The Good Ship (Flighter and Oit)

"Huh?" Sanade woke up from her reverie, and her eyes settled on the heavily armored guard, whose hand was outstretched towards her. A chivalrous attempt it would seem. Right, this was definitely not the past either. Chivalry was but a story that many told when they were bored and had their minds addled by mead. This was some sort of alternate story book fantasy. Damned if she knew what book, though.

"If you would come with me, ma'am, into the castle, I will call for a maid of some sort to tend to that hand of yours."

Sanade looked down at her hand. A single rivulet of blood rand down to her thumb and dripped onto the pavement. her body moved almost immediately. Her left hand dug into her pocket, pulled out a handkerchief and wiped up the blood from the ground and then her hand. An old habit from cleaning up the tables in the restaurant. Not a speck of dirt or blemish should remain in her sight. She flexed her right hand, testing it and registering the pain in her body. She wiped up the rest of the blood and faced the armored knight again. "That won't be necessary. I cut myself all the time." Oh god, that implied so many things. Sanade's mind chided, but she waved that thought away. "One way you could help though, is to inform me on the date, the time and my current disposition. Where I am right now. I...ah...lost track of time and place when I went out for a walk."

((I stared at this for a good two hours or so, then I began making a reploo

A crappy one))

Chrysaorus let Todd scavenge through the piles of earth books, despite them being worn out and broken (well, most of them). It seemed to make him happy and, despite her not quite understanding her own feelings, she noticed herself being quite glad. Or something like that.

Then came his demonstration of a hug. He got out if his seat, leaned in forward, and wrapped his arms around Chrysaorus. "Oh, so this is a hug?" Chrysaorus mused, "What does it do?"

--

((Imma get Inne's in one moment in a merged double post because it's on the next page))
Garren gave the woman an almost clueless look. It was awkward, how he held his arm out to her, and how she didn't seem to take it.

His eyes were focused in on both of her hands, as she had almost immediately pulled out a handkerchief and wiped away the blood from it, as well as cleaning the little bits of it that had fallen onto the ground. Surely that won't get rid of the cut, or anything that will come after it, he thought, now seeing that she was testing her cut hand for pain. His mouth was left open for the whole period of time that he spent staring, at what he thought was denial.

He snapped out of his gazing fit, shut his mouth, and drew his arm back. It was then that the lady had faced her again, stating a statement that was pretty much disturbing.

"That won't be necessary. I cut myself all the time."

"Then you really need to--"

"One way you could help though, is to inform me on the date, the time and my current disposition. Where I am right now. I...ah...lost track of time and place when I went out for a walk."

Garren bit his lip. Going on a walk? Did she mean traveling? The man sighed, and tried recalling the date from memory. "It's Solace 834..."

"What does it do", Chrysaorus had asked and Todd didn't know whether to laugh or cry. It was such a strange question to ask. He was so used to people just... Knowing. How could he even begin to explain the meaning and use of a hug? What it was supposed to "do"? Todd thought for a few seconds before he came to an answer. Or at least, as best of an answer as he could give.

"It -- A hug? Uh --" A stumble of a start, "-- It's a, a-a uh, a form of affection. Or if you're sad, it can be used to show sympathy and to give comfort, or whatever. Hugs are a nice and warm gesture of love or friendship. It's a good thing, basically."

Okay, good enough. There was nothing else to say, so Todd simply kept hugging Chrysaorus. May as well while he could, right? At least until the queen starts getting creeped out.

Chrysaorus didn't know what a hug was, until he explained. But his interpretation of this so called "hug" proposed many more questions. She got a bit agitated in his grip, though not for the typical reason. It was only that her confusion led to her emotions running amok. She didn't know the major emotions, or what they done to a person.

"That's nice. But, what is love."

Todd stared blankly for another few seconds before he let go of Chrysaorus, shoulders sagged from his dismay. He now had to explain one of the most indescribable emotions there was. He crouched, which he found more comfortable, and now he was looking up at the queen.

