Lilia Ratort

Lilia can't do anything at this point as she is knocked out cold by the effort she had to put into one spell. She needs to wake up if she needs to live, otherwise she'll end up being griffin meal. While being in that state, she begins to hear an echoing voice in her head, wanting her to wake up in this kind of situation.

Get up! Your comrades need you! Layla needs you! If you give up now, then you're done for! Get up!

By the time a griffin dives into Lilia, she suddenly pulls her knife out, gets up, and slashes the griffin's face just before it could touch her. A purple aura is emanating throughout her body, and if one could look closer, her eyes have turned purple and there are even cracks along her face. What could this mean? Could this show how much of a potential Ratort she is? This is actually something that could be related to her family's talented blood. She stares down at the wounded griffin before making an orb of energy in her hand. Her face brings in a change of personality from a shy innocent girl to a ruthless merciless cold-heart killer. She then proceeds to obliterate the griffin as it tried to attack once more with a huge burst from the orb. After that has happened, the aura disappears and her face turns back to normal before falling to the bed grass again, this time feeling exhausted. As she gasps for air, Lilia thought to herself.

"What...was that? It felt like I've been possessed by a spirit. My magic grew powerful for like a moment, but yet I couldn't even feel it. What is going on with me?"

Layla Tigasin

The battle is on, and Layla has yet to make a move against the swarm of griffins. With three injured, she decides to finish one of them, but then there are some that have not been hurt gathered around and let out a bloodcurdling screech that deafens the group. Layla didn't like that. She covered her ears, but even that wasn't enough. Eventually, it became to grew over her when her eyes turned red as blood. She let's out a mighty roar before going keeping her club and dig her fingers into the ground.

"Layla no likey! Layla kill!"

She proclaims as she lifts up a large chunk of the ground and then throws it onto the group of griffins. Some may avoid, but to those that are slow may be unfortunate. If it hits, they'll get sent fly back into the foggy abyss, and may even be dead.

Richter sees lilia get up. And take down the gryphon.
"Damn. Gotta teach me that move"
He gains feeling inside his other arm. He now can use it. He feels the blood inside him almost increase the amount of repairing blood cells to enhance his recovery. The bone is now mended but it still hurts like a bitch. He summons his shield and instead runs to pick up his axe. He grabs it and uses it with one hand. A gryphon nearby is swooping at Lilias now unconscious body.
"Seems I have to do help her yet again."
He sheaths his axe and puts his Sheild into its small state. Resting on his arm like a watch. He pulls out his huge ass longsword and charges at the gryphon
"Your meal today. Gryphon on a stick"
Combined with his strength and the sharpness of the blade. He runs it through the gryphons neck. Knocking the gryphon off course from lilia. The gryphon tumbles through the field and gets back up... it pants but isn't stoped
"Try me you fucker"
He pulls out his two short swords and charges at the beast. The beast is charging back and begins to pounce on him. But Richter pulls a Legolas move and slides on his knees and cuts the gryphons belly. Having all its internal organs come falling out into his face.
"Bloody fucking hell"
He wipes of the intestines and get up. He pulls the great sword out of the gryphons neck. And Simmons his shield. He places it in pavise tower shield mode on one side of lilia. And richter guarding the other side
He has his great sword equipped in a defensive stance.
"Don't worry. I got you"
His face looks concerned and worried for her well being. Which by what vibe he gives off. Seems almost unatural.

At first, Eve was calmly walking up the islands along with the rest of the group. It was a relatively peaceful trek, and Eve enjoyed the time she spent with Veronica and Atlas. The islands then violently shook the entire party. Her spirits helped her survive the tremors, but there was no telling what happened to the other members of her group.

Eve's eyes slowly opened to the sound of screeching birds. Her attention sharpened at the sound of monsters, and she analyzed her surroundings. The rock she rested on was the smallest of many others stretching up behind her. Beyond those was a fog that even her robotic eyes couldn't look past.

She then turned to the source of those bird-like noises. Albino Griffins. Six of them. Eve was fully awake now, recognizing the threat of these creatures. She tried turning to her spirits, but they weren't there. After mentally reviewing the abilities of those creatures the fairy realized that Albino Griffins could interfere with summoning spirits. Without Schwi and Shu to back her up, combat would be much more difficult than usual.

