Realistic or Modern The Hostage

Richard was bored, that was never good. He wasn't like other people, this was something he had become very aware of in his youth. The brunette liked to hurt things, people usually. The more they screamed, begged, and cried the more he enjoyed his time with them. How long had he been like this, most of his life, his mother had made sure that he would survive in this harsh world. Richard's mother was a prostitute, and his father belonged to a gang. His father liked to smakc him around especially after he'd been drinking, and his mother only told him to stop his crying and learn to take the beatings. If he cried then she smacked him around too, so he just started to smile when he got hit and learned to endure whatever came his way.

His grey eyes scanned the people in the park, children laughing and playing while their parents watched. The old couple feeding the birds, and the other who were out for a stroll. It was boring and just didn't make sense to Richard at all, why were they yelling at the kids who got into fights it meant they weren't totally pathetic, or the people wandering around aimlessly, they weren't checking to make sure they weren't being followed. All and all it just proved to be true there were two types of people in this world threats and prey, and everyone here was prey to Richard.

He didn't have a typical job, and honestly he wouldn't have lasted in one long. Richard joined his father's gang when he was a about eleven. As he got older and more violent he actually joined in on hits and got a reputation for being rather sadistic. Once he'd made a name for himself, he moved away from his father's ganng as he found he could work as a hitman and do what he enjoyed almost all the time and make good money doing it. This shift also meant that there were fewer people in his life who would continue to harm him. Of course this also made him slightly paranoid, but it kept him alive.

Normal people he just didn't understand, emotions he hadn't felt anything other anger for most of his life, and on occasion pleasure. Right now though he didn't have any jobs and blowing things up got too much attention and he didn't want to have to disappear. So he'd just have to find a new play thing, the other one only lasted a week thankfully after that some jobs did come in. He wondered if he should take a man again or maybe a woman he liked their screams better and they were typically easier to handle. So why not find some nice unsuspecting lady to take back to his place where they would have all sorts of fun. He smirked at the thought and began to walk around the park for someone who would be a good replacement for the last play thing.

After all the man was about average height for a woman and slender in build, it made people underestimate him and he liked the edge that gave. No one ever seemed concerned about him until it was too late, just the way he liked it.