"That's a bit harder to explain than a hug," Todd warned Chrysaorus, "but I'll try my best for you."

He paused, thinking again, rubbing the back of his neck as he usually did when he was thinking. It was hard to describe a feeling without using the feeling in the description, wasn't it? But no, no, he finally came up with something.

"Love is that feeling you get when you... Really care for someone. It's a sort of passionate affection, I guess. A warm fuzzy feeling you get for another person. A mother can love her child, for example, or a husband can love his wife and vice versa."

Todd smiled up at Chrysaorus.

"Love is a big part of American culture -- Oh, America is a part of Earth, by the way. Our stories are full of things like... Knights falling in love with princesses, the hero getting the girl, or the heroine getting the guy, men and women turning to villainy because of losing love -- It's basically heavily ingrained into who we are, y'know? One of the most infamous comics of its time was Spider-Man number one-twenty-two; The Night Gwen Stacey Died. Though that's more about losing love than anything. And you don't know who Spider-Man is anyway, or Gwen Stacey for that matter. Look at me, rambling, hah. I'm a rambling man. I'll stop now."

Todd then sat there, embarrassed.

Sanade dabbed her wound again with her handkerchief. The blood should stop flowing soon, and the wound should be no less than a sting if she tried moving her hand. She paid enough attention to hear the guard's response and nod away as he replied, her mind whirring as she mulled over the situation. Solace 834? It did seem that she was in some other universe. She dug her hands into her pocket and felt the wooden sheathe of the knife. This piece of crap brought her here, there should be a way to bring her back. There was absolutely no point to panic here, nothing. Even if she could potentially be missing for a few days or so and the police and such would be scouring the whole of Japan for her dead body and or or her possible kidnapper-murderer. Sanade smirked at the thought of it. She highly doubted either her father or uncle would mind her absence, with both of them probably making jokes about her going out to relieve her boredom from the house and the restaurant. Sanade removed her hand from her pocket and nodded to the guard. She started towards the castle, paused and spun around to ask another question. Her foot caught against the cobblestones and she stumbled a bit, before regaining her composure.

Sanade cleared her throat with a cough, brushing her trousers down. "Ah, is there...is there anyone proficient with the use of magicks around here? I need some assistance with something." Of course, the only way to solve the pickle she was in right now, if the knife was indeed utilizing magic, was the presence of more magic, no? It was a sound plan, very much so. Nothing could go wrong with this one.

Chrysaorus had no clue that the term 'love' was a hard one to define. But then again, it was probably the case, since she couldn't really understand the feeling in herself. Others, perhaps. But that was just the thing with her and emotions. She knew of them, but it was quite difficult to understand.

"So, love is developed, if I understand correctly, with interaction and time spent together? Implying from the examples given." Chrysaorus needed to make sure she had an idea. She didn't care much for the ramblings, only the explanation, even if it was clear that he was embarrassed. "I'm only asking. There's no need to think that you're humiliating yourself."

--

The guard couldn't help but feel a little off-put with the lady's disregard for the cut on her arm. He kept staring at her, frowning, watching her head off to the castle. He advanced forward along with her, knowing the guards would have stopped her if she was unaccompanied inside. But, he slowed down as she turned around, and asked him another question.

"Ah, is there...is there anyone proficient with the use of magicks around here? I need some assistance with something."

"Well yes, there's the Queen who uses magic..." Garren replied, "Why?"

Todd's voice suddenly got panicky, set off that she noticed his embarrassment.

"There's -- ?? I-I'm not -- I don't think i'm humiliating myself here, I'm not embarrassed or anything, I was just explaining this thing to you and then I started rambling! Whoops!"

He then got up and shuffled over to the other side of the table once again, sitting in the chair, rubbing his neck again.

"So... So there you have it. Love. Yeah, it's developed over time. Some believe in 'love at first sight', but that's bologna. People learn to care for each other in that way. It's a feeling that grows. I wish I could explain it better, but I'm no dictionary. I'm just a guy."