Eve watched as one of the many people she hadn't talked to yet, a fellow fairy, shot a griffin with his bow....only for it to bounce right off. The griffin's sturdy hide seemed much more difficult to penetrate than she initially expected. She saw the elf draw a knife and attempt to cut the griffin's eye, perhaps trying to deal damage to it through a weak point.

At this, Eve sprouted her techno-magical wings and dashed towards the fairy. Even if he wounded the griffin, he wouldn't be able to handle it if all 6 of them turned on him at once. And the griffins were completely immune to light magic, meaning they wouldn't take any damage at all from her light-magic fueled guns. She approached with urgency, dashing through the air in a slight panic.

"Analysis: You won't survive if the griffins attack at once! Proposal: Take my hand so we can retreat!" She reached out, aiming to grab the fairy before the griffins could retaliate.

The Second Island: Clair O'Reilly

Once Clair began her dash she immediately regretted it. Not only did her sudden movements and fleeing action court two of the griffons towards her but it also left her in a position where she had very few options remaining. Clair ran and she ran as fast as she could, which was actually not all that fast but more than enough to keep her enemies at a bare minimum safe distance. With the two large creatures on her heels and with the trees still quite some distance away Clair switched gears. Opting now for plan B she took a sharp left, leaving the griffons to turn more wide with a combination of their wingspan and larger mass.

With Clair now heading quickly toward the lake many would wonder if she was cornering herself but to Clair, this action was, in fact, the safest bet she had at survival. You see, Griffons had feathers and relied heavily on said feathers for lift and aerodynamical support. In other words without the proper use of their fethers griffons were left as one big and heavy target incapable of flight. And what rendered fethers such as griffons useless? Water. With wet feathers and fur not only would the griffons be weighed down but they would also be incapable of flight. Which would make out running and outmanoeuvring the beasts a lot easier for Clair.

Upon reaching the lakeside Clair dove in, taking to the deep end as quickly as possible, diving out of sight and hopefully out of mind. From this point on she had about two minutes left until she needed to resurface for oxygen. Hopefully, if everything went to plan. The Griffons would choose to fly above the lake to avoid wettening their fethers and if Clair was extremely lucky they would get bored and move on before she has to resurface. Fen

Managing floating circles of ice was hard on its own, and it didn’t help that the girl, who started to climb had some crazy ideas and decided to jump on gryphon. In some way Fen couldn’t understand, she overpowered the gryphon and cut one of its wings off. It was a temporary victory though – without flying monster, the attacker had no means of preventing her own fall.

"ANYONE WANNA GIVE ME A HAND?" the girl shouted, plunging down towards the ground.

It was already a dangerous situation, but to add to it the gryphons started roaring deafeningly at the same time. Their screeches caused Fen physical pain, enough to break his concentration and melt all of the circles around him. In an almost reflexive manner, the nymph bent some water and covered his ears with it, what let him regain some awareness of his environment.

As Veronica was just a dozen meters above the ground there was no time for finesse – Fen clapped his hands, as if he was about to pray, and poured incredible amount of mana into the steam particles under the girl. All of them were suspended in the air, acting as a sort of mattress for the girl, slowing down her fall very abruptly, but saving her life.

‘Okay, you f*cks.’ Fen rose his hands and let large spheres of water form around him. He looked at the screeching animals with a hateful expression on his. ‘Let’s see if you will like a taste of your own medicine!’

The mage threw away his arms and sent five water missiles in the general direction of the gryphons. He already knew it would be pointless to try to attack them directly with magic, but this is not what he had planned. As the spheres were coming close to monsters, Fen took a powerful swipe and pushed his hands in the direction of gryphons. Just before their beaks, the water bullets’ entire volumes evaporated violently, causing sudden decompression of steam so powerful it created sound waves capable of breaking bones at point blank.

Maximylon
The nearly conjured warhammer in Maximylon’s hand disintegrated into a wisp of white smoke. He knew by the ricochet of Vilias’s arrow, it wouldn’t have any effect against the beasts. Virtunis blood hot in his veins, he craved the fight, but he knew better to assist those more capable than he. If Vilias truly believed he could take down one of the beasts, he would assume that trust was warranted. He held out his hands and from the negative space between his fingers he conjured a silvery net, woven carefully with his magic. Heavy weights tugged it down as it disbanded from his palms and the mastery made it clear he had done this many times before, perhaps to capture something a bit more fiery than a griffin.

