The Inn at the Edge of the World (OOC)

I'm not as familiar with the currency to know if two silver is a reasonable price for a week's worth of rations. Plus it's not exactly like we need them right now, it'd just be a supplement to buff against any misfortune we encounter on the way. I'll side with either decision on this, so count me as undecided for now.

Also I see no reason not to hail the Inquisitors and make our presence known. The more innocent we act the more likely they'll be to let us pass on our way. Besides, they might be willing to offer us intel on some new development in the Gatewood. The only ones we'd have to worry about are Lyke and Sam, since one's a criminal and the other has an 'ability' that the rest of us aren't aware of yet. Pretty sure we're good though as long as they stay quiet in the caravan while we travel.

Unless you guys think it's a trap? How hard is it to steal Inquisitorial gear and pose as them?

Oh, and the two Scouts (Sam and Adelaide) can interact how they like with trapper. You know, persuade, intimidate, seduce, lie, barter, steal, rob, or kill him and take his stuff anyway. Shit's all up to you guys.

Actually I was the one that went with Sam, so we'll see how that pans out between him and I.

I mean, I really don't see a reason to do anything nefarious to the poor guy. He's out here on his own anyhow, and it's not like we need the food to survive at the moment. We could try bartering him down some, maybe? Or maybe...

Ah shit, I meant to say Abram.

And yeah, Intellect (2) or Intuition (3), for Investigation, with an extra die, 'cause of your Advantage Merchant Minded having a focus in Investigate: Appraisal. So yeah, three or four dice, your choice.

Definitely four, no reason not to do so.

Ealhstan could handle the Inquisition guys; after all he is still technically an Inquisitor. He might be able to get something useful out of them as colleagues. He has an Inquisitorial seal on the pommel of his sword to prove that he's with the Inquisition, so we could make them allies with some luck.

To check, we have Abram and Sam out Scouting and finding the trapper and their abode.

Meanwhile, at the caravan with the Inquisitorial party approaching, we have the Crone, Lyke, Adelaide, Osric, Bavric and Ealhstan to put on a good face.

Is Bavric (and @Stickdom ) still with us, as we set out on this adventure?

That's about the jist of things. I'm also thinking that Bavric is no longer with us, much to our loss. Not sure why, but they haven't responded to anything or even viewed any of the threads in over 3 weeks. I think it's safe to say we no longer have a bard in the company.

I think we let Eahlstan do the talking, but don't try to talk. We just go by, honest citizens, minding our own business. If they stop us, he talks them into letting us go without trouble.

Alright, many serious and sincere apologies from myself and Bavric, I've currently been wrapped up in getting my house ready for an across-country move, so I've been necessarily absent from all things RpN. I'm assuming that Bavric has been keeping to himself/mindlessly being bunnied along for this portion of the RP, I'm pretty sure I can reliably participate now, what has happened of interest that would be immediately in front of Bavric's eager curiosity? :3

The caravan is coming towards the Gatewood and we see a caravan of Inquisitors coming our way. Haven't decided what to do about that yet but some of us think we should let our own Inquisitor do the talking to help smooth over relations.

Aha, in that case, I'll simply leave Bavric be for the time being until something happens with said Inquisitors. He wouldn't be overly fond of them himself, but has no reason to hide from them, so he'd pretty much just ignore them until either they started something or we get past them, or some other unforeseen circumstance which will surely happen, no doubt.

@Stickdom It's cool brah, just maybe a word of warning next time. But the way this game works, it should be pretty easy to assume folks fading into the background and shit, so it's not that much of an issue most of the time.

@KamiKahzy Nah, he's pretty much on the mark with that price for his cured meats. Granted, it's not something you're gonna want to eat day in, day out, but it ain't gonna go bad any time soon.

I'd make a post now, but goddamn I'm tired. Hopefully tomorrow, though still, feel free to post anyway.

Yeah, I usually put up a warning before I hit a busy spell, but it literally hit me out of nowhere about 2 weeks ago and didn't let up enough for me to even get on to say "hey, I'll be around, just not available", but I've got a bit more free time now, I should at least be able to check in daily, if not post as often. :)

Well we're about to set foot in a forest were it's an extremely bad idea to go hunting off the track unless extremely nessessary. So if supplies run low, we're going to need it.

You guys are off with the trapper while the Caravan is encountering the Inquisitorial wagon. And you currently have about three weeks of food, having eaten one during this week. Your remaining journey should only take another week...

Yeah, I think it might be in our best interest to buy the food now. I'm trying to put myself into an "Oregon Trail" mindset for this.

"Lyke has contracted dysentery." "Damnit Lyke! We told you not to drink that water!"

We probably ought to get food, true... but there's a part of me that knows that if we buy the food we won't be able to afford something else we need. Besides; who trusts food given to us by some random trapper in the wilderness? Might be poisoned... :P

Well unfortunately I didn't roll high enough to really discern how good the quality of the meat is. From what I can tell it's alright, but then again that was working off of one success. =P
