Adrian sighed heavily as he heard that. Sand was great and warm, but got everywhere. He smiled though as Landyn took his hand and then brushed off the spot. “Thanks. Only need a shower and to wash these clothes to get all the sand off.” Adrian said with a laugh. At the pull, Adrian followed after Landyn, curious if the man would be awake or not. And then they’d have to wake Gaige. Though he might let the other one sleep a little more. They could talk to him in relative peace without his friend there. Adrian led them off the beach and towards the big building. “Do they know when you might be leaving exactly?” Adrian asked curiously as they moved.​

It was true that a nice shower would relieve him of feeling sand everywhere, though he did not want to do that yet. He liked being with Adrian, and he knew that if he stopped even for that small amount of time, they probably wouldn’t be together for a while after that. He sighed at the question. “Not yet. When I was talking to Summers, they were saying max a couple of days. It’s probably less than that. I don’t know. I can go talk to them when you go back to work.” They moved to the big building and finally stepped inside.​

Adrian couldn’t stop the heavy sigh that came out as he heard that. Then a shake of his head. “Don’t go until we finish with him.” Adrian said softly, wanting just a little more time with his partner. Was it selfish? Yeah. Definitely but he didn’t care. He wanted to spend time with Landyn, especially knowing they’d be apart for so long. He led the way into the building and turned towards the medical wing. It was quiet for the moment but they still had two patrol groups out and two scout groups aside from Landyn’s. That merely meant that the quiet would not last for long.​

As they walked, Landyn looked at Adrian and really noticed how much he did not want Landyn to go. He knew that this was hard for Adrian, but he never really thought about how hard it was. He stopped them and pulled his partner into a tight hug. “Hey, I’m right here. I won’t go yet. If they want to have a problem with that, they have to go through me.” He moved back enough to show off his string bean arms. “They can’t mess with me. I’m a little firecracker!’ He rubbed both of Adrian’s cheeks with his thumbs. “And they can’t mess with us. We are forever.” He placed a hand on Addy’s chest and over his heart.​

Adrian was halfway to the medical wing entrance when he felt Landyn stop them and he all but collapsed into the tight hug. He felt ridiculous for this. He knew it was what his partner had to do. He knew that it was his job as Adrian worked in the medical wing. It was still hard though. Adrian let out a soft chuckle though a stray tear slipped down his face. “Yes, you and many muscles will persuade them.” He said with a small smile. He felt the rub on his cheeks and then felt the hand on his chest and heart. “We are forever aren’t we?”​

Landyn pulled away his other hand to place it over his own heart so that theirs were connected through his arms. “Forever and always.” He meant that more than he could say. That’s had it should be. They were two of a kind. He knew he wanted Adrian early on, and he knew that he would work as hard as he needed to in order to keep him. He leaned in to kiss him. “I love you, doc. Forever and always.” With a wide smile, he yanked on Adrian’s hand and all but ran down the hall to the medical wing. They had things to do and places to be.​

Adrian smiled softly as he felt Landyn pull his other hand away, and saw him put it over his own heart. "Forever and always." He whispered as he smiled at his partner. For a year Adrian ignored Landyn completely in Boston, leaving the areas he was in and hiding away from him. It took all of their years training before Adrian finally gave up and accepted that he loved Landyn more than a best friend. "I love you too recruiter mine. Forever and always." He replied and then in truth Landyn fashion, he saw that wide smile and laughed as he ran with him to the medical wing, and it didn't take long at all to get back to the guy's bed. "Bet he's still asleep?" Addy asked with a grin as they moved.​

He never knew another world, but if Landyn and Adrian could have been kids growing up in the world before this apocalypse, he would have done so much more for Adrian. He would have dragged him to all sorts of things probably under the guise of being great friends when in reality he was forming dates. He would have showered him with whatever he thought might impress him. Landyn would have been thrilled to get to be a normal boyfriend. In this world, though, he did not have that chance. He was put to work too early. There was no time for boyhood romances. There was, however, still time to stay utterly attached. They made it to the bed where the previously unconscious man now had a hand over his face and eyes. “I guess not quite asleep still.” With his free hand, Landyn poked the man’s cheek. Levi squirmed away. “Nope, not asleep. I think that means he’s all yours.” He moved back so that Adrian could take over. ​