Just as he readied his stance and slowed his breathing to cast it against the enemy, Vilias was intercepted by another member of the party and Maximylon grimaced as he came to a revelation. There was no way anyone could take on such a monster with only a dagger, but something about Vilias’s actions had him reminiscent of his earl. And as a damn stupid impulse, he had allowed himself to trust that subconscious confidence rather than follow his intuitions.

He wound up once more and skillfully flung the net in attempt to capture and hold back the enemy, rather than contribute to Vilias’s plan as he had intended on doing, knowing that if he couldn’t fight the beasts then he could at least protect his cohorts. But just as the net whipped around one of the griffins bound to attack the two, the glowing rope snapped into a thousand pieces and plumed as it evaporated against the creature’s body.

“Oh, you have got to be kidding,” he grumbled and scratched the stubble on his neck lazily, letting out a dreary sigh as his mana loss hit him. Halfheartedly, he picked up a rock off the ground and tossed it up, re-catching it in his palm. “That’s why the gods give nuts to men with no teeth, I suppose." In the middle of his poorly timed bout of disappointment, he called out to the pair, "I second fleeing!

Partially concerned by the mass of griffins charging at him, he took a few quick steps back and turned his side to the flock, readying to flee or fight, whichever came first...

Katheryn
Katheryn’s armor shattered against her body, knocking her onto her back with an abrupt fracture of her concentration and impressive loss of mana. Pain seared through her body and she sucked in a breath through her teeth, but didn’t catch the sound of her own wince. She turned over onto her side and touched her ear, pulling away warm, vibrant blood from the side of her head where she touched. The loss of her hearing was the confirmation her plan hindered her more than helped her, and she stood again, eyes landing on the horizon of the floating land. She was nearly out of mana. If she ran, perhaps she could make it out alive. If she ran…

She drew Chasme, and the blade glistened with a hunger nearly as ravenous as her own.

Spinning on her heel, she rushed forward, scaling the stairs toward the wounded griffin. As she closed in on her target, her lizard brain digested the information of her strike, and she threw herself from the height, directly past her kill. Chasme’s crimes of war were all too apparent as the silver blade swung through the beast’s throat and she cleared the distance from one platform to the next. The cut was too quick to kill it instantly, but clean enough to spray blood across Katheryn’s side and decorate her golden hair with crimson gems as she hit the next landing. She rolled as her mother taught her, turning back toward the griffin in one swift pull of her momentum, just in time to watch the beast become felled by her blade. With a war cry she couldn't hear, and blood trilling down her face as it mixed with her sweat, she readied Chasme under the flock of beasts, tightly bracing the forsaken blade at her hip and with both hands as she waited for her prey to fall. She would accompany the mage’s powerful sound waves as an unnecessary violence. She intended to bring him more than some simple tribute.

When Vilias' arrow bounced off of the griffin, the beast didn't even seem to notice. However, as Vilias held out his dagger during the griffin's charge, before he could be drawn away by the warnings of his comrades the dagger sliced clean through the griffin's eye all the way to its neck. Bleeding and letting out a screech, the griffin kept running straight forward in their path anyway. Peculiar Panda Peculiar Panda

The small pack kept charging straight through the island without any seeming destination, but in their path was one of the party: Ayrea. It seemed like the mermaid had been knocked unconscious after the shaking of the islands, but was all the way on the opposite end of the island - making it impossible for Vilias, Eve or Maximylon to reach her in time. Luckily, Tobias and Slagz were both on the other side of the island as well. Slagz, immediately after seeing that Aryea was in danger, had sprinted out to the mermaid and was currently trying to pull her out of the path of the griffins. However, Slagz was missing the body mass required to pull Aryea's larger form, and Tobias soon ran out to help as well.

The duo were in the process of lifting the mermaid to carry her to safety when they ran out of time: the griffins were upon them, and without stopping their charge the albino griffins ran through the three. While they didn't go underfoot, the trio were pushed off the side of the island and plummeted into the fog below. Three of the griffins ran off of the island to pursue their catch, while the other three albino griffins stayed on the island in the hopes of catching more prey.

