to make a good impression. Do you guys have your own rooms? I'm ready to take a nap. Breaking a door takes more work than you think, i guess."

Jarek snapped out of his flustered thoughts as Toyoko somehow came crashing through the door. Didn't I lock it? Are these door's that s---ty?

He watched speechlessly on as Toyoko bandaged Avery's wounds. Well... So much for doing that.. Eh.. ....I..Furball is gorging himself on the dropped food.. Avery is talking to Toyoko.. Jarek completetly silently backed to the now open door and out. ..What the f--k is wrong with me?..

Jarek shook his head and listened to Toyoko talking about breaking the door down. He then turned his head to where Issac was calling- Something about a new watch.. Within a few moments had Jarek already jumped out of the window and over to where Issac's voice was calling "Yeah.. I'll do that.. I'll take a walk around and such... Yeah.." Jarek looked back towards floor thirteen, was it stupid of him for just leaving? He scantly remembers much of it.. He was hopeless when it came to personal feelings.. Not since the accident.

"Get some rest Issac, you look like a dead raccoon walking." Jarek said before jumping further down to the lobby. "Well so far all seems well.." He said while looking towards the rest of the city, Jarek shrugged and started his patrol around the hotel.

"Kekekeke.. Secrets.. Hunger." The thing crawled out of it's hiding spot and went back to the dark alleyway

Secret studied the hotel, a tasty lizard was bathing by the sun another delicate hare was patrolling but the mouthwatering raccoon was gone.. And yet none of these three were secrets prey.. He wanted the flesh of the cat.. He crouched down and studied the dried out blood. "Kekekeke...Kekeke...Kekeke.." Secret studied how the sun slowly were rising, now was his time. The hotel would provide shelter from those that call it their home. Secret slithered over to a wall his feet carrying him like a feather through the air, he looked up the wall and to the sides. "Kekekeke.. Eat the flesh of the impure... Eat the flesh of the impure.. Feast on their remains, feast on their fresh blood.." Secret's extra arms were on his back, far away he may look like an avian mutant. But each arm ended to a hand with sticky hair on the inside and small clawed nails. He soon climbed up on the wall just as easy as walking. He passed by a hole in the wall. "Racccoon... Raccoon.. Little thief hides in shadows.. Your thoughts dark your secrets terrible.. Listen well in your slumber.. Secrets are everywhere.. The others desssspise you... You are but hated by the others.. They want you gone.. Gone... Kekekeke." Secret continued his crawl towards the top, adjusting himself to avoid directly sunlight or preying eyes.

Issac only nodded when Jarek came by he could rest...finally. He let out one long sigh before his head fell to one side and he slept. Issac was enjoying himself until he heard a voice behind him, his ears perked up and turned to it. He was immediately awake when he heard it, but he didn't move. He listened to the voice until he was sure it was gone, Issac stood up taking off the jacket and lazy'll walked toward the hole inspecting it. Issac started mumbling to himself "I can't give chase, my bones will give before I can even reach where I think who-...why am I even talking about this." Issac said this as he trudged back to his jacket, picking it up and used the last of his energy to get to his hole-room, thingy. He sat by his gas cooker and took out the blanket. Put the jacket under his head propped his ears up and went to sleep, ignoring the words and just telling himself it was the lizard guy he'd talk to him later.

Conner quickly killed the mouse, quitting it's suffering. Holding it out in his open hand, he offers it to the owl. The owl proceeded to stare at him almost tauntingly. Throwing the mouse away, Conner turns towards Skylar, "What do you think will get him down here." Little did he know, the owl, which I will call Buras from now on, flew down to the dead mouse, picked it up and flew back to it's perch.

(well, if Sigis is bringing in his creep, I shall too)

It started with a simple humming. A foreboding sense of danger filled the air to accompany the crescendo of the buzzing. It grew louder, and louder, until suddenly a black blur shot past the hotel. If one were keen enough to see this blur, they'd see it was a woman. A woman with wasp wings, and a resting b---h face. Her name (or at least what she told people her name was) was Sting. And she was pissed. Beyond pissed. Someone had broken her number one rule; leave me alone, I'll leave you alone. Someone had been stupid enough to provoke her. Well, at least the b-st-rd was dead now. She had dug her nails into his back and then torn him apart. He had tasted vile. So now, with a bad taste on her tongue and fury in her eyes, she darted through the air in hopes to blow off steam. It wasn't working. Not nearly.

"Son of a b---h, couldn't keep his hands to himself. God damnit, why am I always the bad guy when it's not my fault?" Sting muttered to herself bitterly. She suddenly spotted midair upon spotting a very familiar figure. A feline, limping towards a large building. She was clearly bleeding. A hare ran out to meet her and usher her in, and Sting could practically hear his scolding from her position in the air. Another mutant ran out with a knife to keep guard while the girl, whose name she remembered to be Avery, was carried in. Sting pursed her lips, crossing her legs and resting her elbow on her knee. She leaned her chin on her palm and peered down at the building. A hotel? A sanctuary? Regardless, there seemed to be many mutants within. She pursed her lips. To enter or to not enter, that is the question... Hm, I don't see any harm in landing and investigating. Hopefully no one will piss me off. With that in mind, Sting uncrossed her legs and zipped forward towards the building. Sting landed on the roof and sat, waiting...

