[The Lawgivers] Game Conversation

Also please remember we are using 2.5 rules. If you feel there are some rules that don't match up with mortal-to-exalt conversion from the main book let me know. I can't remember to be honest. I will have to re-read when I get home.

Rowan - Night Caste

Asad - Dawn Caste

Mist - Zenith Caste

Layoro - ??? (On his character sheet he has stats for all castes)

Ajani - Doesn't come off as an Eclipse, maybe Twilight... though he can knife-fight Rowan for the others as well.

Takeno - Special mic-special face.

I think the only thing missing are the free specialties but well, they were added in 2.5 assuming we get the free specialties and also as solars, we would be able to get some of our abilities up to 5 without spending bonus points, so some bonus points might end up ending not being used anymore for abilities.

You know, I am pretty cool with those who want to make magic/charms. So technically if someone was a Twilight they could just MAKE a spell that is like a charm that say a Night has. That way it would cost the same to purchase as a charm inside their purview. Just a thought I had, I may be wrong.

I don't think any of our characters are made with the Twilight caste in mind, when looking at everybody.

Well, JayTee has stats for all decisions, not that I want to force him into any role.... If we want to wait for JayTee before continuing we can. By no means am I rushing you guys, I just tend to rush sometimes because without updates some players become inactive... FOREVER. :(

The thing about twilight is that.. The anima power that was added in the errata sucks unless you're a sorcerer. It's essentially just an all encompassing sorcerer sight in anima form. And sorcery is not worn it until u get essence 5.

Hmmm, I guess I could become some kind of Indiana Jones twilight caste since frankly I don't particularly mind the kind of caste that I play since it's all about the charms but yeah, probably not going to do any sorcery or crafting. Essence 5? heh Solar circle sorcery is actually disappointing, most of the best spells are in the celestial circle. There is only like one or two solar circle spells worth getting.

Hmmmm... I wonder how we can fix this... I agree with you about the anima and sorcerey's usefulness, to be honest some spells are pretty weak compared to the amount of essence it costs. What do you guys think? I will have to personally wait till I get home to look it over to make it more appealing.

EDIT: We can even make a new anima, as long as you guys don't care about "OH NO MY CANON RULES!" kind of mentality. Any and all can be changed for the fun of the game!!

And again, due to what Retro pointed out above, we should totally make new solar spells on the fly. I am willing to make some badass spells and we can all check them off and call them balanced. :)

EDIT: Also, I will be implementing crafting quite a bit in this game. I am in fact going to try and hit every skill in the game so that it is not underutilized. Skills go unused forever...

The spells are like that mostly because of fluff...it's all about the fluff of the exalted world and mostly why I love infernals so much. Because infernals combine the crazy coolness of spells and charms putting them together as charms, which are more useful than spells.

I'm might be willing to go with twilight if we use the original twilight non-errata powers. I have some Ideas for an artifact 5 weapon. A blade that cuts the things that cannot be cut... Concepts, attunement, anything that cannot be normally cut.

Edit: Idea for an anima effect. Spend five motes to attune an out-of-splat artifact weapon or to invoke a mundane weapon and give it the MM bonuses of Orichalcum and make it indestructable.

You could be a combat Twilight. And again, if we want to mold its anima to be something different we can. The old anima is good for combat, but you can make it something else as well. You can make magic combat spells that costs less then the books spells as long as their balanced with charms of the same kind. Really, I am flexible because I know getting a perfect circle is hard and sometimes people get shafted. If we want to mold the other castes we can too.

I will say for nation building, social combat will be in this game quite a bit and most confrontation will be passable and if not a better result to normal combat. Perhaps you can turn a Dragon-Blooded to your side instead of just kill him? He will then turn his army into your army. Agree to have Chiaroscuro help you in your pursuit to overthrow the Blessed Isle or destroy Paragon. Creation is your essence-oyster.

So you are going twilight? k, then I guess JT will go eclipse, I don't think he would mind.

I would like to use this anima power actually

Rule: After reducing raw damage by all other soak mechanisms, the Twilight anima reduces the raw damage by the Twilight's Essence score (instead of reducing post-roll damage by the Twilight's Essence score).

In addition, the Twilight automatically attunes to and gains benefits from artifacts as if they were the Exalt of the appropriate type regardless of the magical material the item is made from. For example, they gain the benefits from jade items as if they were Dragonblooded and starmetal as if they were Sidereals.

This also removes the penalty for artificing with an inappropriate material since all materials are considered appropriate for a Twilight.

How beefy in combat do you guys want me as the Dawn?

Also does any player have a problem with me ending up a major warlord?