Island Two
Opponents Left: 2
MIA/Deceased: Alexa, Atlas

The two griffins attacking Ritcher and Lilia successfully defeated, and Metaralis' sword slicing straight through a third griffin's back into its heart, the only two opponents left were the two griffins chasing after Clair. The two persistent griffins had continued to chase her, but after seeing that their comrade was in danger Alexa and Atlas had intercepted them part way. Alexa, brash and unthinking, had immediately yelled at Atlas "I'll take the one on the left, you take the one on the right," without thinking about how she would manage to defeat a griffin close-quarters with only her dagger. As Atlas turned his attention to the right griffin, Alexa was immediately overwhelmed. Without the support of her gang and matched up against this strong opponent, she had no chance.

Immediately knocked to the ground, Alexa's neck was torn straight through by the griffin's beak and the woman lay dead. On Atlas' side, things weren't going much better. His main skill was as a marksman, so this close-quarter combat was not his specialty. His lack of agility meant that he had difficulty dodging attacks, and it wasn't long before the griffin tore through his defense and Atlas, too, was dead. However, all this action did mean that the griffins had totally forgotten about Clair, and were now so preoccupied eating their prey they would be easy targets for anybody still living on the island. Meanwhile, Atlas' pet Oz scampered away into the trees.

Island Three
Opponents Left: 5 (4 injured)
MIA/Deceased: Veronica, Aguar

Even as Aguar was focused on dissipating the fog around the group to better see the island, the loud cry from the thunder griffins hit him totally exposed. The water mage suffered a massive brain spasm that left him lifeless on the ground, though no griffins descended immediately to claim their prey because there were still opponents left to defeat. However, the combination between Layla's chunk of ground that she threw into the griffins and Fen's water missiles meant that three griffins were killed, and four were further injured. While Fen's water magic didn't break any bones, it had severely impacted the griffin's ability to balance and coordinate their wings for flight, which meant that the two injured griffins were sent spiraling down right on top of where Katheryn was standing in wait, and the other two that had been hit with Layla's rock had started falling down to the earth by Veronica.

While Veronica had been saved by Fen, Fen's massive use of mana combined with the decompression water missiles left him with no mana left to spend; leaving him without magic until his mana could start to regenerate. Meanwhile, Veronica had pulled herself off of the ground, but with the sudden descent of the two griffins Layla had injured, she was left overwhelmed. Seeing that she couldn't use her blood magic with people so close by, not to mention that she was disoriented from her fall, the woman perished under the long talons of the thunder griffins. However, the two griffins were severely hurt, and now that they were grounded their shrieks didn't carry much momentum.

METARALIS FULGURHIEL - ISLAND TWO

With the beast slain with his sword, Metaralis smirked with satisfaction. Hopping off the dead griffon's back, his expression contorted in a grimace. He was sore all over, especially his left shoulder. Blood was still oozing from his right leg, but at least his head had stopped bleeding for the most part. He quickly looked around to see the two last alive griffins preoccupied with their "dinner". The black-haired man frowned at the two people who had been killed. There's nothing he could have done, anyway, he had been busied with his own problems. Using the little respite time they had, Metaralis pulled the leg of his pants out of his boot and ripped a piece of it before shoving it back in. He tightly wrapped the piece of tissue around his right thigh where the wound was to prevent it bleeding too much until he could get some real bandages. Avoiding the two griffins, he joined Ritcher and Lilia.

"Don't let yourself feel bad for what happened, we all knew it would be dangerous. Let's take the occasion that they are distracted to kill them. Then we can find a way to join the others," he told them, already holding his sword in an offensive stance.

He started approaching the griffins from behind, making sure to not look at their meal. When close enough, he yelled "Now!" to the others and made a quick movement in a curve, shoving his sword into the side of one of the griffins. One down, one to go.

DELASTARH NAGAHOSHI - ISLAND THREE

His sense of sight came back in time to see the poor Veronica getting ripped apart by the griffins. Horror was quickly replaced by anger as Delastarh let out a roar of rage, shooting with no pause that the two winged beasts with no respite. The bullets of energy not missing their targets once, since they were easy targets. The ringing in his ears was still blocking most of the sounds, but he didn't care at this moment. When those two were taken care of, the blond man ran back to his cover rock, still raining bullets on their enemies. He wouldn't let them the time to hurt anyone else! He would protect them!

