Emilia's eyes cracked open a tiny bit as the light from her window lit up her room. She smiled sadly, knowing this was the last time she would be sleeping in that room. Everything was packed away in boxes for college aside for the things she was taking on the road trip. At the end of their road trip, her friends would drop her off at college and her parents would mail her her things. She got up and got ready for the day, straightening her hair and putting on a faded, worn t-shirt that once had a name of a band on it which had faded into a mesh of colors over a gray background. she put on jean shorts and her black and white keds before heading downstairs.
"Morning Mama," Emily said as she entered the kitchen, giving her a kiss on the woman a kiss on the cheek. "Good morning, Emilia. I made you some breakfast." Emilia looked on the table to see a feast of bacon, eggs, oatmeal, toast, and biscuits. With a shake of her head, the female gave her mother another kiss on the cheek. "You didn't have to do all this," she chided, knowing her mother only made all this because it would be the last time her daughter would be living under that roof. Also, because she would have a group of possible hungry teenagers in her kitchen soon. "Do you have everything you need?" Mrs. Brooks asked as Emilia served herself a bit of everything and began to eat. "Yes ma'am," she said around mouthful of eggs. Her mother frowned at her, but rolled her eyes a moment later with a smile.
When Emily was finished, she ran upstairs and grabbed her things, which consisted of one fairly large duffel (she didn't want to take up too much space, seeing as the group would be on the road) and threw it into the bus she had refurbished throughout their senior year. Her father had been a bus driver and when he passed, the school retired the old faded yellow bus to the Emilia and her mother. She grabbed herself some more oatmeal and toast and enjoyed her mother's cooking while she waited for everyone to arrive.
Garnet groaned at the sound of the alarm clock on her phone go off. The song Fever by The Black Keys was playing real loud so that alerted her that she needed to wake up. She already graduated but she agreed to go on a post-grad roadtrip with some of her friends and Lucas. Her and Lucas have a very very complicated relationship to which she doesn't want anyone to know about. Sighing she sat up and counted to 3 before getting out of bed and walking to her bathroom. Taking a long hot shower she washed her hair in the process then rinsed it off. Getting out she grabbed her towel and wrapped it around her body then brushed her teeth before making sure she had everything toiletry ready for the trip. Exiting the room she walked over to her closet and grabbed her duffle bags throwing them on her bed and started to look for something to wear. Shrugging when she found something that looked good and removed her towel throwing the clothes on. walking to her makeup area she sat down and started to attack her hair. Finishing within a few minutes she put on some light makeup then stood up putting her shoes on. Once she finished she headed downstairs with her bags and greeted her parents before sitting down eating. She talked and laughed with them before they drove her to Emilia's house which wasn't that far. Hugging and kissing her father's goodbye she exited the car and walked up the steps to Emilia's home. Instead of ringing the doorbell she just sent the girl a text.
Brenda woke when she felt something gently shake her shoulder. She slowly opened her eyes as they adjusted to the sunlight, and saw that it was actually someone rather than something."Good morning, Momma."
Brenda's mother, Song, smiled down at her daughter softly. "And a good morning to you too. Go get ready and come downstairs so we can leave as soon as possible, okay? Don't forget that we promised to pick Alaric up along the way." With that, she left.
Brenda completely forgot about the trip overnight, so she squealed a bit as she thought about spending time with all of her friends. She quickly planted her feet on the ground, as she did some last minute packing and got herself to be presentable.
Alaric had been up for hours by the time everyone else was waking up. He tended to do things like that, and just wouldn't go back to bed if he did- the time would usually be spent writing or drawing. He had already been clean, dressed, and packed for a while now and so now he was just waiting on Brenda.
Brenda. If someone casually mentioned that name or it was spotted in some type of work, there's no doubt about it that you would think about kittens and glitter. The literal kitten kind of just changed the idea of the name, and turned it into something bizarre yet amazing. She was a big ol' ball of sunshine, and could make anyone smile.
"Speak of the devil," he muttered as he received a text. She had sent him a picture of his own house, and it was both cute and creepy.
Smiling and shaking her head at her silliness, he walked out to find her mother's car in his driveway. "Bye mom and Dad!" He yelled as he ran out the door with his bag. He then got into the vehicle, and they were off.
It didn't take long for them to get to Emilia's house, and so they ended up getting there quite early. The two got out as they thanked Song, and saw that Garnet was also at the house. "Hi there, Kai!" Brenda practically ran up to the girl and tackled her into a hug.
