Sadly Jake's plan did not work he thought of something to say very nervous as a reflex he started biting his lip he tried to say something but all that came out of his mouth was "well..... you see (cough) ummmmm......... I don't have a story Im a wonder I do what ever I want to do whenever I want when I want Its really fun life you should try it some time".Felicis said:Jake isn't his real name, she thought, but she didn't say anything out loud. Maybe he was hiding something too, and she was determined to find out. To know the enemy is to destroy the enemy. That was what Scythe had taught her.
She waited for him to tell her about himself, but he remained quiet, so she pressed on. "Ahem...I said, what's your story? What did such a kind soul like yours do to find itself wandering hopelessly in a forest trying to take down the biggest military power in all the lands?" she asked, jokingly.
Well done ))EasternGhost said:Malakai Sindacco, currently upon the list of the Top Ten Most Wanted List of criminals of Fire Kingdom law, also an Ex-Fire Kingdom Military Officer, strode into that very bar wit his face slightly shrouded, only allowing the briefest glimpse of his red eyes as he took a lone seat within a booth, attempting to watch any who seemed like Fire Kingdom officials...or anyone he disliked for that matter who might know his face. So far he noticed no one. Most people he knew here weren't very friendly to Fire Kingdom individuals. Of course, by law....Malakai wasn't either. this was what happened when you suddenly grew a heart and decided that murdering innocent people from rival Kingdoms was well...morally wrong.
He had done so before....and yet for whatever reason....he had developed a heart....apparently at the wrong time. During a war.
But those children....those screams....those screams....
Why could he still hear them even now? Why did he still see those faces as their flesh melted right before his very eyes!!??? He had refused to do it....he had made a sacrifice...and those children still died. He was no hero. No, he had killed the very General that had given him a home out of the slums because he had disobeyed that order....that order to kill those children.....
He had killed the only man he had ever known as a father...for children that were his enemies...whom had died anyways regardless of his defiance. He had killed that General....and then he had lost her...the only existence that had seemed pure and innocent...in a world filled and condemned with hatred and greed. He had lost everything, given up everything for those Water Kingdom children....and it had been for nothing. He was no hero. He was no martyr. He was a fool. He was a fool who grew sentimental when it would have been smarter to remain a monster. A monster....why did he have to become human now? Why couldn't he just not feel like he once did?
Those screams....he had lost everything....surely he had atoned for his sins!!?? He had nothing left to lose except his life..and living was far more painful than dying. At least in death he would no longer hear those screams...see those melting...burning...frightened....hopeless eyes....No...to live was so much more painful. Death only laughed at him. He was a fool to have become human when being a monster was so much easier. He had come to this bar to be around people. Living in that cave in that forest for a while now...was...torturous. He had always been around people. the slums in the Capitol of the Fire Kingdom was once his home....now it was his enemy. It hunted him like an animal and would hang him like an wretched monstrosity as soon as it found him. He had to stay alive....he had to stay alive long enough to atone for his demons....
Maybe then those screams would stop....Maybe finally....they would forgive him. He had tried to save them....but a monster cannot be a hero...it can only atone and then move on.
He noticed the male who spat the water.....Water Kingdom? The very people he sought forgiveness from....the Heavens had a sick and twisted sense of humor...or maybe his demons were only taunting with him. He gripped his sword strapped to his back under his black cloak of concealment. If he was attacked...he could fight his way free. Fighting had been his whole life. Fighting in the slums for rotten bread and dirty sewer water as a child....to fighting on the battlefields against the People of the Water Kingdom. War never changed....only the circumstances.
His eyes narrowed....he noticed others who might have been companions..
Surely he wouldn't have to kill again? He sighed.
"If so....then so be it" he whispered to himself.
Jake Came out of the bushes and said"what is that?" but when he looked at the refreshing pool of water he saw something he should not have seen after he realized what it was he yelled "Sorry sorry" And turned around quickly Then he said "I did not know I did not know" and Jake's face was redder then a tomato And he said "I'll just go back into the bushes" he said embarrassingly.Felicis said:(Np ) (<- That is a double chin xD )
Her eyebrows arched. She was getting curiouser by the minute. What was he hiding? She was desperate to find.
But another sound distracted her. There was a low gurgling, coming from past a clump of evergreen trees. Felix's eyes widened when she realised what it was. Without saying another word, she dashed through trees towards the noise and admired the scene.
There was a clearing, and in the midst of the clearing was a pool of fresh water. She tried to look for a sign, but there were too many leaves covering the water's surface. Thinking quickly, she said, "I'm going in for a dip. Turn around, would ya?"