~

Walter, with a towel wrapped around his waist, snuck out of the bathroom he bathed in somewhat angry. Todd hadn't come back. It had been an hour or so now, and he had been stuck waiting for a guy who definitely wasn't coming back. Walter supposed he'd have to find that girl now.

Off he went, running through the halls and sniffing around for those girls' scents, and in doing so he momentarily found himself in the entrance hall where there came walking in a young looking girl and a guard. With a startled yelp, he sprinted off in another direction and, now embarrassed, he continued his search until he found the right room (which reeked of one of the girls' smells). Walter opened the door and entered.

"Uh, hello?" He greeted meekly, quickly stepping in and closing the door, "I'll be needing my clothes back, please."

Chrysaorus rose a hand into the air. "No, it's fine. The explanation is sufficient enough." She leaned back into her chair and put her head onto her hand. "I thought it was convincing; how you were embarrassed. I guess not."

--

When the girls finished, they patiently waited for Todd to return to pick up the clothes. But the clothes weren't picked up. They waited, until they heard the door opening.

Airii stepped out from a pile of clothes and approached Walt, pulling him, then pushed him lightly into the dressing room. Then Eirii took the clothes and tossed them back at Walt without looking at him. And finally, Drianne shut the door. The three giggled at their own little "game" and waited.

Todd became flustered again. She was toying with him, of course. He may as well stop lying about it. Todd stared at his legs, not daring to look the queen in the eye.

"Alright, fine, so I was embarrassed. But it's an embarrassing topic. Talking about feelings like love is embarrassing."

~

Relieved to be in the safety of privacy once again, Walter changed in the dressing room. It was hard for him to get everything to look right. He came to this world in these clothes, after all. How could he remember which part went on when? And why did he have so many layers in the first place?

After some trial and error, Walter managed to get the entire outfit on, and he walked out, brushing himself off.

"Thank you for your assistant, young girls of varying ages. What were your names -- Right, Drianne, Airii and Erii. Thank you all. Yep."

"Ah."

Sanade pointed at the young man who had appeared at the doors of the castle, wearing nothing but a towel, her facial expression saying nothing more than dull surprise. Long locks of brown hair, well built torso, tall, and the eyes of an angel from high, he looked like the kind of person one would see on a magazine. Well, that was what Sanade thought anyway, she never picked up one of those abhorrent things. “H-hey, there’s a semi-nude man o’er yonder. You let these people wander here? He’s dripping water all over the damn place. Shouldn’t you get him?”

The man would have vanished by the time the guard spun around to see the offending figure, so Sanade jogged up behind the guard, pushed him into a running start before going after the man herself. “Hurry up! Come on, we’re losing him!”

Chrysaorus gave Todd a curious expression. "I don't see why you have to lie about that. I am not going to laugh at you for being embarrassed. Unless you want me to." Chrysaorus crossed her legs, and let her eyes wander down to his feet. "...You're not going to look me in the eyes, Todd? Still flustered?"

--

"No problem!" Airii gave a little salute, followed by Eirii who tended to do whatever her sister did. Drianne nodded happily, pumping her fists a little infront of her chest. "I had that outfit changed a little. It might seem tighter than usual. How does it fit?"

Drianne waited for an answer, but both a woman and a guard had arrived at the door before she could receive one. She gave them both blank expressions. She hadn't met the lady, but... The guard... Oh yes, Garren! That was his name. She smiled at him. "Hello, Garren! How are you?" She greeted.

((Post for Ine soon in a double post, same reasons as before))
Garren must have been deeply thinking or thinking deep, since he couldn't quite see the barely-dressed man bolt across the castle lobby. He did, however, see a slight blur in the corner of his eye. And that was enough to have him pay attention for a good two or three seconds. He looked up, alert, ready for whatever dared bound through the halls in such a rush. But she almost couldn't believe that it was a naked man, revealed to him by the lady right next to him.