Lilia Ratort

Lilia couldn't do anything to save the two fellow adventurers and all she can do now is watch in horror as the griffins devour their dead bodies, even so as to vomit by the foul stench it gave off. She cannot bear this kind of grotesque sight and all she wanted is to be back with her feral lover. Her body has took a very large toll upon unleashing her new unknown powers. Just then, Metaralis and Richter has made their offensive, and Lilia stayed on the sidelines knowing her condition. With the griffons now dead, the young elf tries to stand on her two feet as she is approaching the two, but if she ever falls, one of them might have to catch her and might end up being her love interest despite her sexuality and relationship with Layla.

Layla Tigasin

It was very effective sure enough, but not only did it left casualties on the enemy side, but also on the adventurer's side. Seeing as two of them have perished, Layla could not believe what she has witnessed, and as a response, she throws herself in a pit of rage. her mind get distorted as she let's out a very powerful roar that can be heard from miles and the force it unleashes immediately clears up the fog around the island. Layla is now in a berserk state that even the gods can feel her rage.

"YOU DIE~!!!"

The feral woman gets down on all fours and dashes at one of the injured griffins. She digs her claws deep into the griffin's neck and rip it out. She then proceeds to rip open its belly and pull out the insides, blood and guts all over the grass. Once she gets out the heart of the griffin, she crushes it and proceeds to eat it whole. What a savage! Once the griffin has died, Layla went over to the last one. She gets her bloody hands on the griffin's head and presses her thumbs on its eyes until they are squished. She then gets her hands onto the mouth and with such incredible force, she rips off the upper portion of its head, thus killing it effectively. But she is not done thought. She takes out the brain and proceeds to eat it like the heart. After that, Layla begins to calm down. She looks up at the sky, clear from fog, and then she let's out a scream to the heavens.

"LILIA~!!!"

Clair hit the water fast and hard, surprisingly she managed to avoid the shallows as a result but it wasn't much of a trade-off for the position she soon found herself in. Clair, having managed to avoid her tag-teaming pursuers, was now in yet another dire situation. You see upon submerging herself Clair caught her left foot in the corals below and was now fighting against both time and stamina in order to free herself from the depts of the pool. She was not very impressed. After some time and quite a lot of pain, Clair managed to break free and surface for air, her lungs having almost given out welcomed the fresh air indiscriminately. The stench of blood becoming nothing more than an afterthought as it was sucked in with whatever else lingered in the air.

With some effort, Clair brought herself back to the landfall opposite all the action and with minute movement, shuffled her way into the tree line aside her. Once inside and secure Clair let out a sigh and moved to inspect her ankle. It was cut but ultimately would provide no hindrance to her as long as it remained disinfected. With her ankle inspected and herself safe from harm, for now, Clair found a moment of relaxation and at that moment her adrenaline left her and what followed was an immediate blackout. Clair had fallen unconscious from sheer exhaustion.

METARALIS FULGURHIEL - ISLAND TWO

Metaralis nodded to Ritcher with a faint smile. Despite everything put against them, most of them managed to escape with their lives. It was sad for those who died, but he believed in what he said. They knew that mission would be dangerous. They could have backed away at the pub. Maybe he could have helped them if he hadn't tried to ride one of those wild beasts, but he never was a leader or a group person. He had learned to work with Delastarh, but that's about it. Anyway, what was done was done. Not point in pondering on "what if". They wouldn't come back anyway.

He watched as Ritcher went to help Lilia. With his busted shoulder and painful leg, he couldn't really help anyone without causing himself much more pain. The island was suddenly peaceful like nothing had happened. The sky and the island itself didn't care one bit that living being fought and lost their lives among them. Gosh, he hoped that Delastarh was alright. He couldn't bear it if he was dead and he hadn't been there for him. He would probably just walk off this damn island.

The silence was suddenly disrupted - thankfully disrupting his dark thoughts too - by Clair bursting out of the water from the small river. She seemed pretty distraught as she swam to the opposite side and dragged herself to the trees. Metaralis frowned and turned to Ritcher, making sure they were fine before making a high jump over the river, his boots making a "pwoosh!" sound in the process. When he had landed on the other side and walked to the woman, she was already out cold. Except for the cut on her ankle, she didn't seem in any danger.

Metaralis kneeled beside her, ripping another piece of his clothes to tie it around her ankle tightly for now. Looking back at Ritcher, it didn't seem like Lilia would be able to walk on her own. Not like they could go anywhere without the bridges or a clear view. The man just sighed and leaned against the tree next to the girl. There was nothing they could do for now. Putting the back of his head against the tree and closing his eyes, he let his worried thoughts drift toward Delastarh.