Adrian looked over at Landyn before looking at the bed. The man had a hand over his face and eyes and he rolled his eyes as Landyn poked his cheek. "Love. Let's not poke his cheek." Adrian said, swatting at Landyn gently as he watched his partner move back. "Hey bud. How're you feeling?" Adrian asked, stepping up to his bedside and placing a hand on his shoulder. "I need to see your face, and it'd be great if I had a name to call you." Addy said as he looked at the man who was now awake. "Landyn, can you go get Gaige for me?"​

Landyn watched from the side, though that was too far, and he hovered above Adrian’s shoulder. He wanted to see and known everything. He found himself wildly curious about the new people on their island. They had a different air to them than a lot of the people they brought back or found them. He sighed. “So, no interrogation before we get his other half. Fine. Have it your way.” He disappeared down the halls. Levi felt so lost. He really hadn’t felt much himself in a long while. He could blame the Rattlers, but he was lost before that. Now, someone spoke, and he did not recognize the voice. Not wanting to talk, he removed his hand from his face and flicked the pendant in ways of response. Good enough for now. Landyn made it back to the room and knocked like the good boy he was and did not barge in. “Hey Newbie. Feeling better?”​

Adrian knew that Landyn was hovering above his shoulder. He'd never tell him but it kind of frustrated Adrian when he did that. It was most of the reason he sent him away. "You can interrogate them together." Adrian said as he watched Landyn leave. He looked back at the man on the cot and saw him flick the pendant around his neck. "Seth. Okay. Nice to meet you Seth. Name's Adrian. Now, I'm sure you don't want to speak, but I need to hear you talk just a little for me." Gaige was awake, and had been staring at the ceiling for a while. He heard the knock and looked up as the door opened, getting to his feet. "Hey. I'm feeling a little better yeah." He said. "Is he awake?"​

Did he want to speak? No. But now someone was telling him to, and from what he could tell about his surroundings, he was in some sort of medical facility. This must have been a medic. Great. They could deal with the mostly dead part of him. Though he felt significantly better than before. He must not have been mostly dead anymore. “There. I can talk.” His voice wasn’t too bad. He still sounded a bit parched, but that was an easy fix. He rolled his head to the side and watched as people moved around them. A woman who also appeared to be a medic walked to another exam table with a patient on it. They really had a whole setup here. Landyn waited at the door until finally Gaige got up. “Ah, you do look better. Yes. He’s awake. I wanted to impose upon his personal life before I came to get you, but the doc ordered your presence since he’s your companion or whatever.” He waved a hand. “So, what is he to you anyway? Some random guy you picked up on your way here? Your brother from another mother? Your happy fun time boy? Oh! Is he your ex? That would be fun too.”​

Adrian heard his words and he could hear that parched voice. "Good. Nice to meet you buddy." He said as he turned over to grab the water that was there from the nightstand table and he brought it over to Seth. "Here. Drink this. Can you sit up?" He asked as he stepped closer, his free hand out to help him if he needed it. Gaige looked at Landyn and shook his head as he heard his words. "He's.. I'm not sure what he is. I met him in Santa Barbara. No he's not an ex, or a brother from another mother, or whatever." Gaige said as he went quiet. "Let's just go see him." He added, gesturing for Landyn to lead the way.​