He was pushed forward, and he nearly fell over along with the weight of his cannon. He caught himself quickly, seeing the lady urge him to follow the man in pursuit, and he did so. But the water on the floor, along with the polished tiles, made him slip up a little.

He saw the man enter the room, then get pulled in by the ladies. He took a bit of time to get himself prepared for whatever could've caused such a ruckus in the castle, then entered the room, with the woman still next to him. Then, he was greeted by a familiar face.

"Hello, Garren! How are you?" Asked the little girl from inside.

"Drianne...? Oh, hey Drianne. I'm fine, but, a naked man ran into here. Did you see him?"

Todd shook his head again, which looked rather silly from someone who wasn't even looking up at that moment. He managed to look at Chrysaorus from under his brow, raising his head the slightest bit to do so.

"W-well, yeah." He admitted, pawing at his face in a feeble attempt to stop it from being so red, "I, um, I like you, Chrysaorus." He paused before continuing, "That's why I'm so flustered. I'd like to spend more time with you like this."

He then ducked his head again, pressing his hands against it to cover the top of his head. He was practically a turtle hiding in its shell. This was a mistake. How could those words have so carelessly tumbled from his mouth like they were nothing? Perhaps she wouldn't understand what he meant by that. He hoped she wouldn't understand. He begged an invisible force to not let Chrysaorus put two and two together.

~

Walter was about to answer Drianne's question of "how does it fit" with a "It fits fine, thank you", when he was startled by the same guard and woman he had seen earlier. He backed away from the door (and the people who had seen him), giving them an embarrassed wave.

"Hah, wow, look at that, we all know each other now!" He joked, all embarrassment held in with a forced grin,

"Anyway, I should be on my way, I need to see my dear friend who has most likely forgotten all about me for his precious Walter-abusing Queem so, hrm, hum, off I go. If you'd please move. Out of the way. That I need to... Go through. I need to go through that door."

"...." Sanade placed her hand on her head and ruffled her own hair, a short mess that she had left untamed for the past few weeks. It had grown almost to her shoulder now in a boyish cut. She sighed and scratched her head, turning to the guard beside her. "So? You going to let him go? For running half-nude in an establishment such as thi-" She halted in her speech, paused, as if thinking for a moment, registering the words of the previously half-nude man. "Queen? You're going to see the queen as well, huh?" She sighed, and dug her hands in the pocket, her mind contemplating the situation. Her hand closed around the knife in her pocket and released it, before gripping again.

"Right. Mind if I...follow?" she finally asked, extracting her hands from her pockets and dusting her trousers down. She directed the next query to the guard who had accompanied her earlier. "You...don't mind, right? If you let both this exhibitionist and I see the queen? For completely different reasons, of course."

(I'll edit and fill this in later. When I'm not being watched by teachers.)

Chrysaorus contemplated and rubbed the side of her cheek with her slender fingers. "... That makes sense. Why would you be talking to me if you disliked me? That much is blatantly obvious. " Chrysaorus leaned in forward again, raising an eyebrow. "Your face is red. Are you sick?"

--

"Ehh..." Garren let out a whine. He was honestly confused. Even if the man had been naked a bit before, he wasn't now. And he guessed that was all that mattered. Unless he attracted more than just their attention when he ran through the halls.

But, for the two of them to meet the queen? He supposed it was okay.

Drianne looked up at Garren with a concerned face. "Can you let them go?"

Garren looked over his shoulder. "Yeah... It's fine..." Garren slowly backed away from the door to let him and the lady through. "The queen should be studying in the garden. If you do not know where that is, I will escort you."

Todd leaned back a bit when Chrysaorus leaned forward, her staring making him feel uncomfortable. She thought he was sick? Really?

"No, no, I'm not sick!" He explained, "I just get -- My face gets red when I... Feel certain emotions. Hey, here's a question for you. Do you have shackles strong enough to hold an extremely powerful creature, like, say, me on a full moon?"

Good work, Todd. Good topic change.