The hot steam of the shower filled the bathroom air and fogged up the mirror as Lucas turned on the water. He reveled in the feeling of the water running down his muscular back before realizing that he had a time deadline. He quickly shampooed his faded brown hair before rinsing out the foam and stepping out of the shower. The tall boy briskly dried himself off with a soft white towel before throwing on a casual white v-neck and a pair of dark jeans. He grabbed his large black duffle bag with all of his belongings from the ground and slung it loosely over his broad shoulder. Lucas' hazel eyes lit up with excitement at the thought of this final road trip with all of his closest friends. His pink lips rose into a smirk as he grabbed a second blue duffle bag and slung it over his other shoulder. The handles of alcohol made clinking noises as the glass bumped into each other within the bag. That second blue bag was designated solely for alcohol. He looked around at his messy room as he hadn't even begun to pack for college yet. He knew that he would only have a day in between the road trip and him leaving for college, but he was a procrastinator and he figured he could just do it later.
Lucas made his way down the stairs and into the kitchen, devouring the scrambled eggs that his mother had made for him. "Thanks, mom. I'll miss you," he smiled at her when he was done eating. "I'll miss you too. Have a good trip!" she told him, pulling the boy into a hug. Just then, his father and his 13-year old teenage sister walked into the kitchen to say their goodbyes as well. After hugging his father, he looked over at the young brunette girl and smiled at her. "Don't snoop around in my room while I'm gone," he told her teasingly, pulling her into a warm embrace as well. He knew he was going to worry about her while he was away. After all, the entire family had become very protective over her after her twin sister had died of leukemia 5 years ago. He grabbed both of his duffle bags and headed out the door, placing his luggage into the trunk of his black Acura. Lucas got into the driver's seat and reversed out of the driveway before speeding down the road towards Emilia's house.
Soon, the familiar house came into view as he reached one of his best friend's homes. He had came here way too many times, as he and Emily's shared love for adventure allowed to bond over many things. As he neared, he saw Garnet, Brenda, and Alaric waiting at the front steps. Lucas smiled as he recognized the slim figure of Garnet, reflecting back on the last time she was in his room. They had a rather complicated relationship that he preferred to keep between only the two of them. "Are you guys ready to party or what?" he called out excitedly as he stepped out of his vehicle. He grabbed the two duffle bags from his trunk and joined the group at the stairs. "This baby is filled with everything we need," Lucas smiled as he gestured to the blue bag with all the alcohol. He shifted his hazel eyes back onto the house before them and glanced through the open window when he realized that the door still hadn't opened. "Yo Em! We're here!" he called loudly into the house. Her parents had gotten used to his loud and spontaneous entrances, so he knew that they wouldn't mind.
Garnet slipped her phone into her back pocket and suddenly heard a high-pitched voice before yelping as she felt someone tackle her. Silently growling she looked down to see the small figure of Brenda Chi. Ugh this girl was so annoying at times but she loved her to bit. "Good Morning...Brenda..." She told her as she gave her a real smile and rubbed her head before slowly pushing her off. Putting her duffle bags down she heard the sound of a car skidding to a stop and turned around to see a black Acura. She's seen the Acura before and has had so many fun times in there, it was illegal. And when she meant fun times she meant adult content times with the owner of the car.She smirked a little when she saw Lucas get out the vehicle and walk up the steps. Biting her lip a little bit secretly, she raked her eyes over his figure remembering the last time she saw his body. Walking over to him smiling she looked down at the two duffle bags he was holldings. "How the hell we're you able to sneak all the alcohol pass your mom dude?" She asked as she crossed her arms over her chest. She was about to ask another question when Lucas walked up the steps of Emilia's home and banged on her house door then shouted they we're all outside waiting for her. Sighing she rubbed her eyes before looking at the school she used to ride in when she was young. Emilia's father was the driver of the bus and she has had so many fun times on the bus. She was happy Emilia decided to have this trip it'll be like a one last road trip in the bus before they all separate for college.
Elizabeth yawned, waking up to the sound of her rather loud alarm clock. Although she would love to go back to sleep, she had to get up and get ready to go to Emilia's house with Daniel. Daniel did not like to be kept waiting and she was very sure she wouldn't hear the end of his complaining if she were to be late. She reluctantly got out of bed and walked to the bathroom to take a quick shower before doing her morning necessities. Elizabeth quickly dried her hair with a towel and a hairdryer and brushed it to get rid of the knots and tangles. Peering into the mirror, she tucked her hair behind her ears so she could carefully apply her make-up. After finishing up, she traveled back to her room to change into a nice red sweater and brown high waisted shorts. She took a good look of her now empty room. All her stuff that she wasn't bringing with her were safely packed into boxes, waiting to be sent to her aunt's house in New York, where she'll be living as soon as the trip ends.
