Veronica finished healing his wing and it had taken half get energy but she didn't show it

Alaster fluttered his wing then flew straight up and free fell then swooped down through the jungle picking fruit before landed in front of Veronica


"That's much better now, still I owe you one for saving my sorry ass"


He said as he handed her a piece of fruit

Veronica took the piece of fruit and inspected it before she took a bite " Thank you " she said quietly

Alaster took a bite of juicy piece of fruit, it juice spilled out all over his chest


"Damn it now I'm going to be a sticky"

Veronica a was still wearing the bikini, her clothes had sunk with the ship... And all those innocent people who died by the serpent, she whimpered

Alaster looked at Veronica and heard her whimper


"I'm sorry, I could have saved those people. I'm useless, I never should have bought the stupid book"


He said as he sat down and threw the grimoir away from his. A sad look started to form on his face

Veronica flared her wings and looked to Alaster she shook her head and turned to Alaster " No, you aren't useless... Those people died because I couldn't do anything but sit there. The grimoir had nothing to do with it "

"Creatures are attracted to the power that book gave me, all I do is make things worse"


Alaster said as he started to feel worse about himself

Veronica shook her head " Just imagine if you didn't have the power of the Grimm reaper... About what happened since you first got it " she said staring at him intently she was determined to keep him from tearing himself down

"You were almost eaten by a lost legion and kidnapped by Hades who was going to torture me to death in front of you, and now who knows how many people died on that ship cause of me"


Alaster strained to say as he hid his face behind his hand

Veronica moved his hand and closed her eyes as she slapped him " Alaster! Think for a moment... If you never became a repear then you would have never met me, I would have never gotten my memories back and never figured out I'm a guardian angel and whoever would have been the Grimm reaper if not you would have no mercy for me or I'd have rotted away! " She yelled and then took a deep breath in and sighed then added " Your effecting people in more positive ways... Now imagine if you would have died , on the boat " she leaned forwards and kissed the place where she had slapped him " I'm sorry for hitting you "

"If I died you wouldn't remember me"


He said before he bowed his head having his hair fall in front of his face as tears ran down his cheeks


"I don't deserve your kindness"


He sobbed

Veronica sighed " Alaster, if you didn't deserve my kindness then why in the world would I be your guardian angel? " she smiled a bit and leaned down she looked at Alaster " Now please don't cry over what's already been done... You should be happy, not everyone gets to fly with wings, meet ghosts, and beat the hell out of Hades " she kissed him softly she extended her wings and brushed the tips of her feathers on his wings

Alaster wiped the tears from his face and looked up at Veronica


"Thanks"


He said softly then stood and walked over to the pond


"I find I need to cool off"


Alaster turned back to his human form then dived in

Veronica watched him she folded up her wings and they went away leaving her back sore, she watched him wondering if he actually loved her as much as she loved him... If he did then he never she used if, or he didn't know how... Veronica just stayed by the tree inspecting fruit before she ate it

Alaster surfaced and climbed out of the pond and stumbled a bit as he walked over to Veronica. He knelt down and brought his face close to hers


"Tell me something, what do you think of me"


He said as he started to blush

Veronica. Blushed and she slightly moved back " Um... " she didn't know how to answer " What? "

He repeated as his eyes started wonder

Veronica wasn't sure what he meant by that and she said " Your nice " she backed up against the tree and curled her legs up to her

Alaster clarified as he leaned in closer to Veronica

"Remember when we left Hades and I told you you make my heart race and fill me with a strange feeling I never felt before"


He said as he pulled away and sat down in front of Veronica

Veronica hesitated and nodded, it it was hard to tell which statement she was nodding about

He hesitated to say, unsure she felt the same