~

"'Mind if you follow'??" Walter parroted with disbelief and a bit of anger, "Woman, you were about to have me arrested and now you want me to -- ??" But no no, she was soon asking the guard for permission, and he even offered to lead them there.

What a strange situation. Walter only shrugged.

"Alright, alright, I for one would certainly appreciate an escort to the queen and my idiot clothes-kidnapping friend of mine. So please, do lead the way.

Before they were lead to the garden, Walter took the time to look the girl over some more. She certainly didn't seem to fit in with the locals. Not in looks, and not in clothes. Who was this woman? Where did she even come from, if not here?

Was she from where Walter must have come from? Wouldn't that be something.

His face turned red whenever he felt certain emotions? Well, that was a little weird, even for a human. But, she just supposed it was true, and sat back properly into her seat to avoid creeping him out more than she was before.

"A little peculiar, but I understand. I will not peer or delve." Chrysaorus smiled.

"And, to your question... During the full moon, you are not the only one who, hmm, changes... During the full moon, my magic becomes more powerful. That said, I can easily lock you up in a room and set you there for the night."

Todd listened to Chrysaorus's answer, somehwhat happy to be off the subject of "love" and other emotions. Apparently during the full moon, Chrysaorus's magic becomes more powerful? That's an interesting fact. It was a shame Todd could never see her in action -- Or at least remember seeing it.

"Will a single room be able to hold me, though?" Todd asked, "After all, in my wolf form I could definitely knock a door of its hinges, locked or not. I really don't want anyone getting hurt. I'd probably need to be chained down or shackled or something, just to be safe."

"Since everything's decided," Sanade dusted her hands and pushed her glasses up her nose again, third time in fifteen minutes, "how about we get a move on, hm?" The faster she got to this Queen, the faster she'd get her answers. Unless this sparked off some crack adventure thing that had her having to brave her fears and fight off the forces of darkness and or or evil or something. This sort of setting usually had these highly predictable plot flow.

"I'm Sanade Nishijima. Call me Sanade or whatever you feel like calling me." She introduced herself as an attempt to at least find a bit of footing in this foreign ground. As her eyes passed over the ladies in the room as they left, she found something very odd with the streaker from earlier. While he was dressed in the clothing befitting the current setting, he stood out from the other people. Something about him did not feel right- he didn't exactly stick out like a sore thumb, but he just seemed....different. He didn't have a certain....glow about him, unlike the other denizens of this world. Sanade set this thought aside in her mind, thinking about it no longer until a later date or time if she had to.

Chrysaorus nodded. "Will do."

Afterwards, Chrysaorus took up yet another book, and started to read into it.

((Blah))

--

Garren didn't quite understand the man and his denominations for the two people he mentioned, but it didn't matter now since it was his duty (self-proclaimed) to bring him and this other traveling-lady to the garden.

"This way." He ordered, not wanting to speak too much to them. He turned, fixing his large cannon up onto his shoulder, and started to head away from the room. Walking in the direction of the garden near the back of the castle.

((And Ine, you make me laugh <3 again blah, I can't get into the mood for posting evur))

"You know, Chrysaorus, if you want to know what Earth is like -- Well, New York at least, you can always pick up this." He handed her the Spider-Man comic as he told her about it, "I mean, sure you wouldn't be able to read it, but the visuals are still there. Our world is like that, minus the guys in the skintight suits punching each other in the face."

Todd leaned back in his chair, looking off to the side, at the garden.

"Sorry for interrupting your reading again."

~

Walter gave this Sanade-Nishi-Whatever person a small nod to acknowledge her, but otherwise did not want to give her any of his attention. She did not deserve it, what with the trying to arrest him and such? Arresting meant going back to the dungeon, right? No, no, no he couldn't go back there. He didn't want to go there ever again.

He was led by the guard, though when they got close enough, he caught Todd's strong scent and, yes, he was with Chrysaorus.