Walking outside her room, she was greeted by her two family dogs Seamus and Jordan. She pets the top of their heads, to which they return the affection happily, and makes her way downstairs and into the kitchen. There, Elizabeth found her four older brothers sitting at the kitchen table, either eating or making breakfast. "Good morning" she says with a smile and the four returned the greeting with a smile as well. "Are you all set to go?" the oldest brother asked while handing her a plate of eggs and toast. "Yes, Henry" she says while taking the plate of breakfast. "My stuff for the trip is safely in my duffle bags and the rest of my stuff is already packed in boxes upstairs." Elizabeth begins to stuff her face with food, knowing Daniel would come any minute. And speaking of the devil, the doorbell rang, indicating Daniel's arrival. "Okay I got to go! Bye you guys, I'll miss you and don't forget to send the rest of my stuff to auntie" she says hugging all her brothers. "Don't forget to say goodbye to mom and dad before you go" Henry says and she nods.
Elizabeth walks into the living room and towards one corner of the room. She bends down onto her knees, facing a small shrine that held the pictures of her deceased parents. "Goodbye mom, dad. I'll be leaving now. Don't worry too much about me. I'll have my friends, and soon auntie, to take care of me" she says with a sad smile, before standing up and grabbing her two red duffle bags. She says one last goodbye to her brothers before heading out the door and seeing Daniel waiting for her at the house gate.
Daniel Young
Daniel walked out of his bathroom while trying to dry his hair with a towel. He was wearing a a plain white short sleeved shirt and on top of that, was a knit white cardigan. He was also wearing light blue skinny jeans. Feeling a little lazy, he just placed the towel over his head and walked out of his room and towards the kitchen to get himself something to eat. Normally, he would have his mom make him something to eat but this time, he had to make something for himself because she wasn't there. In fact, his entire family wasn't there except for him. The whole house was literally empty. There was barely any furniture. Only the stuff he was bringing on the trip remained in the house, the rest of his stuff was with his family, on it's way to South Korea.
Daniel wanted to go on the trip with his friends and so he decided to stay behind and then take a later flight to South Korea by himself. He made himself a sandwich with the limited amount of food that was in the kitchen and ate it all in only a few bites. There wasn't much snacks he could eat because he had packed them in his duffle bag so he could eat it during the trip. He was still hungry but before he could go through his duffle bag filled with snacks, he noticed a container sitting on the counter. He opened it finding some sushi and kimchi. "At least they were thoughtful enough to leave me something to eat" he states before he took a piece of sushi into his mouth.
After he finished eating, Daniel walked back to his room to finish drying his hair. He styled his bangs and to complete the outfit, he decided to wear a straw fedora. He takes one last good look of himself in the mirror, and liking what he sees, he walks back downstairs to the living room to grab his two navy blue duffle bags. He walks out the door and head straights for Elizabeth's house, which was just across the street. Walking up to the house, he rings the doorbell and waits for Elizabeth.
It has been five minutes and Daniel was already feeling irritated because of the wait. Suddenly, Elizabeth comes out of the house and greets Daniel. "Hey Danny, ready to go?" she asks and Daniel scowls. "I've been waiting for you for such a long time! You know I hate waiting" he whines and Elizabeth just rolls her eyes. "Dude, It's only been like what? Five minutes?" she says and the two started walking to Emilia's house. It was only a fifteen minute walk from their house and so they didn't rush.
When they were close enough, the two could hear Lucas yelling as clear as day, to which Elizabeth chuckled. Daniel could only scowl, not liking any loud noise so early in the morning. He was never a morning person and the frown on his face proves it. "Hey guys" Elizabeth says with a smile.
"Clare! Time to get up!" The sound of his father's voice was the first thing Clarence heard that morning. He crept open his eyes, staring out the window at the scenic view of the woods behind his house. Today was the day... He stood up, getting in a quick shower before grabbing his clothes. A gray t-shirt, a red plaid shirt unbuttoned over it, a pair of well loved jeans, and converses with his usual glasses. He looked around, practically tossing up his entirely packed room to find where he'd put his duffle. He'd lost it... Again. "Where are you... AHA! Found you, you rat bastard!" Lifting the red duffle, he opened it to review the contents. Clothes, necessities, all of the stuff for the usual day at the bottom and the important stuff on top. 6 notebooks (he knew himself, he'd fill all of them, and on second thought, he added 2 more just to be safe), 3 boxes of pencils, and a bunch of sharpeners. He wasn't too careful and he'd rather always have some handy rather than struggle to find one and forget what he was writing about. He rode the railing down the stairs. His father was at the table, paper in hand. His mother was handling his two baby sisters, too busy to notice his arrival. "Mom, dad. I'm heading out..." He said, looking towards the door. His dad nodded "have fun, son." He said in a grunt like way. His mother didn't even look back, changing the girls diapers. "Love you both." He ran over, kissing his mother's cheek and leaving. He threw his stuff in the back of his jeep and drove to the house they were all to meet at. He didn't mind his parents not making a scene. His mother already had hers the night before, and his dad thought it would be too much fun to seem sad. He'd rather not have his last memory before the trip be of his mother or father crying. Upon arrival, he ran to the door. "Morning all..." He said with a shy wave. It didn't matter how long they'd known each other, he'd always be nervous starting conversation. He tilted his head, sniffing around "ooooh I smell bacon." He looked around.
