Landyn kissed Adrian’s cheek, playfully swinging a hand back and forth. “Only if you’ll see me.” He laughed and let his partner go so that he could disappear. He wasn’t going to run after the newbies, at least not yet. He needed to figure out the plan with Vegas and if Greg still had something he was looking for. For Levi, everything felt askew. It was like the world got knocked just slightly to the side, and now he couldn’t quite be upright anymore. He was walking correctly, though it didn’t feel like it. His equilibrium was off. He just had to make it to- “Our room?” They had the same room? This was a continued partnership kind of thing? Great. Was it? He didn’t know how to feel. “Yeah. Where are… we?”​

Adrian smiled at the kiss and saw the playful swinging hand. "When you're leaving for days or weeks that's the only time you're allowed to interrupt and pull me away." He replied, watching him as he headed off to the next bed. Gaige walked beside Levi, keeping close as he heard the question. "Yeah, they put us in the same room." He said as he smiled. "Follow me. Oh, this place is beautiful Levi." Gaige said as they exited the building and he turned to lead them to the housing.​

There were just so many people. Levi hadn’t seen this many people since… maybe Las Angeles? And the so many was only what he saw in the halls and rooms as they passed them. They they exited the building, he slowed. If he thought that there were a lot of people before, he was wrong. Now there were a lot of people, and it was a whole place full of them. They all had pendants. They were all Fireflies. The place was absolutely stunning too. As he slowed, he lost concentration on keeping himself together and stumbled. He reached out and grabbed for Gaige’s arm.​

Gaige wasn't used to so many people either, and he wasn't a fan of how many people there really were. It seemed like more than two hundred or two hundred and two now. He looked around at the place and they were halfway to the housing when he saw Levi stumble. He lowered his arm to catch him and managed to get him back onto his feet, with an arm around his waist. "Hey, you okay?" He asked, concern in his voice as he looked at Levi. He was afraid that he was let go from medical too soon, but Gaige couldn't keep him there any more than Adrian could.​

No. You tied me to a pole and theft me to go crazy and die. You fed me rotten and bruised fruit and food. He put manacles on my hands and forced me to work for things I didn’t get. You treated me and everyone else around like we were lesser. “I’m fine.” You saved me. Pulled me down. Gave me water and food. Carried me to safety. Stayed close. “It’s just… a lot.” He looked around them, and the world might have been beautiful, but it was so many people. They weren’t even hidden away in buildings like they used to be when trying to get around FEDRA. It was strange and a little uncomfortable. A lot uncomfortable actually. “I didn’t think it would be so much.” He looked back at Gaige trying to see how he felt about all of this.​

Gaige heard that and narrowed his eyes, he didn't completely believe him. Though the rest of it, he under stood. It certainly was a lot. He found it to be a lot. "I agree. Why don't we head to our room and take some time to process this? It's certainly more than I ever thought it would be. I didn't think there were so many Fireflies left." Gaige admitted as he looked at Levi, his arm never leaving his waist when he did. "How's that sound? Maybe later we can find out where they serve food."​

He should have been amazed. He should have wanted this and more. He should have been excited. Instead, he kind of did not want to be there. He assumed that this was because it was overwhelming. “Yeah, okay.” He started walking again, though not away from Gaige. With Gaige. He liked it better when he had the support, even if he didn’t want it. Even it he did. “I think they should bring it to us. I almost died.” He smiled just a little. “They want more people, right? Win me over with a feast.” He let Gaige guide him since he didn’t know where they were going.​

Gaige didn't want to be here for the sole reason that he didn't think he deserved to be here. He wasn't a Firefly. He didn't deserve to stand with them at all. Nor did he deserve to be at the island full of them. If they knew what he did in Santa Barbara, he'd be hated by them all. He still thought that Levi hated him to a degree. "Now that's an idea." He said with a soft chuckle, catching that little smile. "I could go for a feast." He added as he guided them into the housing building and down the hall. "Here we are." He said, opening the door for them both and leading Levi inside.​

It really was. Levi would kill for a nice big meal. Probably not actually kill. He was all murdered out. He did not really want to do that anymore. He looked inside at this small room with the two beds. “Cozy.” He pulled away from Gaige and fell onto the first bed there. His arms sprawled out beside him. He let out a long sigh that breath. “What about something with platters. It’s always bigger and better if they make enough to put on a platter. A whole spread on a long table.” He closed his eyes and imagined just the place that he had seen that before. Enjoyed some of the food and everything.​

Gaige sighed softly as he felt Levi pull away from him and watched him fall onto the first bed. He moved to sit on the other one after shutting the door. "A platter full of food. That sounds wonderful." Gaige agreed as he laid down on the bed and looked up at the ceiling. He hadn't had a feast in forever, even in Santa Barbara he never really ate like the rest of them. He'd grab a sandwich or some nicer fruit but that was it, and then he'd retired to his room. "I know I said this before, but I am sorry for what I did to you." Gaige admitted.​

There were so many good foods that could be in a feast. He remembered one in particular. He didn’t remember why he got to go. He was young and someone’s friend. It was big and grand. It was attached to a ball. He didn’t care about that part. He loved the food. It was great. FEDRA always had the best things. He opened his eyes at the words. He turned his head to face Gaige on the other bed. “I know.” He did. He knew it. He was not sure if that helped at all. It was nice to know. It wasn’t enough. Not yet. “It’s… hard. I don’t know who I am. How am I supposed to know who you are too?”​

Gaige rolled his head to look at Levi, hearing those two words. That sent almost a calming sensation through his entire body. Before he spoke, he heard the rest of his words. "Thank you. I wish I could help with that, but I don't know who I am anymore either." He said, as he looked back at the ceiling. He didn't feel like a Firefly anymore, not after Santa Barbara. He didn't feel like a Rattler anymore either. He just wanted to be Gaige. But he didn't even know who Gaige was anymore.​