Levi- uh. Seth? Reached to take the water and then decided sitting up was probably the better thing to do first. He shoved his arms to the side, painfully, and pushed himself up into a sitting position. It took effort, and he was sure that he did not hide the discomfort on his face, but he did it on his own. This may have been where he wanted to go, and it really was. This did not mean that he trusted everyone. He didn’t trust anyone anymore. Finally he took the water and drank it. He was not as thirsty as he remembered being, though he had a like attached to him. He assumed that was replenishing fluids. Landyn thought Gaige’s answer was weird, though not unexpected. He did not seem like the kind of person to want to share his life story with just anyone. “Yeah okay. This way.” They made their way to the medical wing. “You don’t share a lot, do you?”​

Adrian watched as he shoved his arms to the side and pushed himself up. He saw the discomfort on his face and he knew that it must've taken effort and hurt to sit up as he did. A smile on his face grew as he saw him drink from the water bottle though. He was glad that Seth was at least taking water and he could sit up on his own. "So, you want to tell me what you went through that caused all this issues from malnourishment to dehydration and more?" Gaige looked at Landyn and nodded as he followed him. He tended to keep himself closed off from people, all people really, and he'd been like that since he left San Francisco. "No. I don't." He replied as he followed him to the medical wing.​

No. That was the knee jerk reaction. He didn’t want to tell him anything. Then he had to remember that whoever this guy was wanted to help him. They were both Fireflies. They were working towards the same goal. “Was a slave.” He put the water down. “I’m not anymore.” He looked at the man before him with a silent question. He refused to be prisoner anymore. Not to anyone. He looked around and found himself disappointed. Why? He turned his attention back to the medic. Landyn knew he would get that kind of answer. There was no way around it. Some people were just like this. “What about your you’re not sure what he is? Does he share more?” They reached the medical wing and he stepped inside. He peered over and sighed. “I’m gonna take that as a probably not.”​

Adrian let the shock fill his face as he heard him. Slave. What? He bit his lip as he shook his head. "What.. w- where?" His voice stuttered a little as he tried to imagine this. Where in this country were they living like that. "I- In Vegas?" Addy asked, confusion and concern for his partner as he looked at him. Gaige looked at Landyn and sighed roughly as he bit his lip. "I don't know." He said as they entered the medical wing and he looked over to see Levi sitting up. He walked quicker towards him, and came to the other side of the bed. "Hey." Gaige said softly, looking at him.​

“What?” Why would this guy ask about Vegas? That seemed a bit random. He recoiled in shock as someone assumed that his home was where slavers were rampant, and in doing so saw his pendant on his neck. Oh. Right. That would tell someone that he used to be in Vegas. And also that he was Seth. He might as well be then. “Uh.” Levi was nothing but a slave anyway. His eyes found Gaige, and his words faltered. His throat thickened with a coat of cotton. “Um. No.” He followed the moving form of Gaige until he was on the other side of the bed. He looked away, unsure what to think with everything that happened between them. The fact that he couldn’t tell if he hated him or not was very stressful. Landyn came in shortly after. “Look at this nice and awkward reunion. Are you sure it’s not exes, because it feels a lot like that. The tension. It’s palpable.”​

Adrian looked at him and saw him recoil in shock. "I apologize, I didn't realize that. My.. partner is headed for Vegas potentially to scout for more Fireflies."
Adrian explained as he saw Gaige coming up to them. He could hear those words falter and he narrowed his eyes as he tried to figure out just what kind of relationship these two had. He looked over to see Landyn coming in shortly after and sighed softly. Gaige looked at Levi and then the others and sighed. "We aren't exes. We just met in Santa Barbara." Gaige said, glancing at Landyn before he looked at Levi again. "How are you doing my light?"​

His light? Landyn also through this strange and wanted to know what was going on between them. Not exes. Were they together? He didn’t get that vibe either. But calling someone their light seemed pretty personal and intimate. He looked at the man on table who looked at the rest of them. “Santa Barbara.” Levi looked at Gaige. “I was a slave there. Not Vegas.” He looked at Adrian. “So your… partner is fine.” He leaned his head down to rest on his hand. “Am I good to go now? I think I’d like to… move.” It probably was not the smartest thing to do now, but he didn’t want to lay there like an invalid. They finally made it somewhere that was supposed to be good. He couldn’t waste that time. He felt like this was a second chance. A third chance? No, a fourth. How many more chances was he going to get?​