It wouldn't fit. Jessi would make it fit. She stared defiantly at the duffle bag which was seated upon her bedspread before taking a running start and jumping atop the opening which was filled to the brim with videogames, books, and clothing of various sorts. She struggled with the zipper before grinning in triumph as she finally was able to close the bag before turning and blanching at the sight of her mother in the doorway, a smile plastered onto her features. "Don't. Say. A. Word." Jessi held up a finger in order to dissuade the incoming teases and taunts before relaxing as her mother disappeared from the doorway and swiping up the duffle bag and sheerly underestimating the weight of it, grunting as she slid it on her shoulder before she collected her phone and sweater. The trek downstairs was less than simple and she was suddenly exhausted before she had even reached the door, her mother had somehow appeared like the second coming of Cthulu before placing a loving kiss atop her forehead and returning to the living room. Getting this in a bus would be complex. Jessi would make it work. She always did.
The moment the sun had dared to rise over the small neighborhood, the teenage boy who'd been peacefully sleeping on his tatami mat blinked awake. Hikaru rose slowly and scratched his head. It was too early in the morning to function properly. It wasn't until he was halfway through with putting the bed roll away that the realization hit him. Today was the day! The teenager haistily stuffed the rest of the mat into the drawer and hopped up with that sense of excitement bubbling in his chest. It was here! Finally here!
He instead raced across the barren room to his nearly matching closet to grab the backpack full of his belongings. He'd forgotten to zip the bag up, however, and therefore his belongs all tumbled out. He gasped, hurrying to re-stuff his bag. He squished in his clothes, laptop, reading glasses ( two pairs, just in case! ) and other necessities. He sighed and struggled to zip the thing up. The character's face of the front was horrible twisted now; he'd have to ask the Colossal Titan for forgiveness later.
He slung the pack over his shoulder and began to exit the room before the realization hit him that he'd almost forgotten his art portfolio! The thought of it was enough to make the boy queasy.. He hurried over to the windowsill, where he'd left the precious bag full of his supplies, and quickly scooped that up as well before zipping out. He wouldn't have any time to eat at this rate! Hikaru stopped by the kitchen to grab a quick breakfast bun. Instead, he was met with a warm, quail egg steam bun instead. His mother sighed and tapped her foot impatiently with a smile. Hikaru returned the gesture and slightly dipped his head in thanks.
"Thank you, mother." The teen muttered before biting into the bun gratefully. The woman only nodded her welcome. "It's no worry, son. Make sure you say goodbye to your father and Maki-chan before you leave."
The soon to be college student nodded and went off to collect his shoes. He slipped off the slippers he wore when in the house and carefully put those in his pack. Just then, his father appeared with his young sister at his side.
"Have a safe trip." The elder man grumbled gruffly. Hikaru nodded and knelt down to his toddler sister's level. "You take care, okay Maki-chan? Be good for mother and father."
The toddler girl nodded, her hand in her mouth. Hikaru nodded back in approval. He waved a farewell before he hurried to his beat up hybrid, tossing the pack in carelessly. His portfolio, however, got a passenger seat as well as a seat buckle. The teen pulled on out and drove off, heading to Emilia's home. It didn't take long, and soon enough he was pulling up to the curb and scrambling to retrieve his pack and portfolio.
Ashton was in the middle of stuffing his face with fresh chocolate chip waffles. His aunt had taken the initiative to make the boy breakfast because he'd spent the night fretting about what to bring. Although Ash was normally a well put-together person, when it came to trips, he never knew what to bring. Of course, by 3 AM, he'd decided to pack light with only a few pairs of clothing and the essentials.
"You have everything?" His aunt asked as he took his final bite. With cheeks puffed from being full, he nodded. What should have been words became coughs as he choked on the waffles.
"Yeah," he finally choked out, chugging down a cup of milk. For a rich boy, he had the eating etiquette of a child. Mostly because he enjoyed being "normal."
After Ashton helped his aunt clean, he got into the passenger seat of his car. The boy would have driven himself to Emilia's house but he didn't fancy the idea of his car being alone, so he asked his aunt to drop him off. She didn't seem to mind the idea because she always cooed about wanting to drive the Audi.
A few minutes passed by and Emilia's home soon came in to view. Ashton recognized some of his friend's cars and grinned because he knew they'd get on to him for being late. When the car came to a stop and he thanked his aunt, Ashton jumped out the vehicle and pounded up the bus steps.
"SORRY I'M LATE GUYS!" He shouted, his naturally loud and projecting voice shaking the whole bus.