"That bleeding -- !" He snarled before running out into the garden and pointing an accusing finger at Todd, who was bewildered by Walt's sudden appearance, but knew why his friend looked so annoyed with him.

"You forgot to give me my clothes back, you dolt!" Walter yelled at Todd, who replied hastily.

"I'm sorry, Walt! I completely lost track of time here! But look!" Todd showed Walter the first Harry Potter book, "Look, look, don't you remember these? Walt, this is 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'! Chrysaorus managed to get Earth books, Walt!"

Walter took a look at the book, studying the blank front, brows furrowed. He took the book, opened it up, read a few lines in his head, then put the thing back.

"Sorry, I can't get excited over something I can't remember." Was his answer, which made Todd sink a bit in his seat, visibly saddened and disappointed by this. He had hoped the books would remind Walter and help him remember some things. Then Todd saw the guard and the new girl who, to honestly say, didn't look like she belonged here at all. Her clothes didn't match up, and neither did her hair or scent. She smelled like a foreigner, frankly, and he was surprised that Walter, with his new cat-powers, didn't pick up on this.

"Who's your new friends, Walt?" Todd asked.

"Right, this guard is Garren and the lady who nearly had me arrested - for something that was your fault, by the way - is Sanade Nih... Nij... Niche-Something."

"... 'Niche-Something'?" Todd asked, raising a brow.

"Oh I don't know, it was something that sounds foreign that I can't remember or hope to pronounce correctly."

"Nishijima." Sanade corrected, finding herself breaking away from the group and wandering around the garden's interior, curiously perusing the perimeter. Ecology-wise, the place was almost similar to Earth, but, yet again, there was a foreign glow, a sheen of gold that disappeared whenever she tried to focus clearly on it, that settled on the entire setting. From the conversation, she deduced that the streaker from earlier was named "Walt". He lacked the same sheen as the surroundings, and so did his friend, a rather burly young man. No name given. Both were foreign from this land as well. She had only noticed this particular pattern after meeting this Walt person. She paused in her exploring, tucking her hands into her pockets again, and reanalysed the situation, trying to recall the conversation that had just passed.

".....something I can't remember."

".....Earth books, Walt!"

"Don't you remember these?"

Sanade pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose, a fourth time. They were from Earth as well, no big surprise. The fact that stood, however, was that they were still here, and one of them was an amnesiac, namely, the exhibitionist. She turned around, and gave a small faux-curtsy. "Sanade Nishijima, from Kyushu, Japan," she said, hoping to at least probe one of these gentlemen's minds that she was from the same world as them. To the lady friend of Walter's male friend, whom she figured Walt didn't really like much, she gave a small nod. She, like the rest of the world, had the same unearthly sheen around her. The difference was that she had much much more, giving it a strange miasma-like flavour rather than just a cover over her. This uniqueness surely implied that she was of a higher standing than the others she had seen.

Chrysaorus lowered the book that she had in her hand only to see another, much thinner book, handed to her. She put the one she currently had to the side to take the one she was given. According to Todd, this book would give her an idea about what Earth looked like. Then he explained that she probably wouldn't be able to read it, even though the pictures were plainly invisible and open for interpretation on its own. But, couldn't he read it to her? She scanned over the cover, and found that the letter scheming was a little off. Perhaps, another language. That must have been it.

She flipped over the first page after having a good look at the cover. In it, as stated before, she could see all of the sufficiently-illustrated pictures of Spider-Man. At first she couldn't get a grasp of the reading order, and was just looking at what panel came after the next, reading left to right from both pages. But she found that it didn't make much sense, and she relied on the same strategy, only reading left to right from one page. And that worked much better.

Chrysaorus couldn't read that far into it, though, being interrupted by Walter who came in yelling from afar, at Todd. At first she thought she was at fault, considering their current relationship, but as he continued to yell she knew otherwise. "Not my conversation..." She clearly stated to herself before continuing to scan the Spider-Man comic. Until Garren, one of her more trustworthy guards, had been mentioned.