It was almost comforting to hear that Gaige was struggling with that too. If he were as lost as him, would he have turned to the Rattlers too? Would he make such drastic decisions? He didn’t know. He wished he knew more about Gaige’s story. At the same time, he didn’t. If he knew more, he was not sure he could keep up his anger. He thought he deserved to keep it. “Do you ever feel like you’re not you?” It sounded like a stupid question when he asked out loud. “Like you know who you are but you’re really not?” He lifted the dog tag and slid it over his head so that he could hold it up. Seth Levinson. “It doesn’t sound right. That guy said it. Seth.” He shook his head. “But I don’t know if Levi does either? I don’t know… me.” This was a confession he could only tell someone like Gaige.​

Gaige looked at Levi again, hearing his question. “Yes.” He replied, a short, rather simple answer. But one that held meaning deeply to him. “I know who I was. Back before..” Him. “But I lost myself somewhere. Somehow.” He sighed low and heavily. “Perhaps we need to find ourselves. Maybe here. Maybe not. If this is not where we belong, would you be open to finding somewhere else with me?” Gaige put forth. He wasn’t sure if Catalina Island was where he should be. So many Fireflies, his past come back. San Francisco had a good sized base. So many they sent them to other bases. “You don’t have to answer than right away by the way.”​

That was another unexpected question. He hadn’t thought this was a conversation that they would had. Though, they already had so many that he had not expected. The words sat over top him like a blanket. He watched Gaige as he looked at the ceiling, and he felt like despite the fact that they were talking about not knowing who they were, he was really starting to see him, whoever that was. “You don’t think this is it?” That was not what Gaige said, but it was a thought that came from it. Because until Abby said anything, Levi wasn’t even looking for more Fireflies. He was just looking for something.​

Gaige heard the question and knew that was expected considering what he'd just said. He looked up at the ceiling as he sighed heavily. "I don't know. I just.. don't know if this is where I should be. Given everything I did." He knew this admission was safe with Levi. He turned so he laid on his side and propped his head up. "I'm willing to give this a try though, what's the worst thing that happens, perhaps we leave and find somewhere else?" He said as he looked at Levi, his voice still sounded unsure.​

He got that too. Everything Gaige was saying, he understood. “I didn’t even know we could come here. I wasn’t looking for it when I got… caught.” Levi looked away. He didn’t want it to look like he was blaming Gaige. He was. Sort of. He also wasn’t. “I don’t know what I was looking for.” Was it this island? All these people who were doing the Firefly things? He didn’t know what those things were. Everyone seemed so busy around here. He felt like he should be too. “I don’t know what else I would do or where I would go.” He didn’t know who he was. How could he know what to do? “Are you hungry?”​

Gaige looked at him and nodded as he did. He understood that too. He saw him look away when he mentioned getting caught and he bit his lip. He felt a bit of blame, both self-imposed and felt like it came from Levi. "I didn't either when I came across the Rattler's the first time." He admitted as he looked at him. "Well. Why don't we try to work here and if it doesn't work out, we load the boat up and find somewhere else. Preferably not California." Gaige said with a soft laugh. "Me? I'm not super hungry.."​

They could go. Go like there were other places to go. Where would he go? When Vegas fell, that was his whole life that he watched crumbling, and he was there until there was nothing left to defend. When he moved to Las Angeles, he was there as everything was already falling apart. He remembered what it felt like for everything to feel like it was not right. Then he found the Rattlers. He did not think that he could take another place falling apart around him. He rolled to his side but facing away from Gaige. “Maybe we can eat later then?” If this was a package deal, he wanted the package to slow down. He wanted the package to wait. He shut his eyes tight and hoped that the world would go back to level.​

Gaige watched as Levi rolled to his side, but he was facing away from him. Oh, okay. Right. Gaige laid down on his back, looking up at the ceiling. "Yeah. Uh, we can go later." He said softly. He was certain he'd messed up now, how else could he explain it? Maybe he should've kept his feelings to himself. Gotten Levi here to the island and then sailed somewhere else. Found somewhere else, though he didn't even know where he'd go. All he knew was California and Vegas. But he didn't want to go back to Vegas. Gaige was lost in his thoughts, staring up at the ceiling, arms folded over his stomach.​

Levi pulled his limbs close together, curling in on himself in a way that probably made him look far more vulnerable than he would ever have wanted. If he could see himself, he would have demanded that he straightened out, sat up, and acted like a man. However, as it was, he was not entirely aware nor capable of that. The world still felt like it was off kilter, and it was making him sick. He probably should have eaten, but he didn’t want it. He also did not want to admit that he probably should not have left the medical wing yet. As he held himself together, he thought about the Fireflies all around them. Who was he supposed to be here?​

Gaige wasn't sure if this was truly where he belonged, but as he turned his head to the side to see Levi curled in on himself, he sighed. Even if this isn't where he thought he belonged, he knew who he belonged with. "A- Are you okay?" He asked, looking at Levi. "Do you need to go back to medical?" Gaige's voice was concerned as he watched Levi, his eyes also holding a good amount of concern as well.​

“No.” It was a harsh word that came from desperation. No, he did not want to go back to medical. No, he did not need help. No, he probably wasn’t okay. He was fine. Everything was fine. All he needed was to lay there for a moment and let it work itself out. He didn’t move. “I’m just tired.” When his eyes were closed, most of the time that seemed to make everything a little less off balance. Laying down helped too. He didn’t want to walk again. Being upright was far worse than this. He considered rolling back over to look at Gaige, but he didn’t want to move. If Gaige wanted to have a conversation, he was going to have to come to him.​