Waking up to the sound of her phone's alarm going nuts, she picked up the device, immediately beginning to curse at herself silently. Of course she had woken up late; typical Melody... Emilia just might kill her. Despite the fact that her awakening was so delayed, she moved slowly around the house as she got ready for the day. All of her things had been packed for over a day so the only thing unprepared here was, well, her. As disappointing as that was, that was life, and, to be fair, definitely her fault for deciding to stay up so late watching Netflix.
After an additional half hour or so, time in which she should have spent with the others at Emilia's, she was out the door, ready to go. Carrying her things, she struggled a bit to find her strength through her exhaustion. Nonetheless, she managed to get everything in the trunk before getting into the vehicle and turning the key. Fiddling with the radio, she frowned at the fact that she couldn't find anything worth listening to. Remembering she had left a cd in the glove compartment, her expression instantly brightened as she popped it in and let it play. Now, hopefully, her drive would wake her up some, though, she doubted that it would.
"Looks like I'm late to the party..." She said, approaching the house. Briefly stopping just short of everyone, she glanced around, a faint smile slowly appearing on her face. Continuing up to meet the others, she took up a place standing beside Clarence. Dropping her bags, she tilted her head a little, resting it on his shoulder. Closing her eyes and yawning widely, she emitted a soft groan. "... Too early... Lucky I love you guys..." Was about all that could be heard through her whisper tone. Still very clearly tired, her eyes merely fluttered open occasionally to acknowledge when words were spoken.
Clarence looked over at the girl leaning against his shoulder. Melody had always been like this, really. One to make herself comfortable wherever she is, even if it were on other people. "Hello melody" he smiled kindly at her relaxed form. As she mumbled to the group, he nodded a bit "well, we always appreciate you coming, Mel." He looked at the door "she knows we're here, right?" He tilted his head a bit but didn't move to disturb melody from her relaxation. It didn't matter who it was, he wouldn't dare bother someone while they rested on him.
His eyes went across the yard. He just didn't want to be waiting around outside while there was obviously other things to do (such as eating) inside. He looked around the rapidly forming group "maybe we should go and put our stuff on the bus real fast... It's just taking up space out here and it'll be easier to get going if it's all on board while everyone is arriving" he offered to the surrounding group. It was an idea, and internally he was worried about the public reaction. Always was, a little... Thanks social anxiety. At least Mel and Alaric were there to help curb it.
Jessi nearly tossed her head back in laughter at Emilia's unconvincing request. She had known the girl for quite a long time which was enough to know that due to her stunt in growth, she would not be able to drive that thing even if she scooted further up. Jessi wasn't capable of teasing and she had never commented on Emilia's lack of being able to reach certain things so instead she smiled politely and raised her hand, she had driven a bus before however it had been on a closed course for entirely different reasons concerning the matter at hand. "I could do it, it wouldn't be a conflict." She stood, abandoning her bag in turn for walking up to the front and leaning against the seat directly next towards the entrance.
Garnet turned to see Emilia open the door to her house. "Finally! You're out what the hell did your mom have you do, paint the entire interior of the house?" She asked Emilia before walking over to the three dogs and smiles rubbing their beautiful faces. She was in love with animals ever since her father brought her two puppies...two Pit Bull puppies. She loves them to death sadly they couldn't take with her on the trip. "Hello babies..." She smiled rubbing their head before recieving a big kiss on the cheek from Emilia's mother. She was like the mother Garnet never had. Upon entering the house and walking to the kitchen she sat down in one of the chairs next to Lucas. When Emilia's mother basically forced them to eat Garnet couldn't say no. She grabbed some strips of bacon and proceeded to eat them. When everyone had finished eating they all pilled onto the bus and placed their bags at the back of the bus. Garnet was the last to put her bags away and decided to be a little mischevious. Quickly taking a pair of underwear from her own duffle bag she slipped then into Lucas's duffle bag as a little surprise and joke. Even though their relationship was complicated, they're still friends. After all the bags we're in the back Emilia stood at the from of the bus and cleared her throat asking for everyones attention. She then asked if anyone wanted to drive the bus. Garnet spoke up after Jessi didd "As much as I love having fun times in the bus...I have Road Rage...so it's a big no for me Emilia...sorry..." She told her before taking out her phone and texted her dad's that they we're about to leave.
Brenda couldn't help but run around to hug each person as they arrived, and attempt to have a small conversation with them- even Daniel, despite how much he despises her. Of course, they didn't really last, whereas she just kept running around like a small kitten that was high on catnip. They may have all seen each other not too long ago, but that wouldn't stop her. When it came to be Emilia's turn, the little cutie practically jumped into her arms. To say she was excited was a bit of an understatement, and it was highly obvious to anyone who had eyes.
The kitten made sure to keep as far away from any dogs in the household as possible, even though they already knew to keep their distance. Alaric on the other hand, absolutely adored them and spent some extra time equally petting and loving each one. It made Brenda groan a bit, because her friend always preferred the slobber-monsters over the elegant and neat creatures of the night. "Well, all men are dogs anyways, so have fun." She felt like such a sass master in that moment, and flipped her fake tail before walking into the kitchen.