Adrian didn't know what exactly was going on though he heard Seth's words and nodded. "Okay. And as for being good to go, you look better but I want to see you walk on your own to that bed, two beds down, and then back on your own first." He said. Gaige made to move and Adrian snapped his attention to him. "Stay." His voice was stern, rough and Gaige backed off. He knew that kind of tone. "Okay." He said, hands raised as Adrian nodded and turned to look at Levi. "Now. If you want to go, that's what you need to do."​

Landyn was intrigued. He loved when Adrian got into doctor mode. He would say he isn’t a doctor, he’s just a medic, but Landyn didn’t care. He was the doctor of this world. He stayed where he was as their charge stared at Adrian for a moment like he was trying to figure something out and then started to get up. “Alright then, new guy. I dig the effort.” He moved back to sit on one of the empty exam tables, of which there were fewer only because the groups event back yet. He patted it for Gaige, though he assumed that he would be ignored. Gaige was one of those strong, ready to catch someone but only that specific someone type. Levi slipped off the bed and stood up. He was significantly better than when he last tried to walk. It was not great. He should have sat back down. He wasn’t going to. Instead he walked. He wasn’t even slow about it. He moved with purpose. He was fine, or at least as long as he told himself that, then it was true. He walked to the first bed where Landyn was. Then the next. Facing away from the rest, he took in a sharp breath and turned back around and walked back. He was fine. For now. Probably not in ten minutes, but he had been through worse. Okay, maybe not. He’d been through pretty bad and had to keep moving. “Okay. Thanks. Can I go now?” He ignored Landyn’s cheering in the background.​

Adrian watched every muscle, every movement as he saw Seth get up, and narrowed his eyes. He saw how everything worked together but he still didn't trust it. He could hear Landyn cheering but his gaze was entirely on the new guy. "You still seem off. Perhaps some walking exercises would be a good idea. I want to see you tomorrow morning to check on everything and I want someone with you at all times just in case." Adrian told him. Gaige had seen Landyn pat the exam table for him, but Gaige shook his head. He did however watch Levi walk and he had a big smile on his face as he watched him. When Adrian said he needed someone, Gaige was up. "I'll stick with him." He offered.​

Not good enough. That was definitely what he decided as he got Adrian’s verdict. He wasn’t good enough. He would have to do better. He did not come all the way for someone to tell him that he needed walking exercises. He did not run from an encampment to be shoved on a pillar and left to the mercy of the elements to be sidelined. He wasn’t even sure what he was going to do now that he was back with the Fireflies, but he used to be one of them. He was a soldier like the rest. At least for a little while. One of few in a place abandoned because of infected. One of few in a place that was falling apart. He was brave. Seth Levinson was brave. “You don’t have to.” He turned to Gaige and then immediately looked away. Of course he did. He could see that look written all over his face. That smile. That need to be there for him. He didn’t know if he wanted Gaige to be that close. His hands sat just above his hips as he looked at the ground. “Fine. Let’s just go.” He didn’t know where they were going, but he was going. He was walking before anyone could argue. Landyn raised a hand, perplexed. “Uh, bye? Are we letting them just go?”​

Adrian watched as Seth stood there with his hands just above his hips and watched as he started walking. He looked at Landyn and nodded. "I can't hold him here. Medically, he's perfectly fine. Feel free to run after them, but baby. I've got more patients to work with." He said as he gestured to the scouting patrols, both had come back within the last twenty minutes. "See me before you leave?" Adrian asked as he walked over to his partner. Gaige looked at Levi, hearing his words and nodded. "I do." He whispered. It was his fault that he was this weak to begin with. He looked at the others before taking off after him. Gaige caught up and walked beside Levi. "Would you like to see our room?"​