Jarek stared at the sun, his surroundings and the pebble he played with in his hands. He had now looped around the hotel forty five times, he saw shadows but nothing ever came close. "I wonder how Issac holds this out.. Nothing exciting happens.." Jarek threw the pebble into one of the dark alleyways. "What the?" Jarek froze, the pepple was lightly thrown back. Someone is there.. Flare gun? No.. It might be another survivor.. Jarek slowly walked towards the pebble and picked it up. "Hello?" He asked into the darkness. "Is, someone there?" Jarek looked back, he couldn't abandon his watch, but what if it was someone scared and alone? "Dammit.. Nobody is going to do anything, they'd have to get the elevator and that.." Jarek peered inside the alleyway again. "Well.. Here goes nothing.." Jarek disappeared into the alleyway's consuming darkness.

Secret had found another hole and crawled inside of it. "Shhkekeke... They have food here.." Secret walked over and studied the supplies, before picking some dried meat from the rest. "This will have to feed secret.. Secret will wait for the night.." The spider mutant walked around the floor, before finding a room hidden away from the elevator and the supplies. "Floor gone, will not be a problem.." If anyone saw it.. Disgustion and the need to throw up would be the best thing to describe what happened. Secret opened his mouth letting his two long and slimey tongues fall over and suddenly spat on the floor, slowly making a web. Secret continued this for a while, covering the walls in stickier webbings and the entrance to the room with a combination of both. "Secret.. Hide.. Secret will feast.. Secret sleep.. Sleep for now.." The spider mutant crept to a corner and literally covered the surrounding area of himself with webbings making it look like a gaint white sac or a pupa. "Cat, cat.. Sleep now.. Wish away.. Wish away.. The reaper thy cometh... Wish away... " The thing slowly fell 'asleep' a small vibration continued on the many silky strings of web in the room.

Jarek continued walking through the alleyways. "Hello?" Suddenly somthing- No someone placed a hand on Jarek's back. "Ssssshhhssss." Ba-thumph.. Ba-thumph. "Don't turn... My little meal.." Ba-thump.. Ba-thumph, Ba-thumph, Ba-thumph. ..Instincts... Jarek's breath became irregular. This was a snake.. A snake.. "Foward..Sssslowly..." Ba-thumph...Ba-thumph...Ba-thumph...Ba-thumph.. Jarek complied and took a few steps foward as slow as possible. "..Please..." "Ssssshhh...." Ba-thumph..Ba-thumph...Ba-thumph...Ba-thumph...Ba-thumph...Ba-thumph.

Flight.. Flight...Flight..Run dammit.. JAREK RUN.. Ba-thumph..Ba-thumph..Ba-thumph. "You know... I misssss company... "

The monstrous tall snake morph slithered infront of Jarek although it was still too dark to fully see it.

Suddenly he could feel the mutants legs? Tail.. This was one of the few that had mutated heavily.. Ba-thumph...Ba-thumph...Ba-thumph...Ba-thumph...Ba-thumph..

"You sseee... I have been ssssoooo lonely.. And sssssoooo... Hungry...." Ba-thumph Ba-thumph Ba-thumph Ba-thumph Ba-thumph Ba-thumph Ba-thumph.. "I...I..What.. Do you want from me?" Jarek's panickly eyed the small opening he was in.. This was a lair.. Are those? BONES?!..

Ba-thumph Ba-thumph Ba-thumph Ba-thumph Ba-thumph. Jarek's heart was wild, panicking.

"You look... Ssssooo delicate...." The snake mutant was finally fully visible, It- She had a brough him closer to a small fire. The mutant leaned closer to Jarek and smelled him.. With her forked tongue. Ba-thumph Ba-thumph Ba-thumph. "I.. Please...." A metallic sound was heard nearby, the snake mutant turned to look. NOWS YOUR CHANCE! Ba-thumph Ba-thumph Ba-thumph Ba-thumph.. Jarek turned and nearly dashed away, when he suddenly felt pain on his left hind leg. "IAGH.." "Come back, Vermin...Play timesss not done.." The mutants voice slowly faded as Jarek ran.

Jarek ran... Oh god, he ran.. He didn't stop until he collapsed some meters away from the hotel. Ba-thumph.. Ba-thumph... Ba-thumph... Ba-thumph.. "God... Oh god...I'm alive.. Egh.. What the f--k? My leg it burns.. " He looked to his wound, oozing blood, it was swelling slightly and he had such a terrible headache.. He raised a hand to his head, he was sweating? A fever...? And- Jarek touched lightly the philtrum. "Blood?.. Nose blood?.." Ba-thumph... Ba-thumph... Ba-thumph.. Ba-thumph Ba-thumph

(Snake http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bothrops_asper NOTE: Gory picture! Not for the faint of heart!)

