Rosaleya sat alone in the store, in the same state she had been in when Crystal had left her. She didn't look up when she heard customers entering the store, sighing sadly. It wasn't until she heard his voice that she sat up bold upright and turned to the cash register. "It's you!" Rosaleya said disbelievingly, standing up from her chair to stare at him, her eyes wide. He remembered my name! I can't believe it; Crystal was wrong! I can't believe he's here! His teeth look so cool! Rosaleya was so excited to see him that she noticed everything but his hungry expression. "I didn't catch your name last time." Rosaleya said, calming down and doing her best to act polite.
"That's a nice name..." Rosaleya said, not certain how best to continue the conversation.
Meanwhile
Alastair met Raven back on top of the building at their two-hour mark, having spent most of his time at the meeting. "Just on time, thank you. How was your outing?" Alastair asked with a smile.
"It was wonderful, thank you!" Raven smiled dreamily. "The food was the best part! Who knew raw sea food tasted so amazing?"
"You had never tried it before?" Alastair asked as Raven opened the carriage door for him.
"No..." Raven said, wondering why he would be surprised. There are no fish in Heaven...Why would I have tried it?
"I apologize; if I had known it was your first time, I would have wanted to be there with you." Alastair said quietly.
"No, that's alright; I still had a great time." Raven nodded convincingly.
She flew him home, where it was 2:30 in the morning, and he spent the rest of the night sleeping. He awoke at nine in the morning; late by his standards. Washing up and getting dressed, he walked over to Aislynn's bedroom and saw that it was open. He turned back and went downstairs to the kitchen, then out into the gardens but she was nowhere to be found. It was in the center of the labyrinth that he found Luna, playing her violin again. "Good morning, Luna." he greeted when she had finished with her current song.
She returned his greeting and asked him if he's like to join her when Alastair politely rejected it.
"Would you happen to know where Aislynn is? " Alastair asked casually.
"Last I saw she was dining with you for breakfast, yesterday...Why?" she added, wondering if she should be concerned.
"Nothing of importance, I merely wanted a word with her."
"Oh. Alright." Luna said, turning back to her violin.
As Alastair walked back to the house Raven landed beside him, going from flying to walking rather elegantly.
"Do you want to know where Aislynn is? I can tell you're worried." Raven offered helpfully.
"She's not in danger, is she?" Alastair asked, not answering her question. He couldn't decide if it was rude of not to ask Raven where Aislynn was...It wasn't quite spying but it wasn't quite polite either.
"She's at her grandparents' house; nothing to worry about." Raven answered before he could go on debating.
"Please, don't read my mind." Alastair said, nearly snapping for it had reminded him of his brother, always reading his mind like he was superior to him.
"Sorry; I don't want you to think of me like your brother!" Raven apologized quickly. "It's just hard sometimes!" she said excusably.
"You need to try harder." Alastair said seriously before apparating away.