Alaric playfully rolled his eyes as he stood up to follow Brenda. He spent most of his time at the table with Clarence, as they discussed more things they could add on to their stories such as subplots, or things for character development. Emilia's mother was kind enough to make Al some of his favorite tea, and he was forever grateful for her existence. He was constantly pulling at his sleeves so they were covering his hands, and drinking warm tea in the middle of summer- he was a bit different like that.
When it came time to head to the bus, Alaric could feel Brenda jump onto his back. Why she did that, he could never tell you. The two weren't all that close, but he didn't say anything about it. Instead, he placed her in the smack middle of the interior, and listened to Emilia as she asked if anyone wanted to drive. Ric slowly approached the dark-haired girl, and gave a small smile. "I'd be willing to, if you'd like?"
His attention was directed away from his other friend, because Brenda squealed and jumped around like a five year old on a sugar rush. Alaric watched her with a small grin, as he was becoming fairly amused and inspired by her actions. He made mental notes of practically every detail, which may have sounded creepy but it really wasn't. "I can already tell that this is going to be the best summer of our lives, because we'll be spending it together. We can have tons of all-nighters, story telling, and so much more! I even made us all friendship bracelets- Alaric, hand me the bag with the glitter paw prints on it." She glanced over to her friend, and took said bag from his arms. "Come on guys, let's put them on!"
Alaric knew that nobody was going to listen to her, so he sighed and walked over to spare her feelings. If there was anything that he wished he would never have to experience again, it was a sad or mad Brenda.
Lucas smiled as each one in their friend group came to join them at Emilia's house. When Ashton arrived late, as usual, he gave his best friend a friendly greeting nod before turning his attention back onto the door. Just as he was about to shout through the window again, the door flung open and they were greeted by Emilia and her three dogs. "Emily!" he called happily as he pulled her into a warm hug, breathing in her usual sweet perfume. His sparkling hazel eyes shifted to the little canines and gave each of them a good pet on the head. The dogs barked happily as they overwhelmed him, as they were used to him by now given all the times he's been at Emilia's house.
He smiled and thanked her mother as they were invited to the dinner table to fill their stomachs. He knew better than to turn down her meal offers, as the woman would have taken it personally. Lucas looked over at Garnet as she sat down at the table next to him, flashing her a charming smile. He quickly devoured his second breakfast that day before thanking Emilia's mother once again for the delicious food.
Soon enough, the group was outside by the bus, putting their bags into the back. Lucas was unaware of what Garnet had slipped into his duffle bag as he threw his black bag with his clothing on top of everyone else's, keeping the blue bag with the alcohol on his shoulder. When Emilia asked who wanted to drive, he laughed as he ruffled the girl's hair. "What, too short to reach the pedals?" he teased, his amusing gaze meeting her's. "I would offer, but I don't plan on spending this trip sober, and I'm pretty sure you guys want to stay alive," he replied, already starting to reach for a beer can. "Don't worry guys, I brought enough for everyone. We're going to have so much fun," he reassured them with a bright smile. Lucas then gratefully accepted Brenda's friendship bracelet, appreciating her thoughtful gesture, even though he knew that he would probably take it off later.
Elizabeth smiled happily as Emilia opened the door for them. She greeted Emilia with a quick 'hello' and a smile before walking inside. Immediately after stepping into the house, she was suddenly greeted by Emilia's dogs; barking to get her attention and jumping onto her legs. Elizabeth's smile widened and she bent down to their level so she could pet them and give them a big hug. "Hi Mugsy, Bailey, and Princess. You guys are as cute as ever" she says giving each of them a hug. As she hugged them, they each licked her face in affection. Ever since Elizabeth could remember, dogs have always loved her, and in some cases they loved her more than their owners. Elizabeth loved dogs just as much back. Every dog, ranging from small to large, is cute in her eyes.
Elizabeth was happily playing with the three dogs, until Emilia's mother came over to her to get her to eat. She said hello and allowed a kiss on the cheek from Emilia's mother. "I'm sure it tastes great, but I'm sorry. I already ate before I came here" she said trying to reject the offer as politely as she could. Although Elizabeth was indeed involved with many sports and school activities, and should have ate a lot to keep her energy up; she just couldn't. Elizabeth got full really easily and so she ate lightly but often. It wasn't that long ago since she ate and wasn't yet ready to eat more.