Sting had been dozing off when she suddenly heard a scream. It was male, and held a lot more than pain; terror, panic... Sting flung herself off the roof and zipped towards the noise. A boy, the hare from earlier, came sprinting out of an alley. What was he doing in there??? Stupid hare! You're only good for running, why would you go in there??? Sting landed between him and the alley, her wings buzzing as a warning sound. She crouched down and looks at the hare before sighing. "You are so lucky I'm on good terms with Avery."

With that stated, she grabbed the hare under the arms and with a boost from her wings made quick work of dragging him back to the hotel. She carried him in and then looked up through a hole in the ceiling. "Oi! Kitty! You owe me more than one!"

Sting then zipped back out and cracked her knuckles. She began releasing a toxin into the air that would alert other wasps in the area to attack if this thing (whatever it was that f---ed up the hare) if they saw it. She let out a deep breath and then went flying into the alley. The snake never saw her coming...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Avery had been awoken as she rolled over and right onto her side. She jolted up and hissed, pressing a hand to her side. She groaned and stood, pulling on her shorts and wandering out. She didn't bother with her bloodied shirt, as most of her stomach was covered with bandages. She thanked her good eyesight and looked around. Hmm... the others must be asleep... Avery then froze as she heard a very, very familiar voice practically scream. "Oi! Kitty! You owe me more than one!" Avery paused.
"Sting...? What the... Why do I owe you, ya jerk? You owe me, like, ten from my last missions for you," Avery grumbled. Wait... Why do I owe her? Avery braced herself and jumped down the hotel floor hole. She leapt down, floor after floor, and then landed in the lobby with a stumble. She hissed slightly. Okay, maybe I should've used the elevator down. Avery then looked around... And froze. "...Jarek?"
Jarek barely noticed the stranger dragging him. He only and in great pain yelped out a simple thank you.
Soon after the bee girl? Wasp woman? Whatever she was flew away again. Jarek turned to the side and threw up, blood and whatever content that he had stomached. He slowly sat up on a wall. "Gawd.. Just.. Kill me.."
Jarek took a deep breath, but only to a little help. He looked up as he heard Avery's voice.
"Avery..Gawd.. I'm a moron.. I'm an idiot.. I hea.."
He coughed up blood and shook his head. "I heard someone and thought they needed help... It was.. A fricken snake mutant...." Jarek winced.
"It.. F--king bit my leg.." Jarek stared at the swelled up wound, still bleeding. "I'm going to die.. God.. I don't want to die.." I'm terrible, I'M TERRIBLE! I'm a moron.. Why did I do this!? Gawd.. Just leave me to die.. I'm worthless..
Issac the minute he heard someone yell stood up and grabbed his knife. He looked around his small area, seeing nothing he looked over the edge, seeing Jarek neatly tossed on the floor wounded. He tucked his knife in his side and started jumping from platform to platform down. He eventually made it landing next to him to see a bug lady fly off, but that didn't matter. He came down next to him muttering "Hang in there buddy." Issac looked for a wound and found one, the bite marks were a bit off for something like a wolf or a bear so expected a reptile of some kind. In his head he told himself gotta talk to that lizard guy later, but now was a different time he put pressure on the wound and then immediately drew his hand away that would hurt more than it'd be good. He thought of more options he knew the one of the girls here had some herbs but he didn't know where she is, this lead him to one option, and when he thought of it he looked at Jarek and said "Ehh...I dunno if what I'm about to do is very stupid, very bad, or just plain out genius, but don't hate me after this." Issac knelled down next to the wound and looked to it thinking he's had worse.
He gulped and then opened his mouth biting on the wound and started sucking drawing the poison and some blood in his mouth. After about 5 seconds he drew away and fells on his back shaking slightly, his thought process was still going, he was pretty sure he got some of the poison out why else would he be sprawled on the floor shaking violently? By the time he had thorough this Issac was spasming on the floor, and at one point even puked. In the middle of all of this Issac kept saying "F*** F*** F*** gunna get past this." He said that over again for about 2 minutes before just going back to shaking his eyes darting.
Avery was horrified. She had seen someone with a similar looking wound before... it didn't end well. She was about to run over, when another mutant from the hotel ran in and started trying to help. She was frozen to the spot, even when he started drawing out the poison. Which was the dumbest idea ever in Avery's opinion, for then he'd get poison in his own system.
Suddenly, Avery was snapped from her dazed state as Sting came bursting into the lobby again, growling. Her hands were drenched in a red liquid, and it wasn't very hard to guess what it was. "S-sting?"
Sting looked up at Avery and sighed. "Hey. Long time no see. Cute top." With that brief statement she rushed over to crouch beside Jarek and Isaac, groaning in annoyance. "The idiot tried to suck out the poison, didn't he? Don't answer that, he clearly did. Avery, you owe me so much."
"Hey, you're doing this out of free will," Avery pointed out, rushing to sit on the other side of Jarek. "Will they be okay? What happened?"
"Bunny boy here was attacked by a snake. A bothrops asper."
"How do you kno-"
"She used to be part of a unit I worked with. Venoms. However, I use past tense cause I killed her. She kept antidotes and antibiotics and such stockpiled, thankfully or these two would've been screwed. Majorly. The fun part of this will be finding out which ones to use. Sonofab----- Ave, are all your boyfriends this stupid?"