"Garren? You're dismissed. You may continue to patrol around the streets." She said in the background noise of the two talking.

Garren gave his only queen a salute and headed off.

Chrysaorus wiped a stray hair from off of her face. She didn't feel like holding her hair into two braided buns anymore. She ran her fingers through her hair until it gradually pulled loose and fell to the back of the chair, just as it should have. She gave a little huff, and turned another page, until she listened in and figured out that she was not alone with the two men bickering next to her.

"Kyushu Japan?" Chrysaorus turned her head around her seat. "That's not from Escherisa, is it?... Hmm, you must be from Earth, then? This is the third person that has appeared here; I'm beginning to think that a stray spell is still in effect and is pulling people from Earth here. I'm not completely sure if this is the case." Chrysaorus put the comic down, and stood up from her chair to get a better look at the lady. "Well, what is it? Have you come to receive an audience from me? I should introduce myself; I am Queen Chrysaorus, at your service."

"Japan?? Holy shit!" Todd exclaimed, laughing a bit from the surprise of another Earthling coming to Escherisa. What are the chances of this happened? What, a million to one?

"... Holy shit..." Todd said again under his breath when it finally fully sunk in. This girl was from Earth, but she looked perfectly okay. Nothing was wrong with her. Well, seemingly nothing wrong. Before she could tell Chrysaorus whatever she needed to, Todd was checking Sanade. He sniffed at her, checked her skin for any discoloring, roughly handling her like a TSA security officer, even checking her eyes and hair for deadness.

"What are you doing to her? Todd -- Hey, you really wanna scare her off or what?" Walt asked, almost pitying this Sanade-Niche person for the sudden invasion of personal space. Almost.

"Shut up, Walt!" Todd suddenly snapped at the cat-man, startling him a bit with his viciousness. He then stared into Sanade's eyes with his own (currently ice-cold) blue ones and asked her a very important question, "You don't look infected, and you're not acting infected. Tell me, what's the situation with the zombies on earth, hm?"

"Zombies??" Walt cried out in half disbelief and half shock, "This is what that was about?? There were zombies on Earth?? Wouldn't that be something I'd remember, amnesia or not??"

Todd only shook his head.

"You tell me how Earth's looking, and then you can talk to Chrysaorus. Is it safe to go back, or no?"

Sanade's fist met Todd's gut. It was as tough as a brick wall but it should be enough to send him back a few steps or so. She extracted herself from the man, Todd was his name as she gathered, and dusted herself down, casting a glare at Todd, only made comical by her glasses gone askew by Todd’s aggressive behaviour. Sanade found it to have become a habit forced by circumstances for her to correct her spectacles’ positioning as of late. She did so, once more, making a mental note to preserve whatever pride she had left in her appearance in a safe and throwing it out into the sea if she ever made it back home.

“Yes. Japan. No, no zombies.” Sanade rubbed the knuckles on the fist that had struck Todd. Boy, that really stung. What was this guy, some human equivalent of an oak tree? “As far as I know, the last zombies I’ve heard of were rabid fandoms of the Western crumbling music industry. Besides that problem, Earth is relatively clean.” Sanade paused, removed her glasses and extracted the handkerchief from her pocket and used the unbloodied corner to wipe away the smudges on the windows, before replacing the spectacles on her face and pushing it to the top of the bridge of her nose again. Hrm. This entire set up was getting more interesting. If her theory was correct, these two were probably from the future of Earth, or mayhaps a different reality even. Sanade rubbed her chin thoughtfully, then pushed her hair back from her forehead and looked straight into Todd’s eyes, daggers flung at his direction, before she turned to the Queen. Chrysaorus, the name was.

“The pleasure is mine, milady.” Sanade tipped her head slightly. “Might you have any information on my arrival here? Seems as if I was pulled into a vortex the moment I picked up this,” Sanade reached into her pocket and pulled out the sheathed sushi knife, where upon she blanched and made a face, “piece of crap.”