After a long persuasion, Elizabeth got Emilia's mother to stop pushing her to eat. She even apologized many times, knowing that Emilia's mother might take it personally. Finally, she was able to continue playing with the dogs in peace. Elizabeth loved Emilia's mother and felt bad for rejecting her offer, but Elizabeth just didn't want to feel like her stomach was about to explode. At the thought of Emilia's mother, she started to think about her own mother. She heard many stories from her brothers about her parents when she was younger but after seeing how much it hurt her brothers to talk about them; she just stopped asking. She suddenly started to tear up a bit and then quickly wiped them away with her sleeve, when Daniel caught her. "What are you crying about?" he asked staring at her. "Nothing, I just miss my dogs" she lied and Daniel scoffed. "You're such a crybaby," and now it was Elizabeth's turn to scoff. "You're calling me a crybaby? Just the other day you were crying your eyes out at my house when you thought about how we're never going to see each other again after this trip." Daniel glared at her and says "I wasn't crying" before stomping away and towards the dining table to eat. Elizabeth started to laugh slightly because she remembered she had taken pictures of him at the time.
Daniel Young
Daniel grumpily sat down and ate his second breakfast for the day. Unlike Elizabeth, Daniel's stomach was a bottomless pit and was always hungry. He has no reason to even be hungry. It would make sense if he did many sports like Elizabeth, but he doesn't and spends his free days either dancing or lazing around. It just didn't make any sense. How can he eat so much and gain so little weight? After finishing his first plate, he sighed happily and thanked Emilia's mother for the food. Although, one would stop after one plate, especially for breakfast, he immediately went for seconds. Everyone would be surprised how his appetite completely mismatches his image. Elizabeth walked in while carrying Mugsy in her arms, since Mugsy was the smallest dog out of the three, and the other two following after. "You're going to get fat someday if you continue to eat so much." she says seeing how he is already on his second plate. "Hey, I have fast metabolism and plus, I'm a growing boy. I need food." he responds while taking another bite. "Dude, you know once you start training to debut as an idol, you're not going to be able to eat as much as you can now. If you eat so much now, how much self control will you have later?""I'll be able to handle it.""Yeah, sure you can." Elizabeth says sarcastically.
After finishing the second plate of food, Daniel says his thanks to Emilia's mother one more time. Elizabeth puts down Mugsy and says goodbye to the three dogs. The two walk outside to the bus with everyone and placed their duffel bags filled with their clothing in the back. Well, Elizabeth did. Daniel acted cute and persuaded her to take his bag for him. He held onto his bag of snacks while Elizabeth had a smaller bag that is filled with the things she needed to keep her entertained while the bus was moving. When Emilia asked who wanted to drive, Elizabeth says "If nobody will drive, I will, but I never drove a bus before, so I don't know how things will turn out" while rubbing the back of her neck. "I don't want to drive. I'll end up being bored and fall asleep and then we'll crash" he says simply. It's not like he refused because he doesn't like it or that he's lazy, although that is part of the reason, he just knew how he get's when he drives, especially when he has to drive long distance. If he's the one that drives for this trip, there's bound to be a crash or two.
When Brenda mentioned friendship bracelets, Elizabeth's face brightened up and she accepted the bracelet happily, immediately putting it on. Of course she would, the bracelet was cute and so was Brenda. How could she resist? She looked up at Daniel with hopeful eyes but he just avoided eye contact, and she started to glare at him. Daniel knew what she wanted him to do and so he just looked away acting like he knew nothing. Suddenly, she elbows him in the side to force him to look at her. He groans in pain and glares at her while rubbing the side she hit. Elizabeth looked towards Brenda and then back at him, telling him with her eyes what she wanted. Although he did not want to give in so easily, knowing that their would be more painful hits in the future if he didn't do as she says, he sighs and reluctantly accepted the bracelet. She's suppose to do as I say, not the other way around. he thought and sighed again. He didn't like doing what she says but he didn't hate it. Daniel actually like the defiance and the switching of roles sometimes because it made things more interesting or amusing for him. Elizabeth made him do something because it was about Brenda; that's why he didn't like it.
Daniel stared at the bracelet, before putting it in his pocket. He didn't want to wear it at the moment because it reminded him why Elizabeth made him take it. It's not like he'll throw it away; he's not that mean. He's sure he'll wear it later or at least put it away safely in his bag.
Clarence was one of the first of the group into the house with Alaric and Melody with him. He sat with Alaric, comparing notes over the story. "I don't know... I feel like this trip'll be the chance I need to get the inspiration to finish this story..." He smiled meekly, looking it over "it probably sounds crazy, but I see so many good things coming from this trip I don't even know where to start, you know?" He looked at the group as they settled to the bus.
Following on their heels and throwing his stuff on the bus, he listened to Emilia start up the discussion on drivers. He would, but he'd never been the best driver. The whole group knew about the numerous times he got into accidents in his little car, let alone a giant bus. "S-sorry Emilia... I would, but we'd all perish before we arrived if I d-did..." He managed to choke out shyly. He wished he'd been blessed with the ability to speak to others.
As soon as Brenda gave him a bracelet, he blushed profusely "t-thanks Brenda... I love it." He managed out. With as much blood in his cheeks as he had, it was a miracle his face didn't explode. "It's so pretty." He put it on his wrist and examined it. Maybe add a detail like that to the character in chapter five...? He'd have to compare notes to Alaric's later. Clarence watched Melody pull out her vape. He'd never been a fan of any smoking like habits, but he didn't stop her if it made her happy. She never commented on how uncomfortable he was in social situations so he didn't comment on what made her comfortable.
Hikaru bowed his head towards his elder after she'd placed the kiss on his cheek. Truth be told, he wasn't a fan of intimate greetings; it just wasn't what he'd grown up with. However, Emilia's mother was a sweet woman, in his eyes, and she deserved to be treated with respect. Hikaru smiled at the offer for the food and politely declined, instead resorting to sketching the table setting lightly while the others ate. He practiced anywhere he could. He loved to draw, after all.
He was extremely careful about bringing his portfolio onto the bus. He would carelessly toss his bag in the back, yes, but never his portfolio. No no no, that would stay by him at all times. "I really don't think I should drive," He started, scratching the back of his head. "I'm too used to driving on the wrong side of the road." He said a little sheepishly.
It was true, though. He had grown up in Singapore, despite being of japanese origin. The whole set up of the cars in Singapore were different.. He'd crash and burn and that would be a horrible way to start a trip.
"Ahh, Brenda! These are perfect!" The teen cheered, gratuitously pulling on the friendship bracelet. Everything about Brenda was always so adorable and energetic. "I'll have to sketch you later, those accessories are just purrfect." He said with a wink and small smile at the pun.
Brenda smiled graciously as each of her friends took a bracelet. It made her feel all warm and fuzzy, but the feeling soon dwindled when she saw Daniel put his away. She tried, but she also knew that it wasn't going to be easy. The sight did make her upset, but she tried not to show it.
When Emilia came around with the bag of alcohol, Brenda backed away and had a look of disgust plastered across her face. She did not at all enjoy those types of things, but she wouldn't dare to comment on anyone who did- of course, Lucas was an exception. Alaric, on the other hand, decided to take a UV Blue Vodka bottle. It was his personal favorite, because it was the first and only drink he had ever tried.
The kitten giggled a little at Hikaru's comment, and adjusted her ears a little bit. "How about right meow?" This threw her into a fit of even more giggles, and she covered her face as she felt a blush creep on her. It was very cheesy, but also quite effective to her. She loved cats with a passion- a very strong and unhealthy passion- so anything related to them would drive her nuts.
Alaric was toying with the bottle in his hands, and decided to walk over to Clarence. He really did enjoy his presence, and so the two tended to stick together. Of course, he would occasionally talk to Ashton or Melody, but nobody could beat Clarence.
It felt great to have someone who has the exact same interests as you, despite how some people say it's awful. Most believe that you eventually get irritated or bored with each other, but it's turned out to be nothing but a lie so far. When the two were much younger, everyone always said that they would end up becoming best friends or the worst of enemies. Luckily, it all worked out and now they're working on a few projects together.
Alaric first grabbed his bag with his things for writing and drawing, then sat down on a seat next to Clarence. "I'm pretty sure Jessi is driving first, so maybe we can spend this time to go over our notes." He pulled out a black leather journal that had a string wrapped around it to keep it closed, and unraveled it. "I had some ideas for another subplot, but it's more of a romantic one. It would be great in terms of character development, and even the future plot twist we had in mind."
Since Ric was a hopeless romantic who was desperately seeking love, he was always a fantastic writer when it came to relationships and romance. He always seemed to know exactly what to have them say or do, and how to make everything flow. It was a small gift, in a way, but it did upset him sometimes. He had no personal experience with his ideas, but he always pictured and dreamed of them.
Lucas smiled as Melody acknowledged his alcohol announcement and watched as she took out her own vape. "Thank god you brought that. You have to let me use it some time," he told her, his hazel eyes focused on the silver vape pen.
His shifted his attention over to one of his best friends, Emilia, and chuckled amusingly as she reprimanded him for drinking. "Don't worry, I'll be sure not to get too wasted," he reassured her with a teasing wink. "But I make no promises for you. You're going to get wasted at least once on this trip. Trust me," he added with a playful smile. He watched her take the blue duffle from him and dig through for her favorite drink that he had packed. Lucas grabbed a Blue Moon beer for himself and uncapped the bottle with a bottle opener on his key ring before placing the glass between his lips. He allowed the cool beer to trickle down his throat, reveling in the feeling. He caught the empty blue duffle that Emilia threw him after she had unpacked the alcohol into the secret cooler.
"Let's get this show on the road!" he cheered, taking another swig of his beer, before climbing into the bus. His hazel eyes found Garnet as he was going up the stairs and gave her a flirty wink. Lucas would make sure that they were going to sit next to each other.
